It has been pointed out in some corners of the interweb that the league could have suspended Alvarado, Clarkson, and OG for leaving the bench during the Josh Hart / Luke Kornet altercation. This seems accurate, if not ridiculous. So I’ll let the Wemby thing go 🙂
I trust the Knicks will not be listening to any of the Wemby hot takes. They don’t need to stand up for Jalen Brunson by elbowing Wemby today. They need to play their brand of basketball and have the MFer bending over out of breath with his hands on his knees again. They need to respond to game 3 the same way they responded to games 2 & 3 vs Atlanta. They need to win tonight by 15 and reestablish themselves as the competent men playing the talented boys.
And I need to bury myself in work & exercise to avoid the stress of this all. This is all a bit much. I miss the second round, when it was just basketball, and I could get a seat at the bar to watch a game.
Game 4 vs the Celtics last year is our spirit guide. Knicks played their best game of the century that day after winning first two on road and losing game 3 at home. I want that team, and I believe we will get it.
Retardmaxxing til then.
(This is a real thing, btw! I saw this video online, and I’m honestly not sure if Director got it from the guy who started it or if he is the guy who started it…

When they left the bench we had already called the timeout.
Ok last thing before I go to the gym (I swear!)… that youtube clip I posted got me sucked in a little, and there’s this Bill Simmons video about the series…
Go to the 10:45 mark and listen to how casually he speaks about the NBA being rigged! He’s not trying to make a point, it’s not a hot take, he’s just talking about it like it’s understood.
“I bet you have Scott Foster for this game, they’ll try to lay the smack down a little more on the Spurs, and then my guess is goes back to San Antonio, Tony Bruthers in game 5, and they’ll put the Knicks in position to be up 3-2 going to NY, see if they can do it.”
I know he’s “conspiracy bill” and all that, but he’s talking about refs in the NBA finals the same way we talk about starting pitchers in the world series!
Good god I hope he’s not right.

The timeout doesn’t matter, Cyber.
The only thing that matters is if the league determines that a situation meets the threshold of “an altercation”, and they used their judgment to determine that this one didn’t.
I think that’s absolutely correct, but we’ve seen them determine similar incidents to be altercations. So… phew.
OK slamming laptop shut now good bye
