2025-26 Game Thread: Knicks @ Rockets – The Push to Win the Division Begins

The Knicks have only a few games left to make up the two game lead that the Celtics have in the Atlantic Division. The Knicks haven’t won the division in over a DECADE (and have only won it once in the last 32 years), so, well, I’d sure like them to win it this season.

They head to Houston to take on a dysfunctional Rockets team that hates each other (and a coach who hates the team, it appears, as well) with their Hall of Famer talking shit about everyone behind their backs. It’s hilariously fucked up.

Let’s go, Knicks!

The division is in play, which makes me say, “Hooray!”

Houston is a very good physical team. It would be great if we could get the W tonight – for the standings and for team psychology. We have a very mediocre 20-18 road record this season with only two wins against top teams, one in Boston and one in Denver. This sounds depressing and telling regarding the probable outcome tonight, but, again, think how exhilarating it would be to come out victorious!

This is beginning to look eerily similar to the horrible final week of last season…

It they could only remember that KD is a good shooter and they need to stay with him!

Yeah this Knicks team is beyond desperate for the regular season to end already.

I’d say that was our worst quarter of the season but there’s a lot of candidates

OT

I’m going to see Duke Robilliard tomorrow at Daryl’s House. I can’t wait.

I knew we’d come back like teams always do in the first half.

But we’ll be climbing out of a hole the whole game

I still have not 100% adapted to the modern NBA, where a 17 point first quarter deficit is a minor inconvenience

Its so fucking difficult rooting for this team…

i am in nyc for the next two weeks and choosing to avoid going to MSG because I don’t trust this team to show up on a given night…

am going to the yankee game this saturday night though…

Man pepper as much as I bitch and moan about this team I’d love to see them play at MSG! Seen them play down here a bunch of times but never at MSG, heck I haven’t been back to NYC since summer of 2014 when I did get to see Jeter play at Yankee Stadium one last time.

Honestly the regular season MSG experience is just exhausting at this point. Ticket prices are insane and there’s not a reasonably priced concession in the building. It’s simply not worth it.

I’ll still let myself get bilked for the playoffs though.

yeah…the cost benefit equation at MSG is dubious…not that yankee stadium is any better…

I honestly can’t wait to see Thibs’ face when this team gets bounced in the first round.

It probably sounds hypocritical coming from me but no matter how bad Knicks finish the regular season they aren’t losing in the 1st rd.
