2016-17 Game Thread: Knicks @ Kings

The Knicks begin a five-game, ten-day (thank goodness for no back-to-backs!) road trip tonight in Sacramento.

Sacramento is not particularly good, but the Knicks will be without the services of Derrick Rose tonight. The way that this roster is set up, with Sasha Vujacic as the only other point guard that Jeff Hornacek will give any real minutes to, an injury to either Rose or Brandon Jennings is really devastating, as, again, Sasha Vujacic is the only other point guard that Jeff Hornacek will give any real minutes to. I don’t even mean that in a “Oh man, give Ron Baker some burn!” way, but more just a general, “This team really is not set to lose either of its two point guards.”

So that will make tonight’s game a good deal more difficult, whether you’re a fan of Rose’s play or not.

Still, the Knicks played the Kings very well the last time they played, although the Kings came storming back in that game and if it were not for Boogie Cousins taking a bunch of ridiculous three pointers, the Knicks might have lost that game. So I hope that they’re on their toes tonight for Boogie and the Island of Misfit Toys (and Darren Collison).

There’s some weird thing going on with the spam filter, so hopefully you folks can comment without me having to approve each comment.

Let’s go, Knicks!

Let’s take Phil Jackson at his word. Let’s say he really does believe Carmelo Anthony spends too much time dribbling the basketball. Let’s say he really is concerned the offense tends to come to a screeching halt whenever Melo goes iso, and it affects the rest of the team badly. You know what? Jackson is…
