Prior to tip off, Carmelo Anthony said this was a “winnable game.” And it certainly was. A few quick points:
* This felt like a team effort. A lot of different players contributed down the stretch. Lance Thomas, Jose Calderon, Robin Lopez, ‘Melo, etc. I liked the feel of it.
* New York appeared to be pulling away when they took a 98-93 lead. However they let Toronto back into the game. Also they got the benefit of a controversial call late in the game. Both things are very un-Knicky. Usually those things don’t go in our favor.
* Nice interview from ESPN with Galloway. It appears he’s got a great head on his shoulders and a fantastic ability to improve through hard work and motivation. Tonight he had 15 points on 10 shots. Going forward it may not be that Calderon deserves to lose his job, but that Galloway is just too good to pass up. Fish needs to find more than 27 minutes a night for Langston, period. (And if he doesn’t can I start the chant for 6th man award?)
