Count me among those who are very (pleasantly?) surprised that nothing has gone down yet.

The Kawhi situation makes me think that we look at caps and aprons with a little naïveté. Ballmer got caught, but owners, agents and front offices can set-up alternative income streams through endorsements and partnerships to make-up for cap limitations. When you get teammates to sacrifice straight salary, then the commitment speaks volumes about a team’s culture. If Ballmer’s and Kawhi’s punishment is light or nonexistent- that undermines the entire cap and apron system. A player that leaves is doing so because they are ready to move on or the owners are unwilling to make up the salary shortfall.

Can’t believe I watched all 10 minutes of that, Owen. And maybe need to watch it again. Such a long time coming.

    I’m assuming the best! 🙂

Lol Detroit is giving John Collins 50 million dollars. Not the best plan.

Whatever happens with Mitch, knowing that we are bringing back 8 of our top 9 is awesome! And if somehow Dolan relents and we go into the season with both Mitch and Huk in the fold, man, that would be LIT!

Speaking of which, my daughter convinced me to get tix for tomorrow night’s concert at Jones Beach Theater….Santana and the Doobies. So what that it might be 100 degrees? I wouldn’t be surprised if at least 1 Knick is there. Might wear my Willis jersey!

It’s probably good news on the Mitch front, but it could also mean we are working on a deal to move other players to make space.

That’s a great place to see a show. Have fun.

I’m seeing them tonight in Saratoga Springs. Also a great place.

Woke up this morning, walked into my office to check the news, breathed huge sigh of relief that there was no “Mitch signs with Pelicans” news.

Tobias Harris must be gone. Not really convinced John Collins has ever been the answer to any team’s problem.

…at least I’d guess this is a Harris replacement instead of a Duren replacement. If he does replace Duren, good for us.

I’ve never been to jones beach for a show. I always puss out on the shlep. Looks like a great venue though, and I love the Doob-way more than The Dan.

But the heat, my god the heat.

This will be my 4th time seeing Santana, starting back in April 1975 at Colgate U. Unfortunately I will have to be relatively sober this time. I have seen them twice at JBT and it rained hard both times but I still had a blast. Hopefully Carlos still has it.

I think that’s a good move for Detroit. They replaced Tobias Harris with a better player who is 5 years younger and saved $9.5M.

Wow, Norman Powell to the Bulls? Doesn’t that suck for the Heat?

Someone reported he was gone after the Giannis trade. I thought it was weird because his shooting/perimeter shot creation definitely fit a need for them.

Saw Santana at Jiffy Lube Live in Virginia not so very long ago. He still had it then, and probably still does.

Yeah, I think it was hard cap thing.

Powell to the Bulls is very good for us. He could have really helped a team like Detroit.
