The Knicks host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a game neither team is all that interested in winning, so, well, I dunno, man, I guess we just hope that Jalen Brunson gets some nice minutes to show off his stuff? We won’t even get to see Mitch and KAT play together, as KAT is taking the game off.
This could have been a really cool game, but now it’s all pretty meaningless.
Let’s go, Knicks, I guess?

Both teams have most of their usual starters playing, Okoro starting for Mitchell and Mitch starting for KAT.
You know how they used to say that the brontosaurus had a little brain in its tail? I’m convinced KAT has little brains in his hands. You watch when he goes up for a driving layup or a hook shot or whatever, and it’s clear his hands are figuring out what to do at the last moment in a way that most players don’t/can’t do. Shifting to put it off the glass, holding for a second to let the defense move past, flicking it in from an angle.
On the other hand, this also might explain why he often has brain-dead plays, as perhaps a human is only allowed so much computing power.
Game 82 of the season should always be at MSG
Stroman is awful and he complained about being in the bullpen ..
Og reborn
OG is doing some fun stuff out there.
Jeez….mitch gets gassed quickly
Yankees are making me appreciate more the current Knicks…
Josh Hart not shooting 3’s isn’t the answer . Teams are going to their Center on him. How will the Knicks counter that..
Mitch is a very big man.
Deuce!
OG seems to not be able to make a layup again
Jalen showing he might work well off ball
Knicks want the 3 seed!
Seems like OG was just mugged under the basket? I’m surprised they didn’t replay it
So good to have Mitch doing his thing
In the spirit of the overreaction to last night’s meaningless loss, I’m going to say that the Cavs want no part of us in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Definitely taking and making more threes tonight and I am a fan
If we can get out of the first round and a couple celtics get hurt we have a shot at cleveland in the conference finals if Mitchell decides not to play
Well we’ll always have this first quarter…
Pacers obviously tanking for the 4th seed
Good bulletin board material for the Bucks
Maybe we should in fact shoot the three more often…
Looks like the Knicks were more annoyed by last night’s loss than even I was.
Not only are the Cavs resting players, but also those on the floor don’t look very much interested in playing.
How come Shamet is open every time?
Paloma Dadiet minutes
Another reason to love Breen. He’s a Met’s fan.
Mike Breen will definitely be going to heaven when the time comes, not a bad bone in his body
hi raven, don’t make me look this up…just go ahead and let me know you were fairly faded one time while watching jurassic park late night and that’s like some made up stuff…
Another reason to love Breen. Going on touchingly about Parkinson’s.
Hart with his brain fart.
Here comes the usual final few mins of the 2nd quarter Knicks collapse.
Both teams lazy and sloppy right now. Annoying.
I wonder how many points we’ll be down by in the 4th…
Michael J Fox easily one of my favorite actors ever.
josh and mikal will look like they’re coasting for like three quarters of some games…
Geo, sorry, first it was Stegosaurus, and no, as I suggested in my post, it’s an old hypothesis since proven wrong.
But watch KAT’s hands next time he plays. They’re like separate organisms living at the end of his wrists, operating in tandem but independently with the rest of KAT’s body.
If they do that it means KAT or Mitch are not being guarded by a center and the opposing team’s center is probably not near the basket. That should give us some opportunities down low.
I love when Mitch and Deuce are on the court together.
The Cavs were shooting terribly in the first quarter. It’s not surprising that didnt last.
What Knicks Fan says. If, you know, our coach plays to that.
Looks like we have the third seed wrapped up regardless.
They want no part of the Celtics. They just wanted home court in the first round.
okay, probably gonna need to expand the animal/insect kingdom quite a bit, now wondering what if any creatures have a brain located outside of some sort of cranial cavity…
jelly fish, or som other aquatic creature?
This Mike Breen Scooby Doo NYC marathon story is amazing.
Nice low IQ possession there.
Really enjoyed the Scooby Doo story also
Knicks look like a three day balloon so far in the second half
yuck, spiders…of course, it’s always something: spiders…octopus to a degree(?)…
was thinking about that huge subterranean fungus around oregon, aware and intentional maybe, that and the fungus stuff that co-exists with ants, very aware and intentional stuff…
Somebody should tell the Knicks they no longer can tank to the 4th seed so might as well try to win this game instead of embarrassing themselves again in the 2nd half…
Thibs is pissed…
Close and physical game in Detroit. Looks like neither team wants to be in the Knicks and Boston bracket.
As soon as the Pacers’ game ends, Thibs should just bench the starters. Not to prevent injury, but as a response to their laissez -faire effort.
Jordan Brink needs a big raise
let OG cook…
credit to the knicks for holding on to the lead thru the 3rd…
magic over the pacers…
let’s get ready to check out some dee-troit basketball…
hopefully we can use our bench and make it through them healthy…
You have to want to face the Pacers over the Knicks. You have to!
I think they should really go for the win just to stop that stupid fucking 0-7 shit.
Payne-McBride-Shamet-Hart-Achiuwa is like the lineup you play if you’re trying to lose on purpose
Who has the ugliest J- Joakim Noah, Kevin Duckworth, Bill Cartwright, or Cam Payne?
LOL
Pistons licking their chops right now…
Shamet will take us home
Apparently the Pacers didn’t want to be in the Knicks/Boston bracket either.
X factors heading into the playoffs:
– The OG resurgence
– Mitch rounding into form
– Shamet becoming a very useful bench piece
we should beat the pistons in 6 or less…
The Pacers think the best chance to get back to the ECF is to play the Cavs.
They may also play a Lillard less Bucks
Not a bad draw
Payne is trending towards DNP-CD come playoff time while Shamet looks like he really wants playoff minutes.
This team is so dumb I almost hope they get knocked out in the first round just so I don’t have to watch them anymore.
Can’t wait to watch us lose in 5 to Detroit.
This is painful
This is embarrassing.
Bridges is not moving well.
They’re in the lead! This is fine!
For a team that won 50 games, these guys have a very low fun factor
Yeah if we lose this game we’re pretty much fucked in round 1.
Hahn said it on his radio show today, this team doesn’t seem to play with any swag or fun anymore. Vibes just seem way off.
DDV and I-Hart gave this team good vibes. Now they are a team that isn’t ‘connected to each other and some have other agendas maybe hoping for a trade away from this coach [Bridges].
We’ll always have the first quarter…
I’m sorry man but this is fucking sad to watch…
How weak…we put our starters in to win…and they can’t…
Oh well Pistons in 4.
If we could have only pulled this one out we could have swept em. Fuck.
Brunson has no explosion right now.
Cleveland has done this to teams all season.
I know this is an exaggeration but it feels like Knicks won’t win another game until next season…
These guys look like a bunch of stiffs.
They’re not even in the vicinity of opposing shooters most of the time, then when they get the ball it’s all desperate no-hope low efficiency drives to the basket.
Sorry y’all but these guys ain’t winning shit. This is not a well coached team.
Wait we play Brooklyn on Sunday I take that back!
That is my biggest concern right now.
KAT clutch play is my other biggest concern.

Jesus OG
How the fuck does OG not even hit rim on that layup???
sigh
This team sure seems to fall apart in the fourth quarter a lot. This wasn’t just a matter of shots not falling, they had the starters in and played truly godawful basketball on both ends.
Brunson’s Defense is a gonna be a problem during tight games. It’s pretty awful right now.
And I see nothing in our offense execution in the 4th that good teams can’t stop.
As mentioned before really bad vibes for a 50 team. I want to see the roster develop more rather than a trade. I have no patience with this coach anymore. I want him gone. Jenkins or Malone would be an improvement…am I wrong?
Worn out team
1 – by a lot of minutes

Knicks should kidnap Johnnie Bryant.
Dan Hurley
It’s a good thing some of us aren’t on the court right now with the Knicks players lol
JJ Redick is a rookie coach and better than Thibs. Let go of the old guard.
The Cavs didn’t come to play, the Knicks went up by 23 but then started playing with their food, allowed the Cavs to hang around, and paid the price. They showed that they wanted to win this game at the end but just couldn’t pull it off. This is what makes it embarrassing.
This has been a recurring pathology with this roster all season long. When the opposing team ups its intensity and energy down the stretch, the Knicks have no answers. They can neither execute offensively, nor get critical stops.
Once they haven’t fixed this by game 81, there are serious reasons to worry about the playoffs.
We’ll always have the first quarter….
I really don’t understand those defending Thibs anymore. Did he change the culture and got the Knicks back to their winning ways? Yes and will be forever grateful for that. But just like in Chicago and Minnesota his stubbornness and lack of innovation makes his teams predictable and have only a solid floor, no ceiling.
Bud won a chip with Bucks. Gone after a year. Malone with Nuggets. Almost after two years. Vogel another. Jenkins took Memphis to the West Finals a couple of years ago. All good coaches. Why do we need to stick to Thibs? Because Brunson loves him? He’ll get over it…
1. They are a dead tired team going into the playoffs at the same time other teams are just starting to reach their peak.
2. The offense is comically bad again. They run no plays and have gone back to dribbling with little sensible player or ball movement.
3. The defense is comically bad except when Mitch is around until he gets tired from lack of conditioning.
4. The team IQ is hysterically low
5. It almost feels like the rest of the league is laughing at the fact that anyone took this team seriously.
Personally, I still think there is a lot of talent on this team, but they aren’t going anywhere dribbling the ball, with the Towns/Brunson combo and Thibs as the coach.
The very best thing that could happen is that we get KO’d and embarrassed in the first round. Then Leon will have to do something. That something will most likely be to fire Thibs. I’m not sure who we can get that’s better. That’s a big risk. But Thibs is not the guy and assuming we are staying with Brunson, Towns has to be traded.
By the way, this was the one time it made sense to push Towns a little to get minutes with Mitch and the moron rested him.
JJ Reddick is a million times better than Thibs.
I’d take round 2 of Nash at this point. Anyone but Thibs.
Also this coach still doesn’t understand Hart kills spacing. Opposing team don’t pay attention to him.
any coach who makes adjustments and actually has a system is better than Thibs
Thibs motto is to overplay players to get enough wins, no adjustments.
Bridges is the only NBA player who will play 3000 minutes during the regular season
I think Hart maybe played too many minutes, but Bridges got all those minutes because he played every game. I’m not going to complain about a player not getting injured at all.
Thibs looked super annoyed and pissed during his post game press conference.
Did we have a round 1 of Nash?
Well Thibs is a huge issue at this point. His team seems burnt out and Hart needs his role on this team lowered. Be willing to try a shooter in Harts spot on the court.
How could he not? That was a very, very bad ending. I thought a back and forth loss wouldn’t have been that bad, but they were barely competitive at the end there. And OG not even being able to get close on a breakaway steal!?!?
lets just say the team picture at opening of next year is going to look a lot different than this year’s….otherwise…its the definition of insanity
Those are taxing minutes Hart plays due to the maximum energy level he plays with majority of the year.
How many blowouts do the Knicks have and the starters are still in the game? Too many
Teams are playing off Hart now. Unless he plays like he did in last year’s playoffs where he wasn’t afraid to shoot and was generally aggressive, he needs to sit in crunch time.
Brunson also needs to be a better decision maker at clutch time. He’s been great at times but good teams are looking to take him out completely and he needs to adjust.
I love my Knicks but maybe a first round loss is what is needed to realize how soft and uninspiring this team is…and it starts at the top
If playing your starters Game 7 level minutes all year long was a good idea, other teams would do it. It’s a bad idea, and we’re seeing the fruits of that bad idea now.
If there is one thing helpful from this game it’s that it showed Mitch is a big help against the Cavs. He was the only starter with a positive plus minus. This matches my eye-test
https://x.com/NBA_NewYork/status/1910882065328775319?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet sounds like they don’t want to listen to you
LOVING the hysteria here. It’s like October 29, 1929.
I’ll just note that Josh hart shot 2-3 from three.
2-3 is fine, but Hart passed up many attempts and the opposing team doesn’t defend him. Knicks went on a run with Hart on the bench in the 1st half.
Educate, I don’t disagree with you (and mostly my post was tongue in cheek), but first, a lot of the passed-up shots Hart didn’t take ended up as scores by Mikal or OG, so there’s that, and really, you want Hart to hurl three pointers at the backboard at every opportunity? The ol’ pass up a good shot for a better shot idea is alive and well in this discussion…
Maybe you just want Hart to take a seat at the far end of the bench on the other side of PJ. I’m not so convinced.
