2025-26 Game Thread: Knicks @ Bulls

The Bulls are making a late run for a high lottery pick, so this just HAS to be a win.

Let’s go, Knicks!

Still feel great about 58!

Everyone talks about KAT having a season well below what we expect of him, but i think ISM is having a worse season.

You can lose to anyone if you don’t play any defense

Maybe our contracts don’t include defense in the 1st half 😛

Hukporti is definitely really tall. At the moment that’s an exhaustive list of what he brings to the table.

Huk’s doing okay, although it’s mostly hustle. I’ll take it.

Sorry, Noble, I’d add hustle to tall. Skills to come…

This lineup could hold any team under 100 points.

Unfortunately they’d only score 70 themselves

There really is no point in playing Sochan with a traditional center. Just play Diawara, at least you get some shooting.

Adding Sochan just puts more of these no space lineups on the court that Brown loves to run .

People aren’t gonna agree with me but I feel like Clarkson could make some stuff happen against these guys

Yes, defensive rebounds for the Bulls and blown coverages for the Knicks.

Not sure where I would put Landry on my personal ranking of best Knicks but he has been fantastic this year

And on cue, bad foul. Whatever, love you still…..

I kinda agree. He might bring energy which the Knicks obviously don’t have tonight

I have no way of watching this one, but the box score suggests something I’ve noticed before. Without Deuce, our bench tends to get beaten by the other team’s bench.

This team is so maddening. If they played this level of defense in the first half the game would be over

I just don’t see what Bridges does for this team except shoot fade away 3s.

Terrible end to quarter.

Socham looks as bad as we hope he wouldn’t be but willing to give him a couple more games to find his way.

The Sochan minutes have been ugly so far but on principle I do have to defend Brown. Sometimes using the regular season to gather data will be informative as to what not to do in the playoffs, but you still should do it.

I don’t disagree, but then play him in lineups he could potentially use in the playoffs. Sochan and Huk together isn’t it.

Is Mike Brown secretly tanking this game? WTF is Huk doing in there right now instead of KAT?

Bootlegged sites?

Normally I use Tencent sports, but that only works in China and I have not subscribed to something here just for the three weeks I’m in the US. I can watch most of the National broadcasts, so that’s what I’m doing for the moment.

KAT finally got a call

Great spell for him. Haven’t seen this guy all year.

OG made a t least one incredible play. And got a layup blocked by the backboard.

Seems like the 4th quarter last night didn’t fix this broken team…

Did Brown play the closing lineup tonight at any point?

KAT shooting threes is good. How does Giddys hair do that.

Josh really making my hubby smile

Well marechal Alvarado was having an awful 4th quarter tonight shooting wise so I understand not playing him down the stretch. Inserting Huk for a couple of minutes down the stretch to give KAT a breather didn’t help either.

So apparently this Knicks sweatshirt makes the Knicks play like shit for most of the game and then eke out an unlikely win at the end.

I mean, wins are what we want, right? But not sure I’m constitutionally suited for lots more of these games….

Someone has to do a remix of Josh Hart’s last run to the front court, to run out the clock, using the music for Yakity-Sax.

Phew! Poor play and ugly win but a win nevertheless. More interested in seeing what we have against the new look Cavs on Tuesday.

I think we can stop ragging on Towns for a few days.

I know it was only Chicago, but he was finally getting some decent looks. They were looking for him.

He basically played 5 out the whole 4th quarter tonight. I hear you on Alvarado, but he could have closed with Shamet instead of Hart.’

Edit: I meant he played 5 out last night, very little of it in the 4th tonight.

Did Brown play the closing lineup tonight at any point?

The starters played 36, 33, 32, 32 and 30 minutes tonight with Mitch unavailable. Last year’s the coach would have played at least 3 of the starters 40 minutes and they would have won by 13 and y’all would have been happy.

Knicks already clinched tiebreaker vs Cavs so I’m prepared for a Cavs blowout win on Tuesday but Knicks will leave Cleveland as the 3rd seed regardless of the result.

I don’t think it was a good win, but a win is a win is a win is a win is a win.

Back to the third seed!

Sochan signing brilliance may be in lowering Mo’s value this summer without upsetting him. He doesn’t have to agree with it just understand that MB has to play him to see what he has…

Mo will be happy to sign a Deuce type contract this summer if he barely plays for the rest of the season. The trick will be for Sochan to have a solid performance game ~ once a week for 5 weeks.

Shamet will have to show some loyalty back to Leon who had his back all of last year and brought him back this year.

Maybe the trade deadline really *was* one of the things that was most bothering KAT?

IMO there was nothing wrong with KAT that a few silly newspaper articles, social media posts and TV discussions didn’t cure. He’s been unjustly taking heat because his coach and PG weren’t looking for him or running anything to get him open. Now they are trying to fix it.

Now that he has become a priority again those same people are going to start whining about Bridges, OG or Hart or someone else whose decline in production is a mathematical certainty given there’s only so many shots in a game.

People just have to get used to fact that we have 4 starters capable of putting up 20 or more points almost every night and a few player that can get 15. On any given night a couple are going to do very little because of the defense, matchups or focus of the coach and Brunson. It’s primarily on those two to get the balance right and find the right player on any given night. They have been terrible at it with Towns this year. Next up it may be Mikal or OG. I don’t trust either one of them to get it right. Brunson is too self centered. He’s a score first PG except for rare games when someone else on the team has been taking heat in the papers or on TV and Brown appears almost clueless at this stage after a very promising start.
