So another slow day, i guess we were a lot more active in past years, but i don’t miss it because this means we have a good team and there’s not that much we can talk about until the season happens.
But it was quite funny trying to micro-analyze improvements on players we deep down knew weren’t going to be very good. Props to us, we tried hard to keep believin’ even in the darker days. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

Let’s see if everybody’s still reading this… Max, how was the expedition to the Dolomites? And Bruno, my brother from the other side of the Atlantic, are you still there? Everything’s ok? Also, i remember an aussie – dtrickey – but i think he didn’t “move” to this new website, when we had to change our username and pass, or maybe he has a different moniker, i don’t know.
Well, this an invite to our members that post rarely to tell us everything’s ok with them. I’m counting on you all.

We had weeks in the summer years ago where digital tumbleweeds would roll through the site. Weโ€™d have single post weeks.

Good time to recharge and watch tennis and Arsenal struggle against Brighton

About basketball, there was a comment that got lost at the end of one of the previous threads, but i think JK is 100% right. Getting rid of the player with the 27.6 USG and 92 TS+ was a huge boost to our play. And given that the replacement is a very efficient player (OG), and a lot better on defense too, well i think that adds even more value to the trade. It was a difference-maker move and we would’ve got to the ECF if we had more than half the team healthy.

Being my own Doogie, “until the season happens” …what is this!? I need more coffee! LOL
“until the season starts” was what i meant, of course. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And, btw, thanks Doogie for focusing on basketball and/or interesting topics, i think your participation improved 1000%. Keep it going, please. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey, my bet is on Arsenal, control the game please! ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜€

Agree with you both about that trade. And short of iHart we basically have the team we want now, so healthy is really the buzzword for this season.

Of course some injuries are โ€œbad luckโ€ but itโ€™s also up to the players, coaches, and physio to get the most out of this squad. I hope the new โ€œdocโ€ has a (good) plan and everyone is prioritizing wellness.

Well, Alcaraz and Djoker are out, but a portuguese (Nuno Borges) is still playing. How about that? ๐Ÿ™‚
Can he handle the pressure today? He’s #34 and the opponent is #65 so he’s the favorite.

Well i better shut up now, or else i’m going to be on the Guinness books of records for most posts per hour on KB! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi cyber, yes, these are truly the dog days for KB and NBA basketball in general. The only blips are the occasional workout videos…I remember being particularly intrigued by Shump’s back in the day. But personally, I have some diversions to carry me over to training camp. We’re dropping my son off at college today…he has had some ups and downs but has worked really hard at getting back on track, and after a successful community college stint is entering his junior year at age 25 at a very nice liberal arts school. We’s supposed to see Tedeschi Trucks tonight in an outdoor venue in beautiful Saratoga but the forecast is for thunderstorms so it’s likely to be cancelled. Then in two weeks I’ll be “in the neighborhood” in Mallorca, then Barcelona…and after that spending a weekend near the Cape in MA with old friends. And the Jets are at least interesting. Oh yeah, there’s the presidential election stuff.

Anyway, keep on posting, anything is better than nothing…well, mostly!

The chip that cracked the calcaneus. Hoping he has a really great structural integrationist working his lines. He might have the heaviest weight on his shoulders this year as it is, given the center “speculation.”

The good news is that Mitch is not getting paid like a top-30 C. He is extension-eligible so maybe that will be another reason for him to prove the doubters wrong.

Meanwhile, Zubac just extended for 3/$58.6M.

This is great, Z-man. I hope he has a great time at the arts school. ๐Ÿ˜‰
And enjoy your time in Spain, it’s a lovely country. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The only reason the world has a shot in basketball over Vilnius is that there are only around 500k people here. I’m saying people but they’re all giants. I just saw a couple, he’s around 6’9” and she’s 6’5” and they’re both athletic and super attractive, and they didn’t even stand out. Incredible.

watching this special on PBS about bruce’s Nebraska album…

bunch of different artists playing tunes from the album…hosted by warren zanes (narrator/biographer)…

I kind of tuned out after darkness on the edge of town…maybe just interests shifted…

didn’t really listen through either the river or nebraska albums…there are songs I’ve come to appreciate and enjoy…

one of the points the narrator is getting across is how personal/contemporary the work is for the artist, and how much growth can be heard in their music over time…

I guess it’s just much easier for simple fans to get stuck on very specific musical styles…

great thing about art, you can always go back again to give it another try…

oh yeah – cyber, I hope your day has transitioned in to a spectacular evening ๐Ÿ˜Š

da rules – wow, that place sounds like it feels special…unique…

thank you so very much for sharing the stuff about family z-man…

I think it may have been one of you all here who mentioned that once you’re a parent – you are only really okay as long as your kids are okay…

that is very good news…daughter is 22, I remember my early 20’s being very challenging…add in health challenges, and it’s a super tough period…

my heart goes out to folks in general on that transition from the home…things are so expensive, generally their resources are scarce…

    and, it’s a tough world…wishing you all well…
