2026 NBA Playoffs Round 1: Knicks @ Hawks Game 3 – Time to Nip This in the Bud

Okay, time for the Knicks to stop giving the Hawks any hope in this series.

Let’s go, Knicks!

The Great Clown Pagliacci is not silenced!

This is a loss though. They can just throw up a 4th quarter 11-0 run whenever they want so we’re pretty much cooked unless we’re blowing them out.

Wow, that may have been the weakest shit I’ve seen from Mikal. He literally just rolled over, out of bounds.

Wow, that may have been the weakest shit I’ve seen from Mikal.

And that’s saying a lot

If brown insists on going small on cj and not doubling he’s dumber than any of us have thought.

Also the hawks are shooting 80000% from 3

Double big, put og on cj, send Mikal to Siberia.

mutherfreaking god dang son of a gun…

has anyone else noticed that atlanta is totally taking it to us now and sort of imposing their will…

if we can win this one, all will be forgiven in the end…

Well that wasn’t my favorite quarter.

Maybe Golden State gave up on Kuminga too soon?

I’d definitely do that, Somewhat Bearable. Mikal is useless, nobody is getting any rebounds.

Mikal is one of the most fugazy Knicks ever. Softer than baby thighs. The guy is a myth.

You can tell the team is trying to overcompensate for the shitty 4th quarter from game 2. So tentative. I can’t understand how this team is so underprepared after having three days off. And immediately terrible rotations by Brown. He’s hoping KAT takes over the 2nd quarter and if he doesn’t, I’d fire him at halftime

All I’ll say is big first quarter leads rarely mean anything

(he says with zero confidence)

I honestly didn’t think this one would be over this quickly. Once again I make my classic mistake of being too optimistic about the Knicks.

If this Clarkson-Alvarado-Shamet-OG-KAT lineup doesn’t get blown off the floor, well I will honestly be surprised.

nice to see one of jalen/KAT on the court to start the second quarter…

not so nice to see deuce, jose and clarkson all on the court at the same time…

STOP PUTTING SMALL GUYS IN SINGLE COVERAGE ON CJ THIS IS SO FUCKING SIMPLE

Well with Pags back I’m definitely leaving Knickerblogger. Good luck with the game, everyone.

And Pags — drink bleach, you fuck.

Farewell, Raven, and no hard feelings. Sorry I predicted exactly what would happen in this game.

You can’t be so afraid of NAW that you live with McCollum killing you every game.

Farewell, Raven, and no hard feelings. Sorry I predicted exactly what would happen in this game.

The game isn’t over you little crybaby cunt

It’s really annoying to have to watch the Knicks losing and then see a “fan” prematurely dancing on the Knicks grave in the game chat actually.

If they regress in shooting we’ll win.

In other words, they are so mentally beaten by their complete pathetic choke job that they lost not just the game, but the series. Just like happened in G1 vs. Indy last year, and just like I said after G2 in this series.

People have said we’re a team without an identity, but they’re wrong. This is our identity. Has been since 1994.

Knicks only down 10. shooting 14% on 3’s. KAT with 3 frickin shots. Not over………..

just re-watched the boys season 4 to catch up…

line of the series delivered by one billy butcher…

I’d call you a cunt, but you don’t have the depth or warmth

that’s some brilliant stuff there…

Somehow the lineup with Mikal and Brunson in it did far worse than the Alvarado-Shamet-Clarkson lineup

The game isn’t over you little crybaby cunt

1. Yes it is. McCollum > Brunson, Kuminga > Towns, NAW/JJ > Wingstop, and Snyder > Brown. Like the Pistons, they’ve passed us because they cultivated actual young talent and we aimed for the mezzanine.

2. C’mon dude, you’re better than this. I’m not the one crashing out calling people obscenities here.

Well the worst case scenario means we don’t have to see Mikail/Brown next year so that’s what’s getting me through this absolutely dog shit performance

1

Why do you think Brown is gone? Can’t keep cutting coaches after 1 year.

Problem with Brown is his press conferences are hot air., but optics say can’t fire the coach without roster change first

Fuck off dipshit. Everybody here to a man hates your fucking bitch ass.

Ok man. I’m not making this happen though, all I did was know that it would.

Give me Clarkson over Mikal any day of the week. He wants it.

Doesn’t look good on Leon. Leon is a bigger issue over Brown who I’m no fan of. Can’t bench this guy because of the picks and Dolan will can him

Only being down eight after that is a miracle. Let’s build on it.

I can’t believe this Knicks roster is outplayed by the Hawks roster. It’s not that the Knicks are not trying.

Good thing we closed the half well and we are still in it. Roster experience and quality sometimes matter by themselves. I am saying this because Snyder had us handcuffed the entire time.

Non-Wingstop lineup last three minutes or so played well. OG’s playing well, so it’s not him. That leaves one WS member and, well, he sucks.

Would’ve been nice to get a quality shot and maybe be down only 6. They blitz Brunson and we don’t make them pay with crisp cuts to open space.

If you’re Brown you can’t start Mikal to begin the third. Playing time needs to go with who is helping you, but it won’t happen.

@TommyBeer

Mikal Bridges in the last 4 quarters.

O points
O-for-7 FGs
1 rebound
2 assists
3 turnovers
-26 in
35 minutes

The opportunity cost involved in acquiring Mikal really does just break your heart. You can find guys like him in the draft. He’s a completely generic player.

If Mikal had Hart’s character, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. The guy is a zombie. Its not that he doesn’t have physical talent.

Bridges needs to come off the bench. This is sunk cost fallacy to keep starting him. Also, great to only be down 8, but will we start the 3q well, or will lead balloon to 16 in the first 5 mins? I have ~0% trust in the starting unit unless Brunson is going off, and he’s cold

Nickel Alexander hasn’t made a shot in this game

Knicks getting a ton of help from him

Pretty confident that the data saying the Knicks starting lineup is ass is correct

will lead balloon to 16 in the first 5 mins

Sometimes in life you do get answers

The opportunity cost involved in acquiring Mikal really does just break your heart. You can find guys like him in the draft. He’s a completely generic player.

It really does. Imagine having a bunch of assets to trade and an actual competent guy in his place.

At least brown took a timeout after an 8-0 run not a 11-0 run

PROGRESS!

So out of sync. And Josh Hart is having a bad game.
KAT needs to be demanding the ball.

If we’re looking at Brunson . If you take away quarter 1 in game 1 he’s been bad

Brunson needs to be a traditional PG right now.
He isn’t playing well.
Towns needs to pull a Shaq.

Smart to stop handicapping ourselves by playing the guy who was just looking to get some cardio

I’m not even sure Bridges should see the floor again.

Bring in Clarkson next, sit Bridges

One positive about Towns is that he’s a lights-out free throw shooter. Nice to have in a big man.

I would say the best player is the QB the Raiders took if he turns into a franchise QB

I’m not sure how much more of this I can watch. Can we bring Thibs back for game 4?

1

Sorry to interrupt this game thread, but you all remember earlier when Doogie said “was it Leon Rose?”… win or lose tonight, and Pags trolling aside, we’ll always have that.

2

Browns refusal to play double big against this Lilliputian team is just insane

Brown said pre game he has zero interest in the double big lineup .

*Mitch will most likely be out here after the szn so not getting his use

Daniels can’t shoot but he’s still a damn good basketball player

I gotta tell you. I miss the Hartenstein/Robinson, Randle, OG, Dante, Brunson Knicks.

2

Brown said pre game he has zero interest in the double big lineup

It might help if he didn’t play Hart with them also, but that’s over his head.

We talked a lot about Thibs doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results but damn Mike Brown is really raising it to an art form.

Thibs had a big fart in game 1 vs Indy . If that doesn’t happen maybe he ends up in the finals

Mike brown?

Hartenstein/Robinson, Randle, OG, Dante, Brunson Knicks.

Hartenstein & Donte are straight up better than KAT & Mikal.

Randle is just a bonus.

I don’t get people pissing on Hart – his defense all series has been really good. There’s a reason some of their players have been invisible.

OG’s defense was terrific that quarter. No one else’s though (besides Hart I guess).

This I-Hart thing on this team is weird

*Couldn’t defend Embiid

*Got cooked by Miles Turner

KAT realizing too late he’s too big, strong, and mobile. Could’ve used this the last 2 games.

Anyone notice that Towns has no left hand?
11 seasons, still no left hand.
All his shots, even on the left side of the basket he shoots with his right.
Every team in the nba can exploit that .

Mike Brown is giving the Hawks hope with the rotations and lack of a strategy. But Brunson needs to play better too. Too much dribbling into traffic. Keep it simple.

Let’s see if our players can overcome our deer-in-headlights coach.

1

I don’t see who’s gonna come to save us in the 4th. Towns is not aggressive enough. Brunson is off and well guarded and getting torched on the other end. Everyone else is too inconsistent and unreliable. 8 point lead feels like 20

Ihart had a bad playoff no doubt. But overall he may be better suited for this team overall.

Why is Mikal Bridges on my television screen

1

I don’t understand how Hart and Alvarado aren’t the same person

Edit: I also don’t understand how there’s both on the court with Deuce, Mitch, and Clarkson. WTF Mike Brown?

This lineup has played zero minutes this year

Just hope the Mike Brown noise is very loud**

Mike Brown is terrible.

It was easy to give him the benefit of the doubt early in the season because I assumed he was experimenting trying to figure out which lineups worked. Now we know he was just doesn’t know what he’s doing.

1

Mikal once again failed to defend a screen, and was lagging behind the play on defense. He really gives you just nothing

Mikal played shitty lazy defense on the pick and roll which allowed the defense to be broken down and opened everything up for Kuminga’s offense board.

1

It’s not just the lineups. It’s the schemes, the plays, the adjustments. They run their plays and we don’t run ours. We look lost. It looks like Snyder is toying with us. Where is our coaching? This is painful to watch.

The point of staggering the lineups is not just to have offense, it’s also to not have two defensive sieves in the game … who the hell is he expecting to score in that lineup he’s putting out there? What data are they looking at? Whose eyes are they looking through? UNbelieveable

1

Back to back games where lineups without Brunson and KAT play bad. And I thought Thibs was stubborn…

Mikal is deservedly back on the bench.

Five firsts for this guy and he is literally not playable in a crucial playoff game.

Deuce calling to Towns for a PnR, and he runs away WTF

That’s on Deuce for thinking KAT knows the playbook

1

well, maybe at least this situation will help bring some clarity in the off-season…

we are about to be waist-deep in the shit…up to our neck’ll be rama’s three loss series scenario…

coming soon to you?

god i hate listening to svg continually troll us…

Mike brown should be fired if they lose this series

Will he? Not sure

His press conferences will be muted though . Lame duck coach

At least, win or lose, we’re letting it be decided by the guys who look like they give a shit

1

Geo I think SVG has something out for the Knicks because of his brother

1

welp, queue kenny loggins’ this is it…cuz, this sure feels like it is it…

Make no mistake where you are.

Winning time.

OG with the shot of the season

And that should be a successful challenge

Okay, here’s the play:
Brunson dribbles until there are six seconds on the shot clock, then he drives into four defenders and puts up a prayer.

1

Hey, look at that, a smart challenge

Even if they lose, they needed a rest

Knicks need someone beside JB to close. he’s not effective vs Daniels or NAW. Ride or die with KAT and Deuce Edit – or OG

I am sticking around for the end of this one.

I don’t like McBride’s hair. It’s a Kenny Walker flat top with Latrell cornrows.

Brunson standing with the ball watching valuable clock run off and then throws up trash when the there’s no more time. It’s like watching Melo.

3

let’s hope the hawks fuck something up on this final possession…

Like leaving 12 seconds on the clock

2

Of course McCollum hits that.

I don’t get why you put the shortest guy on the court on him.

2

Whywhywhywhywhywhy WHY was deuce on CJ!!!!!!!!!

Total unforced mike brown error

They ran their last play easily. Now, can we run ours? Get an easy shot and you win the game.

Fucking 6 foot guard on CJ again. Dumb af.

And they would have gotten the offensive board if he’d missed anyway.

1

We are just lost.
Brunson tripled teamed there. And the rest of the squad just stands there

This is Hardenesque from Brunson at this point.

What a fucking disaster of a series for him.

Kuminga, on the other hand, cut his braids. Turns out out he’s a really good looking dude. Glad I watched.

-DW

The captain has officially lost his mojo. He’s a liability now. Someone said Harden-esqe and couldn’t put it better.

This team is done. I have no faith in them because they don’t have faith in themselves. And the coach, even after a full regular season, STILL doesn’t have a feel for the team.

I should be more optimistic as a fan and believe in a comeback but after those two losses I’m struggling to find hope.

As I said, I won’t worry until the Hawks have 3. With luck they now understand the challenge in front of them.

The players tried to win this by themselves based on experience and quality. Unfortunately, this was not enough.

If we can’t beat the Hawks in 5, we sure as hell can’t beat Boston or Detroit in 7

KAT gets the ball on the inbounds and then the play is a handoff to Hart with KAT then going to set an off-ball screen for Brunson who’s then to get a long cross-court pass from Hart.

Does not compute on any level.

That was so incredibly stupid. I was thinking before tha play started, let’s get it to Towns

It’s disgraceful what you do at this blog, Pags. You post nothing here but garbage.

You have no idea how to be part of a community. You just come here at everybody else’s expense to vent your dumb fucking anxiety. You provide absolutely nothing of value.

What a complete fucking loser you are.

6

and of course CJ fucking Mccollum is now the latest knicks killer

No, it’s that this franchise cannot handle prosperity. They brought it upon themselves. You have to go back a couple of seasons at least. Tonight is the culmination of the problems that many of us saw coming.

I mean, who thought the starting five would be better with Deuce in for Mikal other than everybody?

1

The lineup with the starters plus Deuce played well. Deuce was blowing up screens and playing aggressively, a night and day difference from when Mikal was in the game. Brown took way too long to discover that lineup

1

I’ve done my share of unpopular whining about the way Brunson plays this season, but I’m at the stage where he’s almost unwatchable for me. He may be the most overrated player in the entire NBA. He’s a huge liability on defense and on offense he can score, but he plays low IQ basketball and is barely a net plus. It may be politically impossible, but if this was my team he and Brown would be out of here.

Brown took way too long to discover that lineup

He literally has no idea who the best players on the team are or how to construct a lineup. He’s fucking terrible.

This team isn’t really good enough to win with a mid coach. If we had an actual plus coach we probably win games 2 and 3

I love Deuce, but it’s not good that at the end of games, the other team’s players can just shoot right over him.

I remember a playoff game in the Van Gundy era where the Knicks, like, quadrupled-teamed an opposing team’s player at the end of the game, because they KNEW he was going to still shoot, and he did.

Similarly, the Hawks knew that Brunson would still try something even triple-teamed.

1

The only positives tonight were the jets picks and me plucking a 2016 Langhe Rosso (Alessandro Rivetto) out of the cellar to pair with the rigatoni and sausage in cream sauce I made…

This next game may be the pivot point for this god forsaken franchise….

The lack of a secondary shot creator makes the Brunson problem worse. Would be nice if we had a wing that could put it on the deck and make something happen.

Also Hart missed a wide ass open corner 3pter right before the Brunson airball.

Anyone else just want to fast forward to the offseason and the inevitable dismantling of half the roster? This team, as constructed, can’t win it all. They need to trade a bunch of pieces.

2

34 minutes for Towns. He had 2 fouls in total and we a plus 22. Is it the playoffs ?

2

Anyone else just want to fast forward to the offseason and the inevitable dismantling of half the roster? This team, as constructed, can’t win it all. They need to trade a bunch of pieces

He isn’t touxhing much of this team . Maybe Mikal and some low ball towns offer .

Thank God this isn’t Strat’s team…

I don’t expect most fans to agree with me because most fans don’t value defense, ball and player movement, and decision making properly.

Brunson is only a marginally plus player the way he plays defense and PG, but he still has a lot of value around the league because he scores and has been so hyped.

I would trade him. IMO we could get a player that would add more wins than Brunson in a trade. It’s the politics of it that are the problem. Fans would go crazy.

Anyone else just want to fast forward to the offseason and the inevitable dismantling of half the roster? This team, as constructed, can’t win it all. They need to trade a bunch of pieces.

You don’t need to start allover again. Get a better coach, and go for Giannis if you can get him without gutting down the roster. This roster is good enough for second round at least or even conference finals with a top coach. With Giannis we would be contending.

The playoffs where regular season standings don’t matter.

Oh well. We will always have those meaningless games we won against tanking teams.

Would be nice if we had a wing that could put it on the deck and make something happen.

I could’ve sworn we traded 5 first-round picks for that, but I guess that was just a dream some of us had…

Mikal didn’t like Thibs

Coach gets changed

Mikal still don’t want to play

Dolan…

as many have noted this team needs more ball handlers and creators. They have needed that now for multiple years. The Hawks have several guys who do that. The Knicks have mainly 1. It’s insane. Too much pressure and burden on Brunson. He was bound to make some mistakes.

The amount of Brunson bashing is insane. He’s the best thing to happen to the Knicks since Ewing. Yeah let’s trade him. Oh boy.

What a pathetic game by Mikal. Really bad. Josh hustled but he played like a hockey player the amount of times he slipped. Having two starters do nothing on offense really makes it tough.

After Game 1, I said the Hawks needed everything to go their way to win games in this series. Incredibly, the past two games it has. Brunson no longer clutch and turnover-prone/sleeve on defense. Mike Brown inept decision making. Bridges no impact whatsoever. KAT disappears either cuz of the team or himself (more of the former).

And yet we still had chances to win games 2 and 3! I’m in shock really we’re down in this series. We gave them two games so carelessly.

This team isn’t really good enough to win with a mid coach. If we had an actual plus coach we probably win games 2 and 3

If you go back to the coaching search period, you’ll see a number of my posts where I was specifically pushing for Leon to take a huge risk with a young unproven coach because I thought this team needed a great coach to win and Brown was just a recycled good coach. There was some downside risk to that idea, but we needed the possible upside.

The Bridges trade must be worst in history of the team and that’s saying something

The amount of Brunson bashing is insane. He’s the best thing to happen to the Knicks since Ewing.

Exactly! Brunson is not the reason we are losing, but even if he was I’d still be defending him. He has given us enough already. He has earned the right have a bad game or series or season. Again, I don’t think he is the main culprit for the trouble the Knicks are in right now anyway.

Brunson has not been great but, honestly, seeing this poor play from him makes me think it’s Brown.

Leon fucked this up. He traded 5 picks for Mikal and then when Mikal didn’t like Thibs he fired the best and most successful coach we’ve had in 25 years after reaching the conference finals so he wouldn’t lose the guy he traded 5 picks for and he replace him with a players coach who isn’t as good.

Thibs raise the starters last regular season bc the bench was awful. Give Thibs this team and the starters would not have played as much and guarantee you Mitch would play more than 11 minutes in a playoff game against a team that didn’t have a player taller than 6’ 8”.

Brunson ain’t the problem. Towns ain’t the problem. OG, Deuce, Mitch…down the line…ain’t the problem.

It’s fucking cardio guy who takes three shots in a playoff game and does nothing that we traded all our picks for and who got Thibs fired. Mikal is the problem.

Take the L and trade him. Build up Diawara and hope we can get decent pieces in return for mikal. He’s fucking useless. Brown is whatever but he ain’t an upgrade from Thibs that’s for sure.

They have needed that now for multiple years. The Hawks have several guys who do that.

Huh? Besides McCollum and an insane Kuminga performance, I struggle to find who on the Hawks has been killing us. Johnson has put up numbers but he hasn’t looked exactly dominant. NAW has been held in check. McCollum has done all the heavy lifting and deserves credit for sure but Hawks have largely gotten the series lead due to McCollum brilliance and Knicks ineptitude. Sadly that seems to be enough as of now

It’s insane that KAT is playing as well as this and they cannot win because of Brunson (and Mikal and Hart, of course, but if Brunson was playing just average they’d be 3-0).

I have stayed quiet for the last few months and this is why. Whatever IT is, these guys don’t have it. Podcasts, joking around, acting stupid – they are clowns. They had the single worst playoff loss last year and they are following it up with two more garbage losses. End this dumb season already and let us get on with it.

1

Yup. People want to talk about KAT’s defense or Brunson ball hogging but Mikal consistently starts and plays heavy minutes but does nothing.

KAT busted his ass tonight. OG may not always score like he did tonight but he shows up. Brunson is Brunson. Hart shot poorly but always works his ass off. Mikal just runs around out there. He’s a fucking fraud.

Towns 21 points, 11 rebounds, 3 dimes. 73 TS. Still can’t get enough shots.

Mikal played 20 minutes and had 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, zero stocks and 4 turnovers.

Unplayable. Frank Ntilikina level incompetence. Frank could at least fight through a screen.

OG 20 points and 8 rebounds on 72 TS. Two starters sitting on a 70 TS. His passing sucks , can he hit a big time Free throw , otherwise he’s been fine.

If we hadn’t thrown away game 2 this loss would have been almost meaningless, a typical desperation win by a team down 2-0.

Instead we’re on the fucking ropes

The reason you guys think we need another creator to help Brunson is because we don’t have a starting PG or good coach. We have an undersized SG controlling the ball and a coach that allows Brunson to do whatever he wants. If we had a real starting PG, more ball movement and actually ran plays instead of standing around and dribbling clock away we wouldn’t be taking so many tough shots. Granted they are defending Brunson really well with length and picking him up early, but instead of passing, he’s playing the same way. So clock ticks off and then we are in scramble mode driving into traffic and forcing trash or turning the ball over. It’s like watching some sick combination of the worst of Randle and Melo.

Mikal played 20 minutes and had 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, zero stocks and 4 turnovers.

He’s been so invisible I haven’t even noticed why.

There is an old saying, Mike Woodson used to repeat it a lot by the way, that you have to “put the players in position to succeed.” There is a reason that KAT, Brunson, I-Hart, Josh Hart, Randle, and others had career years in the previous seasons. And there is a reason Atlanta is outplaying us with an inferior roster. Alas, this franchise cannot handle prosperity.

Mitch is a minus 23 in this series

Highest plus minus on this team

Towns plus 30

Huh? Besides McCollum and an insane Kuminga performance, I struggle to find who on the Hawks has been killing us.

Ever thought of a guy by the name Quin Snyder?

The Hawks players, by the way, committed a series of individual mistakes down the stretch that helped us come back in the game.

Most good teams have multiple creators and imitators. More than one guy to bring the ball up the court. Deuce can barely do that. Can’t drive. I love OG but he can barely dribble unless it is a straight line. Mikal on the Nets could a little but not on the Knicks. So yeah Brunson needs some help. He can also do better but he can’t really play off the ball because they struggle with other players even bringing the ball up.

Mikal played 20 minutes and had 0 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, zero stocks and 4 turnovers.

0.8 TOs per draft pick

Or

1.4 TO/36 per draft pick

It’s not like the Hawks are some smart team, either! They made lots of dumb mistakes, too. And heck, why did they leave 12 seconds on the shot clock at the end of the game?!

1

during the season I said bring back Delon Wright. Has size and brings defense . Not really anybody like him on the roster .

Hot takes like hotcakes:

-Brunson is point guard Melo. Been saying it for years now. Unfortunately this is his 2014 season where he went from all-NBA level pointzz guy to barely playable. Just put a big wing in him and he’ll shoot us out of every game.
-Almost feels bad to beat a dead horse at this point but the Mikal trade was probably the worst transaction in NBA history. We paid five fucking 1rp for a player who aspires to be fucking average!
-I’d love to get Giannis but we can’t afford him because of the above.
-January 2024 was our peak for this decade
-G1 against Indy ended not just that playoff run, but the entire Brunson era. The only question remaining is whether management will realize this before the rest of the league does
-The ideal outcome is now to lose the next two games and firesale Brunson, Towns, and the rest. If we don’t, we’ll suck until 2040 instead of just 2030.
-Kerr is smart enough to run away from this dumpster fire so the biggest risk is that we try to run this back with Billy Donovan. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. Game 4 is a guaranteed blowout loss, but we need to stay consistent and lose game 5 and then we have a solid shot at cleaning house.

1

Hawks might get the number 1 pick and win this series. Is Landry fields still running things?

1

Brunson
Deuce
Hart
OG
Towns

Plus 24 in 14 minutes tonight

If that number isn’t a fluke and they can play like that in game 4 they might win

1

The one trade I could see Dolan doing and I wouldn’t like it

Towns for Anthony Davis

I remember getting savaged a bit because I was pointing out how bad Bridges was. That was maybe six weeks ago.
He is bad. And many first rounders for him.
And it’s okay to complain about that.
Shamet/Deuce would be better.

Shamet has made one shot in this series. Not taking many, but he’s on the team to shoot

Is Landry fields still running things?

No, he got fired. I believe he was gone before they picked up that Pelicans pick.

The frustration for me is at diff levels.

Mike Brown – being just as stubborn as Thibs. He was supposed to be the guy who was flexible and looked at data and made adjustments. Again he started the 4th with no real offensive threat in the game.

Brunson – Brunson is having a bad series. He’s still a great player. The frustration is that I used to hate on all those folks who said he wasn’t 1A, but they’re right. He’s too small , and can be worn down by bigger players and doubles in a way that the prototypical 6’7 wing does not. In addition, he’s just been absolutely terrible on Defense, worse than Towns. He sorta tries but doesn’t have the instincts or the physical tools to even be average on that end. He’s one of the worst defenders in the playoffs.

Bridges – complete utter disappointment and overpay not only on the picks but also the cap space he currently occupies and his diminishing trade value. Just competent starter level mins would help – he’s playing like a back end of the bench player with no confidence on either end, and just soft like Charmin in demeanor and play.

I If we want to be competent we need to trade Bridges. If we want to be a championship team, we can’t be Brunson and the Brunsonettes, we need someone better. We also need a genius level coach to make the best of whatever roster ultimately comes together — Brown is not that guy.

3

Seems I have returned to knickerblogger for the usual therapy….
Owen, what happened to Mitch tonight?
Seemed out of sorts.
I think Brown has screwed up this team.

Mitch minus 23 in this series . I doubt he want to play for Mike brown going forward . Rest him the regular season and not getting any playoff benefits .

1

Brunson in a deal for Giannis is the only viable deal or else your shuffling decks of chairs around the table .

Mikal will most likely go to a new team and look good- just be prepared , but it won’t be here.

To make matters worse, I lost in the final of the backgammon tournament bc my opponent rolled double 5’s or higher 4 times in 5 tries while I rolled a 4 3 times in 5 tries.

According to Claude, there was a 0.000805% chance of this happening, which translates to 1 in 124,000.

The winner got a designer watch. The runner up got ice cream.

Lucky for me I love ice cream bc everything else tonight sucked.

*something to note Brunson had the third highest selling Jersey in the NBA this past season .

So you are selling your most popular player since Melo which will cause issues among fans..

Look and what JJ Reddick is doing for the Lakers

I don’t want to hear anything about brown

It’s not like the Hawks are some smart team, either! They made lots of dumb mistakes, too. And heck, why did they leave 12 seconds on the shot clock at the end of the game?!

You have a lot of margin for error against mediocre noncontenders like us. Thev probably knew we would fail to get off a shot since that is our usual outcome in must-score possessions. Having the most predictable offense in the league doesn’t help there.

The Hawks don’t have to be smart to be a lot smarter that our crew of idiots and losers

Honestly between the ice cream and the fact that I didn’t watch this game
I feel like I got the best possible outcome tonight.

Anybody think Rick Carlisle could draw up plays for towns or Steve Kerr or any decent coach. Yeah, brown just sucks and KAT hating his system is proving correct.

Alas, the time to sell high on Brunson has passed. Like Bridges, he lost a step this year and he didn’t have one to spare. These are the wages of forsaking youth to target the mezzanine.

We’ll go right ftom swearing we’d never trade Brunson for Giannis to wishing we had when we had the chance.

Yeah, a lot of the coaches too smart to ever work for our dumpster fire of an organization could draw up a good ATO play but we’re only allowed to choose from established coaches that no one else wants so basic competency is kinda ruled out. Alas.

It’s a little early for a post mortem. When we started making our threes we were suddenly right back in the game. A few more games to go, people.

Why not put a bigger guy on CJ to end the game . Mitch on Oklngwu. Why is Mitch on the bench ? Why are you wasting OG on Okongwu. Diawara or Sochan could have defended CJ as well. Bad coaching

5 people I want to get rid of before this series is over:

1. Leon Rose
2. Leon Rose
3. Mike Brown
4. Mikal Bridges
5. Pags*

KAT showed some heart tonight based on what I’ve seen and heard. Good for him.

* sorry dude, you gotta read the room.

Why does this matter? If we had a lead down the stretch we’d have just gone to our patented prevent offense and given the game away. We literally need a lead so large that it’s physically impossible to choke it away. As we saw last year this is a lot larger than the entire NBA would have ever imagined. If we had been up 10 with 3 minutes to go it would have been anyone’s game

It’s one thing to have a bad game, that’s forgivable. The way Mikal played was inexcusable. He played with zero effort, made careless mistakes on both sides of the floor, made no effort on defense and didn’t make one impactful play. He was the worst player on the floor for either team.

As bad as his box score line looks, his actual play was even worse. I’m out on that guy forever. He’s a bum.

The Knicks can still win this, but it will be difficult in game 4 in the first quarter Brunson takes 9 shots to KAT’s 1 and Brunson has one whole assist in 12 minutes. Move the ball please!

I honestly wonder what on earth is going on in the locker room. Basketball isn’t rocket science. A bunch of fans can see the obvious flaws that even the slowest of the slow boys can see, yet nothing changes. It is kind of remarkable!

Egos mixed in with an over his head coach

Hard to select the most vexing aspect of last night, but the last ATO play was like a dagger in the groin.
