Missed the game. Does 26/10 mean our brief concern over IQ is now over?

Could be wrong, but it really seems that the calculation is simple:

    Brunson = Good Randle
    No Brunson = Bad Randle

Also, by box score, 10/5 (4 for 9) in 13 minutes (despite going 0-4 from 3!) suggests there’s a Good Obi in there somewhere. Was the play commensurate with the box score?

Brunson being out helping RJ has been removed from the Eye Test Lab whiteboard.

Poking the Julius now seems to be in opponents’ playbooks. His intensity is part of what makes him effective but he needs to mitigate this. It also seems that he feels too much pressure to be the man when JB is out thereby causing this recent funk.

No wonder Randle thinks he has to be the man when Brunson is out, RJ is a disaster on both sides. And then Randle, trying to be the man, gives less effort on defense to have the energy to carry the team. You can’t have both your forwards defending subpar, so everytime Randle doesn’t put in the effort we’re a disaster because RJ is steady on his performance – always bad. Except some strings of 3/4 games here and there, and in the past the strings were like 9 games or something, nowadays he can’t go further than 3 or 4 good games before getting back to being bad. I’ve had enough of RJ, we need to trade him in the summer. But with the money he’ll be making, it won’t be an easy task.

Randle seems exhausted, and has been since the last 1-2 games of the winning streak. Nobody can maintain his level of intensity and concentration forever unless maybe he’s Michael Jordan. Give the guy a break.

I hope Randle can control his emotions, because with Brunson out, he can’t shoot 20.8% from the field and 30% from 3P land. That won’t cut it. Thankfully the Heat lost to the Magic, and what looked like a 6 game winning streak following the win against CLE (@ORL, UTA, MEM, @CHI, @DET) before hosting the Knicks, just started with an L. 🙂 Maybe one or two of UTA, MEM and CHI can surprise them too. We need to win tonight to stop this losing streak and probably we’ll manage to win at least one more from the following 3 games (@POR, DEN, MIN) to still be (at least) 2 games above the Heat when we meet. Then that game will be huge, if we win it’s check mate on Miami’s hopes to catch us. Who’s with me?
On all this, i don’t know what the Nets will do, if they keep winning, the 5th will be faraway, but i don’t think so. Their next games are: @DEN, @OKC, SAC, DEN, CLE, CLE, @MIA. No easy task, i would say.

Hey, guess whose health problems have flared up again?

On the plus side, maybe I’ll be here long enough to see Frank in person again!

My opinion on the team didn’t change with these losses. We have a problem – RJ – that we need to know what to do. If we keep him and he doesn’t make a (huge) leap, this plan might end like all the previous GMs plans. I think we should trade him sooner rather than later, but Leon has showed patience that paid off before, so if he keeps him i’ll be hoping he is right about it. After that it’s small things, like swapping Obi for a more defensive minded PF. We needed stops, Randle wasn’t in his days, what chances do you have to get stops if your backup is Obi? I also think we need a backup PG, because when Quick is handling the ball, then he isn’t on his spots to hit the 3Ps he usually makes. And that’s it, for me nothing changed because we’re losing. We weren’t great when on the winning streak, we had the same flaws, and we aren’t bad/mediocre when on a losing streak. What we need is to swap RJ for a very good player, if it’s a star, great, but a very good player like OG, Mikal or a similar player will be a big improvement over the summer. Until then, let’s see where this ride will end. I’m still hopeful it’ll be on a 1st round series win.

Miami just got beat by Orlando. Is that worse than us losing to Charlotte?

    No.

Orlando was at full roster, Charlotte’s missing its best player.

Orlando was at home, Charlotte was on the road.

We lead by 16 at the half, Miami’s largest lead was 7.

Before the game Orlando had 5 more wins that Charlotte (now 6). The Magic are closer to a play-in spot that they are to the fucking Hornets.

    No.

Alan, so sorry to hear that. Hope you have a full, speedy and permenant recovery.

    wishing you well big al…

there have been a couple of times along the journey when I wasn’t so sure how long this ride might last…

I don’t know about the whole: live every day like it’s your last credo…seems a little reckless to me…

there are definitely times though when the really really important stuff in life rises to the top, things get simplerer and clearer…

all this time in the hospital, I’m sure you’ve had more than enough time to reflect…

    stay positive al…

Sorry Alan, hope things start getting better (both for you and the Knicks😉)

I blame the stress of the current losing streak for you getting sick, call it New York Sickerbocker Syndrome.

It felt less obvious in yesterday’s game, but we actually grabbed nearly 40% of ORBs for the 2nd game in a row (39% against SAC, 38.5% against LAC). Both our ORtg & Drtg were still garbage.

We match up better against the Lakers than the Clippers… as long as Julius doesn’t go full Julius.

it’ll be interesting to see julius transition out of this funk…

fatigue, and its different forms, does indeed make a coward of us all…

hopefully ju gets his mojo back soon…that may only be a good night’s sleep away…

just thought of dude in knicks town…maybe there are those folks with indomitable spirits impervious to even fatigue…

just at the park chatted with some young folks, some in knicks’ gear…they were headed to tonight’s game…

I’ve been sporting some of my knick gear the last few months…

cdiggy and I need them to win this evening, badly…

hope you and the family are well cdiggy 🙂

Yup, I really want a win for cdiggy’s sake. He deserves it.

So do the rest of us, to be honest. But especially him.

    Who’s gonna defend The Brow?

Brooklyn has perfected the get blown out in the 1st half strategy so the opposing team lets their guard down then the Nets come back and win. Happening again right now in Denver.

Last 3 games the Nuggets got their asses kicked by the Bulls at home, lost to the Spurs and just lost to the Nets at home

Wtf is wrong with that team? Do they figure they have the 1 seed locked up?

cdiggy and I need them to win this evening, badly…

hope you and the family are well cdiggy

Yup, I really want a win for cdiggy’s sake. He deserves it.

    Bless you all. Honestly.

Alan, forgive me for sounding selfish but I’m really not trying to lose anyone else I know of in any shape or fashion anytime soon. Sending my well wishes to you for a healthy recovery.

And geo, we’re doing quite well. Some days, the death of my friend and the prepping my house for closing takes an emotional toll. Some days I wonder if I’m truly doing enough to succeed; *always* feels like there’s something more I can be doing. My wife just reminded me how much I have and how much I’ve achieved.

The lil one spoke his first word today! The whole facial mirroring thing really works! Got him to say “hi”. Of course, we couldn’t get him to say it while we had the recorder going lol.

Jokic is so good. What a line. Plus 14 in a two point loss. Obviously a triple double.

I would trade Mitch for him.

For today’s game, my concern is that the best player on the court is still AD. I think this game is gonna be up to the Knicks backcourt guys who should outplay the Laker guards/wings. Good games from Grimes, IQ, Hart and an OK game from RJ. If Randle has it going early, great. If not, he should defer – not the game where he should feel the need to force things. Let AD work for his 28 & 15 while clamping down his supporting cast. They do that, they should get the dub.

I think the Nuggets record is boosted by a crappy western conference. Of course, they’re also up 5 games on the 2 seed.

Nets seem to be hitting they’re stride. I’m a bit concerned about them.

I assume AD will play C, so it’ll be Mitch & Hartenstein guarding him.

I’d guess that Mitch might be one of the better matchups for AD in the league. It’ll be better than the Knicks needing to cover 2 big wings.

Honestly, just being to get out to enjoy the game for a few hours with the missus is the real win*. I ate light all day so I can liberally enjoy the overpriced stadium food – hell, I might even go for a beer.

*a Knicks win still would be really nice.

The West sucks yet Dallas is still sliding. We have their #15 pick right now! Too bad college bball is such a shitshow this year.

Yeah March Madness is kind of fun and all, but the quality of hoops at the college level is pretty bad.

Most of the games are just brick fests.
