I don’t think preseason really matters for anything, but, at the same time, damn, it’s just good to have basketball back, so, well, here we go!

usually I can count on my 24 yr old to keep me in tune if I’m not paying attention, but even he has been missing stuff lol. Oddly enough- his inner blerd is probably stronger than mine. The kid has stumbled upon D&D over the past year

i like that way of looking at it…i too try to stay in touch with the kids (20, 11, 8) media choices…what games they play, music, youtube stuff…

the oldest likes R&B soul, watched a bunch of king von vids the other day with the middle…the 8 year old though – he finds someone really off the wall kids shit off of youtube…

i’ll tell ya, if i had to choose a profession from the beginning and start over – youtube kids content…that would be some seriously fun shit right there…do it right, big bank…

it’s been some years now – but, the youngest has started to totally infect my brain at times with some different kids tunes: i’m going on a trip, in my favorite rocket ship

some of that stuff is so incredibly catchy…it just clings there in your mind, for years…

yeah, i don’t really have any new cool fantasy/sci-fi stories to recommend to read…

i think though i may try to make a deal with BC and al…

i’ll read through All Star Superman if al might try Kingdom Come (maybe has already) and if BC will check out Lex Luthor: Man of Steel…which considering it’s BC, i’ll assume he most likely already has…

more so than anything – the work published through the Elseworlds (DC comics) really opened my eyes to the breadth of some truly iconic characters…

there’s legacy, canon, whatnot – and then there’s established figures dealt with in very new ways…

not sure if your son is gaming D and D online or old school board game/dicing it…i’d be interested to know in 2022 what that choice might be…

i’ve been doing elder scrolls online since june 2015…i got 17 toons i keep in cyrodiil (open-world, non-timed pvp zone – 3 alliances, campaigns go for 30 days)…

man, used to go for about 30 to 40 hours a week, down now to about 10 or so…that’s a good thing i guess…i’m getting better sleep at least…

okay, final answer mister poindexter sir – my next “thing” will probably be Marvel’s Darth Vader comic (2015)…i’ve been checking them out on Ebay…i’ll just grab the run…like 25 issues total i think…

similar to a pair of rick & morty la melo pumas i want (i have no idea when i would ever get to wear them), just haven’t decided to grab them yet…

you know, i think i can sort of justify in my mind picking up the sneakers if i think of it as work “gear”…

geo from the last thread +295 is basically paying 3 to 1, so if I bet 50 I would get back 200 dollars if the Knicks win 44 (my 50 bet plus 3×50)

i have a pretty decent case of fear of failure, in life…

i like the math and the stats of it though…plus, espn has this incredibly attractive woman who discusses sports betting…spectacular appearance…her name is erin dolan…

yeah, i don’t know…kind of like sugar, red meat and edibles, i have to watch out for adrenaline…

i have to make choices that generally go in the direction of staying calm…

betting does not seem to be an activity that promotes – calm…

3 minutes into the preseason I’m all out on the idea that we’re getting the new and improved Julius Randle

Mitch with a nice post move? Didn’t count due to three seconds, but still.

Brunson already did more things I like than all our PGs did all of last year. 😂

Five minutes into the pre-season, and Brunson is a god, Fournier can still shoot, Mitch is seriously Mitching, and Randle is being questionable (but not dominating the basketball, so less questionable than usual).

Seven minutes in, and iHart looks like fun, Cam may have learned how to play basketball, and OBI!!!!!

I was actually more impressed with Cam’s fumble on the break that let the D catch up and instead of forcing it went under and got it to Barrett. Although the wet three was nice.

And yeah, Barrett not passing it out of the drive, at least yet.

League pass has fucked me well so i guess my knicks preseason premier is postponed…damn fkn subscription pause!!!

Good to see IQ taking it to the rim a few times. That’ll be what determines whether he’s a microwave guy off the bench or maybe a lot more.

For now, Brunson looks like the real deal, Hart is as advertised, Randle is Randle and Deuce is using his minutes way better than Cam…

Randle’s playing just a little bit like he’s brand-new to this basketball thing.

To Randle’s credit, he’s mostly avoided any infuriating hijacking.

To Randle’s detriment, the empty stands theory is looking as strong as ever.

RJ cutting to the hoop and receiving a pass for the stuff seems a new (good) wrinkle. More please.

We would actually be pretty good if we traded everyone except for the new guys Hart and Brunson (and maybe Deuce). 😂

The thing that’s making me sad is that the starting five has fallen into the half-court ‘stand around the three-point line and the dunker’s spot and don’t move at all, ever, even once’ offensive set.

Thought about it, but in the end decided not to go. So the game was at home yelling at my laptop. 😀 At certain point we scored a goal and the VAR turned it into a penalty against us. Hilarious this VAR thing. But it helps remove mistakes, i admit. We got a win so now we’re back in contention for the last 16. 😉

The end of the half bucket seems to have worked wonders with Randle, he’s playing better now.

Raven, that is the $64,000 question. Is our half court offense bland and unimaginative or us Detroit actually defending well? I think it’s still an open question.

What I want to see is iHart on the elbow orchestrating.

Watching the replay after being at the game. There’s truly nothing like Clyde and Breen.

General observations:
MSG is the best
Daily Burger rocks
Great crowd! Seemed like it was about 3/4 full.

Knicks observations:
-Mitch looks bigger and badder than ever. He is learning the art of the long outlet pass, which seems like a major plus. Was by far the biggest guy on the court.
-Hart has really long arms, hustles his ass off and has a positive vibe about him. In the second half, saw him yell at someone to get on the other side of the court, might have been one of the scrubs.
-Brunson seems in control at all times, has that Jason Kidd vibe. You can tell he’s just a step ahead of everyone else.
-Julius really looks to be trying to find the sweet spot between being a primary scorer and a role player. Definitely looked more like good Julius than bad Julius overall. Very engaged on D and the boards.
-RJ looks comfortable on the spot-up 3.
-IQ making every effort to score near the rim. Still has footwork problems especially going left, but definitely improved and trying hard.
-Deuce was a terror on the ball and in the passing lanes, but some minor issues staying in front of his man in iso and the shot isn’t there yet. But really a great run for him overall.
-Cam tantalizing again, some nice plays and some terrible ones, but engaged on D. I didn’t see the injury.
-Obi was fine in a low-key sort of way. Same with Fournier, who played hard on D.
-Just a great vibe night for a preseason opener, left feeling very satisfied.

Pistons observations:
-Ivey is big and built like a brick shithouse. Extremely quick and agile, ferocious going to the basket. He’s going to be a problem, especially if the shot comes around.
-Wasn’t impressed with Cade, he has a laziness to his game that I don’t like. Hard to explain.
-Bojan looks like a square peg in a round hole.
-Bagley III looked OK
-Duren looked raw as hell
-Livers was very active, good role player
-DET does not look like a team that will win many games, but they are so young who knows?

Overall a great dad-son night, very much appreciate that my buddy gave me the tix!

There were many pretty women at MSG tonignt. Then again, that’s not unusual.

A lot of young high usage guys sort of have that vibe to them. It seems like it’s 50/50 which way they go with it.

Bojan looks like a square peg in a round hole.

He cost so little, so they can probably get a pick for him later, but yeah, he doesn’t seem to fit at all.
