2024-25 Game Thread: Knicks vs. 76ers – Trouble With the Process

The Knicks get another nice schedule break with hosting the Sixers, who are tanking hard after their season exploded on them due to injuries and poor play when “healthy.”

So this should be a fun game to see some of the Knicks’ younger guys getting some burn.

Let’s go, Knicks!

The Dylan song is “Diamond Joe,” which is a traditional song that Dylan did his own particular spin to, off of Good as I Been to You, the first of two songs filled with classic folk songs that Dylan did his own unique arrangements of, that seemed like a sign that Dylan’s career was headed towards the toilet, but then he followed them up with the Grammy-winning Album of the Year, Time Out of Mind.

You know what? I still don’t really like his style, but Wally doesn’t annoy the hell out of me all the time anymore.

Maybe I’m just getting weak.

…But I adore Monica.

Mitch gets the start, which makes sense given the jump ball to start. Hopefully he won’t go for more than 21 minutes or so…

Looking forward to watching this game with my best friend, Me.

Mitch currently averaging 72 rebounds per 36 in this game…

Delon looks very comfortable shooting the three. And making them. He’s at 35% for his career, which is perfectly mid.

I’m wondering if this is about it being April 1… it’s okay though, I’m happy to just keep chatting. Me is a great companion.

I thought Thibs was a loon for calling a challenge, but the replay seems to show Grimes just throwing himself to the floor. Which in itself is kind of weird…

That’s funny, foul gets switched from Mikal to Delon, but that makes it a successful challenge.

If I may paraphrase BBA, we’re suddenly playing like ass.

Watching a Knicks team trying to play offense without Brunson and KAT isn’t very fun.

Alright guys, glad a few of you showed up. I’m off to Little Raven’s PT, so feel free to take over…

Trying to muster up negativity but let’s be serious Knicks gonna win this game easily.

Marvin Bagley has a kid in the NBA?

Mitch can hit free throws? My head is spinning

That’s of course not Marvin Bagley’s kid. It’s his brother. Marvin is 26, and Marcus is 23. I hope you were kidding. 🙂

And I’m likely older than you.

Mitch on pace for 28 and 14.

There is no better barometer of my excitement about the Knicks than Mitch’s statline.

I am extremely happy right now.

Also, the Sixers are trash

a brunson/KAT led offensive machine put us up at the top of the league, a OG and mitch defense first squad may make us a contender, add in an engaged mikal, anything goes…

hopefully deuce comes back with a healthy groin and is ready to dig in on 94 feet of defense, and we can keep throwing guys at whoever the bucks use to bring up the ball…

the OG/giannis match up could be real interesting if OG can somehow prevail…

mitch back there by the rim is a very encouraging sight…

i hope this means that the next game mitch plays he is our starting center…

hopefully KAT has just one more game of starting for the knicks at center (excluding any upcoming back to backs)…

edit:

clyde: a little overzealous

in reference to josh hart…

mike: and suddenly it’s a close game

ouch…

You know those three ladies hanging by the end of the sixers bench are ready for some post game parteeeeing

Precious is turrible

That’s what he used to be. He’s moved beyond that recently.

Preseason Shamet is a worthwhile guy, but he’s been so inconsistent I doubt we can trust him in the playoffs.

Put this version of OG and Shamet in bubble wrap until the playoffs. 😉

OG is not going to have as easy a time going to the hoop tomorrow against the Cavs. He better bring the 3 ball.

Jesus, Thibs, put in some bench guys already.

It’s suuuuuper weird.

Weird off night for Bridges and Precious. But the rest of the crew and especially Mitch, OG and Shamet, look dialed in for the post season. Feels like Brunson’s absence has been a mixed blessing, forcing Thibs to give these guys enough burn to find their groove. Just wish we had 20 more games to give Brunson and Deuce time to find their flow with everyone before the playoffs.

Precious might’ve just played the worst game ever by a Knicks player in a victory.

We rag on Leon a fair bit but the perfomance of the rest of the roster has been pretty solid with KAT and Brunson out.

It’s a reasonable group.

He bench played 84 minutes and scored 29 points and had a good plus minus. I’m ok with that.
