If I’m not wrong, post trade Brunson has a top 10 assist rate in the league. He’s passing plenty.

Dominating the ball “too much” can get you both a lot of points and assists. That does not mean you are passing well or enough. It also doesn’t mean you are maximizing the team level offense.

Dominating the ball too much is not a good thing.

It’s too easy for a solid defense to stop and the offense will fall apart when that player is not on the court.

DRed, I agree that Bruce Brown’s comments are probably over the line. I wonder if he’ll be fined…probably should be, but probably won’t be. If I were Masai and Darko, I’d be pissed.

So Mark Stein is reporting that the Knicks are interested in Brogdan. Again, I wonder if all the other trade chatter is to impress upon the Blazers that they are not desperate as a way of keeping the price down. I doubt that Cronin falls for it. (meaning Joe, not Brian).

The DDV article is interesting, I had mentioned recently that playing for the Warriors might have unlocked some things for Donte…and I love the 1,000 shots a day story. It’s great to hear about another immortal who has more talent than virtually anyone else but still works tirelessly on his game. It sometimes seems to me that the media-driven narrative suggests that only Kobe had a work ethic.

I have mixed feelings about Bruce Brown. He’s probably a useful player. He was just signed to a significant contract last year suggesting others share that opinion. But I’m worried the price will be too steep. I don’t want to give up Grimes. Then we lose bench scoring at the same time we gain more expensive bench scoring. But that leaves a deal like Fournier plus picks for him. And I don’t think Toronto will go for that unless the picks involved are too rich for my taste.

Obviously this is true, but it is not always about the player or the coach. This team desperately needs for Brunson to dominate the ball. This isn’t the Parker-Manu-Kawhi-Duncan Spurs or the Bird-Parish-McHale-Johnson Celtics or the current Nuggets or Celtics.

On this team, if Brunson passes more than he does with the players that he shares the floor with, you are probably going to have a decrease in offensive efficiency.

“He was just signed to a significant contract last year suggesting others share that opinion.”

My recollection is that folks felt that it was a significant overpay, at least until it became apparent that the second year was a team option. So “others” may have been limited to the Pacers.

The Brown contract was, the way I see it, about Indiana having cap room to use this season and making a godfather offer to make sure Denver couldn’t come close to matching it. It wasn’t as much about his real value. There certainly were other teams interested at a lower value.

But when it comes to our situation, it’s a pretty good contract to have considering he could be easily included as salary for an outgoing trade.

Yeah, you clearly pay more per year for what’s basically a one year commitment, but even if he got half that it’s still what you pay for a useful player. He did play against us, so he’s not unused by the raptors. I think he has more value than Fournier

Contractually, Brown makes a lot of sense. In terms of filling a need on the court, much less so.

if you are still up, i have a question for you hubie…

if you could revisit a location – where would that be?

if you could visit a new to you location – where would that be?

    Fascinating question, Geo.

The place I would revisit is a little stone village in the northwest part of Mallorca called Pollenca.

The new location would be somewhere in Asia. I’m not particularly picky, as I’ve never been anywhere there, but I would probably choose northern Japan or one of the more remote, mountainous regions of China.

    Y tu?

The Buster Douglas fight is still the most memorable sporting event of my lifetime. Second place for me is the Bill Buckner game, which I saw the end of on a school trip when I was 14.

Man, that Buster Douglas fight is such a thing for anyone who was old enough to remember. The irony is I never saw it, and I bet a million people who “remember” it didn’t, either.

What I remember is staying up to watch WWF’s Saturday Night Main Event a week later. Mike Tyson was scheduled to host because no one thought he would lose. Then they had to weirdly can him and bring Buster on instead.

I remember the Buckner thing but only from watching the Mets World Series VHS tape.

My first vivid sports memory, coincidentally, is the Giants game that preceded wide right, when they beat the 49ers in San Francisco (which, frankly, was kind of miraculous, and perhaps even more unlikely than when they beat the 18-0 Pats).

CBA question(s): Since Brown was traded, is the only restriction on being traded again this season that he must be traded as the only outgoing player? And if he is traded again, can he be traded a 3rd time this season?

I was at both the 96 World series clincher and the Mr. November game in 2001. Both times, it felt like the stadium was going to shake itself apart.

A business associate gave me 2 tickets to see the Tyson-Spinks fight on closed circuit at MSG. Very good seats right in front of the big screen

My friend and I were barely into our first beers and it was over. Glad I didn’t actually pay for the tix!

CBA question(s): Since Brown was traded, is the only restriction on being traded again this season that he must be traded as the only outgoing player? And if he is traded again, can he be traded a 3rd time this season?

He can’t be traded back to the Pacers.

I believe another player can be traded with him as long as the other player is headed to a different team.

This team desperately needs for Brunson to dominate the ball.

At times yes, especially now off the bench, but the whole point of player and ball movement is getting easier shots for guys like Grimes, Hart, DDV, our Cs etc.. without one player (or in our case two) dominating the ball.

RJ was asked about the offense in Toronto and why he was doing well so far. He said he was getting different shots because there was more ball movement in Toronto.

All that ball movement on Saturday for Toronto got them a whopping 100 pts while the Knicks put up 126…

Was lucky enough to be at MSG on 5/8/1970, aka the Willis Reed game. Also at the Giants’ Superbowl win vs. Denver on 1/1987.
For sheer happiness and emotion, the Knicks win will forever be etched in my soul. ( also remember watching away games in ’70 on black and white TV. To paraphrase Jowles….I’m ” fucking old”)

First sports memory I remember as a little kid is attending the 1985 Yankees home opener, Don Baylor hit a walk off HR. As we were leaving an usher gave me a foul ball, I still have that ball to this day.

I was at both the 96 World series clincher and the Mr. November game in 2001. Both times, it felt like the stadium was going to shake itself apart.

Nice. I was in the Fordham class of ‘99, so I got to see those teams a ton. It was 5 stops away on the 4 train and bleacher seats were $6.

Unfortunately the whole “being broke” thing prevented me from being present at some of the bigger moments.

I saw Girardi’s triple in my dorm room and I’m pretty sure I could feel the stadium shaking there.

I went to the game after Bonds broke Aaron’s record… he technically broke the all-time HR record that game too. Ball went right over our heads into the Bay.

Went to some great games against the As in the playoffs back in the day, too young to remember much other than booing Johnny Damon and Terrence Long, in different years, from the bleachers. Jeter flipped over the barrier and into the stands in one, I believe it’s the same series as his ball flip to home plate but different game.

Unfortunately I’ve lived in Miami since 1990 so haven’t attended many cool moments, I didn’t go to any of the Knicks Heat playoff games from 1997-2000 or the 2003 World Series. Most important game I attended would have to be the last game of Joe Montana’s career, it was a loss to the Dolphins in a Wild Card playoff game. I did also go the Dolphins opener that season which was the famous Marino Bledsoe duel.

My earliest sports memory is watching the 1983 NCAA tournament with my dad. He went to UNC and worked with Dean Smith and was obviously a huge Tar Heel fan. So my favorite team was, naturally, Virginia, because I was a bratty little 7 year old fuckface. When Ralph Sampson’s would-be game winning shot was waved off for coming after the buzzer, I cried my eyes out.

Looking back, I felt that my dad may have been a lot more patient and non-judgmental than I am as a parent. But now I understand better the old ACC hierarchy of evil and that Sampson game was against NC State, so maybe my dad was crying a bit on the inside himself.

In terms of the Knicks my first memory of them is seeing Larry Bird missing a 3pter at the buzzer of Game 3 in the 1990 playoffs. Subsequently I will never forget Ewing hitting his crazy 3pter to ice Game 5 at Boston to win the series.

Some of my favorite sports memories, going to my first Yankees game in 1988 with my Dad and Grandfather. I got a chance to see some great players: Mattingly, Rickey Henderson, Dave Winfield, Tommy John, Willies Randolph, and for KC George Brett, Bo Jackson. It was amazing then, and looking back on it, wow, some legends. Also more recently, going to Hayward Field at the University of Oregon, and getting to run on it during my visit was amazing.

I’m from TN. Been to plenty of Knicks games when I lived in NYC but nothing iconic although I did see that game where Curry scored like 50 something points but we beat Golden State during the 54 win season. That was a crazy game.

Probably most iconic sports moment I’ve ever attended was the “Music City Miracle) in 2000 when the Tennessee Titans beat the Buffalo Bills on a full 100 yard kick off return at the end of the game. It was freezing cold and raining off and on all game and an absolutely miserable game to experience in person. Pretty boring game until that very last play. Most of the stadium was walking out when it happened. We were on the stairs walking down when it happened and then the whole place went insane. Titans went on to get like two inches away from winning the superbowl that year. I remember thinking they were about to have a dynasty and then the Ravens beat them next year, Eddie George got hurt and Steve McNair a few years later was murdered by his mistress.

My very first basketball game/Knicks game was in 96’. Bulls v Knicks. Jordan and the Bulls, in the midst of their 72 win season, get blown out by the Knicks. J.R. Reid had just come aboard. We got the t-shirts. It was a great day.

I caught some Yankees/Royals games as a wee lad, too. I sat behind the visitor’s dugout once and got a baseball from Frank White. Pretty sure my dad still has it.

I was allegedly at some historic Bernard King games with my dad, too, but I just remember playing with my GoBots (offbrand Transformers made by Tonka).

The first Knicks team that I was really into and old enough to understand what was going on was the 91-92 team.

    Favorite MSG moments

    – 1984 – Bernard King single handedly destroying the Celtics in the playoffs with 43 points after the famous Cornbread Maxwell ‘the bitch ain’t gettin’ 40 on me” comment.

    – 1999 – Larry Johnson’s 4 point play vs the Pacers, still the loudest I’ve ever heard the Garden

I just remember playing with my GoBots (offbrand Transformers made by Tonka).

GoBots are the Hydrox of transforming robots, technically came first but everybody assumes they’re the knockoff.

But with a name worthy of a Guinness Book entry in generic-ness, what did they expect?

I saw Girardi’s triple in my dorm room and I’m pretty sure I could feel the stadium shaking there.

That was the moment, even more than Charlie Hayes making the final out, Boggs riding around on horseback, etc. Maddux had seemed unhittable, and for freaking Joltin’ Joe Girardi-o to hit a triple off him was the moment where everyone in that place knew the Yankees were going to win the game, and the Series. It was like dam bursting after holding off water for a couple of decades. I was in the loge (same for Mr. November), and I felt both elated and a little scared, based on how much that level was shaking.

Oh, and my favorite part of the Mr. November game: I eventually make my way to the D train to begin the long trip back to Hoboken. Everyone in the subway car is almost too stunned to speak. We’re all just looking at each other, like we can’t believe that just happened. Finally, one guy says, “It’s not fair, you know. Like Jeter doesn’t get laid enough already.” And the whole car exploded with laughter.

(And this was years before the gift baskets and the sex butler stuff came to light.)

My in person Knicks moment of note was the Charles Smith game. Still haven’t recovered.

My favorite toy growing up was He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! I also had a ton of Star Wars toys plus some Thundercats, Voltron and Transformers.

The Charles Smith game was my first heartbreaking moment as a fan. My mom got mad at me cause I was hysterically pissed after the game lol

Most memorable knick games I saw in person:

    1) Larry Johnson 4-point play
    2) Allan Houston’s 55 point game (in LA)
    3) Game 4 of 1995 NBA finals
    4) Game 3 of 1989 playoffs (where the Knicks took brooms and attempted 1st grade level performance symbolism)
    5) Game 5 of 1999 NBA finals (watching the other team celebrate a championship at MSG was a weird and rather eerie feeling)
    6) Reggie Miller’s last game at MSG where I stood on a chair and gave him a standing ovation (what!?!).
    7) the game in 1996 where the Knicks beat the Bulls by 30 points. Memorable because I was expecting a loss, of course, and got a rare treat.

Actually what am I thinking. Probably biggest Knicks game I ever saw was one of the Linsanity games—the first one where he started against Utah when Melo got hurt in the first few minutes of the game. That was an insane experience because he had that comeback against The Nets but that was all in the 2nd half and this was his first start. Little did we know.

My childhood memories are all obviously more soccer focused, the fondest were certainly watching my favorite team (São Paulo) beat Barcelona and Milan in back to back world club championships in 92 and 93, and watching São Paulo win the Libertadores in our home stadium in 2005 with 67.000 people there, unforgettable moment.

That definitely compensated for the fact that I chose to be a Knicks fan while watching them lose in the playoffs every year during the Ewing era, but it still felt better than all my cousins and brother who were just bandwagon Michael Jordan fans at the time.

Jalen Brunson has a .595 TS% on the season, and it’s even higher post-trade. I don’t think he should shoot less because some people have an aesthetic preference for him to do so, but YMMV.

Brown is a solid player, but the Pacers overpaid him because he took an extremely team friendly deal outside of the AAV i.e. a 1+1 with a team-option, making his contract basically perfect for executing a trade for someone who makes a similar amount of money like, say, Pascal Siakam.

My guess is the Knicks want him more for that reason than any basketball reasons, because the basketball fit is pretty iffy. They probably see him as an upgrade over Deuce who we can keep as potential matching salary through 2025, without all the ugliness associated with doing the same thing to Fournier (plus Brown makes more money than Fournier, making his contract better for star-trade purposes).

That’s all good and well, but if we’re essentially trading for…a contract structure, there should be a pretty hard cap on what we’re willing to pay.

Bruce Brown is a guy id like to have, but he’s not a guy we need to have the way OG was a guy we needed to fix our defense.

Hart’s foot is still bothering him, I’d keep him out against Brooklyn and then just take an L against Jokic.

thanks for following up hubie 😊

    Mallorca sounds and looks amazing…

last time i left the country was 2000, visited this small town on the coast (puerto escondido) in mexico…

it was beautiful, picturesque…i was fairly sick at the time though and couldn’t get around too easily…

it was also when some random doctor approached me at the pool and diagnosed me on the spot…that was a crazy blessing that day…

started looking at tours to japan…i’ve always had a fascination for samurai, ninja, and the shinto temple stuff…

probably a romantization on my part, but i imagine the culture to be one where i would fit in…

    i like social protocols…

wondering now though how stressful immersing myself in a place where i can not read, write or speak the language might be to me…

the other spot on my mind is somewhere around the mediterranean…

ha, i went to the 55 point game in LA also…

    i can’t remember any recent sporting events i’ve attended…not for many years…

i do though remember though going to the Dodgers game once and doing a bunch of coke in the parking lot…

trying to sit and watch baseball while wired on some coke was not a wise choice…it was unpleasant…

“Tom Thibodeau said after practice today that Isaiah Hartenstein’s left foot/ankle is sore and Knicks will see how he feels tomorrow before determining his status for Knicks-Nets on Tuesday night”

I was never to any Knick game of historical value. A Classmate of mine I barely knew in high school (1972?)did invite me to a Knicks-Wizards (then Bullets) playoff game. The Knicks did not play well and lost the game. My parents and I could not reciprocate in basketball tickets so my father purchased 2 tickets to the National Indoor Track and Field championships. It was poorly attended so we were able to migrate from the cheap seats down to the front row seats. We saw a world record set in the pole vault. My new found friend was not into Track but thoroughly enjoyed the record setting performance. In podiatric medical school I did see Pete Rose set/extend his national league hit streak against the Cubs at Riverfront Stadium.

I’ve had horrible luck with Knicks Heat games I’ve attended. Only time I saw the Knicks win down here was when Don Nelson was coaching! Most brutal game was an OT loss during the 1999 regular season. Houston hit a shot to tie the game and Zo somehow missed a layup at the buzzer. Unfortunately in OT down 1 pt Ewing missed a shot at the buzzer. It was during that stretch in the regular season where the Knicks lost a few games by 1 pt.

Last year I didn’t go to the Randle game winner but went to the only regular season loss and also attended the ass whooping in Game 3.

My greatest in person sports experience (and one of my greatest as a dad) was going to the Villanova-NC finals game in Houston in 2016 with my son, who’s a Nova grad (and also a huge Knicks fan) We were sitting among a sea of blue NC fans and were pretty respectful throughout, but when Jenkins hit the 3 pointer to win it we went absolutely nuts while all the fans around us sat in their seats in shock

Then we went bar hopping with a bunch of his friends and watched the Jenkins shot over and over and went crazy every time.

    Trip of a lifetime…(-:

there’s a well-documented decline in teams’ quality of play in back-to-backs or travel-heavy stretches, especially in first quarters

From the most recent Hollinger article reviewing the NBA’s totally fair and real study on load management not working. Not the point of the article but relevant to the Knicks’ current season.

The article is also (in an unrelated segment) about the surging Cavs & Knicks who Hollinger predicts will finish 4 and 5 again. He views them as the sleepers in the East. Nothing on the Knicks that we don’t already know, actually might be less well informed than what we know.

I went to David Cone’s perfect game against the Expos in 1999 at the tender age of six and a half. My dad got mad at me for reading Harry Potter. He told me to watch the game. I replied that “no one was hitting anything, it’s boring.” And he replied, in exasperation, “that’s the point!”

Other than that, not too many: I was in a bar in Chapel Hill, NC watching my alma mater stage an improbable comeback against Villanova only to lose to Kris Jenkins at the buzzer. Brutal experience. To this day I have very mixed feelings about the Nova boys.

Recently, I was at the Knicks Heat IST game where we came back down 20+. That was one of the best basketball games I’ve been to.

-went to Patrick Ewing first game as a Knick at home
    -Trent Tucker MLK day game
    -many Knicks 1990s playoff games
    -Giants NFC championship game
    -Aaron Boone walk off game
    -2009 Yankees WS clincher
-had my dad buy FAKE scalp tix to Knicks Rockets game 5 ‘94 and burn $600
-final game ever (pre season) at the Great Western Forum courtside sat next to Anthony Kiedis

And more. Been to some fun shit but I’d trade it all to watch the Knicks win a title on tv w my 11 year old son.

Seattle Slew vs. Affirmed the first time two Triple Crown horses ever met on the racetrack.

Spectacular Bid walkover at Belmont- He was so good as a 4 year old, everyone refused to run against him. So he ran around the track easily by himself as the winner. Even in a jog he put up a very fast time.

American Pharoah – first Triple Crown winner in decades.

    Best Yankee games:

    1) Game 5 of the 2000 World Series at Shea Stadium (my earliest sports memory)
    2) Jeter’s record-breaking hit at the old Yankee Stadium
    3) the last game at the old stadium
    4) Game 6 of the 2009 World Series
    5) Game 5 of the 2019 ALCS

A few other cool ones like A-Rod’s 3,000th hit, one of the Raul Ibanez games in the 2012 ALCS, and every time I’ve ever seen Judge put a ball into orbit, but those are the real highlights.

    Best Knicks games…slimmer pickings:

    1) An unknown game in 1999 in which my now deceased grandfather bought me a Marcus Camby jersey I still have (he also got me the penguin)
    2) The game against the Celtics in 2010 in which Amar’e hit what looked like a game-winning 3 that was called off
    3) This 2013 game against OKC
    4) Game 1 against the Hawks in 2021 (amazing atmosphere result aside)
    5) Game 4 against the Cavs last year

Jalen Brunson has a .595 TS% on the season, and it’s even higher post-trade. I don’t think he should shoot less because some people have an aesthetic preference for him to do so, but YMMV.

It has almost ZERO to do with aesthetic preference or Brunson’s own TS%. If it was that simple, we could just look at Basketball Reference and make I-Hart shoot 30 shots. 😉

It has to do with the shot quality and TS% of guys like Grimes, J-Hart, Mitch, I-Hart, OG and even RJ when he was here. The more movement, the better the chances of one of those other guys getting an even better look than Brunson taking a tough one after dribbling around for 15 seconds or Randle dribbling into a double team and turning it over.

What you are trying to do is get more balanced production and overall better team TS%.

All that ball movement on Saturday for Toronto got them a whopping 100 pts while the Knicks put up 126…

As I’ve said, Toronto was missing their starting C, just traded away their best player for mostly picks and are currently in reset mode. Also, all the movement in the world won’t make a bad team good. It will just make them less bad.

I’ll never forget being at the colosseum when Aeolus came from four lengths back to beat Novinius. Place went freaking crazy. The vomitorium was packed afterward. Then it was a real bummer when we heard that he had sabotaged Novinius’ chariot by getting some Zoroastrian to curse him…

Player movement is not something you can necessarily teach a player to do. You didn’t mention DDV because he’s actually shooting incredible, well watch him he is constantly moving and is actually capable of dribbling and make decisions off of it. OG is another player that always is moving and setting screens for other players.

That isn’t what RJ wants to do, Grimes is another player that I’ve mentioned before should learn from watching DDV. Hart is very good off the ball and cutting, his problem is the reluctance to shoot 3pters.

Heck even Brunson, watch him when Randle has the ball, he’ll relocate at the 3pt line to give Randle a better passing angle. If you think the offense is just let Brunson and Randle ISO while the other 3 guys all stand in one spot we’re not watching the same games.

What you are trying to do is get more balanced production and overall better team TS%.

So what do you make of the Knicks’ 127 offensive rating with Brunson on the floor since the trade?

Sorry man, you are barking up a tree that is simply not there. Post-trade Brunson is one of the best players in the sport.

    yankee games –

1 the Jim Abbott no hitter
2 the Chad Curtis walk off to beat the braves in the world series (we were going to leave and got to street level and i turned around as i had a feeling something was going to happen)
3 game 2 against San Diego in the series….it was like a fait accomplis (cue doogie for correction) after game 1 but i was down at field level before the game watching one of my atf’s el duque “warm up” and never saw an arm that amazing before

    knicks
    1. i was like 7 or 8 and we had just moved from NYC to Phx in ’74 or 75 and back then there was no security…i walked down to the knick locker room and Jesse Dark signed his picture for me in the game program (seeing clyde was awesome as well)
2 when my uncle was working on some of the players during the pitino era…he took me up to Suny purchase and i was in the locker room after practice…Sydney Green scowled at me…scared me a bit
3 same time period….Rick Pitino left seats for me and some buddies when they were up in the bay area…we sat right behind the knick bench…players really appreciated us cheering them on…

probably my best live experience was being at the jets-chargers divisional game in san diego in 2010….by myself in the nosebleeds..when shonn greene ripped of that run it was dead quiet…except for me…thought we were going to the super bowl…..

my best sports bar experience…i was in dublin during the world cup in 94…italy vs ireland….jack charlton’s boys got the upset W…it was crazy..Guinness was flowing…

Hart’s foot is still bothering him, I’d keep him out against Brooklyn and then just take an L against Jokic.

Meanwhile Thibs is thinking cortisone shot and 40+ minutes.

I’ve been reading lately alot more Brogdon trade rumors to the Knicks, just seems to make perfect sense.

OG should be guarding Jokic anyway, let iHart (or whoever plays C) guard Aaron Gordon’s non-shooting ass.

Hart’s foot is still bothering him

Maybe I am too sensitive about Knick injury things but he left the game with an ankle injury and now has a sore foot.

Sounds a lot cooler than the time I watched Achilles try to catch a tortoise, took forever

I’m still bummed I has to miss Patroclus’ funeral games bc Agamemnon had me on guard duty.

that was an intense story doc bob…

you have seemingly pushed your body waaaaay past some fairly steadfast limits for almost all the rest of us…

visualizing the breathing, rhythmic body movement – long long time alone…on a road, in the woods, along the coast, where ever…

i figure pain and negative intrusive thoughts must be a part of all that…it must…runners’ high aside, bones/ligaments/muscles/tendons
exist and break down…plus, all that time alone, involved in an activity that requires hours and hours of time…

seems endurance athletics require a unique type of control over yourself…

it does look a bit like slow torture there doc bob 🙃

you got me thinking now doc bob…

1990 was the year i first started falling out of runs…thankfully i was on battalion staff at the time, but totally humiliating…west point officer at the back of the formation falling out of runs, what the fuck is wrong with me…that is not as bad as it can can get…it’s not good though…started getting pudgy then too, just thought it was from all the beer i was drinking…

i was confused, started going to the clinic because i had heart palpitations…i didn’t know about the bad thyroid or anxiety at the time…

after that assignment i was in charge of a staff company at the defense language institute in monterey, that meant i was in charge of fitness monitoring, after that went to a training course at ft sill oklahoma, senior officer for the class, so i was in charge of fitness monitoring, after that i went to pittsburgh and was the admin officer for the battalion – and in charge of monitoring fitness 🙂

five years i controlled my own fitness records, not a usual thing…not surprisingly my fitness data was within acceptable parameters the whole time…a lot of help from diuretics, amino acid supplements and friends who were actually administering the tests…

i was aware a bad thryoid could provide an exception to fitness standards, never connected with myself though…

being able to run is a great thing…

I’m late to this, but…I don’t think I’ve ever jumped out of my seat higher than when Jeremy Lin hit the game winning three in Toronto. Watching it on Youtube still gives me chills.

The Heat appears to be trying to get rid of Kyle Lowry… if he wasn’t completely 100% washed he would fit us like a glove, but sadly he’s probably just unplayable right now.

You know, sometimes ESPN articles are insulting. The one below talks about what contenders need for their stretch run. They include the Lakers as a contender (currently 9th and playing 0.500 ball overall), but not the Knicks as a contender. I suspect Cleveland and Dallas fans could also feel insulted. I think mostly I’m ticked off by the amount of attention the Lakers get, when they are basically an aging, middling team in the Western Conference.

Getting Lowry could turn like getting Kemba. I really don’t want a replay.

Lakers have the biggest star in the league

They are the biggest brand in the league as well

The League is a business.. I don’t like it either but thats just how things go

Great stories today… Cleveland looks much better without Garland and Mobley, I wonder what they’re going to do when those two return…

shouldn’t be looking, but rj & quick both at -20.

also; how long before durant looks to get out of phoenix?

KAT has 50 when the Wolves have 77 points total, another what the hell is going on.

cleveland has 2 games coming up against milwaukee, both in milwaukee for some reason…after that the clippers at home…

hope they can slow them up a bit…

that really would be something else if we finished in the same spots as last season and met cleveland in the first round again…

    mitch better get better…

“Getting Lowry could turn like getting Kemba. I really don’t want a replay.”

That’s impossible because Kemba was not an expiring contract…we had to use an asset to dump him. I also think that Lowry would figure out a way to be at least marginally effective on both ends in 10-15 mpg. But in any case, not a good idea for several reasons.

I know some of you think 58 points on 26 shots in 29 minutes is good, but KAT has 6 turnovers so he sucks.

RJ finishes 12-18 for 29 pts, but ends up a [- 9 ] and Raps lose at home vs Jaren Jackson and bench players…

Toronto misses Precious… Durant should try to force his way back to OKC, then Booker can force his way to the Knicks.

I don’t know that RJ’s and IQ’s plus minuses are so bad. They each played 37 of 48 minutes, so it’s not surprising their plus minuses were similar to the game difference. It was really a team loss.

Wolves lose at home vs Charlotte, like I mentioned the other day don’t take for granted all the Knicks wins vs below .500 teams.

    But it’s ok to lose.

The T’wolves played 9 men and gave 62 mins to their bench.

When the Heat lost to the shitty Hawks w/o Trae, Spoelstra played 10 men and gave 90 minutes to the bench.

Against the Wizards on the second night of a B2B Thibs only played 6 guys more than 9 mins.

I’m sorry but “we might lose this January game” is no excuse to go to a 6 man rotation. Take the L if you have to. It’s papering over the cracks.

From now on I’m not gonna look at the final score, just gonna look at the bench mins cause apparently that’s more important…

DJM running the point for Atlanta has 13 shots in 22 minutes so far (he made 4 of those). Zero (0) assists.

DJM running the point for Atlanta has 13 shots in 22 minutes so far (he made 4 of those). Zero (0) assists.

I feel like this needs an update. Murray proceeds to shoot 7-9 and ends with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.

(Sabonis, by the way, has been on a quiet tear lately. He’s basically “good Randle” but all the time.)

So Hartenstein “sore ankle” goes to “sore foot” and now he’s “questionable” because his Achilles flares up again*?

I don’t like it. At all.

    * The same Achilles that limited his play in the first half of last season.

My cellphone’s autocorrector has a master in classical literature, there’s only one “Achilles” for him! 😂
