SNY.com: Knicks, Marcus Morris have strong mutual interest in reaching free agency agreement this summer

From Ian Begley, who is having himself one heck of a debut season for SNY.com:

The Knicks are probably going to get plenty of calls from teams interested in Marcus Morris between now and next Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

You would expect them to listen to any offers on Morris, because that’s what any team would do in their situation.

But it’s worth noting that at least one team in touch with the Knicks recently was left with the impression that Morris and New York have strong mutual interest in reaching an agreement in free agency this summer, per SNY sources.

There are also rumors that Mills and Perry might get fired, so it is perfectly Knicksy to have these guys not trade Morris, only for them to be fired.

But hey, Morris signed long term is worth those guys getting fired, I guess.

It’s all still quite stupid. But, well, that’s the Knicks for ya.

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks @ Hornets

Everyone is still reeling from Kobe Bryant’s death, but the Knicks have to play another game.

The aggravating thing is that it is another winnable one, so the Knicks could easily be on a winning streak right before the trade deadline.

Don’t give these morons any reason not to trade players!

Let’s go? Knicks!

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Nets

This will certainly be a strange game, with the entire NBA world struggling with the shocking and tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, in a helicopter crash, along with one of Gigi’s teammates and their parent (as well as the pilot, of course).

Julius Randle, in particular on the Knicks, played with Kobe during Kobe’s final seasons, so he’s probably a wreck right now.

Kyrie Irving took the game off as soon as he heard the news. He and Kobe were good friends.

Our condolences to the families of the crash victims.

TMZ Reports: Kobe Bryant Killed in Helicopter Crash

Sad if it’s true. So far only TMZ is the one reporting it…

https://www.tmz.com/2020/01/26/kobe-bryant-killed-dead-helicopter-crash-in-calabasas/

Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning … TMZ Sports has confirmed.

Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We’re told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

EDIT: An L.A. Times writer has confirmed it as well.

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Raptors

The Knicks continue their playoff push tonight by hosting the defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors.

Let’s hope that Marcus Morris at least scores a lot of points.

Let’s go? Knicks!

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Anthony Davis’ Team Before He Joins the Knicks

Marcus Morris is not even playing, so there’s really no point to this game anymore. Morris doing well against a top team might have helped his trade value, but instead, the only thing you can root for is Mitch maybe doing okay? Frank doing something? Knox perhaps playing a little?

This team is so depressing. I don’t even think I could celebrate Mills being fired all that much (I mean, I would celebrate it) unless I knew Dolan wasn’t going to just replace him with, like, Allan Houston or whatever.

Dolan is so annoying. He just dampens all possible theoretical excitement with this team.

But hey, Dwight Powell, the Mavs’ actual good big man, is out for the rest of the season, maybe that will help the Knicks with the Mavs pick they own in…2021. Ugh. There is nothing to root for with this team.

Morris is playing tonight! Go for it, Mook! Score 40!

Let’s go? Knicks!

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks @ Cavs

Happy Martin Luther King Day!

The Knicks are so pathetic that they don’t even get to host the MLK Day Game anymore. It’s pretty darn sad.

So is this game in general. The Knicks might very well win this, because the Cavs are bad, too. But the whole thing is so depressing.

Let’s go! Knicks?

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Sixers

The Knicks continue their playoff push tonight by hosting the Philadelphia 76ers at the Garden.

Let’s hope that Marcus Morris has a really good game and the Sixers are impressed enough to work out a deal for him. Of course, knowing the morons who run the Knicks, they’ll say, “See! Morris is so good we need to keep him to continue our playoff push!”

The Knicks are only eight games out of the playoffs!

Let’s go? Knicks!

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Suns

The Knicks continue their playoff push with a game against the Phoenix Suns.

I’m attending this one, and I think I have a good chance to see a win tonight.

Let’s go! Knicks?

2019-20 Game Thread: Knicks @ Bucks

Coming off of a win, the Knicks are really on a huge playoff push now, with the Knicks now 7-11 under new coach Mike Miller.

They head to Milwaukee to take on the best regular season team in the NBA.

Should be interesting.
