It’s refreshing hearing the head coach of a team that lost to the Knicks not complain and make endless excuses in his presser
4
Phew…still processing that..unreal…this team is fucking battle hardened…
2
Josh Hart had more rebounds than the 7’5 dude. He’s the real alien.
What a gutsy win. I can’t believe they did it, especially after losing the lead at the end.
2
Everyone is better than Jalen Brunson until its time to be better than Jalen Brunson.
2
Listening to KAT in the postgame… I fucking love this man… I don’t think I’ve ever changed my feelings about any human this much

Listening to KAT in the postgame… I fucking love this man… I don’t think I’ve ever changed my feelings about any human this much
I always saw him as the NBA version of A-Rod with the corniness, but he’s been awesome these playoffs off the court as well.
KAT with a beautiful postgame monologue about his mother and the ease with which he suited up tonight. Wow.
5
It’ll be 6am before I can calm down…wow. Just wow.
It’s 4:30 AM here and i have to go hike with Lady Cyber and some friends at 8:30… but i’ll be all smiles, i guess!! LOL
3
Knicks finished on a 54-30 run, by the way. Maybe they figured things out.
3
Knicks were the more spry and energetic team down the stretch. Rest over rust. Doug Collins was right.
1
He’s playing so well. I didn’t think he did alot of dumb fouls and he made some tough shots.
1
I’m thinking about giving +1 at everybody in this thread 😀
2
I don’t think I’ve ever changed my feelings about any human this much
We’ve got at least three guys on this team who have made us all do a complete 180 on them from the start of the season. Clarkson has completely transformed his game (though I wish he could still hit 3s), Mikal has for the most part played like a guy worth those picks (though he was relatively quiet on offense tonight), and KAT has grown up before our eyes. Almost none of the goofy stuff. He knows what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. They are all bought in, and locked in. It is beautiful to witness.
I’m not going to be able to sleep for HOURS.
3
Dude, right there with you on KAT.
If we win it all most likely Brunson will win the finals MVP but this whole post season run has happened because KAT completely changed his game and unlocked this team. Not just with the passing and opening up the offense for everyone else but also becoming a good defender! I mean since when does that happen for a player this late in his career? It’s fucking beautiful to watch.
4
They woke up and were closing out 3s. San Antonio didn’t have much but foul shots after that.
2
How good are they?
They were rusty.
But they played elite D and still won by 10.
1
My cat is confused and wants breakfast bc I am still up.
Feed the cat, he deserves it… the Knicks are in the Finals and we have the lead !! How amazing is that?
2
Hey Becky, this one’s for you and in San Antonio of all places !!!
3
KAT postgame comments were great
We didn’t even play that well
5
Knicks made them work and kept attacking. Wemby got to them early but once they settled down it was a different game
3
I like to think Breen told the ESPN director to put up the shot of the Hammon banner late as a perfect visual troll on behalf of those of us in the know.
7
Mikal has for the most part played like a guy worth those picks (though he was relatively quiet on offense tonight)
100%
3
The Knicks didn’t play well for 3.25 quarters and then woke up.
1
For all of the talk about who the Knicks had to stop Wembayana, he sure did have a poor shooting night. If he’s at a minus +/- for the night, San Antonio loses by double digits.
This team is unbelievable. What a joy!
3
The Knicks didn’t play well for 3.25 quarters and then woke up.
We’re a 4th quarter team as all championship teams are
Genuinely moved by KAT’s post game comments. At people have said, a 180 from where I was on him a year ago….or even six months ago
3
Feed the cat, he deserves it…
Ho fatto esattamente questo. Ciao ragazzi. Alla prossima partita!
5
For all of the talk about who the Knicks had to stop Wembayana, he sure did have a poor shooting night. If he’s at a minus +/- for the night, San Antonio loses by double digits.
Dude kinda sucked when he wasn’t getting fouled
2
We won without playing particularly well. This tells you a lot. If Hart hadn’t gotten into foul trouble early, and if we had controlled Champagnie from the start, this wouldn’t have been a close game.
I am sure the media will keep playing the Wemby tune for two more days, but they will be forced to change it once we get game 2 on Friday and go up 2-0 in the series!
2
How am I supposed to fall asleep now?
3
Dude kinda sucked when he wasn’t getting fouled
Shai Wembayana
2
This is such a well composed team. Nothing fazes them. Down 14? Just chip away and tie it at the end of the quarter. Down 1 with two minutes to go? Fight for extra possessions and Captain clutch nails a 3.
I am in awe and believe we are never out of a game
4
How am I supposed to fall asleep now?
Just open another bottle of wine! It’s worth it! 😂 We have been waiting for more than half a century for this!
4
13 foul shots for Wemby. No Knick had more than 4.
2
Ho fatto esattamente questo. Ciao ragazzi. Alla prossima partita!
Wow, italian is such a beautiful language 🙂

I’ve been a die-hard fan of the Knicks since 1978 (when I was 8).
Through Michael Ray & Sugar Ray in the backcourt.
Bill Cartwright
The glory of Bernard King’s dominance (he should have been named “Furious Styles”)
Through the Ewing Lottery.
Through the King injury.
Until tonight, I never felt confidence when games were tied going into the 4Q.
This team (and sharing it with my daughter) makes this year the best time I have ever known to be a Knicks fan!
12
Brunson with 31 points on 30 shots
You know who used to have inefficient clutch playoff games like that on a regular basis?
The late great Kobe Bryant

Knicks had 8 turnovers as a team, Wemby had 6 just by himself.
2
KAT with a beautiful postgame monologue about his mother and the ease with which he suited up tonight. Wow.
A postgame interview has never made emotional like that before. That was his heart and soul.
2
Brunson with 31 points on 30 shots

The playoffs are not to be efficient, the playoffs are to win the games no matter what

Only other athlete I’ve ever had that feeling of surety about was Mariano Rivera in a save situation.
Apparently Wemby after the game said he’s not worried in the slightest, he’s low key a pretty arrogant prick…
5
Again, Wemby is seeing to strong centers. KAT and Mitch were pushing him around.
3
I was recording a band and couldn’t really watch without being incredibly rude. But that’s okay, because even periodically checking my phone was giving me heart palpitations. I may have actually died if I watched this from start to finish.
2
Interesting postgame interviews and comments.
Love KAT’s touching monologue.
Fun moment with Barkley and Shaq bickering over Wemby’s aggression level.
2
You know for all of this talk about how this was a close game and the Knicks didn’t play so well….the first quarter was the only quarter where Spurs outscored the Knicks.
1
You were not kidding about KAT’s interview. That was really touching.
Still in awe of Josh getting 15 boards in 26 minutes when he’s like the 2nd or 3rd shortest player on the floor.
1
oddly predictable, right…in a really good way…
June 3, 2026 at 11:44
sticking with knicks in six…because I like the way it sounds…
thinking we get down big in the first quarter, fight our way back a bit in the second, catch them in the 3rd…
captain clutch and the get fresh crew to close ’em out in the 4th…
probably more a wish than actual thought…
caught up in the rapture…
think I got it now: Captain Clutch and the Stay Clutch Crew
2
oh yeah, that’s 12 in a row…what a tourney run…
wow, the spurs are going to come out even harder in game 2 on friday – that may not be enough for them to beat this team…
hart and OG on castle is a big issue for them…new and improved thunder KAT and mitch on wemby seems to be not too terrible for us at all…
wow, we are those guys…
1
The vibes outside MSG right now seem immaculate.
2
I’m not even worried. Should’ve bet it all in the Knicks with a reasonably sized bet on Knicks in 4
Knicks had 8 turnovers as a team, Wemby had 6 just by himself.
One thing I found was that the weakest 4F the Spurs had was forcing turnovers. Which I thought they did at a good rate the first half.
1
You know for all of this talk about how this was a close game and the Knicks didn’t play so well….the first quarter was the only quarter where Spurs outscored the Knicks.
Yeah, exactly. The Knicks just flat out BEAT the Spurs tonight.
1
I hear you, Alan. I’m lucky that I live on the west coast because there’s no way I can go to sleep after this.
1
Apart from the game itself, how the Knicks solved a few things in the second half, etc – Mitch looked mostly like himself, which is a major win for the series.
KAT outplayed Wemby and I’m tired of the media pretending he didn’t.
Was blowing past him at will.
2
Fuck yay
Sportscenter with SVP is only talking this game…im basking in the gibberish…Jeremy Lin is a good studio analyst
Jose Alvarado was massive in the stretch when we didn’t know if Brunson was truly hurt. They were discombobulated before he came in, and he quickly stabilized things and got them back on track.
This guy will have a completely different reputation after this run.
Just got back to my San Antonio home (my second home away from queens). There were about 7 thousand knicks fans in house tonight. We were loud pregame, loud early game. Then a lot of quiet. We know how to act when the team is losing or struggling. Then the Knicks made the late 3rd quarter charge and eventually put it over the top late 4th quarter. Back breaking Brunson 3. Cap struggled all game. Seemingly injured twice. Missed shots he normally makes. But always coming through when it counts. The Knicks did not play their best basketball. They were sloppy and the offense seemed to slow down with less ball movement. Yeah, and they trailed most of the game. Yet they still pulled it through. Very encouraging. My prediction of knicks in five stands. This was a top-tier sports experience because I was there with my 11-year-old son. I plan on going to game 2. Flying back to NYC on Saturday with my kids for the summer. They usually hang with my parents in Queens. I’m gonna either attend a watch party for game three in Manhattan. Or maybe try to get into game three somehow. Let’s see what happens. Let’s go Knicks. Ecstasy.
2
1. Wemby gets tired. That’s a secret weapon to exploit.
2. I’m not sure how much of our subpar offense was their defense vs. rust vs randomness, but I think we can play better.
3. Alvarado was an unsung hero off the bench.
4. KAT blowing by Wemby was a surprise. Wemby even guarding KAT was a bit of a surprise. They may change that.
5. It’s time I get greedy and go all out for game 2. No let ups.
6. Brunson had a terrible game until he had a great few minutes.
7. OG hit some huge shots.
8. Hart was the best version of himself.
9. Shamet still shooting well.
10. Mitch looks fine (thank God)
11. MIkal was quiet but good.
12. Deuce was fine.
If the Knicks come back to NYC up 2-0, Zohran should declare a city holiday. It would be mayhem.
Also, they would put some real doubt in the Spurs’ heads.
