It doesn’t matter how on board you may be with whatever it is the Knicks are doing. It doesn’t matter how often you may have declared your belief in the process (or whatever this week’s updated version of that process is). Doesn’t matter how much you buy in to the total rebuild the Knicks have…

I really like what the Sixers have done. The picks might hurt, as specially the Miami unprotected 2021 is a great asset, but Harris fits their team so damn well. Provides spacing for Butler and Simmons to work, won’t clash with Embiid inside and gives them another strong rebounder and 3 point shooter. There’s a real chance they’re the best team in the east now if they get a couple of extra guys in the buyout period.
The Clippers are also very well positioned, if they didn’t want to re-sign Harris anyway, it’s a pretty good haul.
This goes back to what we were discussing yesterday about Harris. You don’t want to give him a max contract as your top guy or even your number two guy, but paying him that much on a team that has all this other talent, that’s something you can win with.
Reddick is 34 and Butler is 8/5 to go postal at any moment he gets his shorts in a knot. I’d be careful with him on a super max deal….. but the starting 5 looks terrific.
They got Boban too, so they don’t need Kanter or Vonleh or whoever. They are stacked.
They need wings, but without Chandler, they can’t swing a Matthews trade. Would have to wait for a buyout.
That Philly trade is crazy. Their starting line-up is loaded but they have no depth at all. I’m sure they’ll be major players on buyout market after the deadline.
Sounds like Marc Gasol is on his way out of Memphis, apparently he was emptying his locker last night. Rumor is he’s headed to Charlotte.
I would jump on a Matthews for Zaire Smith trade.
Right after he had a good game against the Knicks, the Pistons cut bait on Reggie Bullock for a fairly small return. Odd. He is a free agent, but I assumed that A. They wanted to keep him long term and B. They were trying to make the playoffs in the shitty East.
Philly wouldn’t do that and the contracts don’t fit.
The thing that confused me about the Sixers offseason is that they didn’t try to bring in any guys on vet minimum deals. Couldn’t they have promised a pretty significant role to, say, Noah Vonleh? I remember us all discussing during the last offseason, “Why didn’t the Sixers bother to replace the two buyout guys who ended up playing major roles for them last year?” Brand just seemed to say, “Eh, you don’t need a bench.”
Wow, what a stunning photograph from last night’s Laker game. Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words!
Brian, stop being such a show-off with your magic ability to post pictures
Somehow Knox has risen 18 spots in Bill Simmons’ Trade Value Rankings. http://tradevalue.theringer.com/?_ga=2.147127540.271893315.1549389081-1301156529.1544090980
Fuck the heck?
Yikes that seems like a terrible trade for the Sixers. Harris is nice but he’s an unrestricted FA! He’s a good shooter and an ok ball handler but how many dudes do you need who need/want the ball in their hands? I mean wouldn’t you want Wes Matthews, who is not quite as good a shooter maybe but a much better defender than Harris, and wouldn’t have cost you all that treasure?! Or even Reggie Bullock?
I mean they are swinging for the fences which is fine, but if they flame out in the second round, it is very possible that both Butler and Harris leave, and what would they have to show for all the assets Hinkie accumulated?
Yikes.
Just feels weird for them to give up so much for the privilege of massively overpaying Tobias Harris. Because you have to figure the Nets will throw big money at him and Philly will definitely feel pressure to keep him after blowing all those assets on him.
Brian- what am I looking at in that photo other than your unquestioned command of HTML?
See where Lebron is sitting and where his teammates are sitting?
He should stop eating burritos at halftime
I think it’s going to happen: Knox, Mitch, DSJ, 2 1sts, and 2 2nds for AD.
