Next step for Deuce is learning to take some contact at the rim. He’s put the fear of god into defenders from behind the arc but still has Mikal level aversion to contact.
Just once it would be nice for the opposing team not to start the game on fire. Feels like the Knicks have played pretty good defense so far but it hasn’t mattered.
Brunson has been committing some really dumb turnovers lately.

Well shit midway thru the 1st quarter if you would’ve told me Knicks will only be down 2 at halftime I would’ve gladly taken it so can’t be upset by the halftime score.
KAT only played 13 minutes in the half. He wasn’t scoring but he was getting rebounds and assists. I don’t know why ao few minutes. Mark Williams is playing better than I expected.
PHX might not be a contender but they are a fun team to root for. And wtf were the Lakers thinking when they rescinded the Mark Williams trade?

All in all, pretty entertaining game thus far.
Deuce is averaging only 27mpg. Anything less than 32 minutes should be considered a fireable offense by Mike Brown.

I was just coming on to complain about how nobody is bitching about the refs, so now I have to. The refs SUCK.

The refs decided to change the game with absolutely embarrassing bad calls. Booker and Dillon have been parading to the line with less contact and Knicks get mauled by not good defensive but overly aggressively fouling that is not being called
The calls are bad and they’re allowing us to get mauled up and down the court which seems like the consensus in the NBA- the refs will let us get mugged up and down the court and until we make the shift like we did against Detroit it will be more of the same.
OG has been bad for a number of games now. Did something happen to this team in Vegas?
This is the way the game is called now. Every time we play an aggressive team, we (and the players) bitch and moan, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. We are not going to “ref”our ways to wins. If we are soft, we are going to get beat by these kinds of teams.
It’s not the refs. It’s us. No urgency, no grit. We should have killed them in the paint but we don’t do that. Our 3pt defense is atrocious. And so on. Still one quarter to go. If we defend well, we have a chance.

This team is fucking stupid. They didn’t run a single play since after tying the game, playing terrible offensive possession after terrible offensive possession, kept the two bigs in to allow no space. So many stupid decisions.

Brunson has become a bit too predictable. Sometimes you just have to trust someone else to make a play.
They tried in the fourth, it was obvious. They got to the loose balls, got all the rebounds, got second chances. Unfortunately, they were very-very tense on the offensive end. It shouldn’t have come down to that. They should have behaved better throughout the game.

This season is looking more and more like its headed towards 1990 or 1996 territory…
It hurts to lose, but we played mostly ok I thought. Some terrible mistakes from Jalen down the stretch. That isn’t going to happen often.

I didn’t like that we were manhandled for most of the game, just like in some of our other losses. We have to toughen up and play all game like we did in the 4th quarter.
Was surprised to read that refs are calling more fouls this year than last. But the eye test says we’re getting roughed up more this year.
Until last summer, we had a coach who was trying to win every single game as if it was game 7. Game preparation, strategy, focus, minutes distribution, physicality, grit, and much more play into such approach. A lot of people were furious with it. For better or worse, it’s different this year. We have been witnessing it. Don’t be surprised if we end up a few spots lower in the standings in April compared to last year. I think we shouldn’t because the roster is much better this season, but who knows. I will leave it at this.
