Someone please remind me why Scott Foster would be particularly bad for us tonight? Is it because of the theory that the NBA would like to extend this series? If so, I once again contend that the NBA would want to be careful about that, as extending the series would run counter to their desire for their team from New York City having a long run in the playoffs. They’d be playing with fire by forcing a Game 7, which could obviously go either way.

The NBA doesn’t actually desire this, though. At least not enough to do something nefarious.
But a game 7 in prime time Saturday that generates $20MM in gate revenue and ad sales? That’s definitely something they want.

Anyway the theory is that Foster was as dirty as Donaghy (and the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming… like Canadian wildfire levels of smoke) but the NBA covered it up because they needed to protect the integrity of the game and cast Donaghy as the only crooked ref. So the withheld the evidence of Foster’s gambling and now they have him in their pocket.
The entire idea behind labor throwing the 1919 World Series was to have as many gates as possible, so the participating players could get more money.
After that, they made it an explicit rule that World Series shares would only be based on four gates, regardless of how long the series went.
Management is under no such restrictions.

The 9pm east coast start is crazy. We have one TV in our living room where I can watch the game and my wife will have gone to bed by the time the second quarter starts. So I had to make a promise to her that if I stayed up to watch it, I would be quiet.

My mom is in a play tonight at the senior living facility where she lives… and I am having dinner before the play with my step father who is in the memory care unit in the same facility…effectively all this will happen while the game is on…how i will be able to check the score during the play is going to be challenging ….probably saving me from some possible adverse medical stuff if I was going to be watching…probably going to be a last possession game again..

For my part on the west coast, the game will be ending right around my son’s bath and bedtime routine.
