I just hope that Doogie spends his non-knickerblogger time writing letters to Snak Club, Play Skool, Froot Loops, Kool Aid, and Fotomart telling them that their brand names don’t pass grammatical muster. (Off-season is a good time to remind them.)

    Downtown Doogie Brown says:

I’ve never written to any of those companies about that. In fact, I’m pretty sure that I’ve never written to any company about anything.

I’ve never heard of “Snak Club” or “Fotomart.” I’ve heard of “Fotomat,” but I think it’s defunct now. And I’m pretty sure that Playskool is one word—I don’t feel like looking any of these up.

KAT’s numbers seem better than Randle’s. Could be an interesting trade for us, as long as it’s one on one, although I think we’d miss Randle’s beast mode.

No way in hell they give us Towns for Randle straight up, just based on reputation alone. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t; I’m saying that they won’t. Go ahead and throw in Mitch, too. I’m good with it. I love Mitch, but the guy can’t help us from the bench.

Given how methodical and close to the ideal roster construction we were if iHart had stayed, I cannot see them blowing that up for a possible upgrade on talent/very very very questionable fit with a Randle + Mitch trade for Towns.

Depending how SL pans out, I could see Deuce as the trade chip that swings a Randle swap, a Randle + Mitch for a better Randle/worse (but healthier) Mitch swap, or just a decent Mitch back-up.

“Given how methodical and close to the ideal roster construction if iHart had stayed…….”

This still makes me sad. We almost really had it.

Esa-dog, there are first round picks and then there are first round picks. If the two picks were the protected Washington pick and the protected Detroit pick, the headline would be true, but it still wouldn’t be a great offer.

Funny, that was always E’s much-ridiculed point about the story where Toronto allegedly turned down three first round picks for OG.

We obviously offered the two fugazis for Kessler (we have no other firsts to offer), and now the story is out there that Utah turned down two first round picks. But really they turned down three seconds.

No way in hell they give us Towns for Randle straight up, just based on reputation alone

You never know, man. Memphis gave Boston Porzingis and two picks for Marcus Smart.

I like that we’re at least exploring the rip off market.

I’m not sure that KAT at the 5 is actually better defensively than Randle, though.

    Knox II: 20 min – 6-8 FGs – 4-4 FTs – 19 pts – 5 ast – 1 ast – 1 stl – 1 blk

    Rising superstar?

You never know, man. Memphis gave Boston Porzingis and two picks for Marcus Smart.

I don’t like the trade but please, but why make things up?

It was a 3-teams trade and Porzingis never was on Memphis roster.

    “June 23, 2023:
As part of a 3-team trade, traded by the Washington Wizards to the Boston Celtics; the Boston Celtics traded Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies; the Boston Celtics traded Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala and Julian Phillips to the Washington Wizards; the Memphis Grizzlies traded Marcus Sasser and a 2024 1st round draft pick (Bub Carrington was later selected) to the Boston Celtics; and the Memphis Grizzlies traded Tyus Jones to the Washington Wizards.”

Rumor has it that we’re in talks with Houston about Sengun as well. Is that true? And if so, who do we move for him? I imagine it would have to be a 3 teamer involving Mitch or Randle. I can’t see Randle and Sengun playing alongside each other in Thibs’ system. Is there a way we can use Randle in a 3 teamer instead, then just bring Achiuwa back as the starting paint defender- AND still keep Mitch? I’d love that. I’d also imagine that Sengun would have to sign his extension as well..

“Given how methodical and close to the ideal roster construction if iHart had stayed…….”

This still makes me sad. We almost really had it.

I’m with J-Hart (even though he was just kidding). He’s dead to me too.

He’ll eventually figure out that once you have x millions the incremental millions are virtually meaningless to your happiness, but winning a championship in NY makes you an NBA legend forever.

Even if he wins a title in OKC, it’s going to be as a backup and no one is going to remember that team or his role on it.

Now it’s on Leon and the coaches to find/develop an equal or better C for this team.

A lot of moves from this FO came out of the blue and caught the media by surprise.

Now all of a sudden, in a sleepy period with few news and a big need for clicks, according to pundits and beat writers we’re involved for Kessler (one 1st round pick, two 1st round picks, which kind of 1st round picks? crickets…), KAT (49M next year!), Duren, Sengun…

I understand they have a work to do but…

I’m not making up anything, Max. Perhaps you and Bob should get together and figure out how three-team trades work.

Poindexter, the rumor was a weird tweet by Marc Berman, retired former Knicks beat writer for the NYPost, and frequent provacateur during his active days on the beat. I would read very little into it.

I’m not making up anything, Max. Perhaps you and Bob can get together and figure out how three-team trades work.

Kristap Porzingis was never a Memphis Grizzlies, period, no matter how you try to spin it.

That’s a simple fact, not that you’re too interested in facts btw…

There does seem to be some ‘Houston is seeing what Sengun’s trade value would be’ chatter out there, I wouldn’t be surprised if we had some contact with the Rockets but I also doubt we have what they would want if they really want to move Sengun

Max, I already helped one child with his homework this morning. You can figure out how that trade breaks down on your own.

Max, I already helped one child with his homework this morning. You can figure out how that trade breaks down on your own.

Was it a self help group you were involved with?

Hubert are you saying Memphis acquired Porzingis and then decided it would be a better idea to trade him to Boston?

This is why I like reading Clarence and Doogie so much. Anything’s better than a “nitpick everything Hubert says and be a dick about it” thread.

LOL I was going to say something similar, and yet somehow still opposite. We have people chirping at each other already this morning, and I’m not even one of the participants this time.

“Anything’s better than a “nitpick everything Hubert says and be a dick about it” thread.”

I agree, Hubie. However, please note that you have almost 25% of the comments on this thread so far. It seems the lady doth protest too much (apologies to Clarence). This is my first comment, and nobody has been nitpicking me. And if you nitpick back at me, I’ll probably ignore it. There’s a lesson in there if you dig hard enough…

Jolly Roger, I wrote that before I read your question, so I wasn’t looping you into the “nitpick” category.

For you, sir, I’ll happily explain how the trade broke down and then carry on:

Part 1 – Memphis acquired Porzingis for Tyus Jones (leaving a salary gap of around $17MM)

Part 2 – Memphis traded Porzingis and two picks (ultimately Sasser and Carrington) to Boston for Marcus Smart.

Part 3 – Boston sent Gallo, Muscala, and Phillips to Washington to bridge the aforementioned salary gap, and paid them a 2nd round pick for the dead money

Bob and Max keep presenting a meaningless factoid as if it’s a smoking gun: Porzinigis was never on Memphis’ roster.

Nevertheless, it is clear when you break the trade down that the cost of Porzingis was settled two times: once between Memphis and Washington, and once again between Memphis and Boston.

I know, darules. If I corrected literally everything I saw on here that was incorrect, that’s all I’d be doing all day. 🙂

You never know, man. Memphis gave Boston Porzingis and two picks for Marcus Smart.

And Minnesota gave us Carmelo Anthony for Eddy Curry. Anything is possible!

If you want to think about what the Celtics gave for Porzingis you can’t look at what they gave to one of the teams in a three team deal. You have to look at what they gave and received overall. In this case, they sent out Smart, Gallinari, Muscala and the 35th pick in the 2024 draft. They got back Porzingis, the number 25 pick in the 2023 draft and a protected 2024 first round pick. So they actually traded three players and a pick for KP and two better picks.

Memphis actually got a reasonable deal. They sent out Tyus Jones and a late first rounder for Smart. Seems fair to me.

So looking at this it doesn’t match the description of Smart for KP and two picks.

But that said, Boston clearly got a good deal.

i feel so jilted, cheated maybe…

still out on the road, been staying away from news and what not…tuned in today to check in on the sentencing, cause you know – i’m a petty human who wishes grief upon some others…

well now, find out that our not so illustrious high/low court decided to rob me of my cheap thrill…

not fair, not fair at all…

Switching subjects (with the idea of tackling under the radar topics until we have SL games)…the Mo Cheeks move-in, and the Johnnie Bryant move-out. Think it is a negative in a vacuum, but sequence of why it happened–which we will never know (and I hope we do never know) is probably the key. Bryant sees Thibs is extending long-term, looks elsewhere (CLE), Leon realises his fallback will leave, hires Mo, thereby almost forcing Bryant to leave? In any event if Thibs departs early for whatever reason (performance, health), Mo gets the reins but cannot see him as the successor unless he pulls a Joe Torre (there are some similarities).

I’ve got lots of friends in San Jose
Do you know the way to San Jose?

KP had an opt-out clause. If Washington didn’t trade him somewhere he wanted to go, then he could have left for nothing.

KP had an opt-out clause. If Washington didn’t trade him somewhere he wanted to go, then he could have left for nothing.

But apparently he wanted to go to Memphis…

Working from the beach today. May the dialogue gods be kind. It’s been very John waters around here lately.

I don’t really understand what KP has to do with trading for Towns. The KP deal was nuts and Boston got him for pennies. That is not indicative of any future trades.

On top of that, Towns is more valuable than KP was and than KP currently is. Minnesota is not under any real pressure to trade him and he doesn’t have any of the same health issues or question marks.

Max beat me to the punch. The idea of us having an Obadiah Noel on the team is hilarious to me.

Beyond that, the most interesting thing is that Rokas is official, and that McCullar is on the roster even though he’s the only one of this year’s draft picks to not yet sign a contract. Though I suppose Rokas is also going to play without a contract, so…

ciao max, grazie for the list…as always i hope all is well for you 🙂

by chance do you know if it’s just rokas and kolek that will be the two ball handlers for the team?

Normally I recognize a name or two on the summer league roster outside of the guys we already knew about, but this is a real who’s who of basketball players I could be convinced don’t exist. I guess Justin Lewis vaguely rings a bell?

Alan, Rokas is still under contract with Barcelona (it was a 4 years deal), even if his position isn’t clear for next year.
If the Knicks want to sign him, there should be some kind of buyout agreement to discuss.

I think there’s some kind of basic agreement between european clubs and NBA teams to cover for injuries and other things during SL (for instance my Italian team has a player under contract who’ll play with the Heat SL squad).

Thanks, Max. So either McCullar is on the verge of signing (my guess is it’s a two-way), or he’s viewing the team as a tryout for a contract.

Geo, I think our old pal Duane Washington JR could be in the mix as a ball handler.

Also, in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament Rokas played a fair amount off the ball, so him and Kolek in the same lineup is a possibility.

P.S. I’m well thank you, readying myself for the end of my Dolomites month.
How are you? Are you in San Jose? Wandering up and down in California? 😉

Beyond that, the most interesting thing is that Rokas is official, and that McCullar is on the roster even though he’s the only one of this year’s draft picks to not yet sign a contract. Though I suppose Rokas is also going to play without a contract, so…

Yeah, I really don’t know how that works. Feels like McCullar should be under contract with us before he plays, but as you said it’s kind of the same for Rokas (both this time and last time).

Perhaps McCullar gets upgraded to a big league deal if he does well and gets the 2-way if he doesn’t, or maybe we just sign him in the next 48 or so hours and I remain perplexed.

thanks max…yes, very interested to see tyler and ariel play…fingers crossed in that they can both contribute this season…

look, i’m starting to get greedy now as a knicks fan – why can’t we have it all…

I’m very worried Kolek can’t hack it. He looks slow and struggled beating his man 1-on-1 in college. Hukporti is nice, but I don’t know that he’ll have the same telepathic chemistry Kolek had with Ighodaro.

Rokas has size and enough athleticism to use it, but he can’t really shoot well enough and that’s a death knell for most complementary players.

I like Hukporti way more than his draft position. No notes.

McCullar is another good pick. He’ll be excellent if he can stay on the court, which isn’t as promising as it sounds.

In Dadiet is the future, the way forward, the likely trade bait for Walker Kessler.

First pass already in at the library of congress so have at anyone I have good lawyers. 🙂

    “Pussssywylloe”

No; it’s still spelled incorrectly on purpose, albeit in different ways than you spelled it incorrectly on purpose both times yesterday. And yet somehow much more stupidly this time. LOL

“Working from the beach”? Doubtful. You clearly don’t work, because you spend too much time jetting around and going to bagel places. Maybe that’s just the weekend, but it doesn’t seem like it. 🙂

The last family *who* builds? Makes no sense again. Why am I surprised each time? 🙂

Is Obadiah Noel related to Stone Hands Noel?

EB because of the issues you mentioned, Kolek strikes me as a guy who would have been a reach at 24 but was a great pick at 34. The hope is that, like Brunson, he can make up for those things by winning the between the ears game and developing enough of a bag on both ends to make up for his athletic limitations. He is clearly more limited than Brunson was coming out of college, but he also doesn’t need to be Brunson to stick and help. I’m optimistic that he will figure something out, maybe not right away, but eventually.

Doogie, I might put the laptop down and go get a bj from a stranger in a bathroom stall. At my company our work breaks are designed to inspire.

    that’s so cool

creativity is no doubt one of our greatest gifts (hmmm, i wonder how HAL’s version would read?)…what would it be, to be “outwritten” by a bot…

so soon, androids will actually be dreaming…

to be able to conjure up worlds though, fill them with life and lives, purty neat stuff senor, purty neat indeed…

edit: what i really wanna know though – are you able to work sober?

you actually seem a bit like the sober sort…a no drugs/booze necessary sort of thing…

Not sure what’s going on at your place, but your husband might not appreciate your extracurricular exploits. And I’m using the word “extracurricular” as common parlance, not as the dictionary definition.

Zero clue what geo is on about.

So rare is it to find vitality between nemeses, an archrivalry so perfect that only destiny could spawn. Here we all are to serve as witnesses to the birth of exceeding aesthetic beauty and terrible psychic sublimity. After true love, there is nothing more pure than true animosity.

How could my husband possibly be thinking about my blowjob while he’s off fucking some gorgeous Adonis. Actually, mmmmm kinky. I want you to grow Doogie. There is a batterlfloi somewhere in you.

I hold no animosity at all towards anyone here. I just wish the Knicks would either re-sign Precious or somehow acquire another big man without giving up anyone but Randle and/or Mitch and/or picks. Whatever they’re working on, I just wish they’d do it already.

Sentencing for *what*, geo? As usual, the fuck you talking about?

i’ll spare ya doogie, ignorance is bliss in many things, and it’s not really related to wisdom at all…know what you know and be happy…

or – be miserably tormented by the knowledge of your circumstances and come here to fight and fuck with strangers on the internet…

    ha, that’s funny…

I have no idea what “batterlfloi” is, which I’m cool with, so I’m not looking it up. I feel safe in saying that I have none of it within me, though. Doesn’t sound like a great relationship to me at all (not to mention unhealthy, in the literal sense), but no judgment. If neither one of you cares about that stuff in your relationship, then I certainly don’t have anything to say about it beyond what I just wrote.

At least this has some theoretical roles 😉 :

“The roster includes New York’s first-round draft pick forward Pacome Dadiet and second-round picks guard Tyler Kolek, center Ariel Hukporti and guard Kevin McCullar.

Knicks’ two-way players forward Jacob Toppin and guard Duane Washington Jr. are also on the roster, which includes shooting guard Damion Baugh, point guard Devin Cannady, guard Samkelo Cele, guard/forward Alan Griffin, forward Kamani Johnson, point guard Rokas Jokubaitis, forward Amari Kelly, forward Justin Lewis, shooting guard Obadiah Noel, guard Alex O’Connell and center Dmytro Skapintsev.”

    https://sny.tv/articles/knicks-announce-2024-nba-sumer-league-roster

I’m looking forward to getting a look at mccullar, he seems more talented than most late 2nd round guys

“Is this four to one five pooosy way?”

Maybe in your world, but not in anyone else’s.

I’m betting McCullar gets first crack at stopping Brandon Miller. Jacob Toppin might get some minutes there too. It’ll be a good test.

Kolek doesn’t have a lot of burst and isn’t probably going to be blowing by lots of NBA defenders, but he can really orchestrate the pick and roll and throws accurate passes. Has great decision making ability and a good sense of where his teammates are on the court.

I think the speed of the NBA might bedevil him for the first few months of the season but he’s a smart player with good feel.

It can’t be that, as zip codes have five digits in them, or nine digits if one uses the full one. Yours only has three, so you have an error somewhere.

“ Now let me check the ZIP code. Two-one-two-fuck-you?”

I’m unsure as to why that might have been within quotation marks, and even more unsure as to why there is a space between the opening quotes and the first word. That’s very non-standard, and this time not on purpose.

Summer League can’t come fast enough this year, if only to give this blog some relief from SemanticsBlogger.

“When I consider how my light is spent,
Ere half my days in this dark world and wide,
And that one talent which is death to hide
Lodged with me useless, though my soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
    My true account, lest He returning chide;
“Doth God exact day-labor, light denied?”
I fondly ask. But Patience, to prevent
That murmur, soon replies, “God doth not need
Either man’s work or His own gifts. Who best
Bear His mild yoke, they serve Him best. His state
Is kingly: thousands at His bidding speed,
    And post o’er land and ocean without rest;
They also serve who only stand and wait.”

darules, I can assure you that you are as incorrect about that as you can be. I do thank you for your concern, however. 🙂

Bobby Marks wrote a nice piece about the best and worst deals of the summer:

    https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/40526411/2024-nba-free-agency-best-bargain-signings-head-scratching-overpays-contracts-deals-list

It’s behind a paywall, but I wanted to highlight the Jonas Valanciunas section bc that strikes me as an easy to trade for deal, and I imagine the Wizards signed him to flip him anyway.

The contract: Three years, $30.3 million, and the third season is non-guaranteed

We had Valanciunas ranked as the third-best free agent center, behind Nic Claxton and Isaiah Hartenstein. Claxton signed a four-year, $100 million contract in Brooklyn, meanwhile Hartenstein inked a three-year, $87 million deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Claxton re-signed with his current team and Oklahoma City took advantage of a two-year financial window to overpay Hartenstein. The contracts Claxton and Hartenstein signed should not discredit the value of Valanciunas and his play.

Valanciunas played all 82 games last season with the New Orleans Pelicans and ranked in the top 10 in total second-chance points in each of the past five seasons. In 2023-24, the Wizards ranked last in second-chance points per game allowed and 29th in paint points per game allowed.

Seems noteworthy that Jonas is an ironman.

Doogie I think Clarence is getting to you.

Sort of in the same way waterboarding can get to you…

Marks had OG Anunoby under the list of head-scratching deals, and I find his sober analysis to be spot on:

Before Knicks fans worry too much, re-signing Anunoby was a smart move. The Knicks were 20-3 with Anunoby in the regular season and the forward is one of the NBA’s elite defenders. He is also in the prime of his career, turning 27 on July 17.

Why the Anunoby contract is in the head-scratching section comes down to two issues: the 15% trade bonus and the fact that all five years of the contract are fully guaranteed. The Knicks could point to a contract that will age nicely, especially with the salary cap expected to increase 10% annually for the foreseeable future. The $42.5 million salary in Year 3 is below the maximum salary for a player with six years or less of experience. However, durability continues to be an issue with Anunoby, having played an average of 50 games the past four seasons.

Anunoby is not going anywhere soon, but the Knicks adding a trade bonus could be a hindrance in the near future. The bonus is currently $22 million, $10 million more than what Dejounte Murray received from the Atlanta Hawks in the trade to New Orleans.

In the words of the actual Clarence Beeks, with regard to this thread:

This is as far as we go. No more cockamamie cigar smoke. No more Swedish meatballs there, tootsie. And no more phony Irish whiskey. No more goddamn jerky beef! The party’s over.

Thanks, Max. Two inappropriates don’t make an appropriate.

Interesting only to you, possibly. I’m certainly not interested in ruminating on such machinations or conspiracy theories. LOL 🙂

Anunoby is not going anywhere soon, but the Knicks adding a trade bonus could be a hindrance in the near future.

I’m not getting the logic here. Clearly OG isn’t going anywhere soon (and there isn’t a reasonable scenario anyone can concoct where he would be traded in the next few ears), so then how can his trade bonus be a hindrance in the near future?

And the all years guaranteed…. this isn’t a Johathan Bender/ Greg Oden/ Amare/Allan Houston case where he has had repeated serious injuries to the same joint.

Now he has a litany of mostly minor injuries (save a 2017 ACL repair), but he is no more likely to be Allan Houston useless on the last 2 or 3 years of his contract than anyone else.

Used to be a couple of posters craving attention with non- mainstream bbl takes, defending them with condescension when actual debate would suffice. Now we have a couple of posters who do the same thing, more annoyingly, having nothing to do with Bbl, ruining the thread.

I’d be thrilled to write only about the Knicks and related basketball topics. There are a couple of posters who keep posting about other stuff (sometimes just nonsensical; other times borderline or fully inappropriate), though. If they wouldn’t do that, then there would be nothing to respond to. Of *course* I can choose not to respond, but doing so is completely up to me. You’re indirectly insinuating the wrong dude here. 🙂

Ouroboros or uroboros, maybe, but definitely not ouroborous.

    non- mainstream bbl takes

Oh! BBL = “basketball.” I was tripped up for a second lmao

No problem. I wasn’t planning on going to Sweden, anyway.

By the way, was that related to basketball?

The idea of us having an Obadiah Noel on the team is hilarious to me.

Thinking four foot vertical leap but can’t catch the ball.

Wait, come to think of it, Doogie is Clarence Beeks. I just got this bit of performance art that’s been playing out over the past few weeks here.

    Nenge Mboko: Merry New Year!

Clarence Beeks: That’s “happy.” In this country we say “Happy New Year.”

Nenge Mboko: ho, ho, thank you for correcting my English which stinks!

Pretty sure we’re stuck in an endless loop of 3-4 chatbots replying to each other

Ominous shit watching dozens of military helicopters cruise by the beach while we frocciagine.

    “Werk donnie”

I think you meant “work,” but really, who the hell knows?

By the way, was that related to basketball?

Were *any* of these related to basketball?

Leon, re-sign Precious already, before some other team does.

    *That’s* related to basketball.

I have no idea who any of these other dudes are on our summer league team, just as much as I have no idea what happened on this thread. I enjoy the cinematic parallel.

Hey Brian, how about an off-season poll question:

If you could only ban one member of this community, who would it be?

    a) Donnie Walsh
    b) Doogie
    c) Clarence
    d) Pagliacci (again)
    e) E
    f) ptmilo
    g) Z-Man
    h) Cronin
    i) Hubert
    j) strat
    k) Face Humper
    l) Mike K
    m) the honorable cock jowles
    n) Alan
    o) raven
    p) djphan…
    q) Dred
    r) JK
    s) Owen
    t) alecto
    u) Bob (again)

    w) early bird
    x) pepper
    y) Max
    z) Ted Nelson (again)

Lotta Knicks hats on the beach today. I’m trending.

Was Breanna Stewart one of them?

On a different topic, how about those Mets? Left for dead a few weeks ago (including by me) and now tied for a wild card spot. Heroes abound, but the current man of the hour is Brandon Nimmo. Dude is just raking!

Spotted like 7 girl gurls and they was like wassup and I was like wassup. I’m down with the girls.

Was Dolan who nixed his trade many years ago or was someone else?

Lowry hated the Knicks after that.

Lowry is pretty old now so I’m fine with him not coming here. Honestly, I’m kinda excited to see that spot filled by a kid.

Seems like the Clippers were the other team Lowry was considering.

The Clippers are kinda fucked, btw. And the underreported impact of PG leaving LA is the strong possibility that they are going to be sending top ten picks to OKC & Philadelphia for years.

Any year they can get reasonably healthy seasons from Kawhi & Harden will be fine but honestly how many of those should we expect? One?

    Here’s their pick debt… all unprotected…

    2025 – OKC swap
    2026 – to OKC
    2027 – OKC swap
    2028 – to PHI
    2029 – PHI swap

I notice McCullar is the only one wearing a jacket and tie in the pictorial roster that was posted. Maybe he can get coaching from Clyde.

Washington and Toppin playing may be a favor to them. They may not make the team and Summer League is an opportunity for scouts from other leagues to notice you.

Samkelo Cele plays in South Africa in a league there. He became an all star for that league this year and is noted for his defense.

Also, a recent tweet says Kawhi is retiring. Any truth to that?

    Brian,

If I shall receive thine hammer, ban
Only this Cock Jowles, that stupid young man.
Not quick-witted Alecto, that Fury scorned
By deniers of second-apron’s cruel thorn.
    Swing not that hammer at a kind Humper’s face;
But Jim Dolan’s threadbare trophy case.
And while you’re there, smash his AI-camera hell
That leaves Penn Station with its distinct coward’s smell.
Not JK, Donnie, milo, not even strat.
Z-man’s just cranky; Hubie, a mere prat.
But if you must swing it elsewhere, and not just a bunt:
Save all your strength for bobneptune, the cunt.

And finally, if you have a VPN service you can connect to an Asian server and then ESPN does not have a paywall

Washington and Toppin playing may be a favor to them. They may not make the team and Summer League is an opportunity for scouts from other leagues to notice you.

They made Toppin a RFA, presumably they want to bring him back on a 2-way.

Duane probably gets relegated to the g-league, I’m guessing McCullar ends up taking the final 2-way spot alongside Hukporti and Toppin.

Toppin and Hukporti are already signed to two-way deals. So that leaves one of those spots open. So either McCullar gets a 2nd round exception deal with the big club, or he gets the final two-way spot.

Maybe they’re waiting on signing McCullar in order to see if Rokas is worth bringing over. If he is, you probably need to give him a roster spot to make it financially worthwhile for Rokas. If Rokas sucks, then you give McCullar the final roster spot.

    (I’m assuming Precious & a MLE take up spots 13 & 14)

EB, Leon also likes to leave the 15th spot empty to facilitate trades later on.

But also, shouldn’t our roster math factor in the triumphant return of Archie?

I didn’t know Toppin was signed to a two way. By my count, The Knicks have thirteen signed players and two signed two-way players. I suspect they will leave a roster spot open until the end of preseason. They’ve done that in the past. I suspect they want to give the incentive of a possible contract to participants who aren’t on the roster yet. But they could still sign a player after Summer League and have an open roster spot left for preseason

    I’m assuming Precious & a MLE take up spots 13 & 14

Who is even left to use the MLE on? Lowry & Reed were the only two guys that could have been worth it. I’d rather save it for the buyout market at this point.

I still like Dennis Smith Jr (we really need someone on the bench who can defend point guards) but he’s more of a vet min guy.

Hubert, because we’re over the first apron with the new CBA, we’re limited in what kinds of buyout players we can sign. So the MLE might not be hugely useful to us after the deadline.

The limit is pretty high, though (12.8MM).

Is there anyone out there right now you want to pay more than the vet min?

Side note: I’m with Doogie on Precious. Let’s get that shit done before he becomes another unforced error.

Remember you can use the MLE to trade people into instead of using it on a free agent.

The suddenly gear-shift is welcome, though I can totally spend the summer with The Honorable Cock Wadsworth if need be.

starting to miss home…having fun, but starting to miss home…

just checked the weather back home – a current AQI of 206…i think that is the highest number i have ever seen…

flipping newark new jersey is sitting at an AQI of 61…

for some reason there seems to be an issue with the ozone layer above the area where i live…

At least the Knicks don’t need to martyr the capo right now. Yeesh.

yeah man. living in the “inland empire” – after coming from the empire state i find the name of the region to be a bit overstated…

big town close to me is san bernardino, which is in need of a huge face-lift…

town i’m in has lots of trees (relatively speaking) and is at the base of a mountain…pretty place for the region…

i thought the occasionally dreadful/harmful air quality was related to being so close to I-10 and I-15 (2 huge freeways out this way) – but, the issue seems to be high in the sky (ozone depletion in the stratosphere)…

nice job checking in from the beach today…i need to get myself and the boys to the beach soon…

unfortunately, there’s like 15 million people in between the house and the beach, only about 70 miles or so, just a lot of humanity in the way…

need to put my big boy drawers on though and make the drive next week…

Good clean conversation today. I like it.

Disappointed I didn’t make the “who to ban” poll, will have to work on offending people more this year

Remember you can use the MLE to trade people into instead of using it on a free agent

No, that’s only the non taxpayer MLE. We can’t do that with the taxpayer exception.

Can I add that I don’t like that I’ve somehow become the resident expert on the new CBA?

I need to start posting more often again so I can make the who to ban poll.

I liked LA for the ten years I was there. Your areas great. One of my best friends from West Covina her parents place has a great pool 🙂

There’s something dope about how much nicer people give themselves license to be at the beach.

Also when’s you’ve played beach paddle with your life partner on beaches around the world for twenty years it’s like the fucking best.

Good way to make sure you’re n’sync

I can’t believe I made the who to ban poll—with my original screen name no less! I’d like to thank the academy. And my parents—for leaving me unattended at the computer for long hours.

Also not worried about AI. It’s good for spell check. Only write about shit I’ve lived through so far.

Also if you sauté cherry tomatoes with raw Al hanout and salt on medium for like 20 minutes in olive oil it’s homemade ketchup for you got home too late dinner hotdog on sourdough.

Can I add that I don’t like that I’ve somehow become the resident expert on the new CBA?

get a life….like write another book or something…

116 here in phx today…brutal…tomorrow supposed to be the hottest july 12th temp on record…

sounds like a good day to stay inside and prep for the first summer league game 🙂

any upcoming shows on the horizon?

got a ticket to go see penn and teller this fall, no music shows though on the schedule…

I got Def Leppard in Aug…Priest and Maiden a week apart in Oct..los lobos sometime in September on a lighter note…

I almost feel dirty saying it here, but I’m thinking of hopping over to check out the Sphere while John Mayer is in residency with the Dead and Co.
