Think about the fact that, come Saturday night, the Knicks might be THE CHAMPIONS OF THE NBA!

Holy shit, universe, you fucking rock!

    3

You guys will be happy to know that Victor Wembayama is “still resolute.”

The run didn’t have its legendary win until last night, and now it does.

The Universe is like…”don’t thank me yet, Knickerbloggers….I was there in Kansas City to fuck up Bernard King’s knee.” But I’m pretty psyched too, Brian. This is bananas.

Just realized, Sochan is probably going to get a ring no matter what. I think most teams give them to every player who was on their roster that year

I hope we do the closeout thing on Saturday. I know that was electric in the 4Q but these finals games at MSG make me so much more nervous than the road games.

And we might need an old school Thibs rotation for that one because the bench — outside Alvarado, of course — is giving us nothing since Landry’s game 1. That was Jeremy Sochan’s music!

I love you, Mitch, but you lost a lot of money. (I thought he might get bid up to $20-25M but now he might have a hard time getting even the full MLE)

The Knicks are 5-3 over the last 2 years in games they are 20 points down.

Rest of the league is 4-71.

    This team, man.

this is a weird series for me – long time Knicks fan from ny, live in france. but my son is a huge wemby fan and a default Knicks fan. last night’s game (watched this morning), may have swung him definitively into the Knicks camp.

Someone on reddit said Wemby was in Mitch’s head and saw all the missed free throws

    These are the GalaxyQuest Knicks

    By Grabthar’s hammer… what a series.

    Welcome, Paul!!

Speaking of sons… I’m supposed to sign mine up for swim camp today and it’s the same cost as a ticket to game 5…

So I too missed the greatest comeback in a meaningful game in Knicks history. Cynical take- Silver engineered a massive rise is NBA popularity with casual fans in a most unintended way. That block and tip-in by OG will now rank with Willis walking out on the court in the Knicks canon.

Spiritual/woo take: the Devil works hard, but God works harder

I’m at a loss of words… just happy we have this AMAZING team, that never gives up! And happy to share it with this beautiful community!! 🧡💙

Never forget that KAT saved them. Imagine if the Spurs had scored in that last possession. This is the Hakeem fingertip in reverse.

    2

I don’t think he will be, but OG deserves the Finals MVP if he keeps this up. He always plays great, while the others are not as steady as him.

The run didn’t have its legendary win until last night, and now it does.

ECF game 1 was pretty iconic.

I will cyber, I’m just trying to set someone up for a joke about timelines 😉

    At 4am in Venice:

Sleep time. I truly hope I miss the most incredible comeback in Knicks history. Make it so, gents.

    😉

I’m honestly still in disbelief..a…a state of shock, even. I really don’t know what to say except exactly what I said last night, THIS FUCKIN TEAM!

Do you realize that we’re up 3-1, regardless of the fact that we’ve yet to have a “good” game in this series? The Spurs defense has truly limited Knicks basketball, yet we are up 3-1! This is insane. I’m almost ready to cry now, I can only imagine what I’m gonna do should we win this chip LOL

We have several legendary games this playoffs, but as Brian said, because we aren’t going game 7, they’ll be forgotten… but who cares? What matters is us winning the LOB!! 🏀🥇🏆

cyber, I’m on board for OG as Finals MVP. Not only was that tip-in iconic stuff of legends, but he has been our steadying hand throughout this series (23 and 4, with 1.5 blocks and a steal per 36, plus .580/.556/.917 shooting splits), including Game 3. I don’t think anyone else on the team would mind him getting it in the least.

Odd to think that he is the one guy on our roster who actually has a ring (with Toronto, of course). If I remember correctly, he didn’t play at all in those Finals because he had an emergency appendectomy or something just before the Finals started—this must be such sweet redemption for him, and he deserves all postive accolades that he gets.

They said the Knicks couldn’t go down big against the Spurs because contrary to the Cavs they would never allow a comeback.

    L-O-fucking-L

Wemby was worse than Harden offensively down the stretch. 1-11 with the 2 missed free throws.

Josh seemed really down on himself in his post-game comments. I’m really glad that he is best friends with Brunson (who seems like he’d be a great best friend, by the way). Jalen will help Josh get through his disappointment in himself.

If OG has another strong game to close it out I do think he could win MVP. He’s the most consistent Knicks player in this series and besides the scoring his defense is always amazing.

It would sort of be like when Kawhi won it in 2014.

Think about the fact that we won this game with almost no contribution from Mikal, Shamet, or Deuce. I think Game 5 will be quite different in that regard, and I also think that Mike Brown knows to feature OG in this upcoming game. It’s often Wemby and four guards on the floor, and OG is the one guy that *none* of them have an answer for.

I don’t think he will be, but OG deserves the Finals MVP if he keeps this up. He always plays great, while the others are not as steady as him.

After the first 2 games, I thought KAT or Kal might be Finals MVP. But now I think it’s between Brunson and OG..and I’d love to see OG win it after being overlooked for All Star and All Defense these past 2 seasons- and I mean 1st team all defense btw. But in all likelihood, the vote is gonna go to the star player as opposed to the 3rd option who is a mega star in his role.

Do you realize that we’re up 3-1, regardless of the fact that we’ve yet to have a “good” game in this series? The Spurs defense has truly limited Knicks basketball, yet we are up 3-1!

We won the only game that was called straight up by 10 points.

We went 1-1 in the games where the refs egregiously put their thumbs on the scale, which is pretty good.

Hard to tell what last night was. During the game thread I said it looked more like incompetence than rigged. The first foul on KAT was very soft, but I think a lot of refs just expect KAT to do something stupid and are ready to blow the whistle.

The second foul, they got fooled by Wemby. I watched that one ten times. His arm is 100% free and he’s pretending it’s hooked. Maybe there was a split second where it was hooked, but most of that time KAT’s arm is free and Wemby’s selling the idea that he’s stuck.

KAT’s third foul was straight up stupid.

At the end of the day, I think we got a decent whistle last night.

I was so conditioned to the bad whistle that I was waiting for one against us on OG’s tip-in and again on the Spurs’ last failed shot attempt. Glad that Castle didn’t go to the line for two free throws.

I can’t get over the second KAT foul because it was reviewed and it was obvious that Wemby was faking that arm being clamped. And they still called it. It was infuriating at the moment.

Also, let’s not forget the 4 point turnaround with the two consecutive goaltend/non-goaltend calls.

    1

lol yeah those were rough. but castle had 5 fouls and played the same minutes as KAT. that was huge.

I think that was just a poorly officiated game, and frankly I think it favored us a bit.

OG should be the MVP if they win this, but I almost wish they could give the MVP to the team.

Let’s not forget to give Cap his due: 36/5/7 with 3 steals on decent shooting. It could easily be missed, especially considering his really bad first half.

Us fans need to pick Hart up, somehow. Let him know in every way possible that it’s all better than good, that we’re not close to where we are without him.
