This stupid losing streak has got to be nipped in the bud at three games. Three games is already too long, but it better be done tonight, as the Raptors suck.
And Towns is back, so just get this shit done!
Let’s go, Knicks!
Let me take a quick moment to again say how sorry I am to Donnie, and all of the other people I know who have been affected by the awful fires in California.

Donnie-Donnie!!
Breen’s announcing the wrong game.
So sorry Donnie, sounds like you’re handling it as well as possible. I’d say I hope the Knicks win for you but I know you’ve been indifferent about that for a while.
wishing yourself and the family the very best donnie…
stay safe…
Towns is limping already…wtf
All the best Donnie. Glad your family is okay.
In your honor, I’ll watch OKC/CLE instead of the Knicks.
Perhaps they should have read the scouting report that says that RJ kinda likes to go left…
So good to hear Clyde’s voice
For Bridges to miss that 3, I have to assume the whole team has the yips
How is it that we don’t get the calls even at home?
Brunson is really struggling from three
Brunson and KAT are moving around like they’re 60yo.
I liked it better when we were one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the league
towns injured again?
WE HIT A 3!
The only Knick capable of hitting a three is Josh Hart. I believe that’s one of the signs of the apocalypse…
cfb, my take on it is KAT is still injured.
This is why I said I hoped he, Deuce and even Brunson sat out tonight.
I don’t give a shit if we lose to the Raptors tonight. I care about having 100% healthy Towns going forward. That isn’t possible with the idiot savant in charge creating a culture of playing through everything unless you are on life support.
I’ve had it with Thibs. I’ve been a supporter and defender from the time we signed him and during every controversy since, but I’ve had enough. He’s not going anywhere because he just signed a long extension, but we are going to need Divine intervention and maybe some water from Lourdes to keep this team at 100% for the playoffs and even together long term. The savant part is not good enough to offset the idiot!
yep, Raven, he looks semi-hobbled out there.
Not saying Brunson’s shooting has to do with his hamstring, but it seems like quite a coincidence
He may not be smart trying to play tonight but definitely can’t call KAT soft.
I don’t know who the fuck Ty Jerome is but he scored 6 points on 3 consecutive possessions for CLE. So more points for Knicks bench tonight or Ty Jerome this quarter?
Edit: FTs for Jerome. Maybe just Ty consecutive points vs entire Knicks bench
Oh good, Hart’s hurt now. Ribs.
Now we have nobody to shoot threes.
Hart and KAT both got injured and we still can’t hit a 3 but other than that this game rocks
If we can’t get back to at least league average from 3 it’s gonna be a tough time
TOs like that one from Shamet are just inexcusable
I’m half hoping we are up by 25-30 in the 4th quarter just to see if this embecile is sick enough to put Towns and Brunson back in the game.
I may read Creation Lake. Start of this game super ominous
This Cleveland-OKC game is pretty great
Trending better
OG really is a terrible rebounder
OG to the locker room
That was pathetic…olynuk stripped og…and then got an and one off if him
Now back
Those guys can neither hit layups nor play Tic-Tac-Toe. Not sure which is more embarrassing. (League Pass video)
Towns got a call! Towns got a call! Alert the media!
KAT even with just 1 leg is still pretty good.
Man, I sympathize with Thibs – Shamet and Payne are not awesome
23 bench minutes for Toronto, 12 for the Knicks so far.
Let’s see how we do in the fourth quarter.
Yeah I’m gonna go ahead and say KAT shouldn’t be in this game. Play Huk or Sims or Obi’s bro or whoever else and hope for the best. This is simply not a must-win game.
Thunder vs Cavs is a great game. Mitchell is being held in check, but Cavs still have the lead. We’ll see if the OKC depth works in the 4th quarter against a team going 10 deep.
I knew KAT was really good but I still can’t believe he’s this really fucking good.
OMG Donnie, I can’t imagine how it is. I’m glad everyone is safe, but still that’s bad.
So if they kept track, who ends up on the ground more after driving to the basket?
Brunson, Hart or KAT
The trivia is really easy, answer I’m pretty sure is Rick Brunson.
I didn’t expect Clyde to have so much problem pronoincing “Shawmut”
Clyde calling Shamet “Charmin” seems appropriate
KAT has one rebound. Yeah, he’s hurt.
What’s happening with Brunson? Since i’ve turned it on he missed everything. 😮
I think he’s exhausted and a little banged up. That’s why he hasn’t been able to hit 3 for the last 15 games.
He has a dumb coach and a warrior mentality. Not a good combo.
Should win that challenge
Iso OG scares me! LOL
These first half minutes are crazy.
“suffocating d by the raptors”
i’m sure is something no ever tv crew has ever said.
Bridges can’t shoot again.
Brunson is absolutely killing the Knicks, just awful right now.
Finishing the quarter strong as usual
This OKC vs. Cavs game is one where I think not having Chet is hurting OKC. The Cavs are BIG.
The offense feels like it did to start the season. Not really generating good looks but talented enough to score. I don’t like it.
How often do we hear that about the opposition: “he’s under 30% for 3 for the season, but that one goes in”
Unfortunately Bridges 3pters looks like the beginning of the season.
dmar, pretty sure it’s Hart. He’s down on every drive. Brunson often pulls up at the hoop, so only goes down about half the time. KAT tries hard not to fall down cuz he’s so huge, although he fails a lot.
A lot. It’s that and the random scrub with a career high against us.
I can’t even watch the Knicks tonight. I’ll get too pissed off.
OG over 22 minutes?
Hart over 20 minutes?
Towns limping around.
Brunson clearly less than 100%.
Against fvcking Toronto?
thibs wont sub them until they do dumb fouls to have a rest
or they are in a coffin
Well it’s true that if your bench is Payne and Shamet, playing them is painful to the eyeballs and the soul.
But I do count five other guys on the bench, just sitting there…
Bridges, Towns and Brunson each played 18 minutes in the half. That doesn’t seem excessive to me. Hart played 20 minutes, which seems ok for him. Only OG overdid it with 22 minutes.
Big terrifying fire in the Hollywood Hills now, barreling towards Hollywood.
Bridges 1 for his last 18 from three
Brunson with first three in three games.
Bridges 2 for his last 19 from three…
I hate the long minutes but it’s not that. It is so abundantly clear, not for the first time, that we would be trailing right now had our bench players played more. I am not sure we will win tonight, we are not playing well, but I am almost certain we will lose without long starter minutes. Everyone make your choice on that and if you don’t like that we are playing to win you may as well switch to the OKC game. Or take a valium. Just don’t make stupid comments out of frustration.
Bridges 2 for his last 20 from three…
2 for 21…
Is there a rule that only one of OG or Bridges can make shots?
Rough, you may be right, but it looks like we’ll never test it so we’ll never know if you’re right. The flip side is that Ryan and Kolek might actually hit some threes.
The Raptors gave both Shead and Walter real minutes in the first half, and they’re both rookies.
2 for 22. I’d let Ryan and Kolek try that.
Definitely agree that this is more of a tradeoff than is often acknowledged. The bench stinks and our reocrd would probably ba materially worse without Thibs’ insanity.
The counterargument is our bad 4th quarter stats indicate our main guys might be gassed, which would presumably be less of an issue if they played less.
I buy it to a large extent, but also am not sure we’d be in those close 4th quarters in the first place if Landry Shamet played 20 minutes every game.
Yeah, and not playing our rookies except for 1 and a half minutes at the end of a game is really a great way to develop them to be productive bench players.
Clyde on all star voting on his home P.C.
“I still have the quick hands”
I refuse to believe that the Knicks’ bench is worse than the benches of the worst teams in the league, and the starters have played high minutes against those teams too.
Raven, I agree with you although there is the defensive side of the ball as well. It’s not just being able to make the three. Anyways, this is not what is going on in here. I am sure you read the posts above.
Great block from Precious
6’8 > 6’1 I guess
Shead abused OG there but Precious saved the day.
iHart with 5 fouls. Jaylin Williams at 6’8″ is the backup and I suspect is gonna struggle against Mobley and Allen.
So sad what’s happening in LA. 😢
East is big
Sans Deuce, it’s kind of hard to think of a bench worse than ours.
Wow Toronto is awful.
We’re not even playing that well and are up 14 because the Raptors are just god awful
Nice move from IQ. Still love him.
Don’t think the BBQ lineup will have legs though
Chaamét
Thought the same thing. Weird.
Only fair that I note Shamet has done some good non-shooting stuff tonight!
“Chaamét”
OK
Their top three is a decent young nucleus but the group around them is pure dreck.
Jarrett Allen is, for lack of a better word, Mitch-ing OKC.
I guess I gotta start believing in the Cavs
Chalamet is playing well tonight.
Cavs are for real I guess.
i keep waiting for the cavs to show us all they are not for real…that is not what is happening though…credit where credit is due, the cavs look like a really well rounded team…
Empty the bench now you sadistic idiot. We have OKC Friday and they are coming off a really tough game and loss against the Cavs. We can beat them if we are fresh, healthy and ready!
Even fully healthy Toronto is beyond awful. Also have I mentioned how awesome KAT is?
I think we can say with some confidence these days that Jarret Allen is better than Mitch
Cruising to a comfortable win but I don’t see the starters coming out….
32-4 is an insane record no matter how you slice it
This is an example of how the minutes compound: there was no reason for OG to come back when he did. The unit on the floor was playing well and expanding the lead. Holding him back another 3-4 minutes would not have killed them, and it might have prevented him from playing the 40+ minutes he will end up playing tonight.
You mean he’s better than injured Mitch? 😛 😀
No clue what this Toronto coach brings to the table. Very unimpressive.
Good work in the second half. Now let’s take the calculated risk of the bench blowing a 22 point lead in 5 minutes.
It’s been a long time.
OG and hart are amazing.
But KAT is huge.
I still don’t think they are better than 100% healthy Boston or OKC with Chet (OKC needs Chet against this specific Cavs matchup because the Cavs are BIG), but they are very very good.
Great game by OG tonight.
yay, we have defeated the raptors and ended our ugly losing streak…let’s hope we can help the thunder to a 2 game losing streak on friday…
The starters are playing like the bench would, to teach Thibs a lesson. LOL
Just under four minutes to go, various Raptor starters sitting down.
24 points up, 4 minutes to go. WE MUST PLAY OUR STARTERS
Welcome back, Frank O. 🙂
All 5 starters in up 25 with 4 minutes left
Sheer insanity
I watched the last five minutes of the Cavs versus OKC. Both teams are better than us.
Nice to see our boys RJ and IQ scoring well, but the Raptors defense is atrocious.
Why is Brunson still in the game??
It’s not just insane that the starters other than KAT are still in, it’s also bad form because the Raps have their scrubs in and have thrown in the towel.
Knicks were up 15 but Quickley was +7 when he left. He’s nowhere near in shape yet.
Thank you Clyde for pointing out Thibs moronically leaving the starters in after the timeout
oh so 25 points up with 2 minutes to go is Thibs sub time
See, they cut the lead to 18
Thibs is smarter than all of us!
Kollek will be sent back to Westchester before he can get to the locker room.
An all Knicks bench unit minus Deuce can most certainly blow a 20 pt lead in just a few mins.
Yeah…I was thinking the same thing watching that…mitch or no mitch
The losing coach throws in the towel first and a couple of possessions later the winning coach brings in the subs. This is how it goes. High school kids often don’t know that and may get upset.
I liked this game much better than the last few games!
Mitch sighting!
wow, the bench looked really really terrible to end the game…
maybe we should get these guys in more often…
MUCH more fun watching the kids screw up than watching Brunson crashing into people and onto the floor with a minute left…
And honestly, that last few minutes was Boucher scoring a bunch in a row and Sims suddenly developing butter stumps.
6 stocks for KAT, not bad on one leg.
Finished with 13 rebounds, hows it goink
The second half was good. We struggled a lot in the first.
I think we need healthy Mitch to compete with the Cavs or they could kill us inside. We might have a similar issue with OKC once Chet is back. I don’t think we can match up with their size without him. Other than that, both of their benches are way better than ours, but I’m not sure they are better than us top 6 vs top 6 including healthy Mitch. We are right there.
wow, our bench with their 2 minutes garbage time per game look terrible. if only they did more with that 2 minutes when it arrived, maybe they would… nah, thibs looked livid that he had to sub players in.
I do wish the old Brunson would come back. The one who could shoot.
Oh, don’t you worry. Thibs has a solution for that.
Yep! He used to be automatic from 12-15 feet.
I caught the last few minutes of the game starting around when OG stole the ball. Kinda looked like the scrubs would’ve blown the lead if they got another minute.
Kolek did not look good. No idea what that pass on offense for the TO was. Shead shredded him on one defensive possession for the Boucher corner 3.
Matt Ryan and Sims can’t hold onto a ball.
I liked the aggression by Toppin, but nothing came from it.
Give him a couple of games off, roll with Payne and Kolek and accept that you might lose a game or two that you could have won in the short term in order to potentially win more later with a fresher healthier Brunson instead of 85%-90% of him for a longer series of games.
IMO this minutes issue and taking games off requires a cost benefit analysis that reasonable people can debate and differ on. But when you know you have guys on your team that ARE exhausted and less than 100% physically, there really should be no debate. That goes quadruple when you are up mid teens late in the 4th and the other team has already emptied the bench.
I’ve said quite a few times that Thibs has many of the same qualities as my brother (who is on the spectrum). I don’t think it will help talking to him. I don’t think clear logic or data will change him.
He would run this team into the ground and possibly shorten the peak career of a couple of players on this team to win meaningless games. And it will all make make perfect sense to him. And unfortunately some people will try to defend him and rationalize it all away.
I can’t take it anymore. It’s one thing when we were fresh and rolling. That’s not the case now. There is no debate in my mind. He is HURTING our chances long term.
JB played 34 minutes
Oof. Rough game thread. Yay. Hard to watch the games from San Juan, PR but at least they’re playing Tom Cruise’s second best movie Legend at this surprisingly hip bar with great tostones. Tim Curry is something else.
Yuck.
aside for some clouds and showers, the weather is looking mighty nice there in san juan…
hmmmm, if Jack in Legend is number two – i’m gonna have to guess that Frank T.J. Mackey is numero uno…
Very much so. For him. I still watch color of money more than all of them. But it’s not the best movie of that Paul Newman amazingness.
The weather is beautiful. What a horrifying day.
I’m just happy the Sixers rallied for Donnie.
Yep. Very nice.
Thanks, guys. Nice to see Frank O rise from my ashes!
