    … bears repeating …

Reporter: What is it about this team when you guys are down big that you guys don’t quit?

KAT: I mean it’s something that’s in the city. You feel that energy in the city. The grit. The grind. The hard work you gotta put in to make it in this city. I think we reflect our fans and their lifestyles and what it takes to make it in New York City when we step on that court with a Knicks jersey.

Good morning everyone. The NY Knicks are up 1-0 in the NBA Finals! Have a wonderful day!

It’s only one game, but gotdammit I’m proud of the guys. I expected the rust, but at the same time- the Spurs are not the Cavs or Sixers. So for them to fight the way they did is very encouraging. I love what KAT said after the game when he said something about going into every game like the series is 0-0. That would explain the calm resilience.

Knicks love aside, I gotta say- Wembanyama is a PROBLEM. That stretch in the 3rd where he seemingly altered every shot and got every rebound reminded me of a young Mitch, but better. We might be better off focusing on the ancillary pieces because we can’t stop that kid. He’s too good…and I don’t say that often. I think I’ve only said that about Jordan, AI, Bron, Kobe, Joker, and LA Shaq

We’ve now won 12 straight playoff games and have not lost a game in 41 days. Let that sink in.

And this is against playoff teams, there are no Wiz or Kings sprinkled in there

Totally mind boggling and just freaking awesome.

Good god, the pace of these
threads. We went from being the Fratello Cavs to the D’Antoni Suns.

    1

Also, what happened was rich karmic retribution for that music they played in our intro. Someone said disrespectful in the game thread and that was 100% correct.

Crazy that the organization that has been to the finals multiple times in the last 20 years is the one that doesn’t know how to act on thst stage.

the Spurs are not the Cavs or Sixers

The Cavs were much better in game 1 against us than the Spurs were. They were on the road, and we had to be perfect in the 4Q. The spurs were at home, and we didn’t even shoot well last night.

At some point people are going to have to stop acting like these teams we beat suck just bc we beat them.

like CP would say, it wasn’t pretty but it was gritty.

mea culpa here – at some point this season I think I must’ve had some sort of a psychotic break and suggested that the Knicks should trade KAT straight up for Lebron. No one ever let me anywhere near any basketball decision-making role.

KAT was absolutely fantastic — a beast on the glass, gave them just enough offense against Wemby when Wemby was snuffing everything else out, made some really nice passes (sweet cut by Shamet and great find by KAT).

Josh Hart just teleports to contested rebounds. I do not know how it is possible that he gets some of these over dudes way bigger than he is.

    Huge minutes by Alvarado.

We are really uniquely set up to defend this Spurs team with 3 legitimate Wemby defenders, our 3 wings, and with Fox not himself, the Spurs don’t have the lightning quick guard that our defenders have trouble with.

Meanwhile, I still do not understand why Mitch Johnson didn’t put Wemby on Hart more.

Spurs ORTG in the clutch these playoffs: 96/100.

    And the Knicks have Jalen.

Just get to a close game in the 4th and I like our chances.
