Until the playoffs we have what? 9 or 10 days, maybe? Is it enough for him to be 100% by then?
If it’s not bad, I would think so. But all the more reason why we should want Toronto in the first round. Not having OG makes any series a bit harder but I feel we can still beat them without OG or with an OG that isn’t 100 percent. And hopefully the time it takes to get to the second round would be enough time for him to fully heal.
Going into today top of mind is: drawing Toronto instead of Atlanta; OG’s ankle; getting the 24th pick in the draft instead of the 25th or 26th; and having Mitch very healthy for Round 2.
If it was up to me I’d sit everyone today and totally tank the game. I wouldn’t take any chances on an injury.
Good morning, all! Big day here—we’ll know what we need to know by around 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
Yeah, unfortunately I don’t think that we should be assuming Toronto just yet. As much as I would really love to be able to do that, I think that the Heat could very easily beat the Hawks tonight, despite the “nothing-to-play-for” designation. Atlanta might take it easy tonight in order to stay healthy, and a loss would slot them against us instead of Toronto (assuming that Toronto beats the Nets, which is a decent assumption—I doubt the Nets could beat the Raptors even if they *were* trying to win and Toronto wasn’t).
I still think we’d beat the Hawks, although it might take us six games instead of four, which would be significant as we move forward.

My head is with you on that one, Strat, although my heart would love to go into the playoffs on a nice 6-game win streak.
The only thing of importance today is having everyone healthy.
On the other hand, does the coaching and medical staff think there is a difference in game sharpness between having 6 days off and 8?
Oh, I’m definitely not suggesting that we play our “real” guys in order to beat Charlotte and secure that 6-game win streak to end the regular season. I’m hoping that we can play our bench and back-of-bench guys and still win, however unlikely (since Charlotte still has something to play for and will be playing their starters, who are pretty damn good most nights).
are these two possible at the same time?

“Orlando is now a 13-point favorite tonight in Boston.
If the Magic win, the Hawks are the 5 seed regardless of other results”.
The Hawks just beat the Cavs by 20, so opting to drop down to play the Knicks would certainly indicate… something.
Knicks are 13 ½ point underdogs today
I guess the lesson is never buy tickets for the last game of the season, feel bad for those folks.

Detroit wants 60 wins
Pina gives OG just an Honorable Mention in his assessment of Defensive first and second teams.
Detroit still thinks NBA teams are supposed to try to win games, lol. Boomers.
LOL
Anti-NY awards bias continues
The Mets have about six automatic outs in their lineup today.
Don’t know what’s going on with Lindor. That team is feeble without Soto. Wasted a really well pitched game. The team is lifeless offensively.
Don’t feel too bad Yankees suck just as much as the Mets.
At least the Yankees put up a battle.
They’re down 1-0 in the 9th, 2-3-4 hitters coming up, and the A’s retire the side on 4 pitches. They’re just not playing like a proper professional team.
Lindor always stinks in April, which is honestly an indictment on him, but this year he’s recovering from the hamate injury so it’s even worse. He has also made several egregious mental errors this season and is playing as bad as I’ve ever seen him play.
Stearns rushed Benge into a starting OF job and he isn’t ready, hasn’t mastered AAA, and can’t hit MLB pitching. He needs to be in AAA getting swings in a more low-pressure environment. The Mets also have several players playing out of position, with Bichette playing a position he can’t handle so the Mets can have a place for the very washed-looking Marcus Semien to play.
There’s talent on the team, and the Mets also have a good amount of talent in the high minors, but the big league club is just not showing up ready to play.
14 now. We must be sitting everyone (correctly)
