2026 NBA Playoffs NBA Finals: Knicks vs. Spurs Game 4 – Time to Restore Order

The San Antonio Spurs screwed up the Knicks’ 13-game-winning streak, but that won’t really matter so long as the Knicks pull this one off tonight.

A 3-1 lead, with Game 6 back in the Garden as a backup? That would be such a back-breaker that I would truly expect for the Knicks to just take it in five if they break the Spurs’ back tonight.

Mike Brown fought for his team with the refs, and that will hopefully bring about a closer called game tonight. Heck, maybe the KNICKS can get the benefit of the call tonight, and maybe the SPURS can get into foul trouble for a change.

The Spurs did a nice job both A. adjusting to the Knicks, but, more importantly, B. going to the basket a lot more. Hopefully the young, dumb Spurs will forget to do that in Game 4, and the Knicks can start more fast breaks on the Spurs’ bricks, as the Spurs brick so many shots.

It would be nice if the Knicks don’t fall behind double digits in the first quarter again. The Spurs fall apart as the game goes on and their energy tails off, so not being down 10 when that happens would be a huge help. At the end of close games, the Spurs often look like no one knows what a set play is, so I would definitely feel good about the Knicks if it is a close game late, but I wouldn’t mind the Knicks blowing them out, too.

Dolan deserves this. Not the team or the fans but Dolan. Spoiled rich billionaire, on the heels of the team taking a 2-0 lead, invites Trump and gives an asinine interview. I am taking nothing away from the refs surgical interventions. They stemmed the tide, and made it a flood. But I don’t know how much what we watched can be blamed on officiating. Probably a lot. Let’s look at the other side. The Knicks came to the floor both psychologically and schematically unprepared, as to what they will face — I mean both the Spurs as well as the officials. This was the most important game of the season and of the last decades. How could they show up like this?

The defensive lapses were beyond belief, and the mental collapse was evident from the start. The shots they keep missing on offense are mostly the consequence. They still have no clue what to do with the Spurs ever more confident defense when Wemby is on the floor, although they did score a respectable 49 points. I will give them that.

I don’t think there is a way back from this. I only hope they make the score respectable so we go back to San Antonion with some dignity.

I’m just sad the refs ruined this, i was prepared to win and to lose, but the latter NOT LIKE THIS.

Instead of us figuring out their defense, it’s them who figured out ours last game, and there was no counter by us today. It only got worse.

Jolly Mitch has been garbage all series. When he couldn’t impact the Cavs series it should have been known .

It doesn’t matter if the whistle is fair in game 5, we shouldn’t have to watch a sport where the league attempts to fix three consecutive games and then maybe you get a “fair” whistle in the next one.

I stayed away for 13 straight wins and 1 loss. Watching just the first quarter did me in tonight. This whole thing sucks. How does a league conspire against fair play? Total garbage. Plus, the Spurs did not miss. TCM had The Poseidon Adventure on tonight. Much better option.
