2016-17 Game Thread: Knicks @ Wizards

The Knicks travel to D.C. tonight to take on the Washington Wizards in yet another one of those Eastern Conference games where the Knicks have too good of a chance at winning.

Luckily, the Wizards have legitimately played well as of late, looking like an actually good team. However, the Knicks still played them very close the last time these two teams tangled, so it will likely be another close game. Hopefully the Knicks don’t pull it off, as they don’t need any sort of sign to Melo for him not to waive the NTC.

Let’s go, Knicks?

  • [SNY Knicks] Knicks head to Atlanta with some uncertainty
    (Sunday, January 29, 2017 9:51:25 AM)

If the New York Knicks are serious about trying to make a playoff push, they may have to start without one of their best players.

  • 2016-17 Game Thread: Knicks @ Hawks

In this pathetic shitshow of a Conference, the New York Knicks are now just a game and a half back of the #7 seed. The Knicks are six games under .500 and yet they’re practically in the playoffs! This is pretty much the worst case scenario for this team. They’re a bad team that needs to blow the team up, but every other team in the Eastern Conference is also a bad team (and a few of them should also blow their team up – I’m looking at you, Indiana and Chicago). So the Knicks are very much in danger of doing just well enough against all of these other shitty teams that they’ll screw over any chance that they have to get into prime lottery position. Not only that, but does anyone really think Carmelo Anthony wants off of the team if they’re suddenly right smack in the playoff picture?

So, with all of that in mind, the Knicks really need to lose to an awful (and yet somehow the #4 seed in this awful, awful conference. This conference is the Carmelo Anthony No Trade Clause of conferences) Atlanta Hawks team.

    Let’s go, Knicks?

  • 2016-17 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Hornets

It’s interesting, if the Knicks just trade Carmelo Anthony, I’d imagine that that would lead to a wholesale fire sale, in which case them winning tonight wouldn’t really matter.

That takes a bit of the edge off of what could otherwise be a scary game for the tank, since the Hornets are in a tailspin at the moment (like most Eastern Conference teams not named the Raptors or Wizards), so they could easily lose to the Knicks tonight on the road.

Let’s hope KP looks healthier tonight. If the Melo deal goes through, KP won’t be enough to keep the team from tanking, so we can start to root for him to play well.

Let’s go trade some guys, Knicks!
