They is really good. I want to say something like that when I grow up.
Rooting hard for Spain today….
Random thought: Something really bugged me about seeing Wemby angrily exhorting his teammates on in the huddle during a timeout. This happened more than once during the playoffs. I get that he’s trying to show leadership, but he seemed way over the top, especially considering that he’s 22 and yelling at guys 10 years older than him. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a fight between him and a teammate at some point.
Everyone talks about guys like Wemby and Giannis as freaks of nature, but OG is just as freaky as any of them. I remember when we acquired him, Macri kept referring to him as the “skeleton key.” I had high hopes for him, but never in my wildest dreams imagined that he would become THIS impactful.
During these playoffs, the four guys on the team that significantly exceeded even the high end of my “realistic” expectations when we acquired them are OG, Brunson, KAT, and Landry. Everyone else did kind of what I expected. But OG was in a class by himself.
Bad news, Owen. Your 3pm got moved to tomorrow.
btw did you guys know LeBron James has been in NYC all week? He showed up at the Jay-Z concert, the ESPYs, fanatics fest, and is going to the World Cup final.
I’m beginning to think it’s a little weird that we haven’t heard anything about him to the Knicks. Like, why would he seriously consider the sixers but not the knicks? And why wouldn’t James Dolan want his team’s value to increase by an extra billion dollars?
Either the two sides never talked or they’re planning a giant surprise, and the former would just be silly.
I’m not mad at the Dadiet pick, since that contract allowed us to make the KAT trade, which led to a championship, etc. It nonetheless bums me out that he hasn’t developed enough to be useful. If his contract can help us get a better player at midseason, then sure. But oh well.
It’s telling that LeBron is choosing to hang in a minor city for these routine events during the offseason. Must mean he’s coming here. Are they selling jerseys yet?

I feel the same way. He still won’t be old enough to legally buy a beer in NY until next week, so maybe he makes a leap some day, but probably not on his rookie deal.
