Found myself perusing Magic’s mixtape. Sometimes I think hls greatness is underrated.

I’ve been watching a lot of Andre Drummond tape and becoming irrationally exuberant.
I will say, regardless of what kind of drop off we can expect, the front office really did as good a job as they possibly could have given their limitations.
We spend a lot of time preaching patience for backup C but the answer is likely already here, and they got it done in within 48 hours.
I have more faith in Brown and his staff, including the medical and training staff, as well as the team leadership vibe, than I do in Drummond per se. Clarkson greatly benefited from these things as a 30-something whose best days were allegedly behind him. But it took a benching to make it sink in. That’s where having a competent 3rd string C might be a real plus.
What has me particularly excited about Drummond is this hint of Hartenstein-level passing from 2018-22, when his ast/36 were 3.7, 2.9, 2.7, 3.3. It makes me think Brown can figure something out where he’s effective making passes out of the short roll in 4-on-3s.
summer break season is officially coming to an end…oldest son dipped a couple of days ago to get back to his routine, youngest will stop with me to go check in on his sis, and then he will be back under his mom’s care…whew…big respect to those full time parenting folks…
actually things get easier and smoother as the days go by, still, it’ll be nice to wake without the extra cleaning and cooking…
made it through all the books, garment bags and knick knacks in the house, got some semi-organized piles downstairs…next up gotta go through all the boxes in the garage…
maybe my 3rd to 5th time going through everything…at the point now though where if it’s not of value (memory or money) or current use, it has gotta go…
wanna try an experiment, see if I can figure out how to sell old clothes online…just a test to see if I can figure out the process…maybe a way to get rid of stuff without interacting too much with others…
daughter is pretty familiar and comfortable with the process, time i stepped in to this millennium a little more…excited to learn a new trick…

so, for like the first 14 years of son’s life he’s returned home kicking and screaming, just didn’t want to leave…
one time when he was like 5, tricked him to get in the car by saying we were going to the store…on occasion, he still holds that against me…
so, just weird him getting to the point where he’s ready to go back to his mom’s, spend time hanging out with friends and get back to his gym routine…

daughter moves back in shortly, so, should probably just be thankful for the quiet and less mess while it lasts…plus, he’ll back himself most likely come end of week…

I get it doogie, it seems some of your background relates to getting langauge to conform, some standardization to more easily and effectively allow its transmission, and maybe more importantly a greater chance for clearer reception…follow some rules…

RIP, Don Nelson. An incredibly weird stint coaching the Knicks, even if he had something resembling the right idea about featuring Mase a bit more on offense.

Whenever I think of Don Nelson, I think of the fish ties he used to wear when coaching the Bucks. Those Bucks teams he coached were really good, shame they never got over the top.
I have the same question I always have these days when we *aren’t* signing someone (Sochan, Kayil). Does that free up more money for, you know, an actual third- (or second-) string center, or does it have no bearing on it? I quite admit that I’ve stopped trying to parse the 1,935 pages of rules related to NBA salaries/trades.
I, for one aren’t losing much sleep with the trade out of Mitch vs Drummond. Yeah I know they lose something on the defensive end, but Drummond is likely to be available, not likely to do stupid shit to be unavailable for the championship series and can’t be fouled off the floor in a critical situation.
A net small loss, but not anywhere near the extinction level event many are making it out to be.
Let’s face it… the Knicks are unlikely to repeat. They were “fortunate” to win this season. Their two top rivals lost their best players for most of the season. OG played way, way above his expected level even for a guy that loved him since the trade. Shammet went on an all time heater and Brunson had a better close out game than Clyde in their first championship something I thought for 55 year was impossible.
That’s a pretty neat series of coincidences. Add to that, it is human nature to be a little self satisfied after winning it all.
Nelson was right about everything that got him fired. Hubert Davis was a better player than the 95/6 version of Starks. Ewing was entering his decline phase and was angling for a huge extension and Shaq was going to leave Orlando. Nelson had a relationship with him from coaching him the the World’s Championships in 95 knew he would come to NY. Ewing was the best deal Orlando could get for Shaq. Once word of that got out, Nelson was toast.
And yes, if everyone had bought in, running the offense through Mason with his ball handling and passing skills for such a huge man would have been a superior offense to dumping it in to Patrick 85% of the trips down the floor.
things I remember most of don nelson was that he liked to hang out on hawaii, get high and play poker with friends…
always stuck out to me, cuz it’s hard to imagine folks hanging out, getting high, and wanting to play poker…
just seems a unique combo…

The first time he has to rotate to an open three point shooter Hubert will instantly say, “oh right, this is why we needed Mitch.”
