Just to add to the Jalen Brunson clutch-ness question from yesterday —
Jalen Brunson 4Q stats for the whole playoff run: TS 68.9 on 38.9 usage, 7.4% TO rate.
Per 36 -> 40.7 points, 56.2 FG, 52.6 3P%, 90.5 FT%. You just cannot do it better than that.
In the finals, which was an absolute rock fight by both teams –
Per 36 – 42.6 points on 51.4/42.9/88.2 splits
62.9 TS on freaking 42.1% usage, 7.7% turnover rate.
The best closer in NBA Finals history.
He is like the Terminator in that he just keeps coming and coming even though you feel like you’ve killed him 10x, except in this Terminator movie, John Connor has no chance.
(In comparison -> Deaaron Fox – 35.2% TS on 20.5% usage, 17.2% TO ratio. Dylan Harper 40.2% TS on 22.7% usage. Wemby 45.4% TS on 33.6% usage)
Other stats of note – blown layup notwithstanding – Josh Hart led both teams in 4Q rebounding% at 14.9% and 4Q net rating (+41).
Who taped Dolan’s speech, and who gave the tape to the Post?
It was posted to the Roommates pod YouTube channel, so I assume it was all done with Dolan’s permission.
I have to think Dolan consented to it, in the condition that it could be released if we did the damn thing. Otherwise, yeah, we have a bit of a mess on our hands. Nothing new under the sun!
Not surprisingly the NY Post is crediting Dolan’s speech with inspiring the Knicks playoff run
“Win one for the nepo baby!”
I was sort of thinking Dolan had it taped himself, for just this purpose.
