2024 Playoff Thread: Knicks vs Sixers, Game 4, Whiny Jerk Embiid Opener, which is a thing

The whole world now knows that Joel Embiid is a whiny jerk, and this game is the “opener” to the world of that fact, so let’s hope that he has a terrible game, and the Knicks destroy the Sixers.

Sadly, Mitchell Robinson will miss the game, but hopefully Sims has some…ahem…hard fouls this afternoon. Six of them, preferably, then Precious can be the real backup center.

The Knicks don’t need this one, but come on, they need this one. Let’s start the series, as Pat Riley defines it!

Let’s go, Knicks!

(Sorry for the delay, I’m in upstate New York on a long-planned trip, and the internet suuuuucks)

The refs just called a foul on I-Hart. It’s their way of warming up for the game.

So do we think Embiid will try to injure IHart in the first half or second? I am guessing second. I think IHart frustrates him, he doesn’t get a couple calls to open the half and he “falls” into IHart’s leg in the 3rd quarter.

ABC here doesn’t have the game coming in until 1:30CT. They better unscrew that up.

Thank God it’s just a time screw up. My app thinks I’m Eastern time for some reason. 😂

I fully expect a blowout loss today followed by a close loss at home and our season ending in game 6. Embiitch’s dirty plays ended our season and the league looked the other way.

Just waiting for it to be over at this point. Haven’t posted much of late because seeing the rigged nature if this league laid so bare has killed my interest in this series and rhus postseason.

When we get back to MSG, I’m expecting non stop “Fvck Embiid” chants.

Beat the Thug!

(and I mean actually physically beat him…)

Here we go again, absurd call for Lowry, I’m going to vomit before the end of this game…

That was crap. He initiated that foul. I’ve never seen someone hunt a player on the floor to “trip” over him and get a foul.

It looked like Embiid tripped Brunson, then Lowry stepped on Brunson while he was on the floor. Am I biased or was that crazy to call a foul on Brunson?

Knocking a player down and then intentionally tripping over their fallen body while shooting a three = a savvy veteran play that the announcers need to slobber on Lowry’s knob over.

I’m turning this off, I might be done with this league and its bullshit at this point. Why won’t they just let us watch some basketball?

Listening to the ESPN crew on the pregame show was painful.

They all had Embiid’s dick in their mouth.

The broadcast isn’t much better. Stepping on Brunson is savvy? Then whining about Maxey’s foul? This is gonna be rough

Listening to the ESPN crew on the pregame show was painful.

Listening to Richard Jefferson is painful too.

Richard Jefferson is horrible. Why do we have to listen to him? He called that foul on Maxey 50/50. Already I see refs/commenters sucking the Sixers dick

At least you guys can watch. I’m stuck on a damn wildlife show for 8 more minutes. Unbelievable.

It’s early but probably already a good time for my daily we could use Randle comment.

Why is this game not on MSG. Big sigh. The Nets broadcasting crew for a Knicks game on national tv.

Pags digging deep into the Bag of Poetic Doom! 🤣 Let’s Go Knicks!

Ruocco gets clearly more excited when the Sixers score. It’s like he’s the home team announcer. .

Actually, I think I have the ABC announcers. They are super biased towards Philly. They are now walking their reaction back. Trying to look more objective.

That was not a good challenge at all. There’s always contact on these plays. And now you are likely done for the game.

Listening to the pre game show and the sympathy for Embiid with his vision and his legs. Vomit.

Again. If they’re gonna give Embiid the shots, anyway, make the foul count.

Not gonna win this challenge.

Okay, then. Go Thibs.

Maybe this is to try to show the ticky-tack calls that Embiid gets. The hope is that even if it doesn’t go the Knicks way maybe they swallow their whistle a bit.

Philly needs to save his challenges for high leverage situations. The Knicks don’t even get the ball here.

Trying to watch this after giving up on the series when Embiid got rewarded for his bullshit, and yet again it’s more of the same. Fuck Embiid.

OMG who is this bitch announcer talking about Hart laying down?

I can’t take this shit they’re outright trolling us.

Might have to watch on mute, that comment by Jefferson about Hart was atrocious

I’ve actually turned off the sound as the announcers are making me livid. Although the game is, too. I may ditch this and do almost anything else.

When the foul is in the Knicks they are not 50 50 according to Jefferson.

We’re getting great looks but we’re missing open shots. Thibs needs to tell his guys to make all their threes like Spo does.

I’m numb at this point. The mask is off, this is pro wrestling and I don’t think I can ever un-see it.

It really doesn’t matter what we do on the court
The Embiitch redemption arc has been written and the refs and media will see it through.

ABC/ESPN is going to ruin basketball coverage. They are too consistently awful these days. They had a great thing going and were too stupid to stay with it.

We lost this series when Embiid injured Mitch. iHart can’t stop him and Thibs won’t try anyone else.

This wouldn’t be as hard to watch if self-admitted Knick hater Richard Jefferson wasn’t on commentary.

I actually think Precious should be on (and fouling) Embiid with the starters. iHart is obvs worried about fouling and his passing and floater game is easier against their backups

Other than maybe a missed call or two on Hart under the basket and that absurd Lowry foul the refs are fine. But the officiating in the series so far has the Knicks scared to really contest Embiid.

But mostly we need to make shots.

17 fucking points, how can we hope to win scoring 17 fucking points in a quarter?

Getting killed on boards in addition to shit shooting. Lucky Philly also missing 3’s.

Sixers are shooting as bad as we are. We are outmatched and with their whistle we don’t even have to possibility to get lucky. We’d be losing even if we were hitting more than half our threes.

Normally I would say my usual “First quarter leads are meaningless” but Embiid is just killing us and there aren’t a lot o of oprions to slow him down.

We need a #2 scorer, that’s Donte, he needs to get hot and fast or this is trouble

Other than maybe a missed call or two on Hart under the basket and that absurd Lowry foul the refs are fine. But the officiating in the series so far has the Knicks scared to really contest Embiid.

But mostly we need to make shots.

This. They only really had to rig one game for our players to get the message

Other than maybe a missed call or two on Hart under the basket and that absurd Lowry foul the refs are fine. But the officiating in the series so far has the Knicks scared to really contest Embiid.

It looked like Harris pushed off Brunson on a shot but they never showed it again. Even the announcers mentioned it.

I’m full on Pagliacci mode with this, fucking Embiid should not even be playing this game if we had serious refereeing in this league, so why bother. I’ll just go do something else and leave the game on mute.

I thought the Knicks got great looks and just missed. Nothing really forced. The process was good, it sucks that the results weren’t there.

Knicks scared to really contest Embiid.

This is the thing. That’s why someone/Precious/Sims needs to come in *expecting the foul calls and just re-set where Embiid can stand, etc.

Joel is gonna play well, fine, but he’s not breaking a sweat: not fine.

Mitch was our ace in that respect. I hope he’s getting whatever he needs. Also, I think Mitch re-injured himself on that weird play when he lost his shoe, if anyone saw it.

I don’t know how you guard Embiid if any contact gets whistles. He gets into your body but if you push back it’s a foul. I think the Knicks need to risk fouls. I can’t believe he made it all the way through a quarter and didn’t hit the ground once. That’s bad Knicks defense. We need to knock him down.

now Bojan is out on another dirty play…

My only hope for the rest of this series is that we seriously injure Embiid.

Wait Thibs isn’t going to react to Mitch being out by playing iHart 42 minutes, is he?

See, iHart is gonna do well against the second team. Drive; foul; shots. He shouldn’t really be out there that much with Embiid.

Plus he was on minutes restriction like a minute ago, so …

Now iHart must come out when he should continue to feast.

Are we allowed to draft a couple of MMA fighters and maybe a WWE wrestler in the 2nd round for next season just to kick their fvcking asses in a brawl next year?

We were due for a shooting regression. Really I don’t see how we can possibly win another game. Nurse seems to have waved s magic wand and neutralized our huge rebounding edge completely without any side effects at all. Thibs in another display of chivalry never targets Embiid at all and meekly accepted the game 3 officiating. It’s Miami all over again.

I don’t know how you guard Embiid if any contact gets whistles.

I mean, but that’s the reffing issue right there though, right?

Every Knick fights through a lot of contact, Embiid never does

Yeah, Precious has been good defensively. Hopefully he can at least have solid hands on offense and grab some offensive rebounds.

Sucks that being down 4 in this matchup may as well be 40 since Embiid can just manufacture FTs or get away with an offensive foul to score any time he wants, with a bonus chance to injure another one if our players

To me a worrying thing about the offense is how few 3pt shots they are generating.

IHart may need to play the whole second half.

Thibs’s unwavering belief in next man up can work against him in matchups like this. He should just concede no offense from our center when Embiid is on the floor. Instruct Sims or Precious to just shadow Joel and get in his head and foul him on every action to the basket. Make him fucking work.

With iHart it’s the worst of both. He plays tentative D bc he wants to stay on the floor and it sets the tone for all D. Plus he can’t score or really rebound against him.

Someone else said try JHart on Embiid. Not a bad idea. We need the Worm.

Deuce just fouled Embiid. He hit the floor. That’s a good result.

Brunson MVP chants in Phllly!! The ultimate insult! I’m telling ya, there is something about this team that needs adversity to play their best. Losing Bogey woke them up!

Brunson just needs one teammate to show up today. Donte, it would be nice of you to join us!

Nice little monologue rom Jefferson on why Embiid deserves a 50% higher FTA rate than anyone else

I see Nurse is doing his show again

He must have a failed sitcom audition tape somewhere

How the fuck do we keep leaving Maxey open for corner 3s?

Because he’s really fast to get there?

IMO Bringing iHart back is a mistake. This is the crucial 3 minutes of the game.

When Oubre is making 3s and Divo isn’t, you’re probably not going to win.

OG got foul on that drive. The difference here is anytime the Knicks drive to the hoop, there’s a legit case for a foul but it’s not called. For Embiid, it’s ALWAYS called

IMO Bringing iHart back is a mistake. This is the crucial 3 minutes of the game

iHart seems to be playing a little passively, perhaps to avoid foul trouble. I would expect him to be more assertive in the second half.

With iHart it’s the worst of both. He plays tentative D bc he wants to stay on the floor and it sets the tone for all D. Plus he can’t score or really rebound against him.

I like that we let iHart play some some of the Paul Reed minutes before putting Precious in. Thibs should engineer more of that. Precious isn’t killing us, and he doesn’t have to worry about fouls as much as iHart

Lmao the rare foul on Embiid is of course transferred to someone else

Yeah, I thought Precious got him to bite, but then change.

Announcers are just protecting the NBA brand in case Embiid is hoisting the trophy at the end. They can’t be calling that guy a dirty player (and showing us why) beforehand.

I like that we let iHart play some some of the Paul Reed minutes before putting Precious in. Thibs should engineer more of that. Precious isn’t killing us, and he doesn’t have to worry about fouls as much as iHart

Exactly. And we should be pushing at Embiid all the time he’s in and Hack a Shaqing him to get him exhausted and befuddled.

But Thibs has pride in his system. I get it.

OG trying to answer the call. And Deuce.

Another fucking terrible call in Philly’s favor and it gets FTA thanks to prior absurd calls in Embiitch’s favor

Did you guys notice how many plays Embiid took off? Like not even joining the play or crossing halfcourt.

Somehow we gave up open threes on two of those plays

OG was great that half but a couple of his reckless drives lead to Philly fastbreaks and open 3s.

Well, when i turned it on we were losing by 8 and now it’s only 2. Let’s win this!

Did you guys notice how many plays Embiid took off?

Yes. And I liked OG going at him even with the miss. Easily could have been a foul. Brunson did the same on his make. Get the lion tired. Win the 4th.

Let’s GO!

This is a heck of a series. Will be a shame to end it in 5.

Always feels like we are just one element away from taking charge.

I think OG was fouled on both of those drives.

Great first half, despite the ineptitude from 3. If we progress to the mean in the 2nd half we win. Let’s go!

seriously down two considering how we’ve played is incredible. Philly is really in love with the three, but not getting much otherwise.

We have these fuckers right where want ‘em! Just gotta come out in the 3rd in total beast mode and stomp on their throats.

I think OG was fouled on both of those drives.

Agree. And even though we gave up fast breaks, I think we can live with Lowry hoisting long threes and missing rather than Embiid backing iHart into the paint and dropping two and 1

This is a heck of a series. Will be a shame to end it in 5.

Yeah, but i’ll take it. 😛

If OG keeps going at Embiid like that all game Nic Batum may fouled out by the end of the 3rd quarter

Be nice if we can do better than 44% on FT’s. OG really stepped up on the boards, not usually his forte. iHart, with 0 fouls can be a bit more aggressive. DiVo needs to find his mojo. Winnable game.

@sny_knicks:
Jalen Brunson at halftime –
23 points
2 rebounds
7 assists
10/15 FG
1/4 3P

If OG keeps going at Embiid like that all game Nic Batum may fouled out by the end of the 3rd quarter

LOL. Sad, but true 😉

EDIT: Give us some DOOM, Pags, just to tee it up for the second half.

As much as I detest Philly for many reasons, I think the Batum play where Bogey was injured was an unintentional sequalae of a clean basketball play, diving for a loose ball.

I like the plan of going straight to Embiid, but they have to go hard and he will move out of the way.

Deuce has absolutely no problem taking (and often making) the big shots.

Funny how the Knicks have scored more in the paint and have fewer FTAs than Philly.

If Maxey keeps hitting these contested mid range shots he’s unguardable.

Donte’s having as bad a game as I’ve ever seen from a Knick in the playoffs

BPL it’s truly amazing how many unfortunate sequelae of clean basketball play have injured our guys in recent playoff series, isn’t it?

Thibs, no. Don’t always “help” on Embiid. Especially beyond the arc. It’s just creating panic. Just body him.

Terrible defense all game on the corners. In transition Knicks are keeping 2-3 guys in the middle and not covering out. Bad scheme. In the half court they are leaving Maxey every time. Bad scheme. Thibs fault.

Donte + Hart = 0 for 8, 1 pt

Come on, guys. All you gotta do is show up and we got this.

Brunson gets going finally and the other key guys disappear. Divo doesn’t even look interested out there. Unacceptable.

Well that didn’t take long. Game over. The Embiitch minutes have the fell of Heat/Celtics, minus fluky shooting by the weaker team. I wish I’d bet Sixers in 6. After today we are huge underdogs for the series

Thibs, no. Don’t always “help” on Embiid. Especially beyond the arc. It’s just creating panic. Just body him.

They’re scared to get fouls on iHart.

Put Precious on him for 3 minutes, play man, let iHart dominate Paul Reed, keep him fresh and foul free for the stretch.

Donte + Hart = 0 for 8, 1 pt

In Deuce we trust. And those OG points are basically free and surprising them. If any of that keeps up, they’ll keep shaking their heads.

Aa much as I love Thibs he has been badly outcoached. Again. In a series we are only in due to his hubris.

OMG that Embiid play.

Fuck him, man. Why can’t they review that???

Challenge it, Thibs

Stopped watching a while back, but checked the box and it’ll be hard to win shooting 21% from three…

BPL it’s truly amazing how many unfortunate sequelae of clean basketball play have injured our guys in recent playoff series, isn’t it?

Not really… Embiid’s play was dirty. Batum legitimately dove for a loose ball on the floor with Bogey tugging on his wrist and he landed on Bogey’s ankle. Mass warps the fabric of spacetime and gravity did its work. I’m not sure how he avoids Bogey in real life.

Brunson just needs one other Nova Knick to join this fight and we got this.

Can we just put Sims in to clock fucking Embiid across the head?

We need an enforcer like they have in hockey.

We can’t allow them to beat us up without drawing some of their blood. This is 90s throwback basketball. Take off heads!

Embiid looking a little cooked, Sixers falling to take advantage of their lead

Jalen Brunson plays some beautiful basketball

Brunson just needs one other Nova Knick to join this fight and we got this.

yep….

If Brunson was hitting from deep this game would be over already.

Hart & Donte are up to 0-10.

Are we sure we don’t want to try Alec Burks for 3 minutes today?

Everyone else is here. We can’t lose this game bc they lay double eggs.

Time for Brunson to get hot and start coolkin’. Oh…and Hart and Divo and Deuce too!

I never notice this sort of thing but Philly had this possession where Embiid ambled into the corner and just stayed there.

We have a fake Nova Knick on the bench called Deuce McBride that can play the role better than the originals. This is the shit we actually get pissed at Thibs about. Put the guy that can hit shots in the game!

Think it’s time to bench Donte and ride Deuce for the rest of the game.

Some fan base is going to be really pissed after this game. Too bad the extracurricular BS has marred two very good teams.

Are we sure we don’t want to try Alec Burks today?

Are the G-League playoffs happening?

JB is just special. Let’s go.

Batum legitimately dove for a loose ball

Yeah, plus one on this. Unfortunate, but just basketball IMO

Are we sure we don’t want to try Alec Burks today?

I was thinking the same thing. Our guys are gonna be exhausted in the 4th quarter

I wish we’d just go down 20 already there is no chance we’ll ever have a lead in this

Never lose faith in your shooters. Take advantage of the extra attention they are about to pay to JB and find open shots on the perimeter.

These are the minutes Thibs needs to give iHart off. Embiid’s just foul hunting.

FTs for Embiitch right on cue the second I turn the game back on. Estimated time of turning off again: 2 minutes

I wish we’d just go down 20 already there is no chance we’ll ever have a lead in this

I mean why not wish for another injury while you’re at it buddy…

THAT’s the shit I hate from iHart. It’s gonna get called. Knock him.

It’s amazing how when the Sixers need a basket they go for an Embiid post up knowing he will get a call.

These are the minutes Thibs needs to give iHart off. Embiid’s just foul hunting.

WAKE UP, THIBS!

Another clear foul on Brunson on Payne’s “block from behind” and yet MORE fta fir Embiitch. Turning off

Philly just gonna go right at iHart every play now what the fuck is Thibs doing?

iHart doing dumb shit though. Keep your hands off his body when he driving.

You can’t get hooked if your arms aren’t on his chest.

I don’t brook a lot of Thibs crit, but why iHart was still out there… Not smart

Thibs, you totally fucked up the iHart situation this game. Precious should have come in early the quarter and battled. IHart now must leave with tail between legs. Mistake.

ACL tear or literally nothing at all? Joel always keeps you guessing.

The next time Embiid dies something dirty the victim needs to straight tackle him. Hopefully right at his knee. You might get suspended but someone needs to stand up to him.

MORE FT for Embiitch this is fucking unwatchable. The announcers doth protest too much with the constant assurances that all the fouls are 100% legit

Brunson is bringing it today. Just like DJ Khaled said in the halftime report. 😉

Incredible fight to be up 1 despite Embiid’s parade to the line and continuing lack of calls on Knicks drives to the hoop (the contact is the same as Embiid fouls)

I don’t mind the non calls, what I mind is the lack of consistency.

This ^^^^^^^^^^

And be more alert for Embiid’s dirtiness!

Even with 5 fouls, iHart should play the minutes with Embiid on the bench. He won’t pick up a foul covering Paul Reed, and winning those minutes is critical to the game.

This is a great fucking game.

And this ^^^^^^^^^^

I’m feeling back in the 90s again! 🙂

Really a shame that a great performance by Brunson will be overshadowed by Embiitch FT practice. Sucks that he has to actually make field goals to score.

Now he’s hurt on top of it, guess who is responsible

Really loved the interview while waiting hear why Brunson was off the floor. Great stuff ABC!

Even with 5 fouls, iHart should play the minutes with Embiid on the bench.

Yes.

How many AWFUL shots are Philly hitting? That Cam Payne 3 was a terrible shot he lucky got in

Now he’s hurt on top of it, guess who is responsible

It was Lowry, not Embiid.

pagliaccisays:

Brunson is hurt. Game over and series over i guess.

you must be fun at parties… and funerals.

Things look great but this feels like the point where the foul hunting begins and the refs oblige.

Nurse is in a bad position. Embiid has been in the whole half. He’s going to get slower and slower.

Embiid has been in the whole half. He’s going to get slower and slower.

Make it so.

Precious can’t score for his life but he makes it easier to put OG on Embiid

I just can’t believe we sucked for 20 years and didn’t get to watch basketball like this…

Need to get the ball moving around the perimeter to get shots for OG and Deuce in the corners.

It’s going to be overturned. Bad call from the ref. Maxey never stepped out of bounds.

Nick Nurse is the guy behind all of us in any line complaining loudly on his phone about the service person taking too long.

Thibs is, of course, the beleaguered manager of the establishment, trying to reset the register’s POS system.

Smart of Nurse to save his challenge. Outcoached agai. They’ll tie it with a 3 this possession and bring it home with an Embiitch FT parade

Maxey is a great player. Leon wanted him, but then he had to settle for Obi.

Shouldn’t be a legal timeout there since maxey never secured possession.

Maxey is a great player. Leon wanted him, but then he had to settle for Obi.

IQ

Maxey is a great player. Leon wanted him, but then he had to settle for Obi.

You mean IQ?

We would fucking destroy this team with Julius

Edit: and probably with a healthy Mitch

How do you grant a timeout when Deuce has a hand on the ball?

Because the NBA wanted to pretend Nurse called for timeout in game 2.

Trying to watch and not comment but that time Embiid stepped in Hart’s leg seemed pretty intentional to me

You mean IQ?

Yeah, i was remembering it wrong. He wanted Maxey with our 2nd pick. Should’ve taken him with the 8th pick.

The biggest problem today is that Divo gave us almost nothing. Hart contributes in plenty of other ways, but if Divo isn’t shooting the 3 we’ll, no bueno

OG on Embiid has been a masterclass he’s too tired to beat the front consistently

This is some incredible defense down the stretch.

We really discovered something with Precious & OG being able to switch so effectively on & off Embiid

Jalen Brunson needs to win the championship this year so that there are no arguments that he’s the greatest Knick player of all time.

When the refs are actually decent we can have a good game on both sides.

We really discovered something with Precious & OG being able to switch so effectively on & off Embiid

100% on target with this.

OG on Embiid, Precious on Oubre, and doubling Maxey and Embiid is so good. We have the footspeed on the floor to make every rotation to recover from the doubles.

Damn. I think OG should’ve shot it all alone at the nail and Hart should’ve also taken the open 3. I guess it did burn some clock.

I think if Hart had fouled out we’d be in huge trouble. That man is key to this team going anywhere.

We really discovered something with Precious & OG being able to switch so effectively on & off Embiid

Ironically, I’m pretty sure Nick Nurse discovered that

Jesus Christ Hart shoot the fvcking ball

Exactly. He was open from 3P, and even if he misses we grab a lot of rebounds after missed 3Ps.

Not an ideal possession ending without a shot, but used all the clock… Now we should get the call back on this incorrect call. I think…

Embiid holding onto OGs jersey dragging him through Lowry.

Jeezus effing Christos, I shouldn’t have started watching again.

Phenomenal D

If Hart made 1 of 2, game over

But if we get the ball in, still in control

Nurse played with fire leaving Embiid in the whole second half. He was spent and a big reason we got all those offensive rebounds

I take it all back. Refs just wanted Brunson to break Bernard King’s record.

Hart + Precious = 0 for 12 and no one’s mad at them.

OG on Embiid was incredible. That’s a much better matchup for him than Maxey

How the fuck did I survive all the 90’s playoff games cause this shit is too damn stressful!

LETS FUCKING GO KNICKS!!!!!!

Also I know people are worried about sports betting causing points shaving, but are we sure Josh didn’t miss those shots for the free chicken????

Josh 17 rebounds, OG 14 rebounds. Precious 4 blocks.

But I suppose Jalen still gets the game ball…

That was for all the haters and doubters who thought Precious wouldn’t step up in the playoffs (me)

What a fucking team!

Down Robinson, Randle and Bojan but they beat the 76ers on the road!

TRUE NY WARRIORS!

The Knicks won a road playoff game against the league-protected MVP while shooting 25% from 3.

I ran a marathon this morning, but watching this game was more exhausting.

Nurse played with fire leaving Embiid in the whole second half. He was spent and a big reason we got all those offensive rebounds

No 2 days off this time, either

Did Embiid Ben Simmons that play?

No, Precious blocked him. As someone pointed out, we may have discovered something with Precious/OG out there – though Embiid might have been so tired that that was more the cause.

Tremendous effort, they wore Embiid out completely. Props to Nick Nurse for being more of a minute psycho than Thibs

That defense the last 5 minutes of the 4th was elite. Precious! Like Clyde would say, “like Lazarus, he’s risen from the dead!”

This was an F-U to the media, experts, and everyone else who doubted us. I fucking love this team!

That last play? That was Embiid choking, as usual, when he doesn’t get bailed out by fouls. He had a completely open mid range shot and decided he would rather foul bait instead of taking it. Mental midget, god it feels good to beat this motherfucker.

Serious question, do any of the TV experts still think Brunson is too small to be a 1a? lmao

Glad we finally got OG on Embiid. If we can mostly get away with single coverage on him and Deuce on Maxey with marching orders not to gamble or overhelp off of Maxey, I think that’s our Death lineup.

How did we all survive the 90s? I need some Valium or something.

If I took my blood pressure during that game I would have called 911.

The Sixers look beaten

Damn — MSG could charge $19.95 Pay Per View to watch the metally defeated 76ers on the Drive back up to the Garden for Game 5.

I would pay.

I can’t believe they stuck Breen on the Mavs game instead of Knicks/Sixers

What a great win. I wasn’t able to watch this one either, and I’m thankful to have y’all Knickerbloggers giving me commentary as I try to steal glances at the score on Gamecast. Can’t wait to watch the highlights of this one.

Props to Nick Nurse for being more of a minute psycho than Thibs

The problem is they can’t even tread water without him. If I were Nurse I’d use Joel and his whistle to get the Knicks in the penalty and then sit him the rest of each quarter while Maxey drew fouls

Has there ever been a player like Brunson? What an unbelievable, incredible, mysterious, sci-fi magical win. Wow.

Precious and Josh Hart combining to go 0-12 with 25 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 blocked shots is hilarious

I can’t believe they stuck Breen on the Mavs game instead of Knicks/Sixers

Breen doesn’t have enough BANGS for what Brunson did today.

Eddie Futch (as played by Joel Embiid) threw in the towel at the end of the 11th round…. and so ends his legend in disgrace.

Precious and Josh Hart combining to go 0-12 with 25 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 blocked shots is hilarious

LOL. Two Dennis “Rodmen”

This is the most I’ve loved any Knicks team in at least 25 years, if not going 30.

All Embiid did on offense after the first quarter was draw fouls against iHart. He only made 2 baskets after the first.

They’re mostly healthy and we’re banged up to all hell and we’re still ripping their hearts out

Is it Dennis Rodmen or Dennises Rodman?

LOL. Great question. I suppose we must defer to Doogie (from whom we haven’t heard today (I think)).

EDIT: Thibs in the post game conference is basically explaining all of Hustlebunny basketball. I hope Nurse is not listening.

Despite Evil Embiid the Knicks had 19 personal fouls to the Sixers’ 24.

Nurse said nothing about the officials. “Gotta play better.” His most snark (and punchable face) came when he was asked if it was odd hearing his crowd cheering the Knicks. Hahaha.

Listening to the pressers, I almost hate to say it, but I really like this Maxey, kid. Seems like good people.

The quick turnaround both helps and hurts us. Helps in the fact that Embiid played like 43 mins and probably has to do same Tuesday. And he looked gassed in the 4th. Hurts in that now Bogey joins Mitch as banged up bench players. Bench is now ultra thin so Hart and OG gonna play 44+ mins. Precious gotta give good minutes (and make a layup/dunk plz) again.

Also I know people are worried about sports betting causing points shaving, but are we sure Josh didn’t miss those shots for the free chicken????

What I would pay to see the team bus roll in to the nearest Chick-fil-A and eat free chicken

This is a Thibs win if there ever was one. Brunson, Hart and OG all played 40 min like it was nothing. Your 3rd string center – who you helped become a good defensive anchor – helps shut down the MVP. So much toughness all around, without any real shotmaking outside of JB.

Nurse decided to play Brunson straight and just stop the role players. He tried it last game as well. It seemed to be working at the start, and the Embiid-focused commentary on ABC was vomit-inducing. Everybody had us for dead by the middle of the third quarter. But his team! This fucking team! They are true winners! They never, never, never quit! Brunson got his own, and Thibs made the gutsy call to keep the more mobile OG and Achiuwa alternating on the coverage of the Philly Scumbag until the end. They were bodying him up and doubling only close to the paint. Philly was totally lost, and the Knicks defensive display was incredible, particularly for the last 15 minutes or so. Doubling and quickly recovering, quick rotations, quick closeouts on threes, box-outs, wow! This was defense for graduate level seminars 😊 As those offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter, one after another, after another! What a joy! Had we made just a few of the many-many open shots, this would have been a blowout.

No dirty plays, no injuries, no refs could save the Sixers today. And they have NOTHING to complain about. We are just the better team, and BY FAR the better coached team. It will forever remain a guessing how far this team could go with Julius Randle in the lineup.

Listening to the pressers, I almost hate to say it, but I really like this Maxey, kid. Seems like good people.

Agreed. Such an incredibly positive young man. His likability is off the charts.

I want to see the “Embiid with his head slumped down in the locker room” interview

Yeah watching Maxey, hard not to like him – no excuses, keeping it positive.

Yeah of all the Philly players only one I’ve grown to have alot of respect for after this series is Maxey.

Yeah OGs offense wasn’t great but it was good enough and exactly what the team needed

I know Precious is far from perfect but I think there’s a place for him here as a Randle understudy*, I really think he could bloom into a genuine 7th or 8th man with a couple more years tutelage from Thibs and it seems likely we could keep him on the cheap

*assuming of course that Randle is not traded in the next year or two

I’m just gonna be honest here – this shit ain’t good for my health…

finally turned the game on with 4:42 left, somehow I survived…

watching maxey’s post game – dang, his arms are huge for his frame…

maxey seems like an awesome person…great player…

kyle lowry is hella shifty, stole that point off OG at the end…

What a fucking game!

Brunson was amazing. But OG, Precious, Hart and McBride all stepped up. Or enough is being said about the series McBride is having. When Brunson was in the locker he hit that huge three to kind of keep us afloat. He has not shied away at all and has given us a big shot off the bench.

But precious being able to come in like that after IHart picked up the 5th foul and play the entire 4th like that was incredible.

I think Philly gave it their all and we punched back. I expect us to close out Tuesday especially if Mitch can get back. We gotta do it and hopefully bucks and pacers goes to 7 and our guys get a chance to heal up a bit.

So so happy that Brunson now holds the Knicks playoff scoring record.

JB’s masterpiece, OG’s definitive Knicks game, J-Hart and Precious “best of worst” games, but don’t sleep on Deuce’s 13 points and DDV’s back to back threes, both players stepped up in moments where our offense was sinking…

Edit: Swifty beat me to it 😀

Thibs outcoaching Nurse is truly something I didn’t expect.

This is mistimed and lacking respect. There’s a reason people say Nick Thibodeau, not Tom Nurse.

A lot less terrifying, too.

this shit ain’t good for my health…

LOL. For real.

Jalen also VERY composed and decent in the presser. I hope I live long enough to see him win (more) championships as a coach.

Nick Nruse got to coach a stacked raptors team with peak kawhi that faced a depleted warriors team. I’m not saying he’s a bad coach but thibs is a really fucking good coach. One of the best in the league. Coaches get a certain aura if they get a championship but that doesn’t mean they’re the best.

It wasn’t OG off Maxey so much as it was OG on Embiid and having Precious at “C” who can keep up with Oubre on the perimeter.

They should have Hartenstein “on” Oubre to help out against Embiid. Give Oubre the Josh Hart treatment.

This is mistimed and lacking respect. There’s a reason people say Nick Thibodeau, not Tom Nurse.

It wasn’t meant that way. I like Thibs a lot. But one criticism – and it could have been his rosters – was his lack of creativity. And yet, here he is making incredible adjustments on the fly, something that Nurse is generally known for.

It wasn’t OG off Maxey so much as it was OG on Embiid and having Precious at “C” who can keep up with Oubre on the perimeter.

That was certainly the best part, but I thought OG was great defensively before that happened, mucking up a bunch of Sixers plays and getting a ton of rebounds. It also prevented Maxey from driving all the time.

I agree. Thibs brought this team back from the dead time after time after time when they were depleted. He kept pulling rabbits out of his hat. We witnessed another masterpiece today. Give him another superstar right now and tell me he is not winning a championship. Even the clueless Doc Rivers admitted recently that his 2008 championship was largely because he had Thibs on his staff.

I understand and agree. The way Thibs reconstructed the Knicks offense literally on the fly toward the end of the season is amazing.

I thought OG was great defensively before that happened, mucking up a bunch of Sixers plays and getting a ton of rebounds.

OG also went to the hoop a bunch of times — win or lose — which I think helped get Embiid on his own heels defensively. Same with Hart and even Divo. That (IMO) was the main offensive adjustment Thibs made: Take the ball hard to the hoop.

Playing Precious was prolly sketched out in advance obvs, but the choice was forced on Thibs a bit b/c iHart had such a terrible 3rd on D. It worked today, but we’ll see how Nurse counters.

Studio announcers were laughing that the one guy Nurse needs to figure out how to stop, who “should be on a wanted poster,” was Josh Hart. They couldn’t get over how “dominant” he was and laughed out loud that he had NO points. Hahaha.

It worked today, but we’ll see how Nurse counters.

This ship has sailed, Nick! See you next year! Keep learning from the master! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

So is Josh Hart unplayable (0-7, 0-3 from three, 4-8 from the line, 5 turnovers) or one of the stars of the game (17 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks)?

I know the answer…

That was maybe the most fun I’ve ever had at a sporting event. The NBA should somehow find a way to have more high stakes games in roughly evenly divided arenas. Electric atmosphere.

Lotta ribbing of course but mostly people agreeing we’re both much better than any of the non Boston East teams and helping me and my friends navigate the SEPTA.

The other good adjustment from Thibs was on the Maxey/Embiid staggered P&Rs that killed the Knicks last game in the 3rd quarter (combined with crazy shooting). They fought hard not to end up with Brunson on Embiid, and managed to execute most of the times.

The fourth quarter was a defensive clinic. I look forward to watching it again. It’s probably not a coincidence that the offense was pretty bad with Hart and Precious on the floor (that happened in the regular season too). You live with that tradeoff every day, but it’s worth mentioning.

I hope they can close this series out on Tuesday cause the entire team can use a few days off but man a series this close with 2 very good teams just doesn’t feel like it should only go 5 games.

Ordinarily, I might agree, BBA. But I want to see Embiid go down in as quick and embarrassing a fashion as possible. Rarely have I gone from mostly liking a player to outright despising one the way I have with him. Send him home on Tuesday!

(Also, it’s been funny to see Macri go from the guy with the most fervent belief in the idea of an Embiid trade to having his Twitter handle now read FUCK EMBIID.)

Embiid did not play more than 41 minutes all season. Last time he played 44 was in the playoffs last year. He’s now played 41 and 44 back to back, and has 48 hours to recover.

That was certainly the best part, but I thought OG was great defensively before that happened, mucking up a bunch of Sixers plays and getting a ton of rebounds. It also prevented Maxey from driving all the time.

Yeah, he was great all game starting with 2 early blocks on Embiid.

Weird that Thibs challenged it since they lost possession anyway unless he was worried they’d need 6 fouls for OG to guard Embiid with Mitch out.

Brunson put up 45+ points and 10 assists in a playoff game when his team scored under 100 points. Turns out that was the first time it’s happened in NBA history, per
@Stathead

Pretty crazy…
.

(Also, it’s been funny to see Macri go from the guy with the most fervent belief in the idea of an Embiid trade to having his Twitter handle now read FUCK EMBIID.)

We actually should trade for him and Bam just so they don’t injure any more of our players.

Embiid was completely gassed in the 4th I was actually thinking we shouldn’t have challenged the Maxey out of bounds call at the end because Joel would get a breather

At least you guys can watch. I’m stuck on a damn wildlife show for 8 more minutes. Unbelievable.

wait, what was going on with this Bidiong?

what kind of wildlife?

Pretty crazy…

This is the most glaring weakness of this team. I wish we had Randle. Darn!

The nba should be embarrassed by the whistle that embeed gets…nevertheless we overcame that bullshit…and doc..AI …and dawn stayley had to suck it up…starks was there representing

Somebody check on Doogie, everybody keeps typing Embiid instead of Embiitch and he’s not correcting them

Joel Embiid rips Sixers fans

Meantime, asked the same question, Jalen complimented Sixers fans as being strong and tough to play against and mentioned his own love for the Eagles.

As Shakespeare (kind of) said, “Character will out.” 😉

Honestly if I’m the sixers in trading Embiid and rebuilding around Maxey. Embiid is super talented but he is kind of a dick and seems to lack the heart to actually do what it takes to win when it matters. I know it’s sports cliche and all but he is not a winner. Teams follow their leaders. The Knicks all do whatever it takes to win because their leader, JB, does the same. He’s unconcerned about the petty shit, only winning and the team sees that and follows his lead. Embiid is the opposite. Plus he’s thirty and injury prone. He’s fool’s gold. Trade him for picks while he still has value and rebuild around Maxey who has shown that he can be a leader who doesn’t make excuses.

The NBA should somehow find a way to have more high stakes games in roughly evenly divided arenas. Electric atmosphere.

Can’t wait til we take over Boston.

Ain’t no one going to Indianapolis, tho.

I think tickets in Philly are so much cheaper than at MSG that it just made sense for some fans to make the trip. I don’t think Boston would be the same. But maybe they get Orlando!

@MikeVorkunov
Josh Hart is just the 6th player in NBA history to have 0 made field goals and at least 15 rebounds (Ben Wallace did it twice). First to do it since Rudy Gobert two years ago.

He’s the first to ever have 0 FGs, 15+ rebounds, and 5 assists in a playoff game.

h/t @bball_ref

Boston isn’t as cheap as Philly but it’s a lot cheaper than MSG. I’m sure if there is one weekend game there like today we’ll represent.

Btw here’s the full Embiid quote:

“I think it’s unfortunate. I’m not calling them out, but it is disappointing. Obviously, you got a lot of Knicks fans. They’re down the road. But I’ve never seen it (like that), and I’ve been here for 10 years. It kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town.

“I don’t think that should happen.”

The lovely thing is that Embiid’s methods seem to finally have caught with him – he’s been pretty criticized by most fanbases I’m seeing. It’s not just us.

What I would pay to see the team bus roll in to the nearest Chick-fil-A and eat free chicken

They’d have to break-in. Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays.

“I don’t think that should happen.”

It’s OK. It’s been a long time since the Knicks played a playoff game against a Northeast opponent within a short drive from NYC. He just doesn’t know any better…

BUT HE FUCKED AROUND AND FOUND OUT TODAY, DIDNT HE?!?!?!!!

Sometimes I think we should get Paul George but he’s 33 so maybe not. He & OG would be a sick forward combo.

There happen to be a small number of people on this Megabus who did not attend the game and are going from Philly to NYC for whatever unrelated reason, and I feel so, so bad for them

kinda surprised by this but i think jalen is the first player to ever get 85 pts and 20 assists over two playoff games

https://x.com/nba_newyork/status/1784709343385891055

Kelly Oubre on how Jalen Brunson dropped 47 on him & Sixers:

“34 shots. (Shakes head.) I mean yeah he’s a great player…love his game…But anybody shoots 34 shots that has skill &’s a great player, they’re gonna be able to do well. And especially…getting mismatches…Was due”

Both teams are an unmistakable image of their coaches.

Ask oubre if they ever found “the invisible guys” who mugged him…friggin’ loser…

It would be funny if Embiid finally got sick of Philly and asked out and the Knicks were to say – nah, we’re good.

The ONLY Sixer I’ve heard say the usual, humble, ~ “They were better than us today. Gotta tip your cap and try harder next time,” is Maxey.

ALL our guys said that statement or similar when Embiid stomped on us (legally and illegally) last game.

I’m so proud of this team and these players. As a fan who fell in love with the Knicks in the 90s this is all I’ve ever wanted. A gritty hard nosed team of good players who play the right way and play for each other.

Josh Hart on Jalen Brunson’s 47-point night: “We needed it. Shit. Starting small forward, power forward, whatever I am, where I didn’t make a shot. I was like Shaq at the free throw line.”

Don’t care who wins between Pacers and Bucks just want it to go 7 games. OK probably prefer Indiana to win but in no less than 6 games at least.

This team has the same underdog character that the 90’s team and the Spree/Camby team had. We’re missing an All-Star power forward, an elite defensive center, and our best bench scorer, and we’re playing everybody 40+ minutes and we’re still just out-competing a team that supposedly has more talent.

The hustlebunny shit is working like a charm against this fugazy bunch of cheap shot delivering bums.

Don’t care who wins between Pacers and Bucks just want it to go 7 games. OK probably prefer Indiana to win but in no less than 6 games at least.

I don’t want to play Giannis.

Pacers in 5, please.

We’ve still got another game to win. It’s not like it’s been 3 blowout wins.

I was gutted when Bogey went down. Points were at such a premium it just seemed impossible we could win without one of our better scorers. Turns out we wanted it more, but we still need that old man. Any updates?

Only thing bothering me is that Hartenstein was an empty suit out there today for some reason and it was really really strange with how amazing he has been all season. Other than that, one of the best wins of my life.

Only thing bothering me is that Hartenstein was an empty suit out there today for some reason and it was really really strange with how amazing he has been all season.

I thought a couple of the whistles were iffy but he’s got to be a bit more disciplined out there. Spent the first half being a bit passive and had zero fouls, then five in a quarter? Weird game. Precious was great, missed 0-footers notwithstanding.

Dude gave us a couple of the biggest plays of Game 2 – he’ll be fine.

Team is lovable in part because somebody always seems to step up. Sixers might have the best player in Embiid (when healthy) and the third best in Maxey, but our depth is fairly superior to theirs.

Embiid was totally gassed out there in the 4th but I would be hesitant to sign up for more Paul Reed if I was a Sixers fan

I haven’t seen anything on Bogey yet. Probably won’t until tomorrow.

The thing that hurt was that iHart picked up his two fouls on someone not named Embiid. He needs to know that giving up 2 points in the 3rd Q is not a big deal. There’s no excuse for a quality center like him to pick up 5 fouls in less than a quarter.

There’s some karma in Embiid getting shut down by a combo that would likely not be guarding him (OG and Precious) if he had not hurt Mitch the previous game. And they did it so well that Thibs might think about using that combo again if they need it.

iHart just doesn’t seem strong enough to body up Embiid like Mitch, and he’s not quite quick enough to stay in front of him like OG or Siakam.

iHart is pretty mobile and athletic for a big, but he doesn’t compare to Embiid. Plus a couple fouls were minimal contact.

The Pacers are only up 5? They are so lucky Giannis and Lillard are hurt.

After seeing the Sixers and Knicks battle it’s weird to see a 56-51 score with almost half of the 2nd quarter still to go.

It the Knicks get through, I think the Pacers will be surprised at the physicality.

There’s some karma in Embiid getting shut down by a combo that would likely not be guarding him (OG and Precious) if he had not hurt Mitch the previous game. And they did it so well that Thibs might think about using that combo again if they need it.

Not as much as Nick Nurse losing to Philly with those two under him in 2022

I was gutted when Bogey went down. Points were at such a premium it just seemed impossible we could win without one of our better scorers. Turns out we wanted it more, but we still need that old man. Any updates?

And if he’s out, do we dust off Alec Burks? It’s gonna be hard to proceed with 7 men.

Plus this whole Donte thing is unsettling. He’s got a .447 eFG% and he really doesn’t give us much if he’s not shooting.

I don’t think we can bring in Burks. He’s just been too awful.

Celebrating the victory with a 32oz Modelo. I rarely drink anymore. Go Knicks! 👍

Precious with 4 blocks in 20 minutes

More than makes up for that mind boggling missed dunk.

Burks should stay in Westchester during the game. Close this out with a 7 men rotation if you must. If Mitch is a go, they might have to play Precious at the 4 for a couple of minutes to give Hart a breather.

I think they should go with the Precious OG combo for at least 5 minutes each half. Keep Mitch to 10-15 minutes if you can.

I don’t see Thibs bringing in Burks unless god forbid someone else gets hurt. You never know, but I think he’d just up minutes for Deuce and Donte.

I think Embiid is just a terrible matchup for iHart.

Precious and OG seem to get the job done on D.

I’m missing iHart’s offense, which would come much easier against the backups. We caught a glimpse of it today, but his passing and that little drop shot were automatic earlier in the series. Let him go back to that, and we could be in good shape.

If Indiana wins and the Knicks finish this out I’m going to go to game 4 in Indiana.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want Alec Burks to play. But if Bojan is out can we really go the rest of the playoffs with just Deuce and a backup C off the bench? I guess we’ll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Can play Jacob Toppin against the Pacers to try and induce some errant passes

Side note: it’s so relaxing to watch other teams play in the playoffs after your team has won. This Pacers Bucks game is like taking a bath.

Hart did have the misfortune of guarding Embiid before he got completely gassed, but he fell for the same rip through move like 3 times in 5 minutes.

The Bucks are down Giannis, Lillard, and now Portis.

It’s ironic, too, because usually Middleton is the guy who doesn’t show up but here he is doing it all himself.

I would really like them to be eliminated before they have a chance to heal. I don’t need to deal with Lillard & Giannis after Maxey & Embiid.

When Embiid shoots less than 21 FTs the Knicks are 3-0 in this series.

It just seems like this matchup is so close that a random 10-pt run can decide a game and by extension the series. Like last year when Deuce came in vs. Heat to give Brunson a breather and he was a -7 in less than 3 minutes.

Nurse is kind of in the same box. The non-Embiid minutes are horrible. For all intents and purposes, he played a 7-man rotation with Batum and Payne. He lost confidence in Buddy Hield and probably could have used his shooting in there.

And it works both ways in another sense…neither coach wants to give the other team a chance to rest its players. It’s a classic war of attrition series.

If I was in Nurse’s position, I’d play mostly shooters in my backup unit and hoist 3 every time down the court. The Spo tactic. At least they’d get a chance of positive variability.

Pacers really flexing on beating a Bucks with no Giannis, Lillard, and now Portis? Soft.

Much rather play them than the Bucks. They are a gimmicky team over-reliant on threes.

I think the Pacers are not necessarily a great matchup for us. We all know what Hali can do when he gets going and their shooters get hot. They have good chemistry, are unselfish, and Siakam is going to occupy OG. It would be very taxing on the defensive end, especially with our guys dropping like flies. And TJ always seems to kill us.

We really need to end this series on Tuesday.

The Pacers are 19-36 from 3pt and are winning just by 6. Their defense is so bad. The Bucks are shooting 60% from 2.

Z-man, I think OG on Hali would be a game changer. He’s not a fast PG like Maxey, and OG’s length would bother him a ton. Let Hart take care of Siakam, who at least can’t get the other shooters going.

The Bucks fight, man. Every time you think they’re out, they come back.

Danilo Gallinari has 6 points off the bench!

When Embiid shoots less than 21 FTs the Knicks are 3-0 in this series.

LOL!

If the Knicks and the Pacers meet, I’ll bet on Brunson have an outstanding series. They can’t guard him.

Jalen Brunson is the first player to record over 85 points and 20+ assists in 2 games in NBA history according to Twitter.

The concern about Indiana is this kind of game. I never felt the Sixers were likely to win a series by sheer shooting luck – though Game 3 was that to some extent – I’d bet Indiana wins at least a couple of games due to hot shooting.

The Pacers have excellent team energy. They run out, move the ball, find open shooters, cut, and when they start hitting 3’s they score points in bunches. Not that the in-season tournament means anything, but they were very impressive, and that was before picking up Siakam. Before he got hurt, Hali was an MVP candidate. He looks to be back in that form right now. I think they’re dangerous.

amazing to think myles turner is only 28, it feels like he’s been in the league since he was 15…

curious to see if the sun’s show up tonight…really disappointing series for booker…

Pacers won’t be easy, assuming we both get there.

Hali hasn’t really been the same since he came back from injury. But Carlisle is a legit good coach and they have a lot of weapons. Still have to feel like the Knicks should win that series.

Health may be a factor – a 7-person rotation might be OK for a few games, but is not sustainable in the long run.

I don’t think we’ll be looking at Bogey being out for more than a game if it’s even that.

I know the modern NBA is different but I’d have to think Indiana’s style of play isn’t capable of winning 4 out of 7 in a playoff series against this Knicks team. But it definitely won’t be easy and they’ll have their moments of offensive explosions.

I bring up alot about how much it sucks not having Randle but it would really be magnified against Indiana, with Randle Knicks would easily beat the Pacers in 5 games.

“Hali hasn’t really been the same since he came back from injury. But Carlisle is a legit good coach and they have a lot of weapons. Still have to feel like the Knicks should win that series.

Yeah, I worry that if we don’t win Tuesday, we will be exhausted and might lose the first home game in the next series. I liked our chances better when we could count on Mitch and Bojan being there, if even just to eat up some minutes.

I enjoyed this win more than game 2. They were coming off a loss, never gave up and played outstanding defense when it mattered. I still found the fans extremely obnoxious, celebrating down there like they advanced. That worries me, but the dagger is in and twisted, now they just need to finish it off.

Adding to the fun. Rangers sweep the Caps. Yankees win big. Very few nights in NY sports history like tonight.

“Adding to the fun. Rangers sweep the Caps. Yankees win big. Very few nights in NY sports history like tonight.”

You left out that the Mets won in extra innings on a walk-off HR…

man the Suns gotta pay Brad Beal 160 million dollars over the next 3 years and he has a no trade clause

I don’t want to play Giannis. Pacers in 5, please.

The Knicks don’t seem to care who they face, so why should you? Have they not earned your trust to show up and play their asses off no matter the opponent? This team looks legit, so why not want them to play against the big boys?

If Bojan can’t go, we’re definitely going with a 7-man rotation unless Burks has looked really good at practice.

If needed, Precious can slide over to PF to give breathers that Thibs will absolutely not grant.

The Knicks have earned this series so far, but I’m rooting for Philadelphia to win on Tuesday. Not because I’m Donnie Sixers Fan, but because the non-NY basketball watchers out there deserve to see these teams play each other a bunch more times. It’s been crazy good.

watched start to finish…embiid is a sore loser…

saw him blinking wildly like chief inspector dreyfus…heard in pre-game he has a palsy illness…blurs his vision…

even without being the picture of good health AND a poor sport – what a monster on the court…

it sort of did look like lowry gestured that he was going to miss the second shot as he was going to the line…guess oubre and maxey didn’t see him…

so sad, too bad…

our victories have all been super close…philly’s been a good test so far…

I’m gonna need to find a way to be busy again on tuesday during the game…so much nicer watching the game when a positive outcome is already known…

Anthony Edwards highlights from last night are pretty insane. Nuggets-Wolves is gonna be an NBA Finals-type series in the 2nd round.

Chris Finch potentially tearing his patella tendon is also insane. Will a 6er dive on Thib’s knee in game 5?

#I’m gonna need to find a way to be busy again on tuesday during the game…so much nicer watching the game when a positive outcome is already known…#

Sorry to say it geo but knowing already the final score or even not knowing it but watching it without being able to comment in here make it less exciting for me…
Yesterday i had to work till 1 hour after the game was starting so lost the live-thread chance… not the same
At Least the result of the game was…the same!!! And Great!
