I love the way Knicks fans are losing their mind over the fact Mitch made both his free throws in a preseason game

Also, I have a new favorite NCAA player. Marcis Ponder. Absolute behemoth of a man. Had 21 rebounds in 25 minutes in his exhibition debut. He’s a 4 star recruit but a 10 star in my eyes. Very reliable Twitter comments indicate he has slimmed down from 330 pounds of pure muscle to 285 pounds of pure muscle.

Do I need something to take my mind off Mitch? Absolutely

Hollinger’s projection model has us finishing with the fifth seed, even if he still says we’d be his favorite to make it to the Finals from the East.

If we go to the Finals, i could care less about our seed. 😉
We are now one of those teams that used to drive us mad, by not making a full effort during the regular season and then come up strong and winning in the playoffs.

It’s my fault, i used to dream about a center rotation of Mitch and Queta. The basketball Gods didn’t get the part where it should only be ON THE KNICKS!

I think the Pistons will win a lot fewer games than last year. Collins is a big step down from Harris. They also led the league in opponent 3p%, which is likely to regress.

cyber, Brian Scalabrine on NBA Radio mentioned that Queta has a move C’s fans are calling the Neem Shake…

That’s great. 🙂 I root for him to do well… and lose the game. 😀

    that’s some monkey’s paw shit

I actually liked the Collins signing for Detroit but after hearing it get panned by literally everyone I realized that I’m probably still traumatized by the Hawks series in 2021 and no one from that team is as good as I remember them.

Collins’ numbers have always looked a lot better than his impact. I also think Harris has become one of the more underrated players in the league and they might miss his ballhandling.

I think we’ll find a team to take Dadiet for a single 2nd and pay them cash to cover his salary. They’ll cut him. We’ll use that space to sign Brown.

Also, Raptors waived Trey Jemison III if we wanted to bring him back on a two-way

I play poker and we had a sidebet in our game last week. Whoever had the worst night had to go watch Digger.

Very surprised to hear it’s great. Had heard it was the opposite.

There seems to be a big split. Depends on whether the comedy lands with you or not.

Wow, shitty timing for Eubanks. Getting hurt right when teams have to make important roster decisions is a bummer—happened to Landry Shamet in the past, too. I guess the Knicks either couldn’t find a way to stash him somehow some way, or didn’t see enough reason to do so.

So with Bradley hurting his hamstring and Eubanks getting waived, seems like Wiseman is the guy. I’m weirdly excited about it. Which is not the same as optimistic.

My hope is that they sign Wiseman to a non-guaranteed deal, and if he doesn’t work out, they can cut him and pick up somebody else, including one of Bradley or Eubanks. But they’ll probably give him a guarantee.

” I’m weirdly excited about it. Which is not the same as optimistic.”

Perfectly sums up my position, as well.

All two of the people I know who have seen Digger say it’s great.

All 400,000,000 people on the internet that I don’t know and may or may not have seen it say it is terrible.

I want Cisse, especially over Wiseman. I’d like to get my heart set on it happening (since we’ve already shown in interest by signing him to an offer sheet this summer), but it seems unlikely. Can’t imagine how Dallas didn’t realize that they have too many guys at that position. Sacramento largely in the same boat. Hoping we can get one of the young veterans that those two teams will have to cut.

This is a bit like how I’ve always wanted Bruce Brown to find his way here…just not because we cheaped out on Mitchell Robinson.

    what’s up donnie…why ain’t shohei showing out?

well, they haven’t been knocked out of the playoffs yet…still time for them to come back…hahahahahahahahahaha…

Donnie I should have made clear I am in exactly the same position. Don’t know anyone willing to take the risk.

Probably ends up a cult classic 15 years down the line where people scratch their heads about how badly it did at the box office

Or maybe is permanently divisive long term like an incinerated draft pick.

We can’t acquire Cisse in a trade from any team for 1 year. He would need to be waived for us to acquire him.

Cisse also has a no trade clause for 1 year due to the fact the Mavs matched an offer sheet. So in theory, Cisse could try and maneuver his way here if Dallas is really desperate to make room for another player.

they could get a nice haul for kyrie, if he moves, hopefully he stays in the west…kolek would be perfect for the mavs…

just how bad on offense is cisse though?

He had a -2.3 oepm, which is the same as Eubanks and better than Wiseman (-3.2) and Bradley (-2.7).

    The problem is his 2.0 TO/36 compared to 0.6 ast/36 and a .564 TS% on 14% usage. That’s just below average at 97 TS+.

He shoots free throws like Mitch at .467.

He did grab 6 orebs/36. So at least that’s useful.

Thanks to Early Bird my apple news feed just informed me that Digger is the best movie Neil Young has EVER seen.

And now I’m being told that Ben Affleck wants more movies like Digger!

(Mike K is definitely selling our data, guys)

Or maybe is permanently divisive long term like an incinerated draft pick.

Typically, I’d be extremely open-minded about the prospects of fading the critics with something like Digger, but the problem here is that it can’t possibly take because I think Tom Cruise is kind of a joke as an actor and I’ve never liked him — even going back to his Risky Business days when given my status as a near peer agewise, I was “supposed to” like him and all but commanded to like him by pop culture and my peers.

Probably says something about me, but I pretty much didn’t and don’t like any of that mid-80s group a handful of years older — can’t stand Andrew McCarthy or Judd Nelson or Rob Lowe (*). I could probably pick the brain and find some I like — as I write, Robert Downey, Jr. turned out ok and I don’t mind him. (**) Some from the “generation” about five years younger I definitely liked, including KB’s favorite thief Winona Ryder.

Cruise is guess was ok in Rain Man, which I loved contemporaneously — but inner circle HOFer Dustin Hoffman totally carried him. Beyond that, I find his oeuvre to be pure dreck, virtually entirely because of his presence.

The Scientology, the try too hard with the press and just general “movies are art and I’m an artist” hustlebunny, the parade of beards (***), and on and on. Yuck.

(*) Even though I was dragged to the theatre to see St. Elmo’s Fire which I secretly hate watched. Awful movie.

(**) Picking mind further, movies I did like a lot from that era, both then and now: After Hours, Hannah and Her Sisters. Certainly others but would have to think harder.

(***) Including de facto Michigander (Toledo) Katie Holmes, another example of that slightly later generation that I definitely liked/like much more than the Cruise generation. Just got the 4K of Go, a better movie in my eyes than any of Cruise’s career-long yuckfest (other than Rain Man, see above).
