I love that in all of the redrafts from the previous post none of the Knicks’ picks appear.

    How Knicksy can you get?

It’s funny that the Wizards suck but they’re just barely out of the Eastern Conference playoffs at the moment. Will the East ever not suck? The Knicks are three games out of a playoff spot right now! Hell, they’re only 5 games back of the Pistons, who are 10-7!

Oh man, every time I look at the standings, then the Knicks go in the wrong direction.

Oh Clyde. Sometimes it’s the simple things. I’m expecting both teams to shoot poorly tonight, as his suit is gonna screw with their eyes.

The Knicks are just too talent-devoid to really win many games, I’m not worried about them getting into the playoffs.
What I AM worried about, is how many games it’s going to take for the brass to realize the best plan of action. Usually we go on an early tear in October/November and delay it; this year, I don’t know.

Can I just take a moment to say I fucking loathe the stupid casino commercial on MSG. None of the others are this loud. Why do they subject us to this one ridiculous outlier?

When Blake kinda caught Frank from falling earlier after he traveled I thought he was gonna cut the umbilical cord

Can I ask why so many people think we’re devoid of talent?

I get saying “our talent is young and unproven and there’s a lot of development and improvement that needs to happen in order for us to become a good team.”

    But devoid of talent?

Hardaway Jr. is playing very well and earning his contract. I know…blasphemy!

Trier – showing lots of talent
Mitchell – showing lots of talent
Knox – I mean, he was drafted after his freshman year at Kentucky which typically has some of the best basketball recruits in the country
Frank – all ready elite on one side of the ball. Has ways to go on offense but without talent?
Burke – he can score. That takes talent!
Kanter – one of the best inside scorers and rebounders in the league. Again, you have to be talented to do that.
    Mudiay – top 5 pick
    Vonleh – lottery pick
    Mario – top pick 6.

Oh and there’s this 7’3″ guy who is going to come back at some point this season who’s got some talent too.

How are we devoid of talent? I know you probably mean in regards to the established talent around the league and we don’t have a superstar or whatever…but we have talent. Its just raw and needs developing.

We’re devoid of players that are good at basketball and of players that project to be good at basketball. The only young ones who project to be decent NBA players are KP, Mitch Rob, Vonleh, and maybe Trier. That’s not a core you can build around as of yet. We’re talent starved despite all the losing, especially in comparison to teams like Phoenix, Sacto, and Dallas.

Kanter with approaching another likely double-double by half time. Surely there is a contender that could use him? That salary is such a millstone.

I guess the article his agent planted with Berman about that onerous team option for $1.6 million that has everyone in the NBA calling paid off

It sucks to be so good at something that you make a move that maybe a few dozen people on the planet can pull off and your dad is in the stands watching and looks thoroughly bored

The Warriors must be so shook about the possibility of playing this squad in the finals

Imagine if a team had Michael Beasley, Derrick Williams and Hasheem Thabeet on it, though! They’re all #2 picks. So much freakin’ talent!

Our starters shot 10-31 with two threes and all were +.

Andre Drummond played an absolutely terrible half of basketball.

Mario has basically become Frank without the defense- He’s not even looking at the basket.

wow, 5 assists on 50 shots…that’s not really good is it…one day we’ll get get a point guard, one day…

Imagine if a team had Michael Beasley, Derrick Williams and Hasheem Thabeet on it, though! They’re all #2 picks. So much freakin’ talent!

But could that team beat the Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Bennett, and Andrew Wiggins buzzsaw? I’m not so sure.

Mario read he was in there for defense and believed it and now he’s about to foul out in 15 minutes

MitchRob’s ability to draw fouls is remarkable. Although that looked pretty clean on Griffin.

Mitch’s body language is perpetually “mom called us in for dinner but I wanna stay out”

Hardaway should take some classes with Trier on shot selection. First lesson: take it to the rim.

What you have to admire about this team is that I’m no longer worried about them trailing heading into the fourth because I know they’ll give it their all instead of quitting like the Knicks of the past…five years?

I’m all for playing him as much as possible but holy shit Knox is an eyesore out there

    What’s a giraffe sign?

Can you be certain he wasn’t calling him one of those floppy man air dancer advertisements outside of car dealerships?

Stanley Johnson heard how we were talking about him being a bust it seems….

Zaza has had some impressive longevity for a guy who is a total prick on the court…

Floppy car dealership man is actually way better. That’s how I’ll choose to visualize it from now on.

I had not idea what you were talking about but youtube solves all…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AArsrcX6yCs

Little strange if that made someone buy a car…

I love Trier. i don’t think he’ll be a huge difference maker and I don’t have a natural love of the breed but he is my kind of scorer. Very heady and draws fouls.

Stanley or Ish for tonight’s Jimmer Award? I kind of feel like Ish might have won one before….

Did I miss Knox randomly throwing his hands all over the place like a full Bargnani?

Also I think Frank is officially in the dog house, which is pretty lame despite the fact that he’s absolutely useless

Someone make a gif of the kid.

I wish Frank were better. Or that we could graft him on to Trier.

Well the Hawks just won their 5th. Miami going on that incredible run two years ago after December was not good for them.

I think Trier is already the best scoring guard we’ve had since… I honestly don’t know when. I’ve seen him make highlight scoring drives like no one we’ve had in recent memory. And they’re not lucky pullup jumpers.

Didn’t get to see the game, but Trier with 24 points on 11 shots, 10 rebounds, 7 assists?

That’s some big boy basketball right there!

Not as close as the score but the Knicks ain’t winning if Hardaway, Mudiay, and Burke all shoot like crap. Zeros across the board for Frank in 15 minutes- neither he nor Knox would have gotten in the game in the second half if not for the score/foul trouble. It’s really tough to see how the Knicks will continue to give them minutes unless Hezonja is benched because you have to think Dotson played himself back into the rotation.

You will never not see me get excited about a rookie with those numbers in any game against any team. I, like Owen, see a guy who won’t do much more than drive and shoot for the rest of his career, but I’d be thrilled if he proved me wrong.

“You will never not see me get excited”? I legit don’t know what you’re saying here. Are you complimenting Trier or criticizing him?

So apparently Michigan State and Louisville are milking the last minute of OT with intentional fouls. Again, I argue for a first-to-21 ending in OT to fully eliminate foul bullshit at the end of games.

The only reason I care about this is that Duke’s 10 minutes into their game… PUT THEM ON THE TV.

I would generally agree on this opinion about Trier, but I think there’s a lot of value in a guy who can score efficiently and get to the line a lot of times and that’s all he does, specially if eventually he develops into a decent defender. Trier did have 10 rebounds and 7 assists today, so maybe if he gets more playing time and gets a bigger role on the team the non-scoring numbers would look better too.

I like this loss. On any other night, this is a win. They could not hit the ocean from the pier. Trier looked magnificent. Knox and Robinson, not so much. That’s what should bother folks.
