We did manage to slow them down just a little bit in the second quarter and that works to our advantage given how sluggishly we play. The lack of confidence and those stupid turnovers are inexplicable. We are happy to be down only by 6.We play like a team with neither leadership nor belief.
I’ll take it considering the shooting disparity, but ultimately to beat these guys we probably need Mitch playing close to starter minutes.

Mike Brown was brought in for games in the playoffs, but he seems clearly below Thibs as a head coach . Every coach outsmarts him . Thibs used to get washed by Carlisle , but Brown is a towel boy on the sidelines.
Eventually you have to ask yourself what coach can Mike Brown beat in a playoff series ..

Brown’s not a great coach, he’s a very average NBA coach. Which is why I’m not buying the idea that we’re going to hit the switch in the playoffs. In the playoffs coaching matters more than it does in the regular season.
We don’t have enough talent to make a very deep playoff run with an average coach.

Originally I felt like Brown was the wrong coach because he was a “meh” retread. I wanted to gamble on some young guy that would be innovative and that could potentially turn out to be a great coach. Early in the season the offense looked good. I thought Brown was doing a good job. Now I’m back to my original position. IMO this team is underperforming its talent on offense and the lineups often make no sense to me. He’s doing some things better than Thibs (minutes and willingness to develop young players), but with Thibs they showed up almost every night and the lineups made sense even if he overused some. It’s hard to be optimistic about our chances to get to the finals, let alone beat OKC, SA or Denver.
