Sorry, folks, someone else was scheduled to do this game thread, so I wanted to wait until the last moment before throwing one up on my own.
Anyhow, today is the first game of the Kurt Rambis era of the New York Knicks. If Kristaps Porzingis suddenly starts getting played less than Kevin Seraphim, you know things are bad. Seriously, though, I honestly don’t think Rambis’ disastrous stint in Minnesota says that much about him as a coach. That was just a really bad team. I think Rambis is not an awful coach, but nor is he a particularly good one. However, the Knicks might just be in a situation where any change might be a good one.
Teams typically play better after their coach is fired, as they get sort of pumped up and know that there is no scapegoat to get rid of if they continue to suck. So I expect the Knicks to come out firing on all cylinders tonight.
The Wizards are a much bigger disappointment than the Knicks this season, so let’s hope that the Knicks keep them down.
Let’s go Knicks!
We welcome our new Rambis overlord!
