    1. KP having a minor knee ailment would explain a lot of his recent shooting problems. Hoping it clears up soon.

    2. When does the all-star voting start? Looking at the forwards in the east this season, it is very much possible that KP could get the start alongside LBJ. I would even go as far as to say that, if KP keeps it up and his minor ailment clears up, it’s likely that we will see a Whiteside/KP/LBJ frontcourt in the ASG.

    3. Nah. It’ll be Melo, LeBron, and KP as the starters for the East.

MKG continues to struggle in his role with Charlotte. I’m hoping we can swing a trade for him. Maybe they want Courtney Lee and a prospect back?

    4. Nah. It’ll be Melo, LeBron, and KP as the starters for the East.

You’re probably right. Sucks that the all-star voting doesn’t have an equal weighting of merits relative to popularity. Maybe the NBA should have an electoral college? Bad joke bad joke lol..I had to try hahaha

    5. What’s really crazy is if Rose stays healthy and continues to play the way he’s been recently playing, he has a very good shot at cracking the ASG roster. Butler has been moved to SF and Kyrie & Derozan are a given alongwith Wade most likely. So that means he’s competing with Thomas/Wall/Walker/Lowry and I think he can leapfrog them if he keeps playing the way he has. I don’t think it’s likely, but it’s certainly possible- though I would love to see Thomas on the all star roster

    6. KP having a minor knee ailment

The termed bantered around (catch) in the media had me worried. A catch in the knee is most commonly cartilage. Another knee injury that patients describe as a catch is pinching of the plica (folded joint lining). However, in another source, Coach H specifically says “catch in the muscle.” As a doctor who treats sports injuries, I would say catch is a bad term to use describing any injury in a muscle around the knee because of the other things it might be. If it is truly a “non-structural muscle injury, a little active release therapy and/or Graston therapy from a properly trained set of hands should have Zingus heading back to his usual self within days.

    7. LBJ, Giannis, and Butler in the East frontcourt.

Since is a popularity contest, I think Melo has a real shot too.

Unfortunately KP will have to gather some love from the coaches.

    8. As a doctor who treats sports injuries, I would say catch is a bad term to use describing any injury in a muscle around the knee because of the other things it might be.

What is the probability that the injury is related to KP playing over 35mpg the last few weeks?

    9. If KP has a pinch in his knee we need to be resting him. Start LT or Kuz and move Melo to the 4. But please don’t ruin KPs career.

The Knicks should also trade for MKG and then draft Josh Hart. That would be a fun team.

    10. KP has work to do or he might get passed up by Myles Turner as a player the coaches pick if he doesn’t come out of his slump.

    11. The Josh Hart train is starting to pick up unfortunately he is having a Valentine/Hield type senior year. Neither one of those guys have done well so far though so you never know how GMs will look at a senior like Hart who lack athleticism and the ball handling ability to consistently beat his man off the dribble. I still think he has a chance to be a solid starter because unlike Hield and Valentine Hart plays defense.

    12. I know we don’t really need another big, but another upperclassmen I would love on the Knicks is Nigel Hayes. Smart player that can pass and is really intelligent off the floor as well.

    13. Hart also has never in his college career had a TS% under .600. Buddy Hield is my guy, though. I think he figures it out eventually. New Orleans is one of those franchises, so you can’t say for certain, but I like his chances because he works really hard.

    14. The Pacers aren’t a winning team, and Myles Turner averages 14 and 7. No way he makes the All Star roster this year.

    15. Nigel Hayes would be an awesome late round grab. I dont think he falls to 2nd roun. He is projected as a Small foward. He’s only like 6’7 at best.

    16. The only thing KP really has him in is points and he plays more minutes than Turner. If KP continues to slide his points may come down. That’s why he has work to do.

      RE:Hart
It’s unfortunate because it looks like he is playing his way out of the second round. Which is good for him but I was hoping the knicks could use there 2nd rd pick on him and pick up a pg in the 1st.

    17. The Pacers aren’t a winning team, and Myles Turner averages 14 and 7. No way he makes the All Star roster this year.

Well, he’s 4th in the NBA in blocks at 2.2, but he probably won’t be an All Star

    18. Here is a way too early question:

If the Knicks are in the 3-5 range when the trade deadline approaches would you want them to be buyers and if so for who?

Lou Williams, Serge Ibaka, Aaron Gordon, MKG, Dragic, or who?

    19. I’d only trade for Gordon and MKG (Dragic would be fine but not if we are 3-5 by February, chemistry is too important). But I’d trade for them Lance + stuff, so I don’t think it’s feasible

    20. Off topic but I think Horns needs to give some minutes back to Willie H so we can play KP less minutes. During this slump with his knee hurting I have been encouraged that KP has rebounded and defended better. KQ has earned those minutes but now with Noah back and KQ playing well, Horns seems to have forgotten about Willie H. But when Noah was down and Willie H was playing, he proved useful. So why not give him some burn every game and cut back on KP’s minutes some? KP has been playing 35 plus minutes a game. That’s too much and even without knee soreness it might be that KP is getting gassed and I would hate for him to lose his wind halfway through the season. Give Willie H some minutes and let KP play around 25 to 28 a game.

    21. There has to be a team dumb enough to trade us a 1st round pick. Courtney Lee might be the guy to get us a 1st. Honestly Lee for MKG makes a lot of sense for both teams if you gloss over the fact that Lee is 8 years older.

    22. Phil wants and needs to make the playoffs. I doubt he’s looking to add a 1st round pick unless some team gets very very stupid. I guess that is possible.
      :-)
I just hope he resists the temptation to trade away someone like Willy in a package for an overrated veteran.

    23. There has to be a team dumb enough to trade us a 1st round pick. Courtney Lee might be the guy to get us a 1st. Honestly Lee for MKG makes a lot of sense for both teams if you gloss over the fact that Lee is 8 years older.

O’Quinn might be approaching late-lottery/non-lottery first round pick value, but that’s probably it among the non-Porzingis division. I would definitely trade Lee for just about anything though, let alone a pick.

    24. KP having a minor knee ailment would explain a lot of his recent shooting problems. Hoping it clears up soon.

      Minor?

I’ll wait until someone hacks Phil’s email account before I believe that. I prefer the truth. :-)

    25. KP has work to do or he might get passed up by Myles Turner as a player the coaches pick if he doesn’t come out of his slump.

      Turner is also younger.

    26. Phil’s history as a GM suggests he makes in-season trades when he thinks something needs to be fixed. If we are a 3 to 5 seed, I doubt he will make a trade like that. Maybe, if someone isn’t playing but wants to play, he’ll swing a deal to some needy team for prospects and or picks. I agree with this. Unless a really good opportunity comes along, if we’re playing well, I don’t want to mess with it.

    27. thanks for the link reub…I’m developing this obsession of trying to find the next “good” knicks point guard (who won’t eat up 25% of our cap)…

thanks knick fan in celtic la…that sounds a little scary, it seems that folks that tall, playing such an explosive activity is not always a good recipe – i don’t know, I just keep hoping everytime that I see him land awkwardly after hanging on the rim that he’ll be okay…

can’t remember whom – but, someone that posted the other day mentioned going to the game tonight – have fun, represent and bring us a win!!!

    28. If Porzingis has even the slightest chance of aggravating the injury he should be glued to the god damn bench until he’s 100%

    29. @36…I thought you was gonna say – at least til he’s 25…seriously, no games this year are even remotely worth taking any chances…

    30. Geo, you’re welcome. Yeah I know how you feel. I did the same thing last year, looking for the next CP3 in the D league. It turned out that there weren’t any there. Who knew?
