2018-19 Game Thread: New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

This is an oddly long homestand, no?

Anyhow, this is a major game for tanking purposes, as the Knicks have to be the big favorites tonight, which would tie them with Cleveland.

If they win this one, that starts to make falling out of the bottom three a real possibility. That would be pretty devastating.

I’ll still root for MitchRob to have a good game, though! I can’t help it!

Nasty dunk from Dotson.

The Shop eh? I see why AD wants to be LA bound.

Hopefully Clarkson can have the game of his life

Trier is pretty damn good at creating space for himself.

Shoot. More. Threes.

21-34 and we are losing

He plays a lot like Camby I think.

Manure Bol averaged almost 5 blocks per game as a rookie. Pretty amazing

Steve is showing the kids at his old HS that they too can achieve great things if they find the right billionaire to kiss up to.

Mitch is bigger in stature. Camby was more of a long, athletic 4 than a pure 5. He ran the floor better than Mitch and had a bit more offensive polish. But yes, there are lots of similarities.

On that play, I thought Mitch fouled him by pushing off down low, not up high on the block.

@ 16, that’s also what I thought.

I liked Smith’s shot chart. If only they’d all adopt that distribution.

Manure Bol

Lol, rude.

Did he play with Luol Dung?

Poo Richardson really held the team back.

Knox helps us answer the age old question “what if Frank Ntilikina was taller and shot all the time?”

I finally understand the “we want Kanter” idiots. They foresaw the tank getting blown up.

Breen would do terribly in an armored division. Can’t believe he is happy about these wins. I know he is #teamtank in his heart.

None of them hold an airwick to Emmanuel Doodiay

Ha!

Can’t believe we found a way to lose this game. Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson to the rescue.

I predict a great future for Knox after his NBA career ends and he joins the Big3 league.

To quote Dennis Green: “Mudiay is what we think he is.” Not good. Blew my mind he was primary ball handler at the end with dsj at the 2. If dot doesn’t land on his ass the Knicks win this one.

How did they lose this game? I’m in a luxury box waiting for the Ducks game to start and just saw it crawl across the ticker. Weren’t they up 12 with like 8 to go?

Who is the “all tank team” from this point on? I’m guessing at a minimum it includes Knox and Mudiay.

As tanking goes, Knox is a 5-star general; Mudiay a high-ranking commander but Knox is in a class by himself.

Let’s give Fiz a little credit- his going with a Smith/Mudiay backcourt and leaving Trier on the bench down the stretch really secured the L.

Trier did foul Clarkson on the breakaway for the clear path foul which resulted in a 5 point play. That was kind of crucial. Knox is just terrible and they managed to ice Robinson out for about five minutes. Cavs hit a few threes. Love also has a little left in the tank too.
