Mitch Johnson deciding to let Brunson shoot is just hilarious. I love Mitch Johnson.

I’ve been lurking here from Italy since… forever (2011?). I was with you guys through the Isiah multi-faced debacles, vaseline-sniffing Stef, JeromeJames-Eddy Curry-broken down Joakim Noah, TDDWTDD, Jorts, Phil Jackson hired to do the only thing he can’t do in basketball, Mudiay and Frankie Smokes et cetera.
Every day in the last month I was on the verge of writing something, but I refrained, worried that I might jinx it all (Max and Farfa – shout out to them – know we’re pretty superstitious in Italy 🙂
And now this. The Tip. OG stoic face. Brunson’s clutchiness. Pollicino-Alvarado! Towns turning into a butterfly. Mike Brown outcoaching his rivals. Josh Hart doing it all (and being saved). Mitch gassed and bricking and still beloved. Landry hitting everything until he stopped. Mikal’s heroics (send’em more picks!). Method Man. The universe loving Brian Cronin. And the nagging fear that this couldn’t be real. And then Mitch’s Rebound. And Jalen fuckin’ Brunson!!! I just wanted to rejoice in person with you for once, my Knicks family at large. Thank you for everything.
Ps: I had the pleasure to watch Mo Ndour’s sweet-and-infamous midrange jumper take my Italian team to the playoffs finals and to second place in regular season (both all time team records) in the last couple of years, so now everything is vindicated. Send him his ring. 🙂

I gotta get me one of dem hats

Holy shit….

Ciao from Buonarotti!!

These commercials are freaking awesome.

I’m a fucking mess right now. Been waiting for this moment for my ENTIRE life. One of the greatest moments of my life right now.
4
Brunson is just so authentic. How can you not love the guy.
4
I’ve waited my whole life for this
It doesn’t feel real yet
Thank you all for waiting all these years with me
I love you guys
7
Mitch Johnson deciding to let Brunson shoot is just hilarious. I love Mitch Johnson.
Send him a ring, and Wemby too, since he said to Mitch “i’m in your head” it was all downhill from there… don’t play with karma!
2
Love you all!
This is so much more special that I’ve been able to share all of these years with you. What a fucking ride.

Tears Of Joy!
1
Clyde smiling was so great to see 🙂
1
I never thought I’d see this
2
I love what a mess Brunson was in that interview.
This team deserves it. And as the British announcer said “after years of Lou Amundson and Andrea Bargnani the Knicks fans richly deserve this.”
He can hang out here anytime, with some of the greatest people I will never meet in real life, the best people you could ever hope to spill digital ink with.
You guys are the best.
5
It was 2 months ago when I thought we were dead in the water and then everything fucking changed, starting with KAT playing team ball and Brunson letting him cook
1
I haven’t posted in months. Why? Every time I posted the Knicks lost so I stopped. This is my first post since then!
I’m in tears, sitting on my bed in a hotel in Verona Italy. I had to watch the entire finals in Italy, at 2:30 in the morning!
7
Tampering works
1
Knicks going 5 vs 8 every game and still pulled it out in 5!!
Unbelievable!!! Not even ‘The Extender” could stop this ship.
5
YEAH!!!!
1
Unfortunately Dolan is on the podium…
1
Okay I’ll take that Larry O’Brien now
1
This is so much more special that I’ve been able to share all of these years with you. What a fucking ride.

Everyone booed him!

Leon Rose can speak!

D’Aaron Fox co-MVP.
Fuck James Dolan.
Love you all.
3
Just want to say, I can’t imagine a better, smarter, funnier group of people to go on this long, painful, winding journey with. Love you all.

Leon Rose deserves 10 rings!

James Dolan almost fucking dropped the trophy omg lol

I can’t think straight, I’m shaking, I’m crying, I’m laughing, my head feels light.
After all these years there are a lot of things to say,
but it’s 5:45 AM and the wolves are howling here in the Dolomites, they’ll have to wait..
LOVE YOU GUYS, WE DID IT!
6
45 fucking points
2
Leon Rose, all the flowers
2
I am 38 year old man crying. I love this team. I love this city. I love my fellow fans
2
It’s hilarious how Ernie Johnson is SO choked up about this win. Like, why does HE give so much of a shit about it?
3
Welcome Knicksfaninmilan, and welcome back GoNYGoNYGo… i missed you man, but we’ve done it! 😉 🙂
1
I am halfway around the world in Mongolia, but didn’t feel alone at one of the best moments of my life because of you all… Thanks for the community. Thanks for the humor during the bad years. Thanks for the analytics and education. Thanks.
9
I think I’m in shock, like I’m going to wake up tomorrow and this will have been all a dream!!
2
Becky Hammond in tears.
2
NBA Cup MVP, East Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson!!!!!
4
The mezzanine feels so fucking good.
4
Thank you KB family for getting us through the dark days… THIS FUCKING TEAM!!!!
7
Fox and Mitch Johnson HAVE to be gone by next season after that spectacle.
0
All you guys are the best. Greatest sports community ever. They actually did it.
2
Coach went Wild!
2
When my dad died in 2012 I thought I would never have another outlet for my Knicks outbursts. This group was something special and now we have climbed the mountaintop together.
5
Mike brown is out there …
2
Congrats again to everyone! Such fun!
1
I love this blog, and I wouldn’t be as crazy about this team as I am without all of you. Much love.
3
New York Knicks are the first team in NBA history to win the Cup Championship and NBA Finals in same season.
1
Mike Brown.needs a Xanax more than JK
2
OG! OG!
1
I am 38 year old man crying. I love this team. I love this city. I love my fellow fans
Don’t worry, a 52 yo man is crying too! 😉
5
After the ECF last year and the Nesmith/Hailburton game, I don’t know if I’ve ever felt lower as a fan. It really felt like that was our best shot at that time. Having to get through that to get to this? Worth every painful second.
2
You can’t win a championship with a small PG
You can’t win a championship with a bad defender at C
You can’t win a championship without building through the draft
You can’t win a championship trading 5 picks for a role player
The Knicks can’t win a championship
7
Don’t worry, a 52 yo man is crying too! 😉
41 and I’ve been crying since Wemby threw up that last shot.
2
Thanks cyber!
OG doesn’t break character even at this moment! 🙂 Love it
2
This team is so goddamn special, it is genuinely inspiring how they never gave up and clawed their way to being champions refs be damned.
1
I am 38 year old man crying. I love this team. I love this city. I love my fellow fans
Don’t worry, a 52 yo man is crying too! 😉
This 68 year old is weeping like a baby.
2
I love Josh.
FUCK THEM PICKS
3
Josh Hart “forget them picks!”
2
Josh, “Forget them picks.” Hahaha
2
Lmao at Hart talking about the picks for Bridges.
2
Poor Donte though.
4
Never thought id see kat hoisting that trophy
1
I’ve been on this blog for over half my life. I spend more time complaining about the Knicks here than talking to my friends. This can’t be real.
4
MAX EXTENSIONS FOR EVERYBODY!!!
2
For how many minutes did we lead in this series. Like six? Hahaha.
2
35 and I’m in my car because I needed to get away from everyone to cry and read KBer
3
No longer in purgatory! Finally in Paradisio!! JB was our Beatrice! Let’s gooooo!!!
3
I’m here with my son and the two guys that I got season tickets with the day they drafted Ewing. I can’t express how fucking happy and relieved we are! Love to all KBers who have been loyal throughout!
5
Mitch should have gotten a shot at the mic as a longest tenured Knick but it’s ok…
Happy he had a couple critical plays at the end there
3
I’ve been waiting for this as a fan for over 35 years. And now it’s real. We did it!
I can’t even really comment bc I just am speechless and it doesn’t feel real. I’ll probably need a day before I can really write about what this means.
2
Clyde looks so happy
2
No longer in purgatory! Finally in Paradisio!! JB was our Beatrice! Let’s gooooo!!!
The view from the mezzanine has never been better
2
It’s time that Adam Silver hear from Knick fans that 5 on 8 basketball is not fair. There’s NO QUESTION in my mind that the NBA did everything they could to keep the Spurs in the series. There were at least 10 no-call flagrant fouls on the dirtiest player in the NBA.
1
Happy he had a couple critical plays at the end there
Mitch’s rebound was huge! Happy he didn’t have to shoot free throws at the end.
1
Cool ass squad.
1
The is team man. This might be my favorite team ever. Up there with the great Yankees teams.
3
When I was a kid I was in the Knicks kids fan club. I used to put out every poster, the little pennant, everything that came in the box for every game. I cried when they lost against Houston. Now I’m shaking 30+ years later. I can’t wait to rock the Champions Jacket I just ordered! Especially in Nashville. Lol
3
Been lurking for years and rarely post, but man I love you guys. What a year, what a team, what a group of online folks. Love this team, love you weirdos
3
I can’t believe Brunson did what he just did.
What a ridiculous, out of body performance. Against that defense, against the level of contact that was allowed. Insane. Historic.
4
I love all of you guys.
3
I’m here with my son and the two guys that I got season tickets with the day they drafted Ewing. I can’t express how fucking happy and relieved we are! Love to all KBers who have been loyal throughout!
Go party, my friend! We deserve this! 😉
2
What a slugfest. 36% from the field versus 38% from the field.
Getting to share this momentous achievement and the journey to it with the KB group has exponentially expanded the joy I have. I have learned so much about the game on here. Thanks to all. Much love to all, especially our overseas brothers who soldier on sleep deprived for the cause.
2
It was fitting Mitch secured this win with that rebound.
2
Very rarely post here but lurking since 2011. Fan since ‘89 out in Australia.
What a fucking fairytale run. We deserve every moment of this. Love to all of you. In shock, we fucking did itttttttt

Wow wow wow. So many heartbreaking and not good moments over the years. I’m 46. This just fills my heart. You all are awesome too. I love the blog. Been mostly a reader over the years and sometimes poster. But much love of it and you all.
3
I just wish this happened at the Garden. NY deserves this. The Knicks own New York!
1
( Huck will be able to tell his kids and grandkids that he rocked a + 3 in the championship game)
2
Happy he had a couple critical plays at the end there
It was poetic, Mitch deserved it, and i hope this gets his mental problems to go away. We did it, Mitch, celebrate it as much as you can! 🙂
1
I’m feeling extra satisfaction from beating this Spurs team and Wemby.
5
I’m going to watch the entire playoff run again during the summer. Glorious!
3
I guess the Hawks are the second-best team in the NBA.
4
Brunson is limping off the court.
Never thought I’d see this day as a fan. So much disappointment all these years. I can’t believe this. Congrats to everyone and all us Knicks fans
3
Want to thank all of you who contribute to this blog… got me through a lot of years of pretty miserable basketball. You all are the best. Congratulations to us!
4
I was thinking the same thing about Mitch — they should’ve had him speak up there
2
How bad does DeAaron Fox suck
Kat taking pics with Ewing…nice
2
So happy Patrick is there for this
3
I guess the Hawks are the second-best team in the NBA.
Brian, you’re THE MAN !! 😉
I guess the Hawks are the second-best team in the NBA.
well third because analytically the cavs just won the title
4
Wemby two weak games in a row. I’m shocked
1
How bad does DeAaron Fox suck
I just ADORE that Mitch Johnson kept going with him over and over and over and over and over again.
1
AAAAAHAHAHASSSSAGEMFGIGMCZAQ&$&!!!!
OUR BOYS DID IT!!!! THEY FUCKING DID IT!!!
3
AHAHAHHA I DONT WANT YOUR FUCKING WHACK ASS CONGRATULATORY PHONE CALLS YOU FUCKING TROLLS!!!!!!!!
4
The Oak and Sweeny close-out!
3
Mitch Johnson about JB “he’s a heck of a player, he deserves everything he’s got”
3
Letting Fox shoot long 2 after long 2 as the Knicks closed the gap was one of the most insane things I’ve seen a coach do.
3
Also F you Wemby
3
well third because analytically the cavs just won the title
LOLOL
Atkinson will be mad he doesn’t get the analytical ring !! 😀
6
How incredible is this! We close them out in 5..on the road for the chip while playing 5 on 8 ALL FUCKIN SERIES!
This will live forever as possibly the greatest single championship in NBA history considering the wait, the city, somehow underdog superstar, and the officiating.
I wanna make sure I’m gracious and appreciate the Spurs. Such a good fuckin team. I love the way they play defense and they have a truly transcendent player. Unfortunately for them, the coach and the roster just didn’t have enough experience. But they do now. I fully expect them to be back in the Finals next season.
But make no mistake- what our Knicks did is phenomenal. Down double digits in every game but won in 5 as the underdog. Beat 2 teams in one series. The Spurs and The Refs. A naysayer better not have a muthafuckin thing to say outside of “Congratulations, job well done” about this championship.
Knicks for-fuckin-EVER
Side Note:
I still don’t forgive Charles Smith lmao
2
“Had that been called a flagrant, Wemby would have had to sit game six.”
Chuck: “He can still sit game six.” Hahaha.
5
All the demons have been exorcised! Bargnani is forgiven! Ron Baker is forgiven! Howard Eisley is forgiven! WE CAN NEVER AGAIN COMPLAIN ABOUT INCINERATED PICKS!
I can’t fucking believe they did it. I saw the Yankees win the World Series in person in 96. I was at the Mr November game. I watched the giants take down the unbeatable Patriots (on tv). None of that holds a candle to how I feel about this.
5
They should still upgrade the Wemby foul and let him sit on opening night.
5
OUR BOYS DID IT!!!! THEY FUCKING DID IT!!!
CDiggy, don’t troll the trolls back, it’ll hurt even more. 😉
And enjoy this, man, it’s a f*ck*ng amazing feeling!
Letting Fox shoot long 2 after long 2 as the Knicks closed the gap was one of the most insane things I’ve seen a coach do.
It was truly astonishing. Just one of the most insane coaching jobs I’ve ever seen.
I just wish someone recorded what was said in the locker room after game three of the first round.
Can’t wait for the doc about this season.
2
To be fair, Castle gave them nothing tonight.
Do you think now we will hang the cup banner too?
2
To be fair, Castle gave them nothing tonight.
True, part of the problem with Fox was that his teammates were all choking, and he at least had the confidence to keep chucking like a moron.
2
Katz: “ The most KAT thing of all time — he was holding up the walkway off the court because he wanted to share the trophy with Knicks fans, so he stopped and leaned into the stands to let a bunch of them touch it. They reacted like it was the best moment of their lives.”
“Had that been called a flagrant, Wemby would have had to sit game six.”
Chuck: “He can still sit game six.” Hahaha.
LOL
How weird must it have been for Clyde to do the voiceovers for that commercial?
1
Can we give a collective shout out to our Knicks physio staff. A season of game balls for each of them.
5
It was truly astonishing. Just one of the most insane coaching jobs I’ve ever seen.
And then with 5 minutes left in their elimination game, he took Wemby off the floor for Kornet!
Unbelievable. Congratulations folks. Didn’t think this would happen in my lifetime
5
Letting Fox shoot long 2 after long 2 as the Knicks closed the gap was one of the most insane things I’ve seen a coach do.
Over multiple games! I can’t believe Pop is watching this.
Yal! We..we fuckin champions!
I’m scared to go to sleep tonight because, what if I wake up and this was just a dream??
What’s really crazy is how absolutely unworried I was for almost the entire series. We were down 10 in the 4th and there was so little stress. Part of why it feels so unreal
4
Letting Fox shoot long 2 after long 2 as the Knicks closed the gap was one of the most insane things I’ve seen a coach do.
There I started thinking, These morons, we might really win this, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
I can’t still wrap my head around the sequence “non-flagrant on Wemby stepping under JB ankle / no foul called when Mikal got hit in the face”. Winning with this refereeing is truly a sight to behold :)))
1
Never thought anybody would replace Ewing as my favorite Knick ever but officially Brunson is not only my favorite Knick ever but might be my 2nd favorite athlete ever after Jeter.
1
What’s really crazy is how absolutely unworried I was for almost the entire series. We were down 10 in the 4th and there was so little stress. Part of why it feels so unreal
That’s been me since Hawks Game 5!
1
Is Wemby at the presser still saying how he’s sure they’ll win
3
It won’t be remembered as such because we won in 5, but this has been one of the best NBA Finals.
3
Love you all. Thanks for talking me through the past 12 or so years.
4
It won’t be remembered as such because we won in 5, but this has been one of the best NBA Finals.
Yeah, that’s what I was saying the other day, that I am THRILLED that they won, but it DOES hurt a LITTLE bit that the greatness of this Finals won’t be duly appreciated.
1
How much coke do you think Chalamet consumed through this playoff run?
3
Is Wemby at the presser still saying how he’s sure they’ll win
LOL
Never thought anybody would replace Ewing as my favorite Knick ever but officially Brunson is not only my favorite Knick ever but might be my 2nd favorite athlete ever after Jeter.
I feel the same, minus the Jeter thing. Brunson is my new GKOAT…really need to workshop a better acronym for that.
3
Ernie Johnson just said the Knicks lead for all of 56 or so minutes during this series. IN-FRICKIN-CREDIBLE
2
All lurkers and members that hadn’t been commenting recently, getting back is a joy to see! Keep that coming, please! 🙂
2
Yes, as a Knick fan I am happy. But I am really happy for all of you guys. You’re a great bunch of fans, and you deserve a team that reflects your level of fandom.
5
Parade on thursday! 🧡💙🏀🏆🥳🎉
Jalen, man, take off those damn Michelob glasses. Hahaha.
AND FU BECKY HAMMON!
1
Rick Brunson unsolicited saying that Patrick Ewing was a better Knick than Jalen is BIZARRE.
2
Rick is just messing with Jalen.
2
Band of bloggers. I love you guys.
4
Rick Brunson unsolicited saying that Patrick Ewing was a better Knick than Jalen is BIZARRE.
I agree. I’m choosing to believe it’s an innate humbleness in both of them unless I learn otherwise, rather than thinking it was a shitty thing for a father to say of his son.
The whole “the Spurs will be back” thing could be true, but they could also be the 1995 Magic (and I think I’d like that).
Thursday is my son’s first day after school ends. We are definitely going to the parade.
1
Begley: “What do you say to the criticism you were getting?”
Mikal: “I say… F*CK THEM PICKS”
LOLOL
3
It’ll be very interesting to learn whether or not this championship will allow me to enjoy next season without much stress or anxiety over the team. Like, we got one, and more would be more better, but will one be enough to not let losses bother me anymore? I sure hope so.
Flags Fly Forever
3
Like, we got one, and more would be more better, but will one be enough to not let losses bother me anymore? I sure hope so.
We need the losses to bother us to get another one, so let’s go through it. 😉
It was truly astonishing. Just one of the most insane coaching jobs I’ve ever seen.
Absolutely crazy! I was so happy he was in the game.
1
Mike Brown: “He [JB] is a 1A !!!” 🧡💙
We need the losses to bother us to get another one, so let’s go through it. 😉
You know, you’re right. Greed is good! Let’s be the first team to repeat in 9 years!
3
I can’t fucking believe it we won
2
Mitch at the press conference !!
1
45 points on 27 FGA in a closeout game for Cap.
Monstrous
5
I just emerged from the Wyoming wilderness to see that Mookie Betts spoiled Yamamoto’s perfect game by committing a routine error with 2 outs in the 9th inning, ugh.
Anything else happen I should know about?
2
Begley: “What do you say to the criticism you were getting?”
Mikal: “I say… F*CK THEM PICKS”

How about the greatest irony of all? The final scoring play of the Knicks title game was Mikal Bridges free throws
4
Somehow a storm is falling on me now to prevent me to go celebrate at the city hall… and for me to know if there’s more diehard Knicks fans in Porto!
They should hang both banners.
2
45 points on 27 FGA in a closeout game for Cap.

The man picked a helluva time to have his best game of the series.

I guess it’s pretty cool when your PG doesn’t tear his achilles in the closeout game. Never thought I’d be jealous of Knick Fans:)
1
JB with a GOAT playoffs performance. Just unreal. What a lovable team.
1
Jalen essentially put up Steph Curry’s first finals MVP numbers. Just stop and think about that.
2
Jalen Brunson: Defeat comes for us all, Victor, but something much worse comes for you. For when you lose, it will be …
[Wembayama tries to step on Brunson’s foot; Brunson sidesteps it, drains a three-pointer in his face]
Jalen Brunson: …Without honor.
1
Oh and the team with the best postseason point differential EVER?: your 2025-6 New York Knicks.
5
.
Enough to overcome the disappointment of winning behind selfish play from Brunson? 😉
We prolly win by 30 if Brunson’s ego and “hero ball” doesn’t get in the way. 😉
2
So weird to not be 2-4 weeks deep into draft talk as Knick fans typically are this time of year.
This still doesn’t seem real. May take me a day or two to fully process that the New York Knicks are actually the NBA champs.
2
52 years old. Never saw a miracle. Just did.
52 years old: Crying my eyes out. Don’t care.
5
It’s past dawn in Milan. It’s okay to go to sleep now, right? We’re still champs when I wake up, right? RIGHT?! Hugs to all.
PS : not for nothing, OG’s D on (unstoppable) Harper’s missed layup at the end was a thing of beauty. That is all.
1
I love you guys and this blog and Jalen Brunson.
1
No sportsmanship from San Antonio to the end–not one of them congratulated the Knicks.
Ingracious, arrogant, and entitled. Its a bad combination for a young team moving forward.
2
The beauty of this championship is that we will be able to watch Knicks games for the rest of our lives like semi-normal people.
3
Such a great run. Fifteen of 16.
I am both glad it’s over and sad it’s over.
I doubt we will see the like again.
What will I do every other night?

Leon is a legend now, right? The greatest to do it? He had a bigger task than any GM in NY sports history and accomplished his mission dealing with one of the most meddling/self-sabotaging owners ever, in a star league where no “stars” wanted to join this team, and all of the media/fandom breathing down his neck/double-guessing him.
1
Been 99.9999% a lurker since, I dunno, 2010? 2011? Love this board. Love you guys. Let’s go Knicks!
5
Performing under immense pressure internally and from the fan base, Brown weathered several tough stretches in the regular season en route to 53 wins.
But one of his most important moves took place off the court.
Before the postseason, Brown met individually with each Knicks starter to discuss any lingering issues they may have. Once he gathered all of that information, he called the entire starting five into a meeting to air their grievances. Everything was put on the table, a rare move in a league where most issues are addressed through passive-aggressive comments or social media posts.
The results of the meeting are hard to ignore.
After hovering around a +1.5 net rating during the regular season, the Knicks starters turned in a playoff net rating of +11.4 entering Saturday’s Game 5.
Assistant coach Rick Brunson told me that Brown’s meetings with the starters were pivotal to New York’s playoff success.
This is really a multiple generations effort to build our MVP. Rick probably knew exactly how to coach Jalen from childhood because they have a similar body type, and he understood their strengths because of his own experience.
Same probably happened with the Harpers, but who cares about them.
2
For the former Knicks that got close but couldn’t win it.
Ewing/Starks Knicks
Sprewell/Houston Knicks
Melo/Stoudemire Knicks
So glad they went to the games and get to celebrate with the team.
For the fans.
Those that endured years of incompetence and finally their patience is rewarded.
Even the new fans who are riding the wave of this sensational run. All are welcome.
What a team. What a fanbase. 2026 NBA Champions!!!
4
Well said. I love that the past Knicks were around a lot and could celebrate this. Starks and Ewing were my 2 favorites. I feel good for them. They got so close so many times.
2
The last time one of my teams won a world championship, I was 14 years old in my living room watching Jesse Orosco strike out Marty Barrett then flinging his glove into the air.
3
How about the greatest irony of all? The final scoring play of the Knicks title game was Mikal Bridges free throws
It was OG’s free throw with 7.7 seconds to go. OG also got the final rebound and had the ball in his hands to end the game.
Make the night even better Tampa lost so the Yankees are alone in 1st place along with the best record in the AL…
What’s really crazy is how absolutely unworried I was for almost the entire series. We were down 10 in the 4th and there was so little stress. Part of why it feels so unreal
I felt and feel the same way. Fan since 93 and this is the first team where it wasn’t if but how
2
Look at how many people have flooded the streets to sing the song!
Not an original thought, but he’s the Joe Torre to Thibs’ Buck Showalter. Will he have the sustained success Torre did with the Yankees? Almost certainly not. But he was the perfect guy in the perfect moment.
2
Yep…had the midas touch when it counted…the anti Aaron boone
One big problem with Wemby’s game is that you can’t really just give him the ball and say “go get us a bucket.” He gets putbacks and dunks and blocks and impacts the game in all sorts of ways, but we had the guy who could just go get you a bucket and they didn’t.

Today is a beautiful day in Verona! The sun is shining onto Juliet’s balcony, the arena is quiet after opening weekend of opera, the pigeons in Piazza Bra never looked prettier. And when the waiter came over to my table with my marmalade croissant and dupio espresso and asked where I’m from, I pointed to the Knicks logo on the sweatshirt I’ve worn for every playoff game. And he said, “They won? I saw them come back from down 30 points. How long has it been? 20 years?” I said “53. I was 15.”
On Wemby. Wemby ends his presser
He’s amongst the dirtiest players I’ve ever seen and he’s such a bad person. He had a family with 2 young boys kicked out of a hotel for saying “Good luck” to him.
His new Knickname is “The Biggest Dick”.
2
Mitch Johnson did say after the game that they weren’t ready to win the title and the better team won.
1
Low-key new favorite play at the end of the game.
8 seconds left, Dylan Harper bricks two free throws. It’s still a three point game, so if the Spurs get the rebound on the second miss, they could still try to tie the game.
On the second missed free throw, OG Anunoby easily corrals the rebound though, largely because Ariel Hukporti boxed the fuck out of Wemby on the rebound attempt. He just uses his superior strength to shove Wemby aside.
It’s striking how Wemby managed to vanish in the last five minutes of this game. He really did not make much of an impact.
1
So does Wemby still get a 1 game suspension if the landing area foul is correctly upgraded to a flagrant?
Three year old waking up at 5:40 the morning after the Knicks win a championship, when mom is about to start a 24 hour shift, is extremely not ideal. But if Captain can score 45 points in the close out, I can handle this hangover. Probably.

Just got home from the city. Watched the game with all my childhood friends in Long Island. At my buddies place. And then I went to the city with my son. We Ubered in and eventually made our way to Madison Square Garden and seventh Avenue. It felt like a pilgrimage. We high fived so many people. And then we rode the subway back home to Queens. Where it all began. Where I grew up. Where I became a fan. Where I played ball. And where I’ve lived my 51 years of my life mostly. I’d left the city for the military. I left the city for medical school. My wife left the city for the military. But the city always calls us back. This is where my heart lives. And my heart is always with the Knicks. Today I’m speechless. And I feel such a sense of contentment. And happiness. That it is hard to describe. That all of you on this blog can understand without me describing.
7
By the way. Thank you. To all of you. For getting me through the dark days. This blog has been a godsend. Maybe even saved my life a few times. This has been a daily ritual of mine. And some of the regular posters of which I am not one. They’re like a comforting blanket to me. God bless you all.

I moved this thread above the robot thread, and closed the comments on the robot thread.
Just don’t feel right celebrating in a robot thread. 😀

Got about three hours of sleep. Woke up and have been scrolling fan reaction videos for the last hour. Don’t feel the least bit tired.
THE KNICKS ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS, BABY!
5
Ok but who do we like in the draft
I un-ironically have started thinking about this.
2
Calling it now: This Knicks team will win a second title.
Addendum: They will do it before Wemby wins one.
Wemby:
1. Went straight to the locker room without bothering to congratulate any Knicks.
2. In the presser said that there’s a lesson in this loss, but he’s not sure yet what it is.
3. Left the presser saying, “See ya… never.”
Between his petulance/arrogance and the dirty play that EVERY fan could see, the hit these Finals must have put on his image…
4
It is a testament to Jalen Brunson that he remained a team-first guy even while scoring 45 of the Knicks’ 94 points.
He did it because it was necessary.
The Knicks had the best player.
The Knicks had the best leader.
That’s why Jalen Brunson is the MVP.
3
Never thought anybody would replace Ewing as my favorite Knick ever but officially Brunson is not only my favorite Knick ever but might be my 2nd favorite athlete ever after Jeter.
My Mount Rushmore is (loaded with recency bias):
1. Brunson
2. Eli
3. Jeter
4. Mariano
Honorable mention: Bernie Williams, Patrick Ewing, Lawrence Taylor, Mark Messier, Brian Leetch.

I should be on a plane to New York right now to celebrate this win with friends and family in the city. Instead, I’m currently on a red-eye flight to SF to participate in an NEH workshop for a couple of weeks. Hopefully there will be some Knicks fans in attendance so we can celebrate together!
But really: what a team. And I feel like we can play to this level again next year, especially if we tinker around the edges. It’s a good time to be a Knicks fan!
3
I am so grateful to this community for the mutual aid through the lean years.
I had to come back for the playoff run.
I hope I have added to the enjoyment of others.
I know I have received far more than I have given.
WORLD CHAMPION NEW YORK KNICKS!
4
I am halfway around the world in Mongolia, but didn’t feel alone at one of the best moments of my life because of you all… Thanks for the community. Thanks for the humor during the bad years. Thanks for the analytics and education. Thanks for all the weirdness and hot takes and petty arguments that wouldn’t die. It’s a beautiful mosaic that made my life richer and made this experience unforgettable.
3
Brunson going to Mitch Johnson as soon as the game ended was a classy move.

The Currently Very Bearable But Always Uncertain Knicksiness of Beingsays:

Okay so I’m not the only one here that hasn’t gone to sleep yet. 😉
Wanted to post on the game thread but the cell signal at the hotel bar got wonky.
Cyber: the trolls know they have six years worth of clapback energy coming. I may have told this story before: While we were away from campus during Covid, we would meet via Zoom once a week to just check in on things. For each 45 minute session, at least 15 minutes of it was spent on them going all #lolKnicks. That was every week for over a year. And then it carried over once we got the green light to return to campus.
Of course, I could just simply sit back and bc they realize they can’t say shit to me anymore. Buuuuuut what’s the fun in that? 😂
1
I just woke up and we’re still fucking NBA champions! What a fucking magical run!
2
Between his petulance/arrogance and the dirty play that EVERY fan could see, the hit these Finals must have put on his image…
Most importantly, every fan clearly saw he’s not that good.
He may be best defensive player of our lifetimes, but his offensive game is weak. He tires out easily. And he choked at the line.
Can you imagine if LeBron had a series like this when he was young?
They can’t take it away, right? There’s no press conference coming up with Scott Foster reviewing the last two minutes and saying we need to play OT, right? Is this Imposter Syndrome?
Damn Alan. Wemby really is a big lil b*tch.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had true vitriol for an opposing player. I know he’s only 22, but his goofy ass can land right the fuck on that list.
Dead-ass.

Best blog ever. MVB.

Okay i need to catch some sleep so i can be partially functional tmrw. I’ll catch up with you beautiful folks on the flipside.
Our boys are World Champions. I can’t believe i got to see it.
1
The mythmakers are going to insist in coming years that “Everyone loves Wemby,” but he’s a mega douchebag.
2
Watched the fourth quarter this morning with my wife and young kids and some tears were shed. What Brunson did is hard to believe. My wife said at the start, “he has 30 points? That’s so many of the Knicks’ points.” I replied, “just wait.”
I predict Wemby will learn, over time, to spew friendly sound bites, if only to make more money
It’s the best day to be a Knicks fan in my entire life!
A few post morten thoughts.
For all the season long kvetching about Brunson ISO ball and for all the beautiful team basketball we saw in the playoffs. It was Brunson iso ball the dragged us across the finish line yesterday.
Sometimes when I one on your team’s got it, when the opposing team’s defense se is so good and gunning everything up, you just gotta give the ball to your best player and let him go to work. We’ve got one of those dudes and man are we so incredibly
Lucky to have him. Brunson is a hall of famer. Full stop. One of the best scorers in the history of the league.
That being said. The team did win this title. Every game in this series was somome stepping up. Brunson struggled the first three games of this series.
Game One KAT and Hart. Game two KAT and Mikal. Game Four OG. Game Five Brunson.
Also though lowkey shout out to Josh hart last night. He made his open threes when we needed them the most as well as grabbing like 11 boards.
Mitch. Please stay here! You can out your truck in the parade! We love you buddy!
Run this shit back. Make our picks and continue to develop huk and Kolek and hopefully Diawara. But bring everyone back. The east will be open again next year. I imagine Detroit will learn from their disappointing run and will try to address their needs. But I don’t see any of the other teams being able to really make a leap ahead of us. Indy will be back with Hali but the east is ours and if we can get to the finals again, we can beat anyone in a series. Let’s go back to back!
1
continue to develop huk
Huk low-key had a solid shift last night.
Pitchforks are out for Mitch Johnson on the Spurs blogs.

petulance/arrogance and the dirty play that EVERY fan could see
Noted the other day that these blemishes appear way out of line with the league’s push to market him as the next Face of the NBA.
Yes, he’s still just a kid and has time to grow out of this. But right now he’s basically a rich man’s Porzingis who may not even be the best player on his own team. He’s gotta get stronger; improve his conditioning to where he’s not sucking wind in crunch time; and work on keeping his emotions in check before John Q. Basketball Public fully accepts him as LeBron’s legitimate heir apparent.
Yeah I’ve been reading their blog a bit this morning. Some of that is probably just the emotions of losing but a lot of them seem unable to accept that our experience mattered and they lost because of their youth.
They do have a problem with Fox, though. But even he doesn’t have a ton of playoff experience. Just last year our veteran team choked against the pacers. Maybe they should just let that team grow and learn.
I do think Wemby not being a closer type of player hurts them. And also at his size, he has the KP issue where he gets gassed at the end. Plus he can still get pushed around. But also you don’t necessarily want someone that tall putting on too much weight bc then you risk injuries.
But Harper and Castle are so young. Basel is still pretty young too. They have time to figure it out. If we do end up facing them again next year it won’t be a 5 game series.
9 days til the draft, fellas
gonna light all three picks on fire, and we are going to cheer him on as he does it.
I’ve been sitting on an idea for a while…
The city was too crazy to organize a watch party together, but I think it would be fitting (poetic, even) to have a KB championship celebration/meetup on draft night.
4
Can we replace the morning news threads for the Knicks are champions threads for the foreseeable future?
3
Can’t imagine ever getting bored of this. Was scrolling through fan sites of the Pistons, Cavs, Hawks, and 76ers; the Piston fans are delusional, but the rest recognized the historic greatness of this team and this run. So very satisfying
2
I think if any Knick coach had lost four playoff games in such dramatic fashion, he would be gone. Thibs did better than Mitch Johnson, and he was gone.
I don’t really follow Spurs, but reading gossip about Pop needing to draw up plays during the season, and complaints that Mitch, while being a good “culture guy” has/had zero head coaching experience and basically “no clue” how to make adjustments or manage a game. I think we all witnessed that.
Thunder reddit is almost as fun as KB this morning.
Run this shit back. Make our picks and continue to develop huk and Kolek and hopefully Diawara. But bring everyone back.
As I’ve said, I’m not sure it will be legally possible to keep Mo if we’re going over the second apron to bring back Mitch and Landry. But you one million percent run it the fuck back. If they get humbled in next year’s playoffs, then you start considering what to do with all these big contracts. But these guys are all in their primes (Josh is at the tail end of his, but isn’t close to slowing down yet), they all seem to love each other, and collectively they have unlocked something amazing. We didn’t see as much of The Beautiful Game in this series as we did in our demolition of the east, because Wemby and Castle made things so much harder for us. But even with that, we were able to beat them again and again.
These guys have earned the chance to stick together. And we’ve earned the opportunity to watch them do it. Long-term consequences be damned. This is the best time to be a Knicks fan literally since I’ve been alive. Whatever comes a few years from now should not even be a thought in anyone’s mind. This is the moment. This is the time.
Fuck.
Dem.
Picks.
1
Anyone remember the David Wells for Roger Clemens trade? It’s the only exception I can think of to “run it back.” In NY sport anyway.
…
I think draft strategy changes. If they’d lost, I’d let Mitch go and replace him in the draft. Now I think you just try to add someone who can crack the rotation at almost any position. Or a project.
The city was too crazy to organize a watch party together, but I think it would be fitting (poetic, even) to have a KB championship celebration/meetup on draft night.
Count me in.
Which Knick/s guest on SNL first? Prediction: Standing O — 😉
Was weird hearing Leon interviewed (briefly) during the postgame celebration. Realized I had never heard him speak before.
With that near invisible public profile, he’s a hard man to read. Have no idea how he’s gonna move forward this offseason but my sense is he’s not a real sentimental guy. I can easily see him moving on from Mitch if a cromulent, cost controlled replacement can be had in the back end of the first or top of the second. Ditto for Landry, whose quiet showing in the final round made him seem somewhat less indispensable.
not to get too deep in the weeds when everyone’s hung over and not in the mood to nerd out on analytics, but quantitatively speaking there were a lot of signs that mitch was going rip that orb away from wemby
Can’t imagine ever getting bored of this. Was scrolling through fan sites of the Pistons, Cavs, Hawks, and 76ers; the Piston fans are delusional, but the rest recognized the historic greatness of this team and this run.
lol do pistons fans really think they would have beaten us because of those regular season games?

Adam Silver must be overjoyed that 3 of the final 4 teams in his oft-mocked Emirates Cup also wound up in the Conference finals and that the endings of the two tournaments produced the exact same result.
“In total, Brunson scored 48% of New York’s points in Game 5, which is the second-highest ratio for any player in a closeout game in Finals history, according to ESPN Research — behind only Michael Jordan’s legendary performance in the “Last Dance” 1998 Finals.”
Fuck Becky hammons
3
Um (as an out of towner atm) I just read today is the Puerto Rican Day Parade in NYC. Might be crayyyyyzeeee.
Brunson picked a great day for a great performance. I don’t know how he did it. The Spurs defense was super elite at times between the perimeter and Wemby in the middle. At times no one could get open, when they did they were hesitant to shoot and when they shot they missed. Even OG didn’t have it going on offense (great on defense). The Nova boys carried us to victory with Brunson leading the charge!
3
No words…Thank you Knickerbloggers for all the years, all the nights and days, long time comin’, and all the Dads out there (like mine) who make this moment that much greater!!! We fuckin’ did it!!!
3
DRed did you disappear because Leon makes your drive to become GM less likely? Send us a sign of life.
2
When we get to the first offseason thread I have some ideas about how to get Donte back.

Good morning Knickerbloggers!
Am I the only one here who feels like a 100 tons weight has been lifted off his back?
Adrenaline finally lowered and I took a 2 hours nap around 11 AM, meanwhile my cellphone exploded because all my NBA loving italian friends (none of whom are Knicks fans) sent me congrats messages 🙂
For reasons not worth discussing here and now, I didn’t post much this year (like in “not at all”) at least until the Finals, so to make up for the lost time I’m gonna fill up your threads in the next few days 😉
But first I just want to send to all of you my Knickerbloggers Brothers around the world an heartfelt THANK YOU.
Thank you to the regular posters, the part timers, the lurkers, the passers by, to our fallen friends who I’m sure are watching all of this from a better place.
Thank you for all the things you shared and taught me over the years.
All the music, the TV, the movies, the recipes, the deep thoughts, the laughs, the basketball, the LIFE…
GRAZIE AMICI

DRed did you disappear because Leon makes your drive to become GM less likely? Send us a sign of life.
I’ve actually been legitimately concerned about DRed’s absence. He never said a lot but he never said nothing, either. Please do confirm you’re alive.
2
Wemby’s playoff TS% when all was said and done, was a mere .606. He has too limited an offensive game to ever be The Face of The League (TM).
3. Left the presser saying, “See ya… never.”
I just watched this, and I hate to defend the guy but I’m pretty sure what he meant was I never want to see you in this position, as the loser. He also preceded it by sincerely thanking the media.
He seemed sufficiently humbled to me.
I think it’s OK to put the NBA Cup banner up now also!
Given the format, we may be the only team to win both for quite awhile.
Absolutely have to run it back. Don’t know how difficult it will be to re-sign Mitch and Shamet but do whatever it takes.
1
I do think Wemby not being a closer type of player hurts them. And also at his size, he has the KP issue where he gets gassed at the end. Plus he can still get pushed around
I think Harper will ultimately be the guy you can give the ball to and say “get me a basket” and Wemby will still score his 30. They have a great future but there are going to be some epic wars between them and OKC for quite awhile if OKC can add a piece with all those picks and is willing to keep that team together financially.
Also: loser shit from the Spurs not congratulating the Knicks.
Hope you never get back here.
2
The one thing, no matter what I’ve always said, I want to be a winner. I want to win a championship at the highest level,” Hart said. “I’ve been doubted so many times — traded, had so much instability, had, what, seven, eight different head coaches. I found a home in New York, and they embraced me for the person that I am, the player that I am.
“I’m not perfect by any means. I make a lot of mistakes. But I try to put my heart out there. I try to do whatever I can do to help the team win. I don’t care about points. I don’t care about those things. I’m willing to sacrifice whatever it takes for this city, for this jersey, for this franchise.”
4
He seemed sufficiently humbled to me.
I thought he was good throughout the presser. Also his English is great but he still answered in fuller detail, and emotion in French. Vessel also seemed like a genuine, smart and articulate man.
With better shooting they’ll become a terrifying team.
1
Um (as an out of towner atm) I just read today is the Puerto Rican Day Parade in NYC. Might be crayyyyyzeeee.
Holy shit, Jose’s gonna have a day
I just watched this, and I hate to defend the guy but I’m pretty sure what he meant was I never want to see you in this position, as the loser. He also preceded it by sincerely thanking the media.
Fair enough. I literally only saw the clip of his exit.
Games 3, 4, and 5 were probably rigged and the Knicks still managed to take two out of three. Unstoppable force.
3
The NBA cut the “see ya… never” from the official clip. Stupid fakers.
1
Just for the record, I think this team could be a little better next year.
We can build on the Towns transformation on both sides.
Kolek is likely to take another step forward.
There’s at least some chance we could see a Diawara breakout.
Sochan is still very young and does some good things. He just needs to improve his shot.
We may add a useful pick in the off season.
Even guys like Hukporti, McCullar and Dadiet are all young enough to improve and play bigger roles when there are injuries or guys need a rest.
1
Do you guys think Thibs passed out seeing the Knicks defense yesterday? Holy shit were they good.
Also: I’m still mad at the non-flagrant. What bullshit.
good things come to those that wait
thankfully there is nothing in there sayin’ you gotta wait patiently…
I’m still mad at the non-flagrant. What bullshit.
Won’t that get an automatic review and some kind of validation regardless, or it is only the last few minutes of games?
Knickerblogger Hudson Valley Championship Meet-up…..Katonah, Mahopac, Armonk, somewhere else? Any ideas?
1
My best friend sent me this last night. They apparently used to play it at MSG in the 80s.
They should totally play that during the parade, along with Go New York Go and that bullshit cartoon music the San Antonio arena played for our introductions.
2
In hindsight, I think the Knicks played to like 70% percent of their potential offensively and still only lost only one game in the finals. They basically had no bench scoring! Deuce was a shell of himself, Shamet’s magic disappeared. What a team.
Random thoughts Knicks Edition:
– The refereeing in the Finals has been at Tim Donaghy Scandal level, Wemby’s non-flagrant followed by the uncalled poke in Mikal’s eye were so mind boggling there should be an investigation.
We basically won four games of 5-against-8 and we barely lost a fifth.
Our guys were heroes to do that.
And Adam Silver should be ashamed.
– It was a team effort all year long.
Every player helped with his brick, big or small, to build this dream season, but Jalen Brunson, Captain Clutch, flies in another stratosphere (despite his ego and sometimes annoying hero-ball 😉 ).
Please come telling me again that the clutch gene doesn’t exist 😀
– A thought for Patrick Ewing now that JB climbed over him in the Greatest Knicks Ever Pantheon.
You’re a great player Pat.
When you were in your prime they were never able to give you a Robin to help you climb to the top and then injuries (and undeserved suspensions…) hit at the wrong time.
I love Starks, I love Oak and all the 90’s guys, but give to peak Ewing an equivalent of what KAT is to JB and this drought would have been over earlier.
– Leon Rose, thank you.
– James Dolan and his friends are a thorn in my side and I’ll never thank him for anything.
Fuck James Dolan.
– I get the analogy between Brown/Thibs and Torre/Showalter but, while I think there’s a non zero chance that Buck would have won a ring if given the chance for another couple of years, I think we would have never hit the jackpot with Thibs.
At the same time I think Thibs deserves a lot of credit for this, he built the cultural foundations and put us back on the map, so kudos and respect to him.
– Same topic, different side of the coin, Brown did exactly what “we” (or at least “I”) Thibs’ critics asked forever:
less emphasis on the regular season, rest your main guys when possibile, play the bench more so they’re ready when it matters, more KAT as a creator in the high post, play faster, a sprinkle of zone defense here and there and so on.
Brown did all of them.
Small things, but the devil is in the details.
– It would be nice to run the whole crew back, but alas it is a difficult task, we were already scratching the ceiling of the second apron and with the yearly raises of the running contracts we should be over, unless every player takes the JB route and re-sign/restructure for less money.
Anyway we have great capologists in charge, so who knows?
1
Someone mentioned SNL earlier, and I’ll tell you what I want to see — no, what I need to see…
Kate McKinnon doing Miss Colleen Rafferty as a long time Knicks fans on a panel with two recent bandwagon Knicks fans comparing their respective experiences!
Anyone here with industry contacts, please help make this happen!!
In hindsight, I think the Knicks played to like 70% percent of their potential offensively and still only lost only one game in the finals. They basically had no bench scoring! Deuce was a shell of himself, Shamet’s magic disappeared. What a team.
What I took out of this series was that all the shit we talk about means nothing in the end. When you get to this point and play a defense like that, people get disappeared, and hero ball is all you got. We always hear folks say playoff basketball and regular season basketball are like two different sports. What I saw first hand is that NBA finals basketball is a different sport than playoffs basketball, too.
Deuce is a fine player. He was unplayable in this series. So was Mitch most of the time. Hell even KAT had maybe 5 effective minutes after the 3Q of game 2.
This was attrition. We couldn’t expect many of these guys to have a good game. You just wanted them to have a good shift.
That’s why I was so adamant about Brunson being MVP before he made it academic. OG had a great case for #2. We wouldn’t have won this series without OG. But we wouldn’t have been competitive in this series without Brunson. What he did, he did against Castle and Wemby (and refs!). Truly heroic.
Yeah I don’t think we should not resign Shamet, deuce or Mitch just bc they struggled. It’s the finals. It gets tougher every round. Mitch was great in the Philly series. Deuce went off in that series too. Shamet was unconscious in the Cavs series.
Deuce missed open shots. But many of the spurs young players came up short too. Doesn’t mean you get rid of them.
All of those guys helped us get through the regular season. Bring them back if it makes sense economically and draft some players to maybe take their spot if he get lucky.
1
KAT had more than just a good 5 mins after Game 2. He was an instrumental part of the 4Q comeback in Game 4, hitting some clutch buckets and possibly saving the game with his fingernail on Harper’s inbounds pass. Might have had even more had he not been kneecapped by the whistle.
But, yes, in the end the Cap did what superstars are expected to do – will the team to victory by carrying it on his back under the brightest of lights, if needed. Until last night, no one knew for certain if Brunson was that guy. We know it now.
1

Those were the 5 minutes! He was terrible last night. But rather than dwell on how bad he was for the last two games, I’m suggesting the right way to look at it in a series like this is to grateful he gave us the 5 minutes. You can’t expect good games from people who are less than Brunson, you just hope you get some good shifts.
It was the same for the Thunder, too. The Spurs disappeared that whole team except SGA. KAT gave us 5 more minutes than Chet gave them
Tell me this isn’t a dream!
Woke up to see J Macri, Claudio, and CP’s reaction to the win and it sent chills up my spine. Whoever tries to clown grown men crying over this championship is a coward and a hater. This is HUGE for a team with the longest drought and a few near misses and some shoulda’s over the past 27 seasons
My lady during the postgame interviews with EJ: Are you…crying??
Me: Yes babe! You don’t understand..this is unreal for us Knicks fans
This fuckin team!
We were down double digits in every game and still sent them packing in 5. What an incredible assembly of grit, heart, resilience, defense, and skill. This also changes the narrative on Mike Brown too. Yal know many times I looked at Hart or OG playing the 5 against Wemby and shouted, “WTF WE DOIN HERE??”, only to see the guys more than hold their own?
Fuck the 2nd apron, and bring everyone back. And if Shamet has priced himself out of NY, then I’m sure we can get a bigger version of him in the draft. Clarkson is probably gonna take his ring and find a bigger role elsewhere. But I think we are fine with an Alvarado/Deuce 2nd unit backcourt, provided we can find a bigger body to do what Shamet does- or at least come close to it. Who knows..that could be Dadiet next season
I’m gonna miss watching this team until next season. This has been an incredible ride
Still fantastic.
I hope Katz’s book goes into the refereeing scandal in the finals. Someone needs to pull back the curtain and look into that.

KAT grabbed 10 rebounds, including 9 defensive rebounds. He played solid defense on Wemby, something I did not think was possible before this playoff run.
His gravity helped make Mitch Johnson keep playing Brunson 1 on 1.
Not his best game, but he made a real contribution.

last night at halftime our cat starting groaning and vomiting…my wife walked in the living room and was like “i think she needs to got to the pet emergency room” and I was like (while side eyeing the screen on the tv) “ok…um…its halftime of the closeout game of the championship for the team I have rooted for since I popped out of the womb 61 yrs ago…gonna be tough for me to go sit in the pet hospital waiting room and have to watch on my phone…you think you can do this solo?”……she assessed the situtation and put the cat in the carrier and left me sitting on the couch…

reading this tweet is like watching a 17th playoff win

They said we weren’t a good fit for their culture. Said we weren’t good enough in our roles. Peter Patton, Heather Mau, Jalen. We did and will continue to do the work.
Like everyone else here this morning, I’m overwhelmed with love for every member of this team and wish we could preserve this roster in amber forever.
We are fans. We tend toward the overly sentimental, especially in the afterglow of an exhilarating, literally once-in-a-lifetime title run. Leon & Co. don’t have the luxury of sentiment. Part of what made Mitch and Shamet so valuable to this team were their below market deals. That’s now about to change and it’s Leon’s job to figure out whether or not they are worth a hefty pay raise or if they can find similar production elsewhere at similar cost. I don’t necessarily like it as a fan but my guess is that one, if not both, of Mitch & Landry won’t be back.

The thing that makes this team so special is that it has so many weapons and ways to win. The Spurs have a super elite defense, but whatever adjustments they made to take something away, it opened up something else and someone else would step up. At various times it was Brunson, Towns, OG, Mikal, Shamet and even Hart. They all had moments when they were being shut down and other moments that they made SA pay. The variability of performance of our players was in part the normal ups and downs from game to game, but it was also who the Spurs were trying to stop and what they were trying to take away.
The Knicks offense was not subpar.
The Spurs defense was great. Just not great enough.
And remember, Mitch was playing hurt and clearly less than 100% and Deuce had his moments in the playoffs, but he never really looked 100% since he came back either.
One lesson I think the Spurs (and a lot of other teams) need to learn is that no one can go 100% from start to finish if they are playing normal minutes of 35 or more. The Spurs were coming out with a 110% mania level defense every game and the Knicks were rating themselve like a racehorse so they were at 100% at the end. Between being unable to sustain 100% at the end, being young and feeling the pressure and the Knicks hitting the gas pedal late on defense we kept wearing them down.
OKC is the other team that gets that. They are always at their best at the end. They just have a few less weapons than us and came up a bit short this year in the conference finals.
The Spurs did the tortoise and hare thing in all five games, never adjusted. Flying around like maniacs with the turbo button mashed down for the first 2.5 quarters of the game, followed by getting gassed and outplayed in the fourth.
For all of their youth and athleticism, they were not able to be the hare for all 48 minutes. At some point you run out of turbo. And they never really figured that out. Just came out with that button fully mashed in all five games.

I don’t necessarily like it as a fan but my guess is that one, if not both, of Mitch & Landry won’t be back.
I think that in this climate, it would be easier for this team to replace Shamet. What Mitch does is invaluable. Now that we have Alvarad to back Jalen up, I can see Deuce, Dadiet, or a rookie replacing Shamet’s role
Kate McKinnon doing Miss Colleen Rafferty as a long time Knicks fans on a panel with two recent bandwagon Knicks fans comparing their respective experiences!
FOSTER: I am agent Foster with the NBA and this is special agent Brothers. Now we know you’ve all been through quite an ordeal, so we appreciate you speaking to us on such short notice.
BROTHERS: You three experienced the first New York Basketball Championship in over 50 years, so obviously you’re of great interest to the NBA. Tell us your experience as Knicks fans.
FOSTER: Yes. After Mr Chalamet brought you into the garden, what is your next memory?
KYLIE JENNER: Well … I came to and I saw this beautiful point guard made of like a calming blue light. He made us feel warm inside, like we Knicks fans could always rest easy, knowing he would find a way to win us any game.
ALANA HAIM: Yeah, same. And this one time after a game, that blue being touched my head. And I felt every emotion in its purest form. It was amazing. I cried, sir.
KYLIE JENNER: It was just so obvious the Knicks were gonna take us all the way to the top. We never had any doubt.
FOSTER: Okay. And you, Ms. Rafferty?
RAFFERTY/MCKINNON: (exhales smoke) Wow. What floor did you guys get in on?
2
Jalen Brunson might not be the best player in the game but he is easily the Greatest player in the game. Memory works different nowadays, our legends are crystallized in digital fappery, and lyric is lost to legion, but Jalen Brunson will forever be ours. We all have that together and apart. I’m in awe.

Credit to Bridges for an excellent playoff run. Many , including me, were down on him after first 3 games. What a turnaround.
The Thunder, Spurs, and Celtics (!) have better odds to win the title in 2027 than the Knicks.
6-2 vs Spurs this year. We played them well and were matchup most of us wanted.
That’s ridiculous. Even if Tatum is back 100 percent they do not have the bench they had during their title run.
Spurs and OKC…only one of them can make the finals.
If anything I’m more worried about Detroit continuing to get better.
Repeating is very hard but we gotta give it a shot.
Another moment that I loved: on Mitch’s offensive rebound on the missed FT attempt, he not only pulls down the rebound in a crowd, he has the presence of mind to throw a bullet pass to Anunoby so it’s OG taking the free throws and not Mitch. After he completes that pass you see Mitch clench his fists in victory because he knows he just put the game out of reach.

Ciao from Buonarotti!!
Also, Kba, my bad I missed your message. Thanks! Enjoy your stay here, and if you see someone walking around in a smelly and frayed Clyde black T-shirt, stop me and we’ll have a drink together… my treat, of course! 🙂

We got the whole fucking chip not just the tip.

Had a crazy dream last night where Jalen Brunson scored 45 points and exorcised 53 years of agony as the Knicks won the world championship for the first time in my lifetime and I felt so happy and it all felt so real.
What time is Game 5 tonight?
1
if you see someone walking around in a smelly and frayed Clyde black T-shirt
I’ll look for you. I’m the guy in the throwback starter cap.
I live in Milan now, since one year, but I’ll still take the free drink 😉
We should gather all the Italians some day, native and adopted. Maybe to kick off next season with a bottle of Prosecco, since we’re all about to go on (glorious Mediterranean) holiday/s for summer.
All best.

I don’t necessarily like it as a fan but my guess is that one, if not both, of Mitch & Landry won’t be back.
The thing is, we have bird rights on Mitch and early bird rights in shamet. That makes it much easier to bring them back, even at a much higher number, then to bring in a player from outside who can approximate what they’ve done for this team.
Maybe one or both goes out in a sign and trade, but that’s also complicated because we’re above the first apron now and very close to the second apron.
Ariel Hukporti with 2 minutes an assist a block and a rebound in a nail biter.
Huk also boxed Wemby into oblivion on Harper’s last missed free throw. OG waltzes in to secure the rebound
3

100%.
It was bad coaching by Mitch Johnson not to have his players immediately maul Mitch if/when he grabbed an offensive rebound.
No one needs to go because of this climate. You have to understand that the climate actually allows you to keep your team together for at least two consecutive years before it becomes prohibitive. There’s no reason to not re-sign everyone.
You also have to realize there’s a secret benefit to paying Mitch & Landry as much as possible: it gives you salary you can use in trades.
Leon did a great job finding Alvarado but his search was severely limited bc the only salary he could trade was Yabu’s $5M. You give him Landry at $11M or Mitch at $15-20M and now there’s a whole lot of things he can do.
Every recent champ that’s tried to play the “not good value” game found out the hard way. The Lakers thought Caruso wasn’t good value. The Nuggets didn’t want to pay KCP or Brown. We shouldn’t do what those cheap teams did or we’ll regret it as much as they did.
The Lakers thought Caruso wasn’t good value. The Nuggets didn’t want to pay KCP or Brown.
Back in the day we got Tyson Chandler because Cuban didnt want to pay for his championship team.

Back in the day we got Tyson Chandler because Cuban didnt want to pay for his championship team.
Lol Dallas was just going to be bad for a year and then they were going to sign Dwight Howard and Deron Williams. Worked out really well for them.
Another moment that I loved: on Mitch’s offensive rebound on the missed FT attempt, he not only pulls down the rebound in a crowd, he has the presence of mind to throw a bullet pass to Anunoby so it’s OG taking the free throws and not Mitch. Oh, yeah — totally.
Generally speaking, they just looked like a cool bunch of guys on the Larry O’B pedestal. No douchery, honest depiction of pure joy at the accomplishment and doing it with the dudes they did it with. Probably my main takeaway from the whole thing.
In basketball terms, the Spurs didn’t shoot and didn’t execute and therefore couldn’t stop the Knick runs. Happened over and over again and was pretty predictable very early on in the series.
In terms of next year’s roster, the typical stock answer is that there needs to be some change, lest the dynamic and ultimately performance become stale. In the afterglow of the championship, the natural reaction is no, that won’t happen, let’s just bring everyone back and they’ll have the same chemistry and everything next spring. But — unfortunately — it probably will.
Run it back with Landry and Mitch. Potentially we have 3 NBA spots and 2 two-way deals.
I’d cut Clarkson loose, who had his moments but is going to be another year older.
Not sure what happens with Sochan. Somebody could outbid us for him or maybe there’s a better player available.
Diawara could very well be gone without a handshake deal to re-sign him on a bigger deal after next year.
I suspect we keep McCullar. Maybe Dillon Jones. Trey Jemison won’t stick around.
We have 3 picks. Given our financial limitations and the FA talent often associated with those limitations, keeping (or minimally trading down) 24 & 31 may make sense from a win now perspective, even if we completely ignore the longterm benefit of young players. Punting 55 to make room for a vet min could definitely happen or they got slotted into a 2-way.

Brunson 45. Rest of team 49. I guess we know the MVP. HAHAHAHAHA
Brunson is just so authentic. How can you not love the guy.
I’ve waited my whole life for this
It doesn’t feel real yet
Thank you all for waiting all these years with me
I love you guys
Send him a ring, and Wemby too, since he said to Mitch “i’m in your head” it was all downhill from there… don’t play with karma!
Love you all!
This is so much more special that I’ve been able to share all of these years with you. What a fucking ride.
Tears Of Joy!
Clyde smiling was so great to see 🙂
I never thought I’d see this
I love what a mess Brunson was in that interview.
It was 2 months ago when I thought we were dead in the water and then everything fucking changed, starting with KAT playing team ball and Brunson letting him cook
I haven’t posted in months. Why? Every time I posted the Knicks lost so I stopped. This is my first post since then!
I’m in tears, sitting on my bed in a hotel in Verona Italy. I had to watch the entire finals in Italy, at 2:30 in the morning!
Tampering works
Knicks going 5 vs 8 every game and still pulled it out in 5!!
Unbelievable!!! Not even ‘The Extender” could stop this ship.
YEAH!!!!
Unfortunately Dolan is on the podium…
Okay I’ll take that Larry O’Brien now
This ^^^^^^^^^^
I LOVE YOU ALL! It was a joy to fight alongside you guys to get to this point! WE DESERVE THIS!!
Oh, Silver is there! Maybe Sochan can punch him in the nose.
Everyone booed him!
Leon!!!
Leon Rose can speak!
D’Aaron Fox co-MVP.
Fuck James Dolan.
Love you all.
Just want to say, I can’t imagine a better, smarter, funnier group of people to go on this long, painful, winding journey with. Love you all.
Leon Rose deserves 10 rings!
Leon speaks!!!!!!
James Dolan almost fucking dropped the trophy omg lol
ALL HAIL LEON ROSE
So many depressing years, days, minutes… all leading to this one sweet moment!
Everybody is in Italy and nobody warned me? 😀
JB is GOD
Never doubted him
lmao what
I can’t think straight, I’m shaking, I’m crying, I’m laughing, my head feels light.
After all these years there are a lot of things to say,
but it’s 5:45 AM and the wolves are howling here in the Dolomites, they’ll have to wait..
LOVE YOU GUYS, WE DID IT!
45 fucking points
Leon Rose, all the flowers
I am 38 year old man crying. I love this team. I love this city. I love my fellow fans
It’s hilarious how Ernie Johnson is SO choked up about this win. Like, why does HE give so much of a shit about it?
Welcome Knicksfaninmilan, and welcome back GoNYGoNYGo… i missed you man, but we’ve done it! 😉 🙂
I am halfway around the world in Mongolia, but didn’t feel alone at one of the best moments of my life because of you all… Thanks for the community. Thanks for the humor during the bad years. Thanks for the analytics and education. Thanks.
I think I’m in shock, like I’m going to wake up tomorrow and this will have been all a dream!!
Becky Hammond in tears.
NBA Cup MVP, East Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson!!!!!
The mezzanine feels so fucking good.
Thank you KB family for getting us through the dark days… THIS FUCKING TEAM!!!!
Fox and Mitch Johnson HAVE to be gone by next season after that spectacle.
All you guys are the best. Greatest sports community ever. They actually did it.
Coach went Wild!
When my dad died in 2012 I thought I would never have another outlet for my Knicks outbursts. This group was something special and now we have climbed the mountaintop together.
Mike brown is out there …
Congrats again to everyone! Such fun!
I love this blog, and I wouldn’t be as crazy about this team as I am without all of you. Much love.
New York Knicks are the first team in NBA history to win the Cup Championship and NBA Finals in same season.
Mike Brown.needs a Xanax more than JK
OG! OG!
Don’t worry, a 52 yo man is crying too! 😉
After the ECF last year and the Nesmith/Hailburton game, I don’t know if I’ve ever felt lower as a fan. It really felt like that was our best shot at that time. Having to get through that to get to this? Worth every painful second.
You can’t win a championship with a small PG
You can’t win a championship with a bad defender at C
You can’t win a championship without building through the draft
You can’t win a championship trading 5 picks for a role player
The Knicks can’t win a championship
41 and I’ve been crying since Wemby threw up that last shot.
Thanks cyber!
OG doesn’t break character even at this moment! 🙂 Love it
This team is so goddamn special, it is genuinely inspiring how they never gave up and clawed their way to being champions refs be damned.
This 68 year old is weeping like a baby.
I love Josh.
FUCK THEM PICKS
Josh Hart “forget them picks!”
Josh, “Forget them picks.” Hahaha
Lmao at Hart talking about the picks for Bridges.
Poor Donte though.
Never thought id see kat hoisting that trophy
I’ve been on this blog for over half my life. I spend more time complaining about the Knicks here than talking to my friends. This can’t be real.
MAX EXTENSIONS FOR EVERYBODY!!!
For how many minutes did we lead in this series. Like six? Hahaha.
35 and I’m in my car because I needed to get away from everyone to cry and read KBer
No longer in purgatory! Finally in Paradisio!! JB was our Beatrice! Let’s gooooo!!!
I’m here with my son and the two guys that I got season tickets with the day they drafted Ewing. I can’t express how fucking happy and relieved we are! Love to all KBers who have been loyal throughout!
Mitch should have gotten a shot at the mic as a longest tenured Knick but it’s ok…
Happy he had a couple critical plays at the end there
I’ve been waiting for this as a fan for over 35 years. And now it’s real. We did it!
I can’t even really comment bc I just am speechless and it doesn’t feel real. I’ll probably need a day before I can really write about what this means.
Clyde looks so happy
The view from the mezzanine has never been better
It’s time that Adam Silver hear from Knick fans that 5 on 8 basketball is not fair. There’s NO QUESTION in my mind that the NBA did everything they could to keep the Spurs in the series. There were at least 10 no-call flagrant fouls on the dirtiest player in the NBA.
Mitch’s rebound was huge! Happy he didn’t have to shoot free throws at the end.
Cool ass squad.
The is team man. This might be my favorite team ever. Up there with the great Yankees teams.
Lol
Been lurking for years and rarely post, but man I love you guys. What a year, what a team, what a group of online folks. Love this team, love you weirdos
I can’t believe Brunson did what he just did.
What a ridiculous, out of body performance. Against that defense, against the level of contact that was allowed. Insane. Historic.
I love all of you guys.
Go party, my friend! We deserve this! 😉
It was fitting Mitch secured this win with that rebound.
Very rarely post here but lurking since 2011. Fan since ‘89 out in Australia.
What a fucking fairytale run. We deserve every moment of this. Love to all of you. In shock, we fucking did itttttttt
🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙
ORANGE AND BLUE SKIES
Wow wow wow. So many heartbreaking and not good moments over the years. I’m 46. This just fills my heart. You all are awesome too. I love the blog. Been mostly a reader over the years and sometimes poster. But much love of it and you all.
I just wish this happened at the Garden. NY deserves this. The Knicks own New York!
( Huck will be able to tell his kids and grandkids that he rocked a + 3 in the championship game)
It was poetic, Mitch deserved it, and i hope this gets his mental problems to go away. We did it, Mitch, celebrate it as much as you can! 🙂
I’m feeling extra satisfaction from beating this Spurs team and Wemby.
I’m going to watch the entire playoff run again during the summer. Glorious!
I guess the Hawks are the second-best team in the NBA.
Brunson is limping off the court.
Never thought I’d see this day as a fan. So much disappointment all these years. I can’t believe this. Congrats to everyone and all us Knicks fans
Want to thank all of you who contribute to this blog… got me through a lot of years of pretty miserable basketball. You all are the best. Congratulations to us!
I was thinking the same thing about Mitch — they should’ve had him speak up there
How bad does DeAaron Fox suck
Kat taking pics with Ewing…nice
So happy Patrick is there for this
Brian, you’re THE MAN !! 😉
I guess the Hawks are the second-best team in the NBA.
well third because analytically the cavs just won the title
Wemby two weak games in a row. I’m shocked
I just ADORE that Mitch Johnson kept going with him over and over and over and over and over again.
AAAAAHAHAHASSSSAGEMFGIGMCZAQ&$&!!!!
OUR BOYS DID IT!!!! THEY FUCKING DID IT!!!
AHAHAHHA I DONT WANT YOUR FUCKING WHACK ASS CONGRATULATORY PHONE CALLS YOU FUCKING TROLLS!!!!!!!!
The Oak and Sweeny close-out!
Mitch Johnson about JB “he’s a heck of a player, he deserves everything he’s got”
Letting Fox shoot long 2 after long 2 as the Knicks closed the gap was one of the most insane things I’ve seen a coach do.
Also F you Wemby
LOLOL
Atkinson will be mad he doesn’t get the analytical ring !! 😀
“Had that been called a flagrant, Wemby would have had to sit game six.”
Chuck: “He can still sit game six.” Hahaha.
They should still upgrade the Wemby foul and let him sit on opening night.
CDiggy, don’t troll the trolls back, it’ll hurt even more. 😉
And enjoy this, man, it’s a f*ck*ng amazing feeling!
It was truly astonishing. Just one of the most insane coaching jobs I’ve ever seen.
I just wish someone recorded what was said in the locker room after game three of the first round.
Can’t wait for the doc about this season.
To be fair, Castle gave them nothing tonight.
Do you think now we will hang the cup banner too?
True, part of the problem with Fox was that his teammates were all choking, and he at least had the confidence to keep chucking like a moron.
Katz: “ The most KAT thing of all time — he was holding up the walkway off the court because he wanted to share the trophy with Knicks fans, so he stopped and leaned into the stands to let a bunch of them touch it. They reacted like it was the best moment of their lives.”
Also, Fred’s book is now available for preorder: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Under-the-Bright-Lights/Fred-Katz/9781668204832?utm_campaign=under_the_bright_lights&utm_content=&utm_medium=author_social&utm_source=author_post
LOL
How weird must it have been for Clyde to do the voiceovers for that commercial?
Can we give a collective shout out to our Knicks physio staff. A season of game balls for each of them.
And then with 5 minutes left in their elimination game, he took Wemby off the floor for Kornet!
Unbelievable. Congratulations folks. Didn’t think this would happen in my lifetime
Never thought anybody would replace Ewing as my favorite Knick ever but officially Brunson is not only my favorite Knick ever but might be my 2nd favorite athlete ever after Jeter.
That’s been me since Hawks Game 5!
Is Wemby at the presser still saying how he’s sure they’ll win
It won’t be remembered as such because we won in 5, but this has been one of the best NBA Finals.
Love you all. Thanks for talking me through the past 12 or so years.
Yeah, that’s what I was saying the other day, that I am THRILLED that they won, but it DOES hurt a LITTLE bit that the greatness of this Finals won’t be duly appreciated.
How much coke do you think Chalamet consumed through this playoff run?
LOL
I feel the same, minus the Jeter thing. Brunson is my new GKOAT…really need to workshop a better acronym for that.
Ernie Johnson just said the Knicks lead for all of 56 or so minutes during this series. IN-FRICKIN-CREDIBLE
All lurkers and members that hadn’t been commenting recently, getting back is a joy to see! Keep that coming, please! 🙂
Yes, as a Knick fan I am happy. But I am really happy for all of you guys. You’re a great bunch of fans, and you deserve a team that reflects your level of fandom.
Parade on thursday! 🧡💙🏀🏆🥳🎉
Jalen, man, take off those damn Michelob glasses. Hahaha.
AND FU BECKY HAMMON!
Rick Brunson unsolicited saying that Patrick Ewing was a better Knick than Jalen is BIZARRE.
Rick is just messing with Jalen.
Band of bloggers. I love you guys.
Begley: “What do you say to the criticism you were getting?”
Mikal: “I say… F*CK THEM PICKS”
LOLOL
It’ll be very interesting to learn whether or not this championship will allow me to enjoy next season without much stress or anxiety over the team. Like, we got one, and more would be more better, but will one be enough to not let losses bother me anymore? I sure hope so.
Flags Fly Forever
We need the losses to bother us to get another one, so let’s go through it. 😉
Absolutely crazy! I was so happy he was in the game.
Mike Brown: “He [JB] is a 1A !!!” 🧡💙
You know, you’re right. Greed is good! Let’s be the first team to repeat in 9 years!
I can’t fucking believe it we won
Mitch at the press conference !!
45 points on 27 FGA in a closeout game for Cap.
Monstrous
I just emerged from the Wyoming wilderness to see that Mookie Betts spoiled Yamamoto’s perfect game by committing a routine error with 2 outs in the 9th inning, ugh.
Anything else happen I should know about?
How about the greatest irony of all? The final scoring play of the Knicks title game was Mikal Bridges free throws
Somehow a storm is falling on me now to prevent me to go celebrate at the city hall… and for me to know if there’s more diehard Knicks fans in Porto!
They should hang both banners.
The man picked a helluva time to have his best game of the series.
Donnie, you’re crying too, we know it! 😉 😛

This team shall feast forever in Knicks Valhalla with Reed, Frazier, Ewing, Monroe, and all of the Knicks legends of the past.
Enough to overcome the disappointment of winning behind selfish play from Brunson? 😉
Congrats to all of us who picked Bridges to hit the game-winning shot. 😉
This will never get old now, you should’ve trademark it, Alan. 😉
I picked JB 😛
LOL
I guess it’s pretty cool when your PG doesn’t tear his achilles in the closeout game. Never thought I’d be jealous of Knick Fans:)
JB with a GOAT playoffs performance. Just unreal. What a lovable team.
Jalen essentially put up Steph Curry’s first finals MVP numbers. Just stop and think about that.
Oh and the team with the best postseason point differential EVER?: your 2025-6 New York Knicks.
.
We prolly win by 30 if Brunson’s ego and “hero ball” doesn’t get in the way. 😉
So weird to not be 2-4 weeks deep into draft talk as Knick fans typically are this time of year.
This still doesn’t seem real. May take me a day or two to fully process that the New York Knicks are actually the NBA champs.
52 years old. Never saw a miracle. Just did.
52 years old: Crying my eyes out. Don’t care.
I love you guys and this blog and Jalen Brunson.
No sportsmanship from San Antonio to the end–not one of them congratulated the Knicks.
Ingracious, arrogant, and entitled. Its a bad combination for a young team moving forward.
The beauty of this championship is that we will be able to watch Knicks games for the rest of our lives like semi-normal people.
Such a great run. Fifteen of 16.
I am both glad it’s over and sad it’s over.
I doubt we will see the like again.
What will I do every other night?
73 or 74? I’m from 73!
9 days til the draft, fellas
It’s dawn here in Porto, but how can i go to sleep?? 😀
Leon’s gonna light all three picks on fire, and we are going to cheer him on as he does it.
I’m pretty sure OG scored the final points of the season…
He did, BBA. Which reminds me:

Leon is a legend now, right? The greatest to do it? He had a bigger task than any GM in NY sports history and accomplished his mission dealing with one of the most meddling/self-sabotaging owners ever, in a star league where no “stars” wanted to join this team, and all of the media/fandom breathing down his neck/double-guessing him.
Been 99.9999% a lurker since, I dunno, 2010? 2011? Love this board. Love you guys. Let’s go Knicks!
From Begley’s piece on how this all came together: https://sny.tv/articles/knicks-win-2026-nba-finals-spurs-trust-sacrifice
This is really a multiple generations effort to build our MVP. Rick probably knew exactly how to coach Jalen from childhood because they have a similar body type, and he understood their strengths because of his own experience.
Same probably happened with the Harpers, but who cares about them.
For the former Knicks that got close but couldn’t win it.
Ewing/Starks Knicks
Sprewell/Houston Knicks
Melo/Stoudemire Knicks
So glad they went to the games and get to celebrate with the team.
For the fans.
Those that endured years of incompetence and finally their patience is rewarded.
Even the new fans who are riding the wave of this sensational run. All are welcome.
What a team. What a fanbase. 2026 NBA Champions!!!
Well said. I love that the past Knicks were around a lot and could celebrate this. Starks and Ewing were my 2 favorites. I feel good for them. They got so close so many times.
The last time one of my teams won a world championship, I was 14 years old in my living room watching Jesse Orosco strike out Marty Barrett then flinging his glove into the air.
It was OG’s free throw with 7.7 seconds to go. OG also got the final rebound and had the ball in his hands to end the game.
Make the night even better Tampa lost so the Yankees are alone in 1st place along with the best record in the AL…
I felt and feel the same way. Fan since 93 and this is the first team where it wasn’t if but how
Look at how many people have flooded the streets to sing the song!

OK this pic brought tears to my eyes.
KNICKERCHAMPS!!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!!! Finally got home after walking the streets of midtown and the village, these guys made soo many ppl happy tonight !
The big fella finally got his trophy. YES!
Mike freakin Brown…who’da thunk it..
Not an original thought, but he’s the Joe Torre to Thibs’ Buck Showalter. Will he have the sustained success Torre did with the Yankees? Almost certainly not. But he was the perfect guy in the perfect moment.
Yep…had the midas touch when it counted…the anti Aaron boone
Awwww… now Precious is Squidward!

I was 15.”
It is a very beautiful day.
Wemby is such a child…
On Wemby.
Wemby ends his presser
He’s amongst the dirtiest players I’ve ever seen and he’s such a bad person. He had a family with 2 young boys kicked out of a hotel for saying “Good luck” to him.
His new Knickname is “The Biggest Dick”.
Mitch Johnson did say after the game that they weren’t ready to win the title and the better team won.
So does Wemby still get a 1 game suspension if the landing area foul is correctly upgraded to a flagrant?
I’m still wide fucking awake…

By the way.
I un-ironically have started thinking about this.
It is a testament to Jalen Brunson that he remained a team-first guy even while scoring 45 of the Knicks’ 94 points.
He did it because it was necessary.
The Knicks had the best player.
The Knicks had the best leader.
That’s why Jalen Brunson is the MVP.
I am so grateful to this community for the mutual aid through the lean years.
I had to come back for the playoff run.
I hope I have added to the enjoyment of others.
I know I have received far more than I have given.
WORLD CHAMPION NEW YORK KNICKS!
Brunson going to Mitch Johnson as soon as the game ended was a classy move.
He stole my line! [Smiling broadly]

I just woke up and we’re still fucking NBA champions! What a fucking magical run!
The mythmakers are going to insist in coming years that “Everyone loves Wemby,” but he’s a mega douchebag.
Huk low-key had a solid shift last night.
Pitchforks are out for Mitch Johnson on the Spurs blogs.

I’ve been sitting on an idea for a while…
The city was too crazy to organize a watch party together, but I think it would be fitting (poetic, even) to have a KB championship celebration/meetup on draft night.
Can we replace the morning news threads for the Knicks are champions threads for the foreseeable future?
Can’t imagine ever getting bored of this. Was scrolling through fan sites of the Pistons, Cavs, Hawks, and 76ers; the Piston fans are delusional, but the rest recognized the historic greatness of this team and this run. So very satisfying

During which, I think Bron learned some humility.
Fuck.
Dem.
Picks.
Ditto for Landry, whose quiet showing in the final round made him seem somewhat less indispensable.
not to get too deep in the weeds when everyone’s hung over and not in the mood to nerd out on analytics, but quantitatively speaking there were a lot of signs that mitch was going rip that orb away from wemby

lol do pistons fans really think they would have beaten us because of those regular season games?
Adam Silver must be overjoyed that 3 of the final 4 teams in his oft-mocked Emirates Cup also wound up in the Conference finals and that the endings of the two tournaments produced the exact same result.
Vindication!
Jose, “If we win ….” hahaha.

Um (as an out of towner atm) I just read today is the Puerto Rican Day Parade in NYC. Might be crayyyyyzeeee.
Brunson picked a great day for a great performance. I don’t know how he did it. The Spurs defense was super elite at times between the perimeter and Wemby in the middle. At times no one could get open, when they did they were hesitant to shoot and when they shot they missed. Even OG didn’t have it going on offense (great on defense). The Nova boys carried us to victory with Brunson leading the charge!
No words…Thank you Knickerbloggers for all the years, all the nights and days, long time comin’, and all the Dads out there (like mine) who make this moment that much greater!!! We fuckin’ did it!!!
DRed did you disappear because Leon makes your drive to become GM less likely? Send us a sign of life.
I’ve actually been legitimately concerned about DRed’s absence. He never said a lot but he never said nothing, either. Please do confirm you’re alive.
Wemby’s playoff TS% when all was said and done, was a mere .606. He has too limited an offensive game to ever be The Face of The League (TM).
I think Harper will ultimately be the guy you can give the ball to and say “get me a basket” and Wemby will still score his 30. They have a great future but there are going to be some epic wars between them and OKC for quite awhile if OKC can add a piece with all those picks and is willing to keep that team together financially.
Best ad ever:

Goosebumps
Also: loser shit from the Spurs not congratulating the Knicks.
Hope you never get back here.
I thought he was good throughout the presser. Also his English is great but he still answered in fuller detail, and emotion in French. Vessel also seemed like a genuine, smart and articulate man.
With better shooting they’ll become a terrifying team.
Holy shit, Jose’s gonna have a day
Fair enough. I literally only saw the clip of his exit.
Games 3, 4, and 5 were probably rigged and the Knicks still managed to take two out of three. Unstoppable force.
The NBA cut the “see ya… never” from the official clip. Stupid fakers.
Do you guys think Thibs passed out seeing the Knicks defense yesterday? Holy shit were they good.
Also: I’m still mad at the non-flagrant. What bullshit.
good things come to those that wait
thankfully there is nothing in there sayin’ you gotta wait patiently…
Won’t that get an automatic review and some kind of validation regardless, or it is only the last few minutes of games?
Knickerblogger Hudson Valley Championship Meet-up…..Katonah, Mahopac, Armonk, somewhere else? Any ideas?
My best friend sent me this last night. They apparently used to play it at MSG in the 80s.
https://youtu.be/dCdQwj2oJK0?is=Jg3fx4Kgg_NJK1Q-
They should totally play that during the parade, along with Go New York Go and that bullshit cartoon music the San Antonio arena played for our introductions.
Someone mentioned SNL earlier, and I’ll tell you what I want to see — no, what I need to see…
Kate McKinnon doing Miss Colleen Rafferty as a long time Knicks fans on a panel with two recent bandwagon Knicks fans comparing their respective experiences!
Anyone here with industry contacts, please help make this happen!!

I think that in this climate, it would be easier for this team to replace Shamet. What Mitch does is invaluable. Now that we have Alvarad to back Jalen up, I can see Deuce, Dadiet, or a rookie replacing Shamet’s role
I’ll look for you. I’m the guy in the throwback starter cap.
I live in Milan now, since one year, but I’ll still take the free drink 😉
We should gather all the Italians some day, native and adopted. Maybe to kick off next season with a bottle of Prosecco, since we’re all about to go on (glorious Mediterranean) holiday/s for summer.
All best.
Back in the day we got Tyson Chandler because Cuban didnt want to pay for his championship team.
Lol Dallas was just going to be bad for a year and then they were going to sign Dwight Howard and Deron Williams. Worked out really well for them.
