The Knicks head to Indiana to take on the Pacers, who are the #4 seed behind the Knicks, but the Knicks have a healthy four game advantage on them in the loss column, but a win tonight would be nice to make sure that the Pacers know that the Knicks will go their way with the top of the conference, and the Pacers can go trek around in the muck with the rest of the conference.
Let’s go, Knicks!
58 would still be great!

Sneeze Sneeze!
I love Josh Hart.
Me, too.
ESPN feed broken for both current games. No bueno.
KAT has 3 rebounds already.
Haliburton is one of the few players in the NBA that generates a negative physical reaction from me just by seeing his face. Reggie was like that too.
OG deserves a raise.
That’s funny, Strat. I started out loving Hali, but he’s slowly morphing into a villain to me, as well.
seems like we wanted to come out and make a statement…but with achoowa in your starting lineup…there’s a hard ceiling there…
This is unwatchable right now.
Precious showing great footwork!
Oh good Huk is the first sub off the bench to replace KAT, this will definitely get the offense humming now….
Huk! Now we make our run…
I’m presuming you’re not being facetious, BBA…
Ok so I guess tonight there will be no fouls called on Brunson
Here i am… let’s win this! 🙂
From now on if any regular Knicks starter is missing I should probably just not watch the game to save myself aggravation…
Brunson doing next to nothing. Good thing KAT came to play.
Oh good we came out of the timeout with the same stupid lineup.
Maybe Brunson needs to you know, get teammates opportunities.
KAT should get 40 tonight with Turner out.
Okay, maybe Towns is better than Huk. But only a little.
Okay, we won the first quarter. Three more to go.
I love that Precious is a good FT shooter, because it’s good for us, of course, but also because opposing fans get super excited for seeing a big on the FT line and then he makes both.
Precious came into tonight shooting 60% from the FT line.
I am sure Landry Shamet has hit a shot in the regular season. I just can’t recall it.
Thibs needs to get a technical over this refereeing. I know he doesn’t get techs, but it’s time.
Thibs!!!!
Another reminder of how awful NBA refs are.
Delon Wright can’t possibly be worse than Shamet.
Well, it’s eye test only, then. 😀 Whenever i see him at the FT line he makes both. Or at least when i pay attention. 😛
In fairness I was surprised he was shooting that low too 😂
Precious gonna play all 48 mins?
Indiana is playing annoyingly good defense
Nope Precious finally sits with 8 mins left in 2nd quarter.
Every time I think the Knicks can’t play any worse on defense they prove me wrong.
Contrary to what Clyde says, it looks like both teams can afford to trade baskets
KAT has 19 points. Jalen has 2.
Hey cyber, were you a fan of Maria Teresa Horta? Is her death a big deal there?
I guess except for defending KAT
Deuce on fire, let’s have him shoot 3P every play.
this is looking like it’ll stay close throughout…
Oops, i have to say i don’t know who she is.
deuce with some key rebounds…
Deuce has been a huge spark off the bench tonight.
Tackling Deuce on a 3PA is certainly a choice.
KAT got a new thumb?
Get Shamet back out there. That Brunson is painful to watch…
Never mind…
Hart and Brunson having terrible games and we’re up 10.
How did Towns do that?
KAT is taking over this game holy shit.
Geo, with a good Cronin! 😀
Precious with so many reckless out of control close outs.
Brunson fouled Siakam with his face?
jalen brunson is one tough athlete…
both teams are 10-10 from the line
Josh with the futbol move there
And yeah, that Precious layup attempt was fubar
I think in this case “ball don’t lie”
Hart beginning to do Hart things in a positive way.
Won the second quarter. Two more to go…
Then Hart misses a FT and a layup at the buzzer…
keep reminding myself with the precious/siakam matchup that precious is only making six million a year…
Giving the Pacers crowd kudos for being boisterously partisan and really loud. No “Let’s go Knicks!” chants there.
KAT also somehow credited with 3 steals in the 1st half.
Precious played 20 mins in the 1st half mainly to cover Siakam who torched him, please more Deuce instead in the 2nd half. Only 10 mins for Deuce in the 1st half is a travesty considering how great he played.
Also maybe Bridges comes back to life. At least on offense.
I thought Bridges at least did a pretty good job defending Hali in the 1st half.
So far, Shillinova…but at least we have one Wild KAT…okay I’ll stop.
Agreed, BBA.
Nilinova?
I would’ve given you props Z-man if you could’ve somehow included a Deuce West Virginia pun!
Hart has become a bricklayer from 3 point range
Brunson with the Benny Hill sequence there…
Brunson’s worst game as a Knick?
Tumultuous evening for the captain
wow not smart jalen
Might be worst game of Brunson’s Knicks career.
Brunson having a No Good Terrible Horrible Very Bad Day
God damn it, KAT’s losing fingers by the week.
Brutal game for Brunson’s +/-
If only we had another PG on the bench hey Thibs?
Excellent passing there by the Pacers…
Indiana mid ranging the Knicks to death.
Pistons nip and tuck with the Bulls, 71-29 at halftime
It could be worse, could be a Bulls fan. ooof
It’s funny that the KAT trade was controversial because without it our season would’ve been over weeks ago
Bridges is no longer playing good defense on Hali…
Payne has been awful since Brunson picked up his 5th foul.
It’s funny how it’s clear immediately when Payne’s three pointers are off.
I wonder if we have the cheapest bench in the league…
“It’s funny that the KAT trade was controversial because without it our season would’ve been over weeks ago”
Okay troll.
Thank god for the Pacers shitty defense, the paint is w-i-i-de open
Indiana currently shooting 25 for 37 from 2pt range.
“Thank god for the Pacers shitty defense, the paint is w-i-i-de open”
Sadly, for both teams…
Wasn’t trying to be remotely controversial? Does anyone actually deny what I said?
obi may not believe that josh hart exists
How the fuck does Philly lose at home against Toronto even with their “Big 3” all playing?
I remember that Kenny Sky Walker dunk contest. Clyde Drexler said something like Kenny Wakler has gone where no man has gone before….
“Wasn’t trying to be remotely controversial? Does anyone actually deny what I said?”
It’s a dumb statement. You are better than that.
“Most Likely You Go Your Way And I’ll Go Mine” is a banger
I assure you, I am not “better than” believing this season would’ve long since stopped being meaningful absent the KAT trade. I fully believe it due to a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative data.
“I assure you, I am not “better than” believing this season would’ve long since stopped being meaningful absent the KAT trade. I fully believe it due to a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative data.”
You are talking out of your ass. Please stop.
Precious bites on head fakes more than any player I’ve ever seen
Maxey did a Brunson so 76ers lost
Hart singlehandedly keeping the Knicks in front, what a 3rd quarter by him.
if we were playing against josh hart, I would be wishing he were on our team…
Z-Man, how’s the scotch tonight?
I really had no idea it was controversial to say we’d be in much worse shape without an all-star starter and all-NBA 1st team candidate! TIL.
Was worried when KAT went to the bench but a great finish to the 3rd quarter by the Knicks.
Blonde on Blonde. Maybe his finest album. I might lean slightly to Bringing It All Back Home, but Blonde on Blonde is a real contender.
Who cares who I am anyway. But I cannot tell you how much I adore the Knicks extending the lead to ten points, closing the 3rd period, with the majestic lineup of McBride, Precious, Shamet, and who else?
Glorious.
“I really had no idea it was controversial to say we’d be in much worse shape without an all-star starter and all-NBA 1st team candidate! TIL.”
You mean like the guy we traded for him was just after you called him the most detrimental player in the NBA whose contract was destined to be an albatross?
“Z-Man, how’s the scotch tonight?”
None, sadly.
Shamet!
Mathurin getting the MJ whistle tonight.
why good sir, we know you well, you are the knight who says ni…
It’s a mystery wrapped inside an enigma. 😉
Cmon Precious
I don’t believe Randle ever got either of those accolades actually but regardless, trade seems to have been very beneficial for us
Precious trying to iso on Siakam went as well as expected.
philly probably should have asked paul george if he was about to become andrew wiggins
If Towns didn’t have a big game with Turner out I would have really started worrying. Now finish the job.
indy plays kind of dumb…thankfully…
Refs have really swallowed their whistles, eh…
Clyde with the triple word rhyme –
The stumbling bumbling crumbling Pacers
What does the mess in Philly do to Morey’s overrated reputation?
Embiid and George could both be walking dead and both are on huge long contracts.
It was pretty incredible how KAT was able to beat the shot clock buzzer with that layup.
“trade seems to have been very beneficial for us”
But that’s not what you said, is it? As a stickler for being quoted verbatim, you should know that. Here are your exact words:
“…without it our season would’ve been over weeks ago”
…which is a preposterous statement, and one for which there is no evidence….especially because it is unknowable how well either Julius or DDV would have played here, or whether either or both of them would have been packaged in a different trade, or whether the protected pick and another asset would have been used to pick up another good rotation player, possibly a decent defensive C.
Shamet!
I love when our fugly looking bench lineup plays oddly effectively
Thibs should leave Brunson out, we have a game tomorrow
Payne is no longer playing awful since Brunson’s 5th foul.
Someone tell Thibs we are on a B2B and a few of our players are nursing problems. Sociopaths need to be reminded as we get closer to the end.
some people on this site should write Josh letters of apology
Fugly but effective lineup back out there
Hart is making up for his performance vs. the Celts…
Yeah I mean I maintain that without KAT we’d have been out of the running to do anything interesting a while ago, likely prior to 2025.
There should be a report Hart might need knee surgery every day!
Hart is gonna break the NBA record for layups
I have to say this has been a very impressive performance by the Knicks especially with Brunson playing arguably his worst game of the season.
“Okay troll”
Shamet with a very good 2nd half and Thibs rewarding him with extra mins.
Wait, Jalen Brunson is back in with 4 minutes to go and the bench pulling away?
Like this:
http://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/43802463
!!!
(That has to be my favorite non-Knicks highlight of the year.)
I said KAT should get 40!
holy shit Jahlil Okafor
Jahlil Okafor?!?!
Audilble deuce in Indiana is nice to hear
nice win…indy stinks…
Knicks now have clinched tiebreaker vs both Indiana and Milwaukee, think its safe to assume Knicks won’t be dropping out of the 3rd seed.
Is Mario Hezonga gonna check in next?
We all feel what we feel about the Knicks but I might be feeling some things about the Pacers if I were a Pacers fan right about now
Been 4 years since Jahlil was in a game, I thought he had fully retired
tyrese haliburton has not been all that impressive this season…
The trade has definitely been great for us but I kind of agree that this is a rather wild statement. Even if you transferred Randle & Donte’s exact performances in Minnesota to New York (and there’s no reason to do that) we’d probably be like 5th in the East instead of 3rd.
No team with Jalen Brunson on it is going to be out of the running by Christmas.
And Early Bird made a great point the other day: if Julius Randle were playing Center in NY surrounded by Brunson, Donte, Bridges, and OG, he’d probably be having a pretty great offensive season.
I think the Pacers might just not be good at all, honestly.
It was still an excellent win for the Knicks, don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking the Knicks at all for this win, but more that I just don’t think the Pacers are that good.
“Yeah I mean I maintain that without KAT we’d have been out of the running to do anything interesting a while ago, likely prior to 2025.”
You can maintain anything you want to, so long as you understand that it is complete speculation, or even worse, it assumes negative things from all of Randle, DDV, and Leon. Frankly, it’s the kind of thing that E would say, but in reverse.
I mean being 35-18 instead of 28-24 is a pretty big difference (Bucks currently 5th in East with a 28-24 record).
🤣🤣🤣
Okafor just signed a 10 day contract.
We are better than the Pacers, but I don’t think Towns would have had such a great game if they had Turner. I’m just glad we got a good win on the road because tomorrow would have been hell if we lost. The Hawks tend to give us trouble. Hopefully we’ll be ready for them on a B2B.
Yeah but he pretty strongly stated we’d have been out of the running before Jan 1. That’s Philadelphia 76ers territory. I’m sorry but I can’t fathom a Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Deuce McBride team coached by Thibs being 20-33. That just seems impossible to me.
Bol Bol out there dominating for the suns…
“Even if you transferred Randle & Donte’s exact performances in Minnesota to New York (and there’s no reason to do that) we’d probably be like 5th in the East instead of 3rd.”
Sure, but why would you do that? Those two guys had great chemistry here, only to be blindsided by the trade. Randle came back at full health and has been adapting to a much different role, and DDV was banged up and got off to a bad start but was shooting much better before he got hurt again.
The most dubious assumption here is that Leon wouldn’t have found some sort of reasonable replacement for iHart.
Then you are running out a starting lineup of (pencil in C) Randle, OG, Mikal, and Brunson, with Hart, DDV, Deuce and Precious off the bench. I don’t see how that team would be “out of the running to do anything interesting,” and that’s without even considering the return or Mitch.
It’s a take that reeks of personal bias, again, the kind we are used to getting on a regular basis from E.
I find that to be reasonable, actually. There just weren’t many available. None of the other teams desperate for centers were able to get help. Look at the cost of Mark Williams before the trade was rescinded. We didn’t have that kind of ammo.
Doesn’t necessarily feel like it but Knicks have won 8 of their last 10 games.
“I find that to be reasonable, actually. None of the other teams desperate for centers were able to get help. Look at the cost of Mark Williams before the trade was rescinded. We didn’t have that kind of ammo.”
In January, Nick Richards and a second was traded for Josh Okogie and two seconds.
Meanwhile the Lakers were not expecting to be trading for a C until the Gift from Heaven fell into their laps at the 11th hour. Totally different situation than Leon was in before the season started. They tried to pull a Mikal Bridges-style overpay at the last minute but it didn’t work.
If you told me Okafor was back in the league, I’d ask how old Emeka was
I saw Okafor play in Westchester on New Year’s Day (when Kolek pulled double-duty.) He looked pretty good, and seemed to be in great shape. Maybe he can find some kind of a role as a third C or a backup on a good team.
I mean, in the first place, I don’t remember the KAT being at all controversial in terms of the price that was paid, which was clearly a bargain that no one anticipated would be available. I said at the time (and continue to feel) that KAT is not really my kind of player, largely (but not entirely) because he is an absolutely terrible defensive player.
But before that trade was made, I was fully prepared to go into the season with Mitch (at the time he was projected to be back by December) and whoever Leon could trade for with our remaining assets, including our draft haul, our protected firsts, and our cache seconds. Maybe Deuce would have to be put into a deal, or even DDV, which would have sucked but definitely not a crippling blow. And I would have been shocked (and therefore don’t believe for a second) that the season was destined to be over by January 1 without terrible injury luck. Maybe we’d be less of a “contender” in theory, but being that we’re staring at a second-round match-up with the Celts, I don’t see the point in proclaiming that this team is light years ahead of where it would have been without that trade, at least for this season.
Now we are definitely better positioned for the future, as Randle was due for an extension, but that’s not what we’re discussing here.
But I tell you what, after we beat the Celts in the second round on the back of an all-NBA performance by KAT, I’ll be overjoyed to be in full agreement with this statement.
Bulls were down 42 at halftime tonight. I used to pray for times like these
Props to IQ on a very solid game, especially if he had a lot to do with holding ex-teammate Maxey to 5 points on 9 shots in 34 minutes.
I like what JK47 was watching more than the rest if y’all.
I curse Dave Gebroe’s stupid ass face for two things: 1) breaking up the discograffiti dream team, and 2) saying Before the Flood is better than the Last Waltz. But I have to acknowledge Gebroe got one thing right: BtF has a great version of You Go Your Way and I’ll Go Mine. It really does bang.
