2017-18 Game Thread: Knicks vs. Nets

Sorry, I got so used to the West Coast game times. 😉

The Knicks host the Nets, one of the few teams that they can still beat!

Let’s go? Knicks?

Looks dislocated. Reminds me of when I broke my elbow years ago and it went limp from there, twisted.

If you’re not watching, it was Baker playing tough D.

I have seen too many action movies, because I expected him to just slam it into a wall to get it to fit back in.

If Frank ever figures out how to finish in the paint he’s going to be mighty good.

Okafor might be the biggest bust since Johnny Flynn

I’m not going to dis Okafor, because I read that piece someone posted a link to the other day. He talked about losing his mother to an asthma attack in front of him at age 9. Retreated into bball as a way to deal. Stop humanizing bad players, Players’ Tribune! Now I can’t say snarky things about him.

Bigger, he was way more hyped and drafted higher. A poor man’s Eddy Curry is a fair comparison at this point.

Supposedly he’s been playing better recently, but he hasn’t looked good tonight.

NJ doesn’t look to be playing real hard tonight, at least so far.

Darko was just a dumb pick based on poor european scouting. Okafor was the consensus #1 pick for a while based on his college play, then tailed off closer to the draft. Nobody thought he’d be this bad.

@20

Obviously Darko was a huge bust, but he had some years where he was at least playable. Okafor has been among the worst players in the league every game he steps on the floor

Trey can’t defend, but maybe he can be a real nice energy backup PG off the bench. Frank really needs to take over next year as the starter, anyways.

Anthony Bennett is undoubtedly the biggest bust ever…#1 pick to out of the league in just a few years. At least Darko hung around awhile

And Cleveland was rewarded for their stupidity by getting the #1 pick the following year. Life is not fair.

Everybody but Cleveland knew Bennett shouldn’t have been drafted in the top three, and Okafor might be even worse than Bennett productivity wise—it’s a real toss up

another injury with Kevin Love probably out 6-8 weeks. State of the union is fraying.

Just checked the box score at work. That is a nice stat line for Kanter in 27 minutes. If only he could defend the damn PNR better!!!

If you wanna see a boxscore check out harden tonight. Drummond not too shabby either.

Ewing might not have a 20 pt, 20 reb, 5 ast game in the regular season but he had one in Game 7 of the 1994 East Finals: 24 pts, 22 rebs and 7 asts plus 5 blks too.

Cleveland is a fucking mess. They just got bodied down the stretch by the short handed Pistons.

How do the Cavs not trade for Lee and O’Quinn now?

Right? It seems so perfect.

How do the Cavs not trade for Lee and O’Quinn now?

Nets pick please 🙂

From espn: Channing Frye the only experienced center on the roster besides Thompson. Frye, who’s in the final season of his contract, was apparently headed to the Sacramento Kings when the two teams discussed a trade sending George Hill to the Cavaliers. Will Cleveland feel comfortable dealing Frye now?

They need a KOQ.

We don’t even need the Nets pick. I will gladly take their first round pick and any combination of expiring contracts/Iman Shumpert for O’Quinn and Lee.

Hell, what they need is a tall drink of Noah. He’s actually a good fit for them (if healthy). But that means we’re taking back Thompson.

The last thing we need is the Kardashian curse hanging around the Knicks.
