Brian Cronin: I did some interview questions for a documentary our old buddy, Robert Silverman, is working on. That was fun to have a Knickerblogger reunion there.

Brian, if you can, tell us more about the documentary and how is Robert. šŸ™‚

The backcourt is set. Donte is a star now, people just havenā€™t accepted it yet.

Just a couple of comments on this.

    1. IMO itā€™s still not 100% certain that the way he has been shooting at high usage in the handful of games that Randle and OG have been out is sustainable when they start game planning for him.

    2. When Randle and OG are back, someoneā€™s current usage is going to go down. For better or worse, thatā€™s likely to be DDV.

    3. IMO DDVā€™s defense is not that good. He can be disruptive at times because of his energy, but itā€™s generally not that good.

I think the most likely scenario is that he goes back to being more of 3rd or 4th option playing off Brunson and Randle and using his energy to get shots. But it may be more likely he becomes 4th option because they are going to be anxious to keep OG happy given what he brings on defense too and because they need to bring him back.

Strat, part of that article on Divo was how teams are now actively game planning against him and just failing at it, despite the offense only being him and Jalen right now. Once others come back from the hospital I agree he’ll be relegated to a lower echelon on the team usage chart, but it is very cool that we will have four significant offensive weapons in our starting five (and a rim runner or two to swallow and dunk offensive rebounds).

Divo’s had a fairly small sample size on this, but it is likely more sustainable than JHart’s wizardry last year, as Divo has always been an accurate shot taker (Josh, not so much).

It’s a hell of a team, even if it only lives in our minds’ eye right now.

We all know Leon Rose doesnā€™t talk to the media, but weā€™ve finally found his mouthpiece. ā€œDeep Throatā€ was already taken, so letā€™s just call him ā€œMrs Hartensteinā€.

I look forward to the next piece by Woodward and Cgreen.

“IMO DDVā€™s defense is not that good. He can be disruptive at times because of his energy, but itā€™s generally not that good.”

I think he’s much better than you are giving him credit for being. He’s generally in the right place at the right time and very hard-nosed. He’s strong and tall enough to handle switches onto bigger players. He’s got athletic pop. I don’t see a guy getting targeted and burned by opposing guards any more than with IQ or Grimes. IQ, Grimes and DDV are all about equally impactful as defenders, with each one having strengths and weaknesses. Grimes might have a slight edge at being physical at the point of attack and switchability, DDV has the edge in blitzing and playing passing lanes, IQ is stronger at reading the floor overall, but none of them are difference-makers in the category of a Smart, or Caruso, White, Jrue, or other all-defense types. (BTW, IQ rates very low in DEPM, which is another reason I don’t trust that metric.)

The main thing is that DDV made both IQ and Grimes expendable. Grimes will not be missed at all on either end, and RFA IQ was essentially the cost of replacing bloated contract RJ with UFA OG.

because they are going to be anxious to keep OG happy given what he brings on defense too and because they need to bring him back.

I’m not sure how much OG cares about the shot opportunities vs how much he cares about what those opportunities mean in dollars paid. If we ante up, then I expect it will be fine

I know mikal to the Knicks is a fantasy but another reason why he would be so perfect is that mikal is the one SG we could bring over who could move DDV back to the bench and DDV, after this great stretch of play, would most likely be cool with it.

DDV as our 6th man with mikal and OG in the starting line up would be beyond sick.

I know that some have suggested that the OG trade was an overpay, as well as the Bojan/Burks for Grimes trade. I don’t think they were, but can understand why one would think otherwise, strictly in terms of valuation.

But the better question is: were they worth making strategically, even if there was some lost value on paper?

I would say OG for sure was worth making, because of the rarity of finding a player like him. He truly fits this team like a glove, and if you want to get a deal done, you don’t quibble too much, just get it done unless it’s an extreme case, e.g. what Ainge wanted for Spida.

The Bojan/Burks for Grimes deal is more difficult to parse, but it was made to fill an immediate need that Grimes just wasn’t filling. So it will depend on how well Bojan and Burks fill that need, especially in the playoffs. I had lost faith on Grimes being anything worth dreaming on, but will reserve judgment on that end of it as well.

But the main thing is, even if both WERE overpays, you did not reduce flexibility to make future moves much at all. Grimes did not have much value as outgoing salary, so nothing was lost there, and Bojan took on Fournier’s salary slot. That all first rounders are still in the bank is pretty cool.

DDV is a good defender and because of his ability to tip balls and play passing lanes is probably pretty comparable to IQ defensively but is still not close to the same class as Grimes.

Grimes is a borderline elite defensive player and last year had the hardest average defensive assignment of any player in the NBA and did an extremely good job on those assignments. The only thing keeping Grimes from being in the class of the truly elite perimeter defenders is he is not a disruptive defensive force that causes turnovers and gets steals.

DDV is most definitely a step down from Grimes defensively but is still a solid defender overall boosted by the fact that he is more disruptive than either IQ or Grimes even if his on-ball defense is worse than both.

As for being missed, I think if you are rating the Knicks on how good they are and their ability to win games when healthy both this year and next year then both IQ and Grimes will be missed considerably. IQ was a fine price to pay to get OG, but a couple 1sts would have been better if that was even a possibility. But, in my opinion, trading Grimes was a totally unforced error that in the long run will make this team much worse.

Based solely on how Burks has played so far and Bojan being injured, it’s been an utter failure so far. However, we did get a brief glimpse of how effective Bojan can be immediately before getting injured.

Donte isn’t the PoA defender Grimes is but is 1000x more disruptive off-ball. I tend to think PoA is a lot more valuable.

Donte is scoring nearly 20pts/36 on the season as a whole. He’s made it.

I truly wonder if Mikal will ever be a possibility as a trade target. There’s the whole Nets never trade with the Knicks thing, but if the trade is truly in the Nets’ best interest, i.e. involves a pick haul that other teams can’t/won’t match, and IF there are indications that Mikal will not re-sign with them in 2026, then maybe there is a deal that can work.

Most probably not, but I don’t think it is impossible.

Trading for Mikal would be really fun. I am not sure either if it would ever be a possibility but it would be great. He would fit really well with this team.

“Grimes is a borderline elite defensive player and last year had the hardest average defensive assignment of any player in the NBA and did an extremely good job on those assignments.”

I think this grossly overstates Grimes’ efficacy as a defensive player. He was assigned those players because he played in a lineup with Brunson and RJ as alternatives. He did reasonably well in that role because he played in a Thibs’ defensive scheme where he had plenty of help. This notion that Grimes was some sort of defensive stopper passes neither the eye test nor the smell test. He was a shortish wing without elite wingspan or athleticism. He’s not consistently staying in front of Dame or keeping Jimmy Butler from shooting right over him.

If I needed a stop on a generic “hardest defensive assignment” in a particular situation, I would take Josh Hart over him every day of the week and twice on Sundays, let along OG, who is DPoY material in that role.

Leaving aside the value of the trade to acquire him, we may be underrating the value of Bojan’s contract structure. It allows a team to waive him immediately after the draft and only pay $2M. The right team could value that clause for getting under the cap/tax/2nd apron.

Heck, if no trade realizes we might waive him to dodge the 2nd apron or even the tax

Heā€™s not consistently staying in front of Dame or keeping Jimmy Butler from shooting right over him.

    Okay… but he has?

I would take Josh Hart over him every day of the week and twice on Sundays, let along OG, who is DPoY material in that role.

Nobody is contesting OG, but playoff teams run multiple wings that need to be guarded PoA.

    Hart is shorter than Grimes

    “Okayā€¦ but he has?”

    Not really.

    “Hart is shorter than Grimes”

By an inch. Hart has a 1″ longer wingspan. They are virtually identical in size. IMHO (and Thibs seems to agree) Hart is the better situational defender. He was matched up with Spida in pivotal moments during the playoffs. Grimes had a good series vs. Jimmy but was destroyed by him in Game 6. He’s not some kind of lockdown defender that he’s being portrayed as here.

I said borderline elite. OG might be the best defensive player in the NBA of course Grimes isnā€™t as good as him.

Hart is also very good defender. I think him and Grimes are on a similar level. Grimes is better at guarding 1ā€™s and 2ā€™s and Hart is better at guarding 3ā€™s and 4ā€™s. Both can guard 1-4 with Hart struggling a bit with fast 1ā€™s and Grimes struggling a bit with physical 4ā€™s.

Having all of them would be the best thing and the thing is we didnā€™t have to choose. We could have, and did have all of them. And when all three players, OG, Hart, and Grimes were healthy we were the best defensive team in the NBA.

I think we are going to feel the loss of Grimesā€™s defense off the bench a lot and our bench unit is going to consistently struggle defensively. Unless Burks and Bojan elevate our bench to one of the best offensive bench units in the league it is going to be pretty ugly at least until Mitch comes back and we can put him or IHart with that unit.

With Grimes our bench was elite defensively with Precious playing center. Imagine how dominant it would have been with Mitch or IHart back there.

“The only thing keeping Grimes from being in the class of the truly elite perimeter defenders is he is not a disruptive defensive force that causes turnovers and gets steals….”

I think that being “that disruptive defensive force that causes turnovers and gets steals” is incredibly important, especially when you have guys like OG on the court with you and Mitch/iHart behind you. And that’s my larger point about Grimes vs. DDV. It all comes down to how effective you are in a team defensive scheme. OG and Hart do everything that Grimes does at least as well as he did it, so having a third guy digging out steals on blitzes and jumping passing lanes is more valuable than just having another “keeps guys in front of him” type, especially when that guy has an extremely limited offensive repertoire.

“…trading Grimes was a totally unforced error that in the long run will make this team much worse.”

This is an opinion shared by virtually no one, certainly not me, but I guess we’ll see. I think that two years down the road, no one will be thinking about what could have been had we just kept and extended Grimes. He will go on to be a pretty damn good (but no, not elite) defender and a mediocre-at-best (and more likely poor) offensive player.

“I think we are going to feel the loss of Grimesā€™s defense off the bench a lot and our bench unit is going to consistently struggle defensively.”

But Grimes as a bench player is pretty duplicative of Hart the bench player, and you said yourself that they are similarly valuable on D with some slight differences. If you play them both, assuming with iHart or Mitch, you now have 3 total non-creators and are undersized at the 3. If you put OG together with that lineup, now you have 4 non-creators.

Honestly, I don’t think Grimes had a place on the team unless Hart was traded as salary filler in a star package. And yes, I think it could be argued that Hart is significantly overpaid for his role so keeping Grimes around on a more modest extension would make some sense. But Hart is probably not going anywhere, so probably best for Grimes that he is moved along rather than being further marginalized.

But Grimes doesnā€™t have to improve be a pretty damn good defensive player that is mediocre on offense. Last year he already was a pretty damn good defensive player and he was already better than mediocre on offense. There is no wishcasting involved. Weā€™ve already seen that player.

Itā€™s not about DDV vs Grimes. DDV is a better overall player and should be starting. It wasnā€™t an either or so comparing them makes no sense. It is about Burks, Bojan, or whoever we get long term to be our 7th man (Hart at this point is our 6th man). Is that person better than Grimes? That will ultimately be the question.

“Last year he already was a pretty damn good defensive player and he was already better than mediocre on offense. There is no wishcasting involved. Weā€™ve already seen that player.”

Actually, Grimes was about as mediocre on offense as any starting 2 in the league last year. He had a 14% usage, which is ridiculously low for a starting guard. He rarely passed, or got to the rim, or to the line. And with an offseason to work on his game, what did he do? He got worse!

So there is actually a huge amount of wishcasting involved.

“It is about Burks, Bojan, or whoever we get long term to be our 7th man (Hart at this point is our 6th man). Is that person better than Grimes? That will ultimately be the question.”

Again, I disagree. Hart really isn’t a “6th man” in the traditional sense because he’s not a scorer. He’s a utility guy, which is more of a “7th man” thing, and in that role, duplicative with Grimes.

As to the 6th man role, I would say that it is now a shared role between Burks and Bojan, and that neither guy is all that well-suited for it, not nearly as well as IQ. To me, that’s the bench role that was diminished by the combined OG-Bojan-Burks transactions, and Grimes was not the answer there either.

In other words, I think it is imperative that Leon come ups with a better 6th man type to replace what IQ gave us. He could try a workaround by finding a starter that will relegate DDV to that role, which is not ideal either but better than anyone currently on the roster. Or he can try to find one in the draft.

So where we might agree is that neither Burks nor Bojan is an adequate long-term replacement for IQ…not so much Grimes. And if your point is that Grimes had more trade value in fixing that issue, then I might see some logic in that, but would probably still disagree because I think the league sees in Grimes what I saw this year…a young bench player with a rather low ceiling who couldn’t get back anything more than a heavily protected first in a trade, if even that.

Offensive capability is not simply about usage. Grimes had low usage mainly due to his role in an offense with three other very high usage players. He had a TS% of 61.9%. He also had a good 3pt% and a low to%. He was a very efficient player. Which is exactly what we needed him to be. That is better than mediocre offensive player. Even if it is a limited one.

This year after moving to the bench he had a usage of almost 20% and his 2pt% and ft rate were good. His 3pt shot was a bit off but most likely that was noise.

For all the talk of Burks creating offense he does it to the tune of a sub 40% 2pt shot and a similar 3pt rate.

6th man is about minutes not role. You donā€™t need your main bench player to be a high usage guard itā€™s just a common use of that role.

I know mikal to the Knicks is a fantasy

Now that we know Houston is hot for Bridges it officially makes him the least acquirable player in the Association for us. Weā€™re more likely to get Nikola Jokic than Mikal Bridges.

Strat, part of that article on Divo was how teams are now actively game planning against him and just failing at it, despite the offense only being him and Jalen right now.

I read that, but imo it’s too small a sample to see what is and isn’t going to effective and sustainable.

Iā€™m not sure how much OG cares about the shot opportunities vs how much he cares about what those opportunities mean in dollars paid. If we ante up, then I expect it will be fine

    That’s a good question.

He may be all about the money, but if we turn him into a 4th option spot up corner 3 point shooter so DDV can have higher usage, it’s going to be hard to justify what we are going to need to pay him to keep him happy anyway.

“Offensive capability is not simply about usage. Grimes had low usage mainly due to his role in an offense with three other very high usage players. He had a TS% of 61.9%. He also had a good 3pt% and a low to%. He was a very efficient player. Which is exactly what we needed him to be. That is better than mediocre offensive player. Even if it is a limited one.”

This is also wishcasting. Grimes was NOT what they needed him to be. His offensive deficiencies had to be masked by the high usage players. Now that we have DDV in that same exact role we can see the stark difference between their offensive contributions. Somehow, DDV figured out how to immediately put up an 18% usage in December when playing largely with RJ, Brunson and Randle, while Grimes bitched and moaned about how he couldn’t get opportunities in that same exact role as both his usage and efficiency plummeted. And with lower-usage OG replacing RJ, DDV easily accommodated the increased usage in the starting lineup while maintaining a high efficiency, something Grimes had no ability to do. Meanwhile, Grimes went to a bench role where a significant increase in usage was there for the taking, and he still couldn’t post a usage% any higher than DDV did when starting with ball-hogs RJ, Brunson, and Randle. And his .564 TS% in that role was still 20 points below league average.

And when you say stuff like “This year after moving to the bench he had a usage of almost 20% and his 2pt% and ft rate were good. His 3pt shot was a bit off but most likely that was noise….” that pretty much sounds like wishcasting to me. In 27 games as a reserve, his usage was 18.3, which is not really “almost 20%) and he took 31 FTs compared to 183 FGA, which is hardly what I would call “good.”

“6th man is about minutes not role. You donā€™t need your main bench player to be a high usage guard itā€™s just a common use of that role.”

I disagree, but it doesn’t really matter. However you want to define it, Grimes and Hart had the same exact bench role, independent of minutes. There was really no point in keeping both of them long term.

    Quentin Grimes offensive repertoire:

    1. Shoot spot-up jumpers
    2. End of list

Grimes’ assisted basket percentage is similar to Steve Novak’s. Offensively he is like Steve Novak except nowhere near as accurate. Novak had a career 3PT+ of 120, which is an awesome number. Grimes’ career number is 105. Good, but not amazing considering almost 100% of his 3PT made are assisted baskets.

You can’t just look at Grimes’ TS% and conclude that he’s a good offensive player. He’s extremely limited, with very low usage and no ability to make a basket unless a shot is created for him. Could he do more in an expanded role? Perhaps, but not without a meaningful ding in his efficiency.

Lots of endowment effect going on with Grimes. He’s a nut and/or bolt. You can find those. He is a high floor, low ceiling player.

Wow, Bridges makes a ton of sense on Houston, and since they can trade Brooklyn back their Harden picks, Brooklyn can do a legit rebuild, and I would trust Marks a lot on a true rebuild.

There are multiple issues to consider with regard to Grimes’ stats vs. capability.

If your #1, #2 and #3 options are going to be Brunson, Randle and RJ, what you want from your two other starters are plus defense and highly efficient low usage scoring. That’s what Grimes gave us last year when he was part of that group. It wasn’t until a certain point this year when he felt that he was so left out of the offense that he (and J Hart) started complaining. That’s probably at least part of the reason he’s gone. He was not happy in his role here. He believes he can do more but wasn’t getting an opportunity with Randle and Brunson being so ball dominant. That’s also why I was briefly complaining about ball movement and ball dominance. The offense was not balanced enough.

We know what Grimes can do and do well. He’s hoping to get a better opportunity to show that he can do more in Detroit. We’ll see.

DiVincenzo is averaging 26.5 points and 4.0 assists since Anunoby and Randle exited the lineup on Jan. 29. Heā€™s at 40 percent from 3-point distance in those eight games ā€” and itā€™s not like heā€™s been picky.

DiVincenzo wonā€™t stop shooting; heā€™s splashing in 5.3 long-range makes on more than 13 attempts a game. Both figures place him second in the NBA to the ageless Stephen Curry during this time. And he wonā€™t stop playing. His 40.4 minutes a night are second in the league to teammate Precious Achiuwa over this period.

Seems like we have found one of the best third options in basketball.

While this will lower the burden on Randle and Brunson, if they’re having a difficult matchup or an offnight, – the bulk of the DDV efficient mid usage value is that they won’t need a ton of offensive production from OG. Let’s him focus on defense and spot up corner shooting and he’s the best in world at that.

I haven’t seen any data that suggests DDV is a good defender other than maybe those that use boxscore metrics as part of their estimate. He’s disruptive and gets steals. That’s a plus and that’s what shows up in those metrics. BUT he doesn’t defend well overall that I’ve seen. We know he’s contributing positively on offense. So the suspect on/off both overall and defensively has to raise some questions over and above what I am seeing. He’s not matador, but I don’t think he’s a positive.

Weā€™re more likely to get Nikola Jokic than Mikal Bridges.

Maybe…but for Mikal…Leon can send OG to Brooklyn on S&T this summer + swap Bojan with Ben Simmons to save them a boat load of cash.

I don’t think the extra offense + character Mikal gives us is actually greater net value to us than OG’s length and defense on Tatum & Giannis but it’s still possible because of the value of assets Leon has acumulated.

With Grimes our bench was elite defensively with Precious playing center. Imagine how dominant it would have been with Mitch or IHart back there.

Ben R has methodically sold me on this.

What we really needed was a backup PG to pair with Grimes, Hart, and Precious on the bench and let defense continue to be the 2nd unitā€™s calling card.

Bojan is going to have to come up really big to offset this loss.

Maybeā€¦but for Mikalā€¦Leon can send OG to Brooklyn on S&T this summer + swap Bojan with Ben Simmons to save them a boat load of cash.

I think teams have correctly identified OG as one of the best players to have if you already have two good players. He’s not who you build around, so I doubt Brooklyn would want him for Bridges.

Their position on Bridges is either A. Build around him or B. Rebuild through a Bridges trade. The Knicks have the picks to do B, but as Hubert notes, so do a few other teams that could all use Bridges, too, and Houston has Brooklyn’s own picks, which are very valuable in a deal where you’re dealing your best player.

While I think Grimes is decent rotation piece, I really don’t think he will be missed by the Knicks at all. Between OG, Hart, Div0, and let’s not forget Deuce, we have more than enough on the defensive side of the ball. I actually think Deuce is a better fit coming off the bench and was outplaying Grimes. What we needed was playmaking off the bench, which is what Burks and Bojan can provide. With all the injuries, I thought they might throw in the towel on this year, but the trade has given them a chance to compete until OG and Randle come back, and possibly still make a deep playoff run. Grimes is solid, but Detroit has Cunningham, Sasser, Ivey and Thompson already. He has his work cut out for himself to even be a starter over there.

Wait a minute Hubert, you’re the one who sold me on Bojan!

Well, gkhenman, youā€™re the one who convinced me I was wrong!

Iā€™m not out on Bojan or down on the trade. Iā€™m just seeing some legitimacy to Benā€™s idea. Itā€™s less about Grimes individually and more about the identity of the 2nd unit, which had the potential to be excellent defensively and, if weā€™d acquired a PG, competent offensively.

We traded that away for Bojanā€™s potential impact. Iā€™m not saying weā€™ll regret it like Ben does, Iā€™m just saying Bojan has to make a major impact to avoid the regret.

I think this is why Brogdon was the best option, but looks like the Blazers were never keen on moving him.

Burks has been really disappointing. We’d be better off having Grimes hoist stepback 3s than running Alec out there. He’s been pretty good this year, so I’m hoping it’s just a cold streak/adjustment period.

I’m definitely becoming more sympathetic to Ben’s take but I want to see Bojan with a full complement first

The flip side is we got Bojan for when there is no second unit, i.e. when the rotation goes to 7 players and some spot minutes for a backup center. Grimes is never going to play in those games. As long as Bojan does and we use him as part of a trade next year, I donā€™t think weā€™ll have the deep regret he alludes to. But I do agree that the second unit long term was better being built differently. Iā€™m not feeling the Deuce-Burks backcourt at all.

It is not so much about Grimes being wonderful, but more about Bojan and Burks being bad, and a poor fit.

The 2nd unit was not scoring, and it was clear that we needed a second initiator, but it was holding its own. With someone like Brogdon, it was going to be a great 2nd unit. Bojan is not an initiator, and a defensive hole. Burks can do some ballhandling, but he is clearly miscast. We have created a really big hole in defense for the small of upgrade offensively. Our efficiency will go up, but also will our TOs.

For me, we have traded a player that could play some role in the offseason for two that should not.

I have not considered the benefits of Bojan and Burks contracts towards getting a star in the offseason, which might be important. But OG’s trade has taken my focus on this playoffs, I think we can do very well if healthy.

In the one stretch that the offense ran through Bojan, it looked pretty competent. Add Mitch/iHart behind him and that unit could widen the gap instead of just maintaining/slowly losing it.

Not sure how we’re coming to the conclusion that Burks and Bojan are a ‘bad fit” when Burks has played a total of 69 minutes as a Knick and Bojan 55.

Let’s wait until we’re somewhat healthy to evaluate these guys, when their roles as bench players will become clearer and more defined

Not sure how weā€™re coming to the conclusion that Burks and Bojan are a ā€˜bad fitā€ when Burks has played a total of 69 minutes as a Knick and Bojan 55.

While we’re on the topic, Fournier looked washed again in his second 25min stint for Detroit. Please let’s wait a couple more games before there’s any further conclusions drawn either way.

Z-man, Ben is not alone in his assessment, as I’ve said several times. I’m less pessimistic, but I do think it was a mistake.

    That said, again:

    1) if Bojan contributes to a championship, I’ll feel fine about it, and/or

    2) if Bojan and his contract are a key piece in a good trade this summer, I’ll feel fine about it.

Bojan in that one Houston stretch looked like the ideal for Bojan, right? He was operating like crazy.

Iā€™m not sure what Iā€™m watching here, but I feel like Kevin Knox should be involved in it.

I thought Sabrina had it for a second after her hot start but Curry makes the whole competition look laughably easy. Not sure how I’d feel after getting handed the 3pt contest trophy just to watch Curry beat my high score with ease.

Didn’t watch anything else, don’t intend to all weekend.

“Embarrassing dunk contest. Steph vs Sabrina was the best event of the night.”

What was the most embarrassing is that there was an NBA player not known for his creative dunks, a rookie, a 10-day guy, and a G-Leaguer. And the G-Leaguer won! Also, the judges were way over their head.

But other than that, I thought some of the dunks were excellent and that McClung would be a handful in any dunk contest era. He has legit freaky ups.

    The floor was pretty cool.

Why not just let the Liberty player compete in the regular contest? Seems unfair to put her up against the greatest shooter ever. But she totally could have beaten Beasley and Brunson.

I respect Jaylen Brown for competing, but the dunk contest is such a joke.

Do all the modern stars just suck at dunking and don’t want to be embarrassed or what?

Not sure how Iā€™d feel after getting handed the 3pt contest trophy just to watch Curry beat my high score with ease.

Yeah, but Curry was playing against a girl.

The whole all-star thing is a vestigial organ of the past. The 3-pt contest is probably the closest thing to legit…and it’s weird that Steph wouldn’t compete every year, as it’s not particularly taxing…but the rest of the weekend is really sad for an old-timer like me to watch. Back in the day, the players would go all-out. Now it’s a joke. And any solution will probably seem contrived.

Actually I thought the most interesting basketball news I read today was the Adam Silver commented on the development of young US players versus internationals and suggested that maybe in the US there are too many games (like high school travel teams and such) for young players and not enough practice and coaching.

    hell yeah – Tool time…

intermission, this place feels like a church in here…a pagan worshipping church…

    and, that’s alright…

just finished schism…whew, needed a break after that one…

I love how their front man hides in the back most of the show…one bass, one electric guitar and drums centerstage…
