2025-26 Game Thread: Knicks @ Mavericks

Well, talk about some good timing!

The Knicks head to Dallas to take on one of the most pathetic franchises in the league right now. To be fair, they are suffering a lot of injuries, including both of their superstar players, but still, even healthy they don’t seem much more than a #5/6 seed.

What a terrible trade they made.

Okay, so this should be an easy win. Maybe Brown can give Kolek some burn!

Let’s go, Knicks!

58 sure would be great.

if the warrior can beat the heat with this lineup then we really do suck to have lost to them twice

Confirmed Lineup
PG B. Podziemski
SG Will Richard
SF Moses Moody
PF Gui Santos
C T. Jackson-Davis

MAY NOT PLAY
F J. Butler Out
G S. Curry Out
C D. Green Out
C Al Horford Out
F J. Kuminga Out
G D. Melton Out

the math on reducing to 66 games is:
16 games * $6,700,000 (average revenue per game) * 30 teams = $3,216,000,000
So yeah, I get it.

With fewer meaningless games, though, maybe more people will attend and tune into the games that aren’t phased out?

Also, what’s your source for AR/G? I see the Warriors as having the highest AR/G at $6.7M.

and now the faux warriors *are* beating miami:

I didn’t realize how well Reed Sheppard was playing…loved him at draft time but man he looked pretty bad last year. After a slow start, he’s posting a .733 TS% in November, and a 5.5 BPM overall. Maybe they won’t miss FVV that much after all!

The Rockets are going to be very dangerous.

Kinda bummed Jalen may play: 1) I’d love him getting more rest to heal; 2) Dallas sucks right now, so hopefully no need for the Cap; and 3) would like to see Kolek do badly so I can stop pining to see him play. Or, you know, the alternative.

Maybe keep Jalen on the bench until the 4th quarter in case it’s close and we need The Closer. Otherwise he can cheer.

That’ll happen.

If we don’t get our first road win of the year tonight Big Blue Al’s gonna sing fado for Thibs.

(That was for you, Cyber 😉)

why hasnt this game started yet

finally just did only 18 minutes late

donnie happy that pacers got their second win yay

Nah I’m actually very happy with Mike Brown so far but it’s fun calling for Thibs to return after every Knicks loss.

Hart passing up an open 3 to slam a floater off the backboard is a throwback to the opening week

Towns missing that foul shot by a mile does not bode well for him for the rest of the game…

Do these guys realize you are supposed to try get the ball in the hoop?

I’m not sure they realize there is a hoop

This is the worst game Knicks have played all season, they’re lucky the Mavs are just awful.

Brown is going to have to pull out the “let’s see how we deal with adversity” speech for the post game presser

Somehow the defense has been awful despite the Mavs having 44 with under 4 minutes left in the half

I don’t know how you can be winning a game in which you are shooting 3-21 from deep and 9-15 from the FT line, but here we are.

Alright just pull away in the 2nd half and keep the streak of all wins by at least 8 pts alive so I can fall asleep relaxed.

I have a funny feeling we’d be losing this game if Davis, Irving and Flagg were playing. 🤫

We are going to give up 110-115 points to a team without a #1, #2 or #3 option. Something better change defensively or we aren’t going anywhere.

I mean Brown isn’t the one missing wide-open 3s and FTs, but our defensive game plan doesn’t look so good.

Out lack of athleticism is a real problem…they are going over, around, and through us, and contesting every shot on the defensive end.

We still might pull this one out, but not feeling good about what I’m seeing.

Nico didn’t go far enough, should’ve traded AD, Kyrie, and their 1st overall pick

$53M is an awful lot of money for a guy whose most notable trait over the last 2 games is being our 2nd best rebounder

We played against a bunch of scrubs. We played them even. I am not sure this is good…

This team reminds me of David Fizdale’s Knicks at times, if you know what I mean. Once again, it’s early. Game 14 out of 82. Not that I’m very optimistic, but we still have a bit of time to get it together.

Worst win of the season. Pathetic effort. No respect for the opponent, who were short-handed. Brown needs to run a free-throw clinic in practice. Embarrassing.

Nothing to celebrate about this win. Let’s pretend this never happened and move on

That’s about as bad a win as we can get.

We are going to have bad nights shooting. That’s part of the game. But a team crushed by injuries like Dallas is supposed score 90-95 points against a decent defense, pace or not. Dallas is missing their 2 best players, #1 pick rookie that’s starting to figure it out and 2 other rotation players. All Dallas put on the court was offensive role players and defensive guys. At times they drove to hoop when they wanted and got open looks from outside. Our defense is a joke. OG can’t get back fast enough. Does he have a brother?

even tho in some ways it was some sort of vindication of our heartbreaking loss that we should have won against miami on monday nite we did not deserve this one and ironically our first road win of the season was most definitely also our worst overall win of the season

It was a terrible game, but two positives I found were 1) Brunson is back and, after a beginning where he looked completely out of sync, seemed to get back in the groove and be normal Brunson and 2) our bench was alright. The bench played 91 minutes, gave us basically a nine man rotation (plus a little bit of Diawara), scored 39 points and had a pretty good plus minus.

I don’t understand what’s going on with Diawara playing two minutes a game the last two games. Maybe Brown is letting him acclimate slowly.

Of course one of the rare times I had to get up early to go in to work. At least it wasn’t a devastating loss, or worse, a double-OT loss!

Still well within the grace period, so not gonna get all that worked up about it. But shit needs to start improving, especially on the defensive end. And I hate to say it, but I’m looking forward to the day when I no longer have to sweat through the utter ugliness of a Mitch FT.

there are very few perfect players yes mitchs free throw attempts are generally very ugly but he also does a lot of very pretty things that not many other players can do on a consistent basis im glad hes a knick
