He didn’t negotiate on behalf of the Knicks in the Hartenstein deal, either.

I sure don’t want to go back to the time when we didn’t have Leon Rose.

I plan on having a lazy Xbox day and wait for NBA news after I go outside and cut this grass before it gets too hot lol. That’s it. That’s the comment.

    Happy Sunday, errybody!

    Diawara, Pate, Staley!
As Billy Gibbons used to sing:
    Every night a new surprise!
At least we’re somehow “amused” while waiting for the REAL DEALS

They say 109 degrees F in Portugal and elsewhere in the region today (that’s almost 43 C). Stay cool and hydrated, folks!

it’s annoying they get to keep hartenstein but also retain jaylin williams on such a friendly contract. he struggled a bit with fouls in the playoffs but he’s a really useful player that can skeleton key into a lot of nba lineups that are otherwise tough to round out, since he can pass, is a willing shooter and will help with paint protection and rebounding.

I’m a bit surprised he didn’t bet on himself and try to get to a team that would play him more. But I guess 24 million isn’t chump change.

I really loved Jaylin in the draft. Fuckin’ OKC…

If they decline Hartenstein’s team option or after next season to save money, they get Jaylin on what should be a team-friendly deal for 2 seasons.

Fun(k) with numbers: tilt your head this way, Mark Williams is a great get:

Williams is one of only four players to have averaged at least 13 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per 36 minutes in 2,500 minutes or more over his three seasons in the league.

Tilt your head the other way, Williams is a lousy get:

The Hornets were a slightly better rebounding team with Williams off the floor (grabbing 50.4% of available boards) than they were with him on the floor (48.9%) this past season. And opponents shot 65.1% at the rim when he was there, a mark which ranked just 62nd among 99 players who defended at least 200 shots at the rim.

Went to BJ’s yesterday and bought a box of Island Way sorbet. I had never heard of it, so this was an impulse buy. It is sorbet in a fruit shell. Anyways..I grabbed the Red Berry/Grapefruit flavored one in the Grapefruit shell out of the freezer because I thought that might be my least favorite one, and IT WAS AMAZING for cheap sorbet. Life is grand.

Hopefully the Knicks will have the same type of unexpectedly good offseason

Didn’t he fumble the ball on the last play of the series? Not saying he threw the game, but….

Nothing like staying in on a hot summer day and watching Frankie Montas put the punctuation mark on the Mets June swoon.

Also, it feels like at least one NBA championship will be the result of a team getting lucky with their players coming free when nobody has money, saving them enough money to make an extra acquisition.

In re Beasley — they only care(d) about the integrity of the games and the competition to the extent that its lack was (is) seen as bad for business.

The Mets are actual hot trash. They’re getting their brains beaten in every day by the worst teams in MLB.

Not a playoff team. Can’t pitch or hit. Bad starting pitching, bad relief pitching, bad lineup, bad fielding.

They were a complete mirage for two months.

    SHAMS:

Breaking: Three-time NBA all-star Julius Randle intends to sign a new three-year, $100M deal to stay with the Timberwolves,

Julius gets paid, albeit not a huge contract Can Minnesota still afford NAW after this?

Julius had to negotiate with a GM who negotiated on only his team’s behalf and so, although he’s CAA, signed for roughly 10M less in AAV, and less than half OG’s total value.

Nothing like staying in on a hot summer day and watching Frankie Montas put the punctuation mark on the Mets June swoon.

I have no animus against the Mets, but at the same time, it was really weird to have multiple posts a day about how good the Mets were, so this June swoon at least stops that…for now (I am sure the Mets will go on a hot streak later this season).

That’s an excellent deal by Connolly. I think that guy is a really talented GM.

While I don’t think actually playing really well for two months constitutes a mirage, I will accept the right now the Mets suck absolute donkey kong.

It’s funny/sad, I also follow the Mariners for reasons, and they’ve had exactly the same season as the Mets except even worse — terrific start, complete collapse. Raleigh is still swinging, but I expect that to end after the home run derby screws up his swing.

    FROM SHAMS:

Just in: The Utah Jazz are trading Collin Sexton and a 2031 second-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic, sources tell ESPN.

Does this mean Danny is finally going to trade Walker Kessler?

    Lakers are hot for him.

Yeah, it sure does sound like Ainge is preparing for a monster offer for Kessler, as Nurkic is a respectable enough starter at center, and Fillipowski is an on okay backup (with a chance to take the starting job himself).

Weird. I remember Leon resigning Randle to a very team friendly deal the summer after Randle just made second team all NBA and led the Knicks to their first playoff appearance in almost a decade. I also remember last summer Leon extending Brunson to a super team friendly deal. Guess those don’t count as working for the team though when you have a very specific ax to grind.

Why does it feel like everyone except the Celtics is getting better and we are doing nothing other than generating ridiculous headlines like us being interested in Dawn Staley?
