    Reminder: 1:00 PM start today!

Is today a must-win? If the goal is a 3-4 seed, think it sort of is. If we lose this game, the goal sort of shifts to avoiding the play-in.

Pretty confident that we will win, but this seems like a bit of a trap game. The Nets are looking to break a losing streak and there’s the Mikal possibly goes off factor…

Every game is important and getting everybody healthy and ready for the playoffs is equally if not more important. It’s a tough task for Thibs and the coaching staff to accomplish. I think they are doing a great job so far.

Anyone able to name the Nets’ starting five without looking?

I looked, and I actually knew them all. Still, I couldn’t do it from scratch.

Doesn’t mean it’s an automatic win, however. But there’s hope…

I’m guessing Claxton, Mikal, O’Neale, Cam Johnson, and I dunno, Schroder?

    [checks]

LOL O’Neale isn’t even on the team anymore!

Gotta get the next 4 – Nets, Pistons, Raptors and Spurs – if we want to have any chance of getting the 3 seed (Cavs have a brutal West coast trip at the end of the month) and also staying in the 4 or 5 spot.

The estimated return date feature on ESPN hasn’t always been accurate but it has Mitch & OG coming back Monday.

I have a bad feeling about this typical trap game against a lottery team after a West coast trip. Even if we win, it won’t be easy. Thibs’ Knicks have been good at those games, but I have enough bad memories from earlier years and my fears refuse to go away. I hope I am wrong.

There’s enough bad memories from the last three weeks (the Sixers game at MSG, the Hawks game at MSG, the Pistons game at MSG) to be nervous about any game we’re playing without OG & Randle.

Boston is starting to look too big to fail. They’re on an 8-game win streak and won a laugher last night starting Tillman and Prichard.

If Boston doesn’t make the finals, then something has gone very wrong. Their only vulnerability is that Tatum is a top-10 player instead of a top-5 player, which is a meaningful drop-off.

Their only talent competition is in the West, either the Denver Jokics or OKC 2026 Western Conference All-Stars. They lost to Denver not so long ago.

Maybe Miami, if Rozier gets it together, or the Knicks, if everyone comes back healthy.

Why so early? At that time (5PM here) i’ll be hiking the mountains around me. Take care of the game, people! 😉

Boston’s vulnerability is that they execute poorly down the stretch in close games. The hard part is keeping the game close long enough to take advantage of that.

A potential bogey team for them in the East is Orlando, who I think are underrated here. Isaac & Suggs are so good defensively I think they could really disrupt their offense. And their huge frontline would be difficult for Tatum & Brown to deal with.

I’d like to think we could give them hell at full strength, too.

And perhaps surprisingly I think Cleveland could be a tough opponent for them.

The old guard of Miami, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia (even w Embiid) has no chance, IMO.

as rough as this year has been for the bucks you have to admit that it’s a bit tantalizing that middleton is suddenly playing like he joined tristan thompson’s book club and that they are +17/100 in 1200 possessions with their big four.

Julius still not cleared for contact.

Thibs also gave no updates on OG and Mitch.

Nice line by Cram in The Athletic today:

‘Since the All-Star break, Hart is leading the NBA with an average of 42.8 minutes per game, and the gap between Hart and second place is as large as the gap between second place and 28th. THIBS!’

You mentioned the other day, Raven, that you were surprised no one criticized the Hart minutes. He’s shown no dropoff in performance over the period and seems indefatigable, so IMO there’s nothing to criticize.

It’s the handling of guys like OG Anunoby (whose injury history is frightening even though we never talk about it) and the two centers (pre-minutes restriction) that merit criticism. Probably Donte, as well, although that’s tapered off since he almost blew out his hamstring playing 41 of 43 minutes.

But Josh Hart seems like he can run around all day, so more power to him.

Yeah, Hubert, I also said that Hart’s rubber and Deuce is steel so maybe it doesn’t matter. It just seemed click-bait-worthy, but it seems we’re in the majority.

I’d like to say I’m feeling good about Bogey today. But I’m not.
