    1. Rose’s legal team has asked for a mistrial on the basis of the accuser deleting and concealing a text she sent shortly before the alleged rape:

“She was mad at me babe why u have me bring a bitch and u ain’t fina f–k her.”

So… this woman who claims (without evidence) to have been drugged, and who further claims (without evidence) to have been so intoxicated she stuck her arm in a fire, and who further claims that she would never ever consent to anything like group sex… managed to power through a drug that typically renders its victims unconscious, ignore the grievous injuries to her hand and arm, and send multiple clear, coherent text messages to Rose, insisting he come to her apartment at 1:00 AM and giving him grief for not having sex with the “bitch” she brought to his house for that express purpose.

The same woman who followed up this alleged violent gang rape with texts asking for reimbursement for a sex belt, texts saying “thanks for the good dick.” The same woman who told her friend at a party in Vegas, point blank, she had not been raped. The same woman who filed this lawsuit years after the alleged incident, but only weeks after her unemployment checks stopped coming.

It’s becoming pretty obvious why Rose didn’t want to settle this case out of court.

    2. @1 – you’re absolutely right. Rose is a star, so he can go after them like a bitch, even if they are married. Then he can grab them by the pussy and nothing will happen.

      Because “we men”…

    3. Nice deflection away from the substance of my post. I guess it’s easier to demand Derrick Rose answer for Donald Trump’s sins than to acknowledge his accuser’s story doesn’t add up.

    4. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Rose and The Two Gentlemen are beyond reproach. No reason for a trial – she asked for it.

If she was ok with group sex, why didn’t they do it when they were all together at Rose’s place earlier that night?

They could have ‘grabbed her by the pussy’ then. Why wait until she was incapacitated?

      Ooops…never mind!

    5. If she was ok with group sex, why didn’t they do it when they were all together at Rose’s place earlier that night?

Funny you should mention that. According to Rose’s testimony, they did. But even if they hadn’t, so what? Just as consenting to sex once doesn’t mean blanket consent forevermore, the opposite is also true.

Why wait until she was incapacitated?

The only evidence for her incapacitation his her own assertion. This is belied by the multiple clear, coherent text messages she sent while supposedly drugged to the point of total incapacitation.

You sure are fixated on Trump…

    6. It’s 10:57 AM and this thread is already an abomination

      +1

I don’t want to talk about courtroom drama. I want to talk basketball. 50 lashes to the next person that mentions “trials” from here on out. It’s time to talk about on-the-court stuff.

So I am liking what I see offensively from Hernangomez – a lot. I am worried about his defense. On the plus side, he’s very athletic for a big man. And he’s a big man. Unlike KP, he’s got girth and shouldn’t get pushed around. N’dour and Baker intrigue me. They’re hungry and I like that.

I heard Hahn say that he thinks the Nets will be better than the 20 games they are projected to win. I don’t see it. Am I wrong?

    7. Rube should really be banned. He adds nothing of value and exists only to agitate. He’s a clear-cut troll.

    8. Yes, obviously.

I don’t see the Nets going .500, but I’d feel pretty good betting them to win 21 or more games.

    9. A Knick hater wants me banned so that he can continue to bash the Knicks without repercussions or blowback. What a pussy!

    10. @DRed – Knickblogger sentiment barely gives the Knicks 35 wins, so .500 is insane. But looking at their lineup vs the Knicks, we should be trouncing them every time we play. At worst Noah vs Brook is a wash as is Rose/Jennings vs. Lin/Vazquez at PG. Melo, KP and CLee are all better than their counterparts on the Nets.

Who do you like on that team that makes you say that?

    11. This missing text could be a very big problem for Jane Doe for a few reasons. If her attorneys intentionally withheld it from defendants’ lawyers, that is a serious violation of the rules. It’s not likely but, if the judge is angry enough, he could dismiss her case. Second, showing the jury other texts but not this one only emphasizes that this one must be really important. It also could cause a reasonable jury to ask themselves two questions — what else is she hiding (juries generally don’t like it when they think that lawyers are not telling them the whole story)? and, if she brought him a “bitch” that night for the sole purpose of having sex with Rose and admonished him for not “finishing,” exactly where does she draw her moral line? I realize that bringing him another woman doesn’t mean that she consented to group sex. However, her attorneys could have handled it much better by having her say that on direct examination. Now, if she says it in rebuttal, it comes across as an after the fact justification.

    12. Zach Lowe has the Knicks as the 5th most watchable team in the NBA. Dolan can do no wrong. Seriously. He’s a marketing genius.

    13. Zach Lowe has the Knicks as the 5th most watchable team in the NBA.

Same as the morbid attraction offered by those bizarro shows at Coney Island: it’s fun to see the corpses of Noah and Rose running in front of a 7-foot 3″ skinny giant, while dwarf Spike Lee sits across the court from Woody Allen and his daughter/wife.

    14. I’m gonna share this last thought about this Rose case:
It’s over. I absolutely hate the “we men” line, because MEN don’t act like that- even though I get what he implied. Rose should be held accountable for being irresponsible at the least. But this case is over. If that text is an actual real life text, her case is dead. In a situation like that..it just implies “orgy” of some sort..or at least something similar. If you text something like that the morning after to one of the persons you are accusing of gang rape, you lose credibility. Going forward, I hope the world kinda shuts up about the case so Rose can focus on his job. I’m saying that strictly as a Knicks fan. I hate the fact that Rose is likely going to get away with endangering a woman in a very indecent situation. But, how indecent can it be on Rose’s part if she seemed willing- amongst other things? In a perfect world, our “heroes” live and breathe good character, and athletes are the closest thing to superheroes that we have due to their seemingly superhuman ability. But unfortunately, some of these “heroes” have super shitty sides. I mean..this really fuckin sucks..but what are we gonna do other than try to be right in our own lives, y’know?

    15. @johnno – Consider yourself smacked and admonished for talking trial!

I think that watchable can have many meanings and train wrecks get lots of gawkers. Rose did not look good in that 1st preseason game. Most of the Knicks looked bad.

    16. Same as the morbid attraction offered by those bizarro shows at Coney Island: it’s fun to see the corpses of Noah and Rose running in front of a 7-foot 3? skinny giant, while dwarf Spike Lee sits across the court from Woody Allen and his daughter/wife

Ha! I literally laughed out loud..I mean hollered! Good stuff lol

    17. Theo, GoNyGoNyGo –
right, watchable can be a lot of things. For Dolan it doesn’t matter the reason people are watching. He’s making money regardless.
The tragedy is that our society, and our team, are ruled by marketing.

    18. Lin and RHJ might put together decent years and put the Nets around 25 wins. I think they’re easily the worst team in the league, though.

    19. I think that watchable can have many meanings and train wrecks get lots of gawkers. Rose did not look good in that 1st preseason game. Most of the Knicks looked bad.

Wait, 16 and 5 in 22 mins (better than 24 pts and 7.5 assists per 36) on .500 shooting is bad? What exactly were everyone’s expectations for the first preseason game with a new team and new coach?

    20. We hopefully will see more Willy, Randle and Baker tonight with Rose and Noah not playing.

    21. Well, let’s see how League Pass works for me this year. Last year I had lots of problems, esp. with Roku app. for big TV. Tonight, I’ll just go PC.

    22. Jennings should just stop shooting long jump shots. Plumlee is a banger, but he’s got to be a bit more selective in when he bangs…

    23. it makes me wonder if he’s actually gonna make the roster…. and that kinda scares me…

    24. Well, League Pass PC sucks so far. It keeps freezing up…I have to hit Reload page every few minutes.

    25. I’m pulling for Plumlee. OQ and Hernangomez are not good defenders vs. centers. Plumlee has the potential to be a solid defender if he chills out a bit.

    26. Well, League Pass PC sucks so far. It keeps freezing up…I have to hit Reload page every few minutes.

Same here. Especially during commercial breaks.

    27. Kahnzy, I think I figured it out. At each commercial break, the feed is being stopped for some reason. Rather than reload the page, I’m just hitting the Pause and then Play buttons and the feed resumes.

Until the next break, of course. Rinse and repeat.

    28. Well, considering what we paid for this service, that’s not exactly acceptable to me. I’m gonna give them until the 21st to get this sorted. If it still sucks I’m just gonna cancel my subscription and just watch the games for free on other sites (you have until the 25th to cancel).

    29. Yeah, it is annoying. Hopefully they fix it. Why bother to stop the feed anyways? Do they not want us to see the dancers or Rebecca Haarlowe for some reason?

    30. Randle just needs to stop driving and trying to take on 2-3 guys. He dished once very nicely on a drive, but 2 other times he tried to score, got stopped, and gave Brooklyn transition chances.

Hernangomez has skills on O and has looked better on D tonight. He’ll never be a rim protector, though.

Surprised no Cheese so far. I’d like to see him against someone better than scrubs.

    31. Man, the halftime kids game is a track meet! Dantoni must have coached both teams! Run and gun.

Blowout, though, with White winning 14-2.

    32. Check that, Amundson looks EXACTLY like a young Kris Kristofferson.

Randle and Baker have looked very good.

    33. Amundson and Sasha. Won’t happen, though.

They’ll probably sign Randle and send Baker to DLeague.

    34. amundson… ndour hasn’t really shown much … but he might eventually…

justin holiday hasn’t exactly been good either…

    35. OQ and Hernangomez look rather redundant to me. PF/C types. Hernangomez looks a bit better on O and OQ a bit better on D, though.

I wonder if there’s any chance that they might look to trade OQ? I wonder if any team even would have cap space to fit him in?

    36. Yeah I’d get rid of Holiday and Amundsen for sure.

I actually like Sasha being a veteran voice especially for all the foreign players on the team

    37. we def need both koq and wily… after them it’s… ndour, amundsen or … shudder… plumlee?

    38. Lol, NDour and Willy have similar stat lines right now. They look like they’re try to one up each other.

    39. Randle and Baker look like keepers.

I’d cut Lou and Tokoto to get down to a 15 man roster right now.

    40. Randle and Baker look like keepers.

I’d cut Lou and Tokoto to get down to a 15 man roster right now. Would we need to cut another?

    41. Stealth player of the night:

JP Tokoto. In 11 minutes, he had 0 pts., but 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists, and 0 turnovers.

      Hopefully he’ll play at Westchester.

    42. Yeah i think we need to cut one of the guaranteed guys to fit Baker, Randle and N’dour.

    43. Also possible that Rose gets suspended, temporarily opening up a spot. In any case, O’Quinn just doesn’t seem like anything above a vet’s minimum guy, so finding a taker for his salary would be great. Maybe I’m wrong on him, but his ceiling seems to be very low…like fringe rotation player low.

    44. I think O’Quinn is ok on defense and a good rebounder. The problem is on offense. Even though he seems better than last year, he still shot a deep two early in the shot clock, which is a horrible shot.

    45. I was only talking about which guaranteed players to cut. I assumed tokoto would be gone.

    46. Willy Hernangomez is going to be a great pro. If he figures out that rebounding issue, we’re looking at David Lee part two and he has the potential to be a better defender.

I hope we don’t trade him and a first round pick for an overrated name this season when we’re struggling.

    47. Willy is staying right here. Phil to Willy upon meeting him for the first time: “I like your game.”

    48. The knock on Willy H is defense, not rebounding. (Maybe he is David Lee 2.0.). He averaged 12 per 40 last year and draftexpress called him one of the best rebounders in the ACB.
