BIG KAT!

KAT may sucks on D but He’s fkn Ewingesque on Offense!
Huge Balls at the end!
HUGE!!!

we lost our minds so thoroughly here the 11 year old sheepdog did a wellness check. holy hell we were beat and then we weren’t.

kat had two historic makes but jalen saved this game. watch how much space hart covers on the cry more play. one second tobias is grabbing his arm on the orb the next mikal fumbles and hart is jumping past the sidelines. mitch turned in a single stationary radius during the entire span. damn would it have been painful to lose with timmy making free throws at 0.0 from that effort.

Right before KAT’s last minutes onslaught 2 stray cats approached me and i promised them to feed them something nice if we win! They did their magic as it seemed!

also i may be the only one but i was screaming two for one when we had it side out with 37 seconds left up 1.

Hart has to much experience to risk something like that.

They could’ve called it , but Detroit got away with stuff in this game

* Wally says foul on postgame

I didn’t get to see this one and I’m now catching up on the game thread, and…

We stole this one. We really have no right to complain about any calls again in this series. That was an EGREGIOUS blown call. Josh Hart is a lucky man.

Reff is right there watching closely.
Calling this kind of contact in the end of a game like that wouldn’t be tough. Especially for the Home team but he seems very sure for his decision.

#Wally says foul on postgame#

If he doesn’t say *Outstanding* Foul then it doesn’t count!!!

Reposting from the game thread:

It was a clear foul, even if THJR was foul baiting (or “selling”) a little bit.

And like dozens during the game, mostly by Detroit, these fucking refs didn’t whistle it.

KAT was mauled all game long, he went to the line one time.
Brunson was scientifically grabbed and tripped and pulled (and injured) since the jump ball, he shot 2 FTs.

In the first half of the third the refs let at least 20 fouls go, between the two teams, causing havoc and confrontations, they were horrible, unprofessional or simply stupid.

So their bad call on the last play is perfectly in line with the shitty refereeing they did all night.

And the Pistons, who’s game plan is “they can’t call them all” (like the Magic), get a taste of their own medicine.
Some people call it karma.

Hart has to much experience to risk something like that.

He did the same in the regular season against Atlanta (the “hair game”) and that time we lost the game because the refs called it.
He’ll probably never learn, he was very lucky this time.

Yeah, it’s a terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible play by Hart, but hey, again, better lucky than good sometimes!

What an amazing win.

Things are really set up very well for the Knicks right now. Just finish Detroit up in Game 5, then rest up, and take on a concussed Celtics in the next round.

Yeah, it’s like his brain turns off. Hart had a clear chance to avoid body contact on that final play. Very lucky ..

Hart is way above average at three things.

1 . Rebounding
2. Extreme hustle plays
3. Low IQ potentially game blowing plays

Yeah, Hart clearly jumped into his space. THJ “sought out contact” in the sense that he saw a moron throwing himself on him, and figured it was an easy way to get three free throws.

Marechal, Hart jumps into his space ..

Here’s what Hollinger says:

This was a foul a few years ago, but they changed it because dudes like Kelly Olynyk were jumping into full horizontal “shooting” motion to grift 3-shot fouls. Now you have yo go up normal.

“WHEW!” Doesn’t even begin to describe it. I think I lost a ventricle this game. I don’t even know if that’s physically possible, but fuck it- I’m goin with that lol

I hope Randle stays with the T-Wolves. He’s playing really well for them. They have a very good team. They need a young PG to replace Conley and have to hope McDaniels develops into a consistent 3rd option, but they are a pretty serious team. They are very close to being a serious contender.

That last shot by DDV reminded of the altercation between him and Rick Brunson about DDV not being able to finish. 🤪

also i may be the only one but i was screaming two for one when we had it side out with 37 seconds left up 1.

I was explaining to my mother before the in-bounds what a 2-for-1 was and why Smart Brunson was going to shoot within 10 seconds so that no matter what we’d get the ball back….

From CPTheFranchise on X

Brunson injury was a leg pinch not ankle. Got taped and is good to go.

It seems extreeeeeeeeemely hard to see them not winning this in five now. That was a BACK-BREAKING loss right there.

Briaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!

Right before KAT’s last minutes onslaught 2 stray cats approached me and i promised them to feed them something nice if we win! They did their magic as it seemed!

Now it makes sense the refs didn’t call the foul… they didn’t want to be the reason the cats weren’t eating something today. 😉

crazy

What the fuck are you doing as a parent to have your kid do that shit?

I don’t know if people have been paying attention to what’s going on in the Celtics and Magic series. Read some of the quotes, the Celtics are getting mauled and multiple guys are getting banged up. If we can close out, we could get them pretty wounded.

Good for the refs to own the blown call. I hate when they try to lie about it.

Suck it, Detroit!

Randle showing strong ability to play good in the playoffs without Thibs

Ugh, it looks like Lebron may have broken Ant’s ligaments.

Edit: and much like Brunson, he’s back on his feet.

I’m telling you cyber, these little devils are magical!
😉

I don’t buy the “no call” complaints. Perfect no call.

At the end of Game 3, we ALL SAW the Refs and the Scorer’s Table award a CLEARLY illegal “last chance” shot to Detroit.

If they had ONCE AGAIN ended Game 4 with a last second call to give Detroit an extra chance, the NBA bias would be PLAIN as DAY.

Good no call. On to Tuesday at MSG.

Randle showing strong ability to play good in the playoffs without Thibs

He had a couple of brain farts on defense, but it’s interesting that he’s playing so much smarter on offense away from Thibs.

Detroit also got one of the best whistles I’ve ever seen a road team get in game 2. I’m not buying the bias but there’s been a lot of incompetence and it’s largely favored them.

The thing is, none of that stuff was as big a story as this. So the narrative is gonna be “Detroit got robbed”, and that’s likely going to inform the ref’s bias in game 5 towards evening things out.

The way Detroit and Orlando play plus the actual lack of real basketball talent they have outside of Cade, Banchero/Franz is why I don’t see them as real teams of the future in the East.

Knicks just announced the passing of Dick Barnett. I obviously never saw those teams play but I know guys like Z-Man have so always sucks to lose the few players who are still alive from the championship teams.

I can def see the Magic rising they just need shooting in the back court.

Yeah, Orlando is weird in that they have so few good players that they can improve a lot by just adding some decent vets.

Detroit is different in that they’ve gotten a lot of help from their vets. So there’s less room to grow there.

If this TY Jerome guy is for real the Magic should look into him . Cavs are about to lose him after Mobley just got an extra 40 million because he won DPOY.

Even Grimes makes sense

Barnett was a less heralded member of the ’69 champions and played an important role in the Lakers series guarding Jerry West and letting Clyde play free safety more. His fall back baby jumper is etched in the hard drive of my mind.

Randle had a great 1st half but he’s been pretty brutal in the 2nd half.

Detroit is different in that they’ve gotten a lot of help from their vets. So there’s less room to grow there.

A lot of room for external improvement, though. With all their picks, tradable contracts, and lots of cap space in’26, a smart GM can turn this team into a championship caliber team within 18 months.

A lot of room for external improvement, though.

True. I don’t mean to speak poorly of Detroit, it’s just that Orlando has succccccccccch a thin roster, ya know? Gary Harris is barely an NBA player! So is Cory Joseph, and Joseph freakin’ starts for them!

The Lakers have a terrific offensive potential with Luka, James and Reeves, but they have no interior defense and a highly suspect perimeter defense. At least they play hard.

Jaden Ivey was improving for the Pistons before the injury. Cade is not done getting better. Duren will get better. They have plenty of upside.

I’m already tired of this foul discussion. One bad call is almost never the reason you lost. There are dozens of missed or bad calls in every game.

Chuck may be right that in this matchup the T-Wolves are better off going small. Gobert is so bad on offense he can’t take advantage of any size mismatch and the T-Wolves are tougher to cover small.

Lakers will get Lively from the Mavs for Dalton Knecht

RIP Dick Barnett. One of the greats….

I loved Dick Barnett when I was boy. RIP

Lakers bench is just as bad as ours

JJ did not play a single reserve in the second half. All starters played 24 minutes.

Also, we were discussing most underrated players recently.

For me, Naz Reid has to be right up there, maybe #1

I went to watch the final play again and the one thing that stood out is how terribly Josh Hart boxes out Harris. He’s got completely dominant position, that should have been an easy defensive rebound and free throw attempts the other way. And that was before he flew out and committed an obvious foul. Really terrible work from Hart there, he got away with two game losing plays. If we’re lucky, maybe the L2M will cite Harris for the slight hold before he kept the rebound alive.

Yeah…that box out was weak…

How is White underrated…he freaking played on the Olympic team…

The game is over. Let’s not perpetuate the media fixating on one blown call. It doesn’t change brunson dragging the knicks back from the dead after being injured and KaT making incredible shots. Tim was super lucky to even have the ball slow roll out to him in the first place, and lots of blown calls including missed flagrants to go around

Biggest thing for me in these two road games was the resilience….didn’t see it coming…with Brunson..sure you know what hes about…no doubt…but Kat earned his stripes today…I can’t tell how much OG was bothering cade or cade just missed a few big shots.

I guess big picture it’s good for us but when you want them to beat the Celtics it’s so frustrating that the Magic don’t have anyone who can shoot a basketball even a little bit anywhere on their roster.

Hilarious anyone could even imagine an argument where the league would conspire on the side of Detroit.

Never assume malice when incompetence is on the table. (Also, the refs are human and have an impossible job…)

What the fuck are you doing as a parent to have your kid do that shit?

The kid probably watches tons of Nelk Boys or a host of other shithead prank streamers

Josh Hart as an energy guy who comes in and makes attacking plays off the bench and pitches in with some good rebounding: yay

Josh Hart as a guy who basically never leaves the floor and is #2 in the league in minutes and who plays 42 minutes in a playoff game: boo

This is just too much goddamn Josh Hart

To be honest, I didn’t even like the call that they overturned on LeBron with that special cam. Fucking game is a wrestling match all day and when you put it on instant replay that he slapped the wrist yeah ok technically it’s a foul but cmon man. Didn’t like that at all. And I absolutely detest the Lakers.

Since Boston will most likely end their series on Tuesday it would behoove the Knicks to do the same so they’ll have equal rest as Boston before rd 2.
