From Marc Berman:
In what the franchise prays is not a harbinger, the Knicks initiated the season’s second half in Milwaukee in disastrous form Thursday.
After all the hope garnered from their season’s first half, the Knicks looked unrecognizable as they fell behind by 35 points in the fourth quarter at Fiserv Forum.
The Bucks, blown out by the Knicks in an early-season contest, gained sweet revenge with a 134-101 pounding behind All-Star MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo’s triple-double (24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists in 29 minutes). The 134 points were the most allowed by the Knicks this season.
“Obviously disappointed with the result,’’ Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. “We were all out of sorts. I don’t think anyone played particularly well.’’
As Julius Randle goes, so goes the Knicks. And he didn’t go well. Randle admitted afterward he has a history of slow starts after the All-Star break.
Randle, who watched live as “the Greek Freak’’ went 16-for-16 in Sunday’s All-Star Game, had a poor post-break outing. Swarmed by the Bucks’ defense, Randle finished with seven points, shot 3 of 12 and committed five turnovers. He did post six assists, but the league’s leader in minutes looked lethargic.
What the fuck does “I have a history of slow starts after the All-Star break” even mean? I get a player slowing down as the season goes along (especially if they’re leading the league in minutes), but somehow tying it to the All-Star break makes no sense.
Especially since Randle had three days off following the All-Star Game, so come on, the All-Star Game is no excuse. Why does he even need an excuse? Players sometimes have bad games, it’s not a hug deal. There doesn’t have to be some excuse for him just having a bad game.
The Knicks continue to miss Mitchell Robinson on defense, as they gave up a season-high in points (five of their ten highest opponent scoring games have occurred in the 11 games they’ve played without Mitch), but they also sadly seem to miss Derrick Rose, too, as the point guard play was putrid tonight.
In general, though, the Bucks were on top of their game tonight and when they’re on top of their game, they’re as good as any team in the NBA, so this was not really all that bad of a loss (okay, it was pretty bad, but you know what I mean. It wasn’t like the Knicks lost to the Pistons or something like that).
Hopefully they right things against a far weaker opponent, Oklahoma City, on Saturday!

Rj played well. His dunk was very nice. Beyond that… I got nothin.
As annoyed as I am that Derrick Rose is back on this team, if his return to health allows Thibs to throw Elfrid Payton down the memory hole, at least that would be something.
The Loss was expected.
The blowout wasn’t after watching the first half.
Julius choking against superstars won’t pay him.
Frank practicing heroball on a play was grotesque and hillarious!
GarbageTime-Obi is better than Obi.
Bucks Revenge was cold as ice and we can use it as an ice bucket challenge to wake up and play much better than that.
From today’s Macri newsletter:
I’m writing that game off as an elite team getting ready for their second half run and looking for a revenge win against a very inferior Knicks team that wasn’t even 100%. Next!.
When I first read that article I thought it was interesting and informative, but I also thought it had a little bit of a “stir the pot” element to it. Now that the name Mills has come up, that thought has been reinforced. I don’t think Mills is a good basketball executive and I don’t trust him to do what’s right by the team either. He’ll do what’s best for Steve Mills, someone else will get the blame and be the bad guy, and he’ll use the press to do it also.
F Steve Mills. Why is he even allowed to be anywhere near The Knicks? Seriously, can’t we fire this dude off into the sun? He’s THE WOOORST (in best John Ralpheo voice)
Mills lost some of his basketball decision-making authority, but there’s no sense in which he was actually “fired,” and he’s almost certainly feeding spy info to Dolan and obviously he and Perry are to Berman. This was always heavily-suspected.
Didn’t watch the game, as i had to deal with another matter -> Zzzzzzzzzz! LOL
It’s just one game, but now i hope we get the W at OKC, because after that it’s BRK and PHI on the road, and if we go 0-4 my anxiety thinking we’ll do a stupid trade by the deadline is gonna go up.
I just don’t get it. Does he have a Dolan pee tape or something? Why is this dude still around?
Last night sucked for sure. When we face another good defensive team that has it clicking on offense and can shut us down, we get spanked.
We desperately need an upgrade at the PG spot and more outside shooting. Lonzo, Devonte Graham, Rozier…we need something. If we don’t pull the trigger this season, fine. But it has to be top priority of the summer. Get an upgrade at PG and draft some shooters!
Steve Mills and the Seven Dolans? Is that a modern remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? 😀
RJ and Obi looked good. Randle has had two stinkers recently. Reversion to the mean?
One of the Strickland writers tweeted this last night:
That’s just flat out indefensible.
It appears that Payton (.486 TS%) and Barrett (.524) have been defended rather well this year. ; )
I’m here before “that torrid shooting by the Bucks last night shouldn’t count against our Opp. 3P%.”
33.4% and rising, boys!
Payton has frozen out RJ since the first day he donned the orange and blue (and occasionally black).
Wow, I didn’t realize how bad it was with Elf and RJ and I’ve generally been an Elf defender. Like I know we need to move on from him but I also see why he still starts on this team given the other options. But that is just bad.
This is why I would totally be down for a Lonzo trade and resign. I get that he might be overpaid. But at his age, with his shooting numbers and ability to share the ball and push the tempo (plus his defense), I think he would do wonders for our team. There are far worst moves we could make than locking up 22 year old Lonzo on a deal that might be an overpay based on his production so far. There is a certain amount of wish casting if you do that, but that to me is better than overpaying for an older free agent who’s best days might be behind him.
I just don’t know what it would take to get it done. Would one first and Knox and Frank be enough? Would some second rounders on top of that do it? Or is NO expecting 2 firsts plus for this dude?
RJ Barrett has played 1227 minutes coming into tonight’s game.
842 of those have come with Elfrid Payton, the team’s starting point guard.
Elf, the starting point guard, has assisted RJ 18 times in that entire time.
the actual # before last night is 25. the tweeter is mistakenly citing rj’s assists to payton.
I don’t see how an Oladipo trade doesn’t happen. Both sides will likely be motivated to do it for one of the ’21 firsts plus Frank or Knox. I’m guessing that the Knicks like him as a buy-low candidate who fits Thibs’ two-way-player mold and feel that they can talk him into staying long-term. Not the move I’d make, but I can’t see Leon not jumping on him. Plus, it makes absolutely no sense for the Rockets to keep him for the rest of the season.
I’m not sure 7 more assists in an 842 minute sample changes the point lol. In comparison, according to the same Twitter account, Derrick Rose has assisted RJ Barrett 8 times in the 110 minutes they’ve spent on the court together. That rate would be good for 64 assists in 880 minutes.
Not on Brock Allerblogger’s watch, especially when the biggest supporter of Victor Oladipo in our FO is Scott “G League Bubble” Perry.
Oladipo is damaged goods at this point. He had that nice season a few years ago, but betting on him to get back to form and not just be an inefficient, overpaid chucker that would also hurt our spacing is foolish. I would disappointed if we traded assets for Oladipo.
I guess I like to repeat myself, but I still don’t understand the Oladipo love at all, He had one very good year. Either it was a fluke or his injuries have set him back. Either way it doesn’t matter. Why are we going to pay a big price for a guy that is either not very efficient on offense or damaged goods and wants to go to Miami anyway. If he was an efficient scorer and came with plus defense, I’d be all for it. But that’s not what you are getting with him.
“I guess I like to repeat myself, but I still don’t understand the Oladipo love at all, He had one very good year.”
It’s kind of like all of the Porzingis love we see despite him having just one very good year as well.
The most I would trade for Victor Oladipo is Elfrid Payton, Iggy Brazdeikis, and a 2023 2nd round pick. At the end of the day, Oladipo has been terrible and we’d be helping Houston save money. The players I really want us to target are Jarred Vanderbilt and Mo Bamba (I have a terrible feeling that Boston is going to trade for Bamba and build a dynasty), but if we can somehow get rid of Elfrid Payton I don’t think it’s an opportunity we can pass by.
Someone on the game thread last night noted that Joe Tait died. After my family moved to TN in 1977, I used to listen to Knicks games vs. the Cavs on WWWE for a few years. Quite a homer, but entertaining to hear. I also recall listening to Mets vs. Cardinals games on KMOX.
RIP Joe.
Let’s not sign up for Victor Oladipo’s decline phase.
>>> Not on Brock Allerblogger’s watch <<<
Brock Allerblogger might be the best contribution to the board since JK47 gifted us with Dolan's Razor.
For real, though, how comforting is it to know that we have a guy on our side in the front office?
You just know Victor Oladipo was the kind of “seasoned veteran” Thibs wanted to trade RJ Barrett for before the season began.
Not on Brock Allerblogger’s watch!!!
I love how the majority of this blog has gone with one article from not knowing Brock Aller existed to being prepared to throw themselves in front of a moving train to protect him.
The most I would trade for Victor Oladipo is Elfrid Payton, Iggy Brazdeikis, and a 2023 2nd round pick. At the end of the day, Oladipo has been terrible and we’d be helping Houston save money.
Frank straight up for Oladipo works in the trade machine. Houston would have to give us a 2nd rounder for saving them money and giving them a free look at Frank.
I wouldn’t hate that trade if we were just acquiring Oladipo for a playoff push. I’d be scared we re-sign him, though.
Knickerblogger?
More like ALLERBLOGGER, AMIRITE?
There. Fixed it for you! 🙂
His follow-up to that star-level season was dreadful. My guess is he had right knee soreness throughout that year, culminating in the first knee injury against the Hawks in November. It only kept him out for a few weeks, but when he returned, he was a shell of his former self. Occasionally (against the Knicks, of course) he turned it on, but he was floundering on offense according to the game log.
There’s a well-known YouTuber doctor named Brian Sutterer who reviews sports injuries, and he tweeted an armchair diagnosis of the quad tendon rupture almost immediately after the injury happened. Sure enough, that’s what it was.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K4mbENDFco
He claims that quad tendon ruptures are quite rare, and often result from pre-existing injuries and/or genetic predisposition. So the question I have is this: are we willing to bet that Oladipo, four years out from a horrific injury, can return to the form he demonstrated in that one season before the knee injury? And then stay on the court long enough to satisfy any contract he could reasonably sign? I sure as hell don’t.
That said, I don’t trust Thibodeau to see 2021 Victor Oladipo. I expect him to see 2017 Oladipo, because he seems to have some kind of disorder in which he cannot tell what year it is.
The reason I expect Oladipo to happen is that I think the cost is going to be pretty low. I think it’s similar to DRose where he represents a compromise option between Thibs wanting to go for it and guys like Aller in the front office expressing patience. I think the team in place is smart enough and patient enough to not throw significant assets at this season when there really isn’t an upgrade out there that’s going to make us anything other than extreme underdogs in a 1st round series as a best case scenario. But I do think they want to make the playoffs this year and obviously Thibs wants to improve the team immediately.
So low cost acquisition is the order of the day and Oladipo makes sense there – he’s too risky for the actual good teams but I expect the Rockets to be motivated sellers and I think that eventually we get a price where he makes sense as a flier. Or at least makes sense to a front office that does care about this season on some level – I personally think it’s a totally reasonable position to place zero value on improving this season but I think we know that the people making the decisions in aggregate doesn’t see it that way.
Berman of the Post performing a valuable public service:
And even when RJ tries to catch Elfrid’s attention, this is what happens
Meanwhile, Begley is pretty plugged in on this stuff, and he reports:
That’s a new format – 7th plays 10th and 8th plays 9th – from what was being talked about. Still no info about the draft, but i guess it’ll be the 2 teams that lose the play-in games.
Any day now they’ll change heaves to their own separate category so we don’t have to hear “oh he’s just got a low 3PT% because he takes all the end of quarter shots from 3/4 court” anymore.
They should do that but at the rate its going, with players at a younger and younger age practicing heaves and super long 3’s, it would be interesting to see how they would define a “heave.”
A super off balance, heavily guarded, sort of long 3 might be a harder shot than a “heave” taken beyond half court where the player has a running start and is relatively open when taking it. Especially if they’ve practiced that shot a lot.
I think Oladipo is just a bad gamble, for whatever small fee it is. Anything more than 1 or 2 seconds for a guy with a below .500 ts% is too much, honestly, and even in the unlikely scenario that he ends up playing well we have no leverage at all to keep him without giving him a bad contract that he’s surely not outperforming. Absolutely 100% don’t do it.
Bradley Beal at least ia currently very good and has a history of being good, Oladipo had one good, not even great, season and that’s it.
This is exactly what I want to hear.
I kinda hope nobody bites on Oladipo and the Rockets are forced to attach an asset to dump his salary.
Can anyone confirm that Aller isn’t DRed?
Yeah, this is what everyone assumes. I think the league is keeping it under wraps to avoid teams trying to come up with some funky way to game the lotto system or do a last minute tank.
Sorry for so many posts in a row, but they’re all pretty unconnected.
I still think Aller is a tulpa created by our collective angst that didn’t exist prior to that article being written and will disappear once we get too contented. It’s too good to be true that someone important in the front office is not an idiot, short-sighted or both.
Not to be the “I loved that band before they were cool,” but I’ve been talking about Brock Aller as our asset-accumulating secret weapon on this here blog for months (here is one example), and nobody paid me no mind whatsoever.
Not that I’m bitter about it or anything. I’m just cooler than the rest of you.
That was me. I used to pick up the radio signal from WWWE when the atmosphere was just right all the way from New York. I enjoyed listening to him. Pete Franklin too.
Hmmm Aller, Alan… knickerblogger philosphy to team building… Alan has been the most active I’ve seen here this season… hmmmmm
Jokes aside (or is it?), the one unexpected thing from this leak has beem incredibly positive, which is a nice chance of pace. We all knew what Thibs was going to be like, we all knew Wes would push Kentucky players and his friends, we all knew Rose was at least a smart guy with connections, but Aller having a voice and it being strong enough to matter is really a welcome change of pace.
The silver lining is this may force Thibs’ hand about playing Quickley big minutes at point guard. I wonder if Jared Harper is even an option for this game, even just as an in-case-of-emergency player.
Lol, I remember the tiny news blurb when Rose brought him in as a cap expert from the Cavs. We had some discussion on him then but nobody knew much.
People (or maybe it was just you?) started throwing his name around after the slick draft day moves and the Ed “2021 NYK MVP” Davis* trade.
*given the actual season I should probably rethink his nickname. Also because Spellman didn’t workout, pun initially unintended.
Anyways, excellent call. I approve this well-earned victory lap.
Actually, I think the caller was called The Great Swami.
I tried to add that to my post above, but it was flagged as SPAM?!
Edit.. and now my entire reply to NetsTown is gone. What?
If the 2-way guys don’t dress when we have 4 guys out, what do we have them for?
2nd attempt (first was posted but removed as SPAM??). Yes, I remember Pete Franklin. His weekly NFL predictions were intro’d with “Pigskin Pete predicts.” He had a trash-talking rivalry with a guy known as “The Great Swami.”
I used to listen to WWWE and KMOX to listen to Knicks and Mets games after moving to Crossville, TN in 1977.
This happened to me some threads ago, i submitted and the post just vanished…
I thought Harper was in the G-League bubble, no? So I don’t think he can join the team easily.
Also, Thibs would have Randle running PnRs with Obi for 48min before he ever went that deep in his bench
The W-Knicks ended their season March 4, so i guess Jared Harper is probably available.
If your post dissapears try pressing the “go back” arrow of your browser and check at the writing box. You may find your comment there.
I pressed it twice right now and found there firstly a post i made 12 hours ago and after the second time i pressed it i found the last post i made during the game.
If Payton is out, then it’d be Point Burks, I imagine, with Frank starting.
I’ve had that happen, too, submit a post that doesn’t appear. But his one was submitted and posted. Then I edited to add a bit, got a SPAM message, and the post vanished.
Must be Pete Franklin still touches a nerve all these years later!
it may be a little while before we win another game…we face orlando at home on the 18th, not to be too much of a fair weather fan, but – holy cow, any reason to expect julius to have a terrible second half?
he’s starting to force things more it seems…the last month and a half his turnover rate has been going up…
Yeah, I suspect Thibs PG depth chart goes:
(1) Frank
(2) Quickley
(3) Burks w/ Knox possibly sliding back into the rotation as a wing
(4) Force Payton to play thru injury, have him take 20 shots anyways
(5) RJ
(6) Randle
(7) Sign and play Joakim Noah at PG, maybe Kirk Heinrich
(8) Knox
(9) Obi
…
(?) Ron Harper
…
(???) Jared Harper
We play OKC tomorrow. And after that tough stretch we get a couple games against the Wizards, which should help balance things out a bit
Maybe this headline in the Athletic has jinxed them “ The Knicks look like a playoff team. New York can thank the Derrick Rose trade”
https://theathletic.com/2436393/2021/03/11/why-the-derrick-rose-trade-has-the-knicks-looking-like-a-playoff-team/
Are their GMs just bored or something?
Ha. Clearly. I’m guessing a pronunciation bet, and Troy Weaver lost so he had to thrown in the pick.
wow, houston looks like they are going for a full on tank…damn, this was a good year to be at the bottom…
maybe we should have kept fiz around a little longer…just kidding…
Yeah, but all kidding aside, I still believe that the best path forward was to keep Mike Miller around for another year. Leon just couldn’t resist hiring his old friend Tom. Alas…
Haha! Franklin was definitely the controversial type. Didn’t he move to NY and WFAN late in his career?
Jared Harper would definitely kick start our offense, if he got to play. Payton seems to be constantly sleep walking. Harper would probably hurt our defense but we have others to worry about that, don’t we?
What do you guys think about the Covid vaccines? Are you taking them or will you? I just took my second Pfizer shot today on my doctor’s advice, but I’m at a higher risk than most. Feeling woozy now.
that would have definitely put our man Aller more in charge…
i don’t know, hopefully the guys who’ll end up staying for a while are learning how to play better defense…
i definitely appreciate the 19 wins and everything, but, i’m beginning to feel a little buyers remorse now…this would have been a good year for us to tank…
i keep hearing the same feedback on that second shot nets’ town…i go for my first next week…
i’ll be glad to be finished with it next month…no guarantees and all, but – yeah, it’ll be nice…
i’ve never gotten a flu shot…i’m not a conspiracy nut or anything, but, spending time in the military made me a little suspicious of widespread vaccinations…i think it was them putting saltpeter in mess food at one time that still triggers me, that probably happened in like the 50’s, who cares…i ain’t trying to get slipped no limp dick vial of anything…
i remember i had this one job in the military where i had to travel around and inspect recruiting stations for their admin stuff – god but i loved showing up to tell people: i was from the government – and, i was there to help them…
no doubt no one else thought it was funny, but it killed me every time…
It seems like they disagreed with Tucker’s agent over how much he was worth. He wanted $24M over two years and they only wanted to pay $17M.
I’d be very happy to get the Pfizer vaccine
My parents got the Chinese vaccine, Sinovac, and it was a huge relief for us. I’ll take whatever comes my way, here in Brazil it’s going to be either the Oxford one or the Chinese and I’m fine with any.
I got both Moderna shots already. Got sick for a day after the second one, but otherwise been fine. Strongly in favor of everyone getting theirs as soon as they’re able.
The Sputnik vaccine is out there too. I would never take that one though.
I think Mykhailiuk overlaps too much with Bey, but he’s an interesting player. I think it makes sense for both teams.
The play-by-play guy for Detroit threw in half his salary to make it happen
PS Clyde dealing with the double trouble of Giannis and Thanasis was funny
I love it when people all get used to a certain pronunciation and the player has to sheepishly later say, “Uhmm…yeah, it’s actually X.” That’s why Armen Gilliam literally changed the spelling of his first name to its phonetic spelling, because everyone (me included) were calling him “Ar-MON.”
I got my 1st Pfizer last Friday and am fine so far. Had a little soreness where I was injected and felt a little warm.
No other probs so far.
I got my Pfizer at the Javits Center on Sunday mornings..,.parked a couple of blocks away, in and out in 45 minutes. There was such a big national guard presence it was like a scene out of the movie Outbreak…
I got my 2nd Moderna this week at a small pharmacy near me. No reaction besides soreness. I would also encourage all eligible people to get vaxxed.
Received Pfizer #1 last Wednesday. No reaction apart from a sore arm the next day. Got it at one of the LA County super sites, not a drive through but inside a huge gym in the Valley. Arriving at 9:30 am for a 10 am appointment, I was dismayed to see a long line of folks waiting outside the gym. So long that I figured It would take me more than 1/2 an hour to get onside.
I figured wrong. By 10 am I was already vaccinated & in my car headed home. Turns out the line was folks without appointments who were already queuing up in hopes of getting any unused doses left over at the end of the day. When I learned that was what those folks were waiting for, I took note of them. Mostly young folks, 20s – 40s, and not a single person of color among them. I guess that would at least partially explain the reports that the vaccine has been rather inequitably distributed thus far.
It’s the morning after my 2nd shot and I’m feeling little symptoms except for my sore arm. The wooziness that I felt last night seems to be gone. I’ll take at easy for a day or two anyway, just to be safe.
I had a lot of trouble getting a vaccine appointment for my mother for a few weeks but she’s got one at Aqueduct on 3/30. I can probably find one sooner, but she’s 86 and isn’t good with traveling and change. So I’m just going to wait. I screwed myself. I wasn’t eligible for one (until this week). So I didn’t even bother looking. I went for an annual physical last week and my doctor recommended I get the shingles vaccine also (which was available locally). So I did that. The very next day they opened up my age category for the Covid vaccine, but I have to wait 14 days after Shingrix to get the Covid vaccine. After all that waiting, the very next day. ughhh
Matinee today….hopefully OKC players went out last night. UWS was hopping yesterday!
Quickley has a sore groin, so he may not play much, either. And Thibs has talked about Point Burks again, which… dude, just play Jared Harper at that point.
tnfh’s boy Poku showing signs of life lately…
SGA is out so this should be a win….should be…
city’s roaring back to life. If you tried to get an uber last night you had to pay 4x surge pricing!!
although, even if OKC players did go out last night, they were done by 11 bc we still have a curfew.
More good (bad?) luck for the Knicks…Embiid is out 2-3 weeks, meaning he will surely miss the next two games against us.
If you have a Walgreens near you and are willing to repeatedly check their website, it seems to be getting an ongoing supply of Moderna. Two of my friends that are over 60 got appointments on the same day that they booked. You might be able to get one for your mom, prior to 3/30, and if lucky you can have one on same day.
if you are in NYC, google northwell vaccine and you’ll find a vaccine center that has been really easy to get appointments at. I think they open up a couple 100 appointments every monday. After months of the worst luck, I got appointments for at least a dozen friends and family through that site.
Strat, there is a Northwell on Marcus Ave, which IIRC is not far from you. My mom’s caregivers got vaxxed there.
https://www.northwell.edu/coronavirus-covid-19/vaccine
Check out Walgreens. My wife got an appointment there quickly.
If not formally, I’m pretty sure Walgreens is basically allowing walk ins for people in her age group. They also have an appointment system you can try. Definitely worth a shot.
Also, a great resource for Strat and anyone else trying to find an appointment in NY: https://www.turbovax.info/
Refresh it constantly. Facilities post appointments at random times, and of course cancellations occur frequently.
If anyone here eligible is struggling with the tech aspect, I’m more than happy to help you out with making an appointment.
When i read this, i thought “first world problems”, because here in Portugal for now it’s only for 79+. But then all the guys started saying they’ve already took it, and i felt better.
Here it’s like in Brasil, Bruno, just for old folks. Of course i’d take one if i could, i have asthma, but for now i have to keep on being careful and wait for my time, probably only at the end of the summer.
https://nypost.com/2021/03/12/knicks-playoff-drought-just-got-harder-to-end/
So it looks like the 7th and 8th finishers play to determine the 7th place slot, then the 9th and 10th play to determine who plays the loser of the 7-8 matchup for the 8th seed. The losers are deemed not in the playoffs and in the lottery. So in short, a) finishing with the 7th or 8th best record does not eliminate you from lottery in and of itself, and b) finishing 9th or 10th (or even 7th or 8th) does not technically make you a “playoff” team, i.e. the “play-in” games are not considered to be “playoff” games.
I suppose the silver lining is that we can finish as high as 7th and still be a lottery team…same for the Mavs.
If we’re serious about playoff contention… must be!
I heard that the EU was slow in obtaining the vaccines. Why?
Thanks. What about New Jersey? I have a 78yo uncle-in-law down in Point Pleasant who hasn’t been vaccinated yet, he claims that he “put his name in but they haven’t called him yet.” He’s an extreme technophobe, so we might have to help him…
Wait… What?? :O
When Alan shared that link yesterday, it said the 7th played the 10th and the 8th played the 9th. Is it usual to change an article and not stating it’s a revised article? Or did i dreamt this? Alan, did you read what i read?
Oh, i’m seeing now that it says “updated” in a tiny link near the article’s date. So he didn’t knew sh*t and then had to correct the article. Man, that’s bad.
Thanks for the help.
It’s been a mess, and it isn’t clear who’s fault is it. What i know is we’re making the vaccines, and we financed it, but somehow the agreement wasn’t very clear in protecting we had access to the vaccines first.
It appears NJ is using two systems: one in which people give their information and await a call like your uncle said, and another in which you schedule directly with a provider. Needless to say, my strong inkling is people will have much more success with the latter. It’s a huge failure that someone pushing 80 hasn’t been called-in yet via the former.
This spreadsheet lists all of the providers in Jersey with links that let you schedule appointments directly. He should be able to pick the closest location to him (somewhere in Ocean County) and schedule directly with them.
I’d add that most of the NY locations listed on Turbovax don’t have residency requirements, so if your uncle is able to drive to one of them they’d work just fine. Just make sure not to schedule an appointment with one of the few that has a residency requirement (Turbovax specifies explicitly).
I would camp in line for days on end to get vaccinated at this point
I hope that Jared Harper gets some burn today. At least he’ll keep the team awake.
I got my second Moderna shot yesterday and other than a sore arm feel normal. Well, my normal anyway. Vaccine seems to be plentiful here in Florida. Publix administered my doses with Sarasota, Manatee, and Hillsborough counties calling to schedule as well after my first shot.
A PG that is good at 3P is not for Thibs tastes. 😛
Each NJ county is different, but I had my best success by checking my county website constantly until appointments opened up. There are also Twitter bots that keep track of available appointments for various counties and private providers, so you can find the right one, follow it and set up notifications on your phone for when they tweet. Here’s one of the bots: https://twitter.com/nj_vaccine?s=21
Yeah, but it didn’t end well. He left less than 2 full years in. His insulting style did not go over well, but I guess he was actually ahead of his time as far as talk radio hosting. I ended up googling him yesterday and listening to some very low-fi youtube audio recordings of him and The Great Swami going back and forth about which of them was the smartest. A stroll down Memory Lane.
Franklin and Tait both apparently ran afoul of the infamous Cavs owner Ted Stepien.
Someone should wake Brian for the game thread. 😀
‘Tis already up!
