2025-26 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Timberwolves

The Knicks looked to have an easy stretch this week, but Anthony Edwards is surprisingly returning to the Timberwolves lineup tonight, so this should be a nice test for the Knicks.

Hopefully they win this one, and keep this winning streak going! ESPN had a funny article today about the Knicks’ chances of winning the East, and it’s basically, “Everyone else sucks so much that I guess I pick the Knicks.”

Let’s go, Knicks!

58 sure would be great!

Just grabbed a bite with Hubert and his lovely friend. Now I just need a Knick win! View from 208 is cool.

I didn’t know there were two types of ESPN. Now that I know I still don’t understand it. It just shows how confusing the NBA TV lineup is for average fans.

I lijd Randle and usually want him to do well, but I’m not at all happy that he is killing us right now.

Haven’t looked at the numbers, but sure feels like Randle has cooked us in every revenge game.

Good to see Yabu do a thing though.

Randle was awful his 1st game vs Knicks last season when Knicks destroyed them in Minnesota.

Knicks 3pt defense is beyond atrocious.

Not really. A few mistakes, but they’ve rotated pretty well. The Wolves are just good at driving and kicking, so we’re always in recovery.

I know the shot quality data says Knicks have had the worst luck with their 3pt defense but they still needlessly help off 3pt shooters way too much for my liking.

I have a principled opinion on raw +/-: it’s almost entirely useless noise, except in the case of Deuce McBride, in which case it’s proof positive he’s elite

Well, that was a good example – with OG on Randle, Brunson should not have helped off DDV

Clarkson sure does take some shots that have his public defender considering moving to withdraw

This is going to be an exhausting game of runs. I feel like I should just tune in for the last two minutes and save myself a lot of grief…

We’ve looked fine for fuck’s sake. Minny is very good, and we’ve done some dumb things now and again.

Gobert is really good. I know he’s limited, but man, he’s a force.

we were posting earlier today as to whether we still have that fight in us to come back when we are down like we did under thibs looks like its still somewhat in there

Wolves didn’t rotate at all – wonder if their legs are a little tired

Like a week ago I was despondent about Hart. Now I’m wondering if his finger being at a 90 degree angle is the key to unlocking his jumper.

Randle vs Mitch now 0-3

Edit: now 1-4, but that doesn’t count as a 2 on 1

Interesting that Hart seems to be better on D vs Edwards than Deuce. Stronger.

nets might get their first win of the season tonite against the pacers wheres donnie 4 for 5 on threes from josh

There was a play where Josh’s guy doubled Brunson, he passed to Josh outside the arc. Josh drives, and when the defense collapses on him, KAT cuts in, receives the pass for an easy 2.

That was a super beautiful play. Something you’d never see under Thibs.

KAT has the entire suite of dumb offensive foul moves…the arm lock, shove in the back, elbow clear-out, etc…

Lol

Honestly, KAT is still only half as good in offensive fouls as Eddy Curry was. And I have to say, Curry committed only 2 different types of offensive fouls, but you could see them from a mile away, they were so predictable.

Our clock is not a good advertisement for Tissot. Has a problem seemingly every game.

I think the Timberwolves might have punched OG’s mom as a collective. He is on a fucking RAMPAGE. Maybe they killed his dog?

I think we should give the Raptors another first round pick. I’m starting to feel guilty about that OG trade.

“Why is Jeff Daniels the Timberwolves coach? Is he researching a new role?”

Chris Finch:Jeff Daniels::James Borrego:David Schwimmer

(…meaning neither passes KB muster)

4 smalls and Mitch, hmmmm

Edit: to Brown’s credit he seems to have recognized that was a bad idea

Whoever said that +/- doesn’t lie when it refers to Deuce is correct

We are handling these guys.

Are they on a B2B?

They beat Brooklyn on Monday, so they didn’t even have to travel!

Might be time for the Huk/Kolek Collective.

Nobody’s played over 32 minutes so far though…

Well it looks like the New Knicks will start each game playing terribly, and then just get better and better as time goes on.

Remember when we couldn’t ever win a third quarter?

we were posting earlier today as to whether we still have that fight in us to come back when we are down like we did under thibs =

One of the dumbest things we’ve ever posited. None of these guys derived their fortitude from a 67 year old bald man on the sidelines.

Kolek had two nice assists.

Huk had four points in a minute and a half.

None of these guys get their fortitude from a 67 year old bald man on the sidelines.

Bald? Bald, you say?

It’s so awesome when a non-Brunson Knick dominates the shit out of another team.

One of the dumbest things anyone has ever posted on here?

Honestly, hubs. And I mean this sincerely. Go fuck yourself.

Fuck espn and youtube….greedy bastards…hopefully they throw me a bone and I can watch the replay

Brown’s substitutions can be a little random, still, but overall he’s doing a lot of the things we all wanted with this team. I’m hoping they are together enough that we do some zone starting in game 20 or so… we’ll need every option if we want to remain unpredictable through the playoffs.

Very gratifying win. T-wolves are really good. Knicks depth won it. Lots more home games coming up is good news. It’s a great time to really sharpen the chemistry before we go on the road.

Sorry, dude, but the idea that the fortitude of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, et al comes from Tom Thibodeau is pretty baseless.

I like Hart off the bench playing fewer minutes. He’s basically an energy guy plus. I think we’ll get more energy per minute playing fewer minutes and he’ll be more effective, especially against second stringers.

While the Bulls win was the most important win to get off the snide, this one was the most impressive. Looked like Edwards was a step slow but Knicks still took care of business. Rotations seem a little more set and Hart is out of his early season funk. Continuing the productive bench scoring will go a long way to racking up wins

Hopefully this will be the season where Knicks finally win 30+ games at MSG again, haven’t done so since the 54 win Melo season.

You don’t have to call it the dumbest thing ever posted on here because it’s not. And I fail to see how beating up on antless minny in November somehow proves that this team will be able to win tough playoff games on the road against the defending champs (just to give one example) in the playoffs if the offense isn’t clicking.

And now you like Josh hart? I thought he was in decline and we should trade him?

You make dumb post after dumb post daily and are the biggest front runner on this blog. You freaking creamed your pants when we signed Yabu this summer and now less than ten games into the season are bitching about how Leon could’ve gotten someone else. Your entire existence in this blog is stupid.

And if you think I’m over reacting imagine having not opened up the blog for several hours and going to it excitedly to read the comments after a satisfying win only to have some asshole say your comment from earlier today…a comment I made simply to state what my concerns are…being called the dumbest thing ever posted in this blog. You’re an asshole.

Ant played 29 minutes, but how about the presumption of grace and don’t hijack threads?

Every discussion doesn’t have to be the Battle of Verdun.

The ball movement and cutting tonight was sublime. The Wolves are a really good defensive team and we carved them up for 137 points

1

our bench outplayed theirs 94 minutes to 76 when did that ever happen last season we hit 45.2 percent on threes on good volume and we had 32 assists magic number for wins is 27

I do think our depth is a big plus, in a subtle way – they were on the road, but they did get tired, and in general we should be able to wear teams down. Yes, Yabu is a loss so far, but we still have Deuce, Hart, Clarkson, and Shamet – good to cromulent players – and a decent third string big in Huk. More importantly, Brown is willing to play marginal guys real minutes. It should make a difference over time and in playoff games. We were hard-pressed (six) to keep up with Indiana; this year, that should be us.

I’m sorry rama, but it has already been conclusively stated by People Who Know that our utter lack of depth will destroy the team and ruin the season.

Fair enough, Raven…

But seriously, other than OKC, who else is 9 deep?

We have to get Yabu going on offense and then the only thing to worry about is the defense. Everyone else looks good. OG looks great. He’s playing at the same level he was playing last year when Brunson was out. Brown is unlocking something with Bridges and OG on both sides. It still feels like Brunson is trying to do a hair too much, but things do feel more balanced this year.

and warriors just had will richard who was picked at number 56 overall play 34 minutes and score 30 points in a non-blowout draft and develop and this is what youll get

what about marcus smart? he committed a late game inbounds violation nothing new for him had no idea olynyk was on the spurs now along with luke kornet thunder arent invincible after all just lost to blazers that deni avdija is something else really donnie amazed you showed your virtual face in here after your team gave the nets their first win

My team is the Dodgers, still high as a kite.

(The Pacers without Math are not really the Pacers, fyi)

oh but they are fans of teams shouldnt quit their fandom just because of injuries if that were the case everyone would just be a fan of the most healthy team at any given point in time
