I had a random encounter with Leslie Bibb last night and it took a lot of willpower but I managed to avoid bragging about my loose connection to Alan through an online community of Knicks fans.

Sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseum in previous threads but I am not loving the reports of Dadiet being the likely guy out — unless they’ve seen enough to know that this is the highest his value will be. Adding Shamet/Brogdon as literally the 10th guy seems unlikely to be a real needle-mover. Team already is a bit on the non-athletic side and I would worry we’d get run out of the gym by some of the good teams out there.

I would understand if Deuce is the guy sent out – would get solid value back and as much as I love Deuce, his value right now is basically as a rotation level player on a cheap contract – a contract that is about to get more expensive. His playmaking has never evolved and I do think he’s a bit overrated as a defender, especially in the playoffs when his size limitations become very evident…

Mike Brown says it’s too early to know what he’s going to do with the Knicks’ starting lineup; says he’ll reach that conclusion with more time

Brown says his history has shown he usually plays 9.5 to 10 guys, and that he likes to play as many guys as he can. Says he approaches this job feeling “as deep as this roster is” he wants to get everyone an opportunity

Brown, on Mikal Bridges since signing his extension: He’s a guy that’s been here almost every day [this summer]; sometimes twice a day.

I don’t like the reports, either, Frank. But Dadiet was a weird pick for this organization in the first place. They’ve never shown an appetite for long term projects. It’s possible they only drafted him to use him in a future trade.

What I really don’t like is doing any of this for Brogdon. It’s really hard to project him being available when we need him.

So … I just stopped by to share some love for Ess Dog’s new (?) profile pic.

Then I clicked on Geo’s pic for a closer look at that, and a link took me to youtube for a sublime clip of Dave Brubeck playing “Take Five” (go Paul Desmond!).

I missed this place all summer.

Also, I’m very happy to hear Mikal is/was in the gym (all summer). He should want to make the All Star Team this year. I want that for him, too.

The noise about Dadiet being the top trade candidate is distressing. But it seems like those articles are saying that because he has most value to other teams and they like him for the same reasons we do. I’m hoping Knicks management also feels that way. And if you look at our roster, it’s short on people with size, which could act in favor of keeping him.
