Not sure if anyone saw Hali walk off the press room podium the other day but it was very dramatic. Had to use both guard rails.

It’s a ruse by Carlisle to complain more about fouling. He’ll also be able to throw the series by sitting Hali in order to complain about fouling for the 97 reasons that follow…

Carlisle’s Mother’s Day card is just a list of all the uncalled fouls against the Pacers this season.

Well if they’re down Hali and we’re down 4 rotation players that kind of makes things even, no?

I’m not buying it. Hollywood is not calling.

Hopefully we’ll refer to this game as the “Mother’s Day Massacre”… in a good way, of course.

Almost interesting piece on the eight moves that have made this iteration of the Knicks in ESPN. Wonder if anyone has a different list, or different items on the list…

Hard to put a list like that together and leave out Julius Randle. Without him dragging us up from the basement to respectability, I’m not sure any of this is happening today.

EDIT: he’s a footnote in the Durant/Irving piece, so I suppose he’s represented but probably deserves his own headline.

Also Donovon Mitchell basically had two of the 8 steps devoted to him, which I don’t agree with. He’s not that big a deal in our story.

I have a back injury and am listed as questionable for Game 4.

Maybe I’ll hobble on the TV in the second half.

Franchise has been known for dramatically overpaying for 2+ decades, so any kind of responsible restraint is newsworthy. All the talking heads (rightly) assumed we’d just throw Utah a half dozen first round picks to get it done and cripple ourselves for the next decade. We didn’t, so hallelujah?

I find it odd that the Josh Hart trade isn’t mentioned. Hart is as central to the identity of this team at this point as Brunson. Brunson is the star but in a lot of ways, Hart epitomizes our style and our mindset.

I think the 8 biggest moments that shaped our team are trading KP, missing on Durant and “settling” for Randle, hiring Thibs, passing on Haliburton for Obi and then giving Obi away for nothing, signing Brunson, trading for Hart, signing DDV which made IQ and RJ more expendable, and then trading IQ and RJ for OG.

The three biggest are Brunson, Hart, and OG.

Here are my 8 biggest developments:
    1) Knicks fire Phil Jackson
    2) Knicks sign Julius Randle
    3) Dolan fires long-term albatross executive Steve Mills and hires Leon Rose, who hires Tom Thibodeau. (I think of this as all one big move)
    4) Knicks assemble a very young rotational core of RJ, IQ, Mitch, Obi, and Grimes.
    4) Knicks trade for Derrick Rose, who complements Randle and propels them to the unlikeliest of 4th seeds, ending a long playoff drought.
    5) Knicks “miss out” on Donovan Mitchell.
    6) Knicks sign Brunson and iHart and retain Mitch in free agency, leading to their first playoff series win in a decade.
    7) Knicks sign DDV in free agency
    8) Knicks trade for OG

Re Durant and Kyrie, I am not sure how that would have turned out, but it’s hard to view that as a positive. No one knows what would have happened in Brooklyn if it weren’t for the pandemic. And if Durant’s big toe was a tiny bit shorter, they might have won a chip.

gonna repeat my game prep similar to last game…

log in and game during the game,
watch the game later so i can fast forward – or pause for 30 or 40 minutes to calm down…

level 29 now in Fallout 76 – even with having played the previous games, so much to remember again…

monsters are starting to get a little tougher now…not really intentionally questing, more just want to visit the whole map…

easy to spend a few very quick hours in the wasteland…

    1. Firing Mills
    2. Opening up space to sign Brunson
    3. Signing I-Hart
    4. Trading for J-Hart
    5. Signing DDV
    6. Trading for OG

We’ve had mixed result drafting, but we did well enough to at least have trade chips with IQ being the most important one.
