    From Marc Stein:

Yi Jianlian update: ESPN sources say the Lakers are now in the midst of finalizing a one-year deal in the $8 million range w/the China star.

This must be a joke, right?

I have no idea how he’s progressed since he’s left the NBA, but yes, it certainly sounds like a bad idea. How in the world do the Lakers have that much cap space left to spend?

He seems more physically developed at this time, probably more confident and mature. Looked pretty good vs. USA and the other Olympic teams, so who knows?

Yeah, a more physically developed Yi would at least theoretically be a good player. But I really have no idea if it would work in practice.

    $8 Million???? Holy cow!!!!

I don’t know about their cap situation but the money probably comes from the marketing budget.

    22.4 pts/36
    0.53 TS%
    7.2 rebs/36
    1.2 ast/36

I don’t know if we can call this a development, but I’m not impressed.

He’s scoring a lot of points. 3rd in the tournament. That seems to be the reason why the Lakers is willing to pay 8 million.

Watching Durant carve up Argentina with his usual efficient array of shots makes me a little ill thinking of him joining the Warriors.

Jennings is our xfactor because maybe he is a threat to score 55points on any given night,

He scored 55 points in a game once in his rookie season. He’s never even had 38 points in a game since then. So…huh?

Definitely need better floor spacers for Carmelo.

Hernangomez had a pretty impressive game against France: 16 points on 8/11 shooting, 5 rebounds, and a steal in 17 minutes. Excellent stuff.
