2025-26 Game Thread: Knicks @ Heat

The Knicks are down two star players, but luckily, they literally kicked this exact team’s ass without Brunson and OG (well, most of the game without OG, and they kicked ass without him in the game).

Landry likely won’t be a superstar in this one, but the Heat have no one that can guard KAT, so the Knicks should still win this one. And luckily, the Mavericks are next, and they suck. The Knicks will eventually play some teams where OG’s absence will matter more, but that’s a future Knick problem!

Let’s go, Knicks!

58 would still be great!

I am worried about this game, mainly because it’s hard to beat Spo twice in a row. In other words I’d be more impressed by a win than disappointed by a loss.

From the last thread:

I think a no-shooting/defense/rebounding lineup of Deuce/Clarkson/Diawara or Dadiet/Hart/Mitch would be interesting. Get all of the offensive rebounds, try to run some low scoring stretches.

Then play a Deuce(or Kolek when he needs a rest)/Mikal/Shamet/Yabu/KAT and go all-in on shooting.

CLLYYYYYYDDDDDEEEEE!!!!

Since I’m in SoFl I get to watch the Heat feed 🙁

I’m quite interested in seeing how Brown handles the shorthandedness.

Saw an article about Tyson Chandler. It opened with, “Tyson Chandler may be remembered most fondly for being the emotional and spiritual leader for the Dallas Mavericks during their 2011 championship run, but the true foundation of his legacy as a rugged, hard-nosed defensive big man was built during his time with the New York Knicks.”

Uh, what the fuck? No, dude, the thing he is best known for, which happened before his Knicks’ tenure, IS the correct answer to that question about the “true foundation of his legacy.” What the fuck kind of shitty writing is that?!

Deuce/Shamet/Mikal/KAT/Mitch should be pretty solid defensively for the 15min Mitch can play

Brown took the previous thread’s recommendation of five minutes in the second quarter and said nah, one minute in the first.

Brunson was looking pretty good shooting around pregame maybe he can suit up for the 2nd half…

I had to check Fontecchio’s b-ref page to see if he’s shooting 75% from three because he never misses against us

Fontecchio is an all-Knicks Killer first team since Detroit, dude is a flamethrower against us.

I get why he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but Clarkson is currently one of my favorite minimum signings we’ve made in years. It’s a skill set we really were sorely lacking without him, warts and all.

I can only imagine what Patrick Ewing would have done if repeatedly single-teamed by the likes of Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Andrew Wiggins….
